President Obama Praises Huma Abedin at White House Ramadan Iftar Dinner

Hillary Clinton’s Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin became a nationally-recognized figure after Michele Bachmann and four other Republicans launched an investigation into the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood within the U.S. government.

The congressmen noted that Abedin’s mother, brother, and father all have connections to the Islamist organization, before asking how the valued aide was given the high-level security clearance she presumably has. The inquiry set off a firestorm in the media, with powerful members of Congress like John McCain coming to Abedin’s impassioned defense.

At a Ramadan dinner Friday night, Barack Obama also praised the Clinton aide, calling her “nothing less than extraordinary” and an “American patriot.”

“She has been nothing less than extraordinary in representing our country and the democratic values that we hold dear,” the president said, according to Reuters. “The American people owe her a debt of gratitude because Huma is an American patriot and an example of what we need in this country — more public servants with her sense of decency, her grace and her generosity of spirit.”

President Obama also made women a focus of his speech, saying the Koran teaches that: ”Be it man or woman, each of you is equal to the other.”

He continued:

“More broadly, we’ve seen the extraordinary courage of Muslim women during the Arab Spring — women, right alongside men, taking to the streets to claim their universal rights, marching for their freedom, blogging and tweeting and posting videos, determined to be heard. In some cases, facing down tanks, and braving bullets, enduring detentions and unspeakable treatment, and at times, giving their very lives for the freedom that they seek — the liberty that we are lucky enough to enjoy here tonight.”

Keith Koffler of the White House Dossier noted that the president “made no mention” of the oppression experienced by women in many Muslim countries, nor did he note that the “Arab Spring” may have made the situation far worse for countless women.

I’ve always lived by the fact that “the truth will set you free.” Why doesn’t obama once and for all come out of the closet with the fact he is muslim. He is much more fluent and comfortable quoting the koran, isn’t he? His body language gives away how uncomfortable he is quoting biblical scripture. He is disingenuous. Are we the only people who see this? It is so blatantly obvious! Can’t Congress see his treasonous leanings? What is going on?? Why aren’t other people in congress saying anything? Is Michelle Bachmann the only one with cajones!? It really is like we have the anti-Christ in the white house and he has his minions under a spell. I can‘t believe what I’m seeing….

  Well, he did spend time in Indonesia, so I‘m sure he’s aware of their teachings and customs. Still I think he’s an athiest. He‘s daughters wouldn’t dress the way they do, he wouldn’t be so comfortable with homosexuality, and he wouldn’t have snorted coke and smoked weed if he were a devout Muslim. I think he’s just more comfortable with minorities than us WASPs, but I still think he’s an athiest.

He is a Muslim and why people can‘t see it and why something hasn’t been done about it. It makes me sick to my stomach.   @JZS, It’s not only Obama. You need to know how deep the conspiracy goes, GW Bush was the same way. He and his whole administration downplayed the danger of Islam. They said we are not at war with Islam, changed the name of our military liberation of Iraq from Crusade because the Muslims don’t like that word, said it’s a legitimate religion, etc. Bush even kissed a Muslim prince on the cheek.   Bush did make clear statements of friendship toward Muslims. He was the POTUS, and he could not polarize the entire ME. That was his job, and like many well-meaning Christians, he actually believes Islam is a religion and not the theo-fascist political system it really is.
  
  HOWEVER, you never saw Bush show utter disdain for a Jewish PM; absolutely NEVER demand that Israel give up sovereign territory and in so doing jeopardize its very existence. He never held Ramadan dinners at the WH, or called the Qur’an “holy” or America a “Muslim country”, and that‘s because Bush wasn’t lying about being a Christian. He never mocked the Bible or had Catholic icons covered when he spoke at Catholic universities. Here’s the clincher: It would never have entered Bush‘s mind to violate Christians’ religious freedom by having to pay for abortions or abortifacients, while allowing Muslims to be exempt of the health care mandate.

I would love to see the thre of them take center stage at the Republican Convention and just tell it as it is, that would whip the convention into a frenzy of patriotism and knowing what it is to be true Republican‘s which will be heard throughout America and bring all of us freedom loving American’s out to vote in November.

It simply is not true; if the best Bachmann and her bigoted supporters can come up with is “well, her brother serves on a board at a prestigious school in England where a Muslim Brotherhood member also serves,” your case is weak.

  Historically, in order to obtain Security Clearance, (which as top aide to the secretary of state, you would expect her to have.) you could not have ANY family members or friends with close ties to terrorist organizations, or those on the FBI watch lists, any criminals, etc. Michell Bachmann and the other Congressmen simply asked the IG’s of each department to check whether these requirements were still being used in their departments, and if not why not, and to the state dept IG ms. wieiner (Huma Abedon) was given as an example of one who would not have passed this requirement, and if it was waived, and if so by who? The entire letter was available by link, in a story here on The Blaze at the time it was issued. Try reading it before making false accusations. If you’re honest you might learn something, if not, you’re on the right side for that!

When was it wrong to vet the very people that are on the inside taking over our government “on our behalf?” We have and continue to be scammed.   As painful as Obama is, I’m glad McCain was not elected for 2 reasons;
  
  1) McCain is an idiot and would not have fix anything and conservatives would still be asleep
  2) this country can now see what happens when the media and useful idiots vote for a President without vetting him

  That pretty well confirms some events I have been told of across the state; I can see Obama causing the civil unrest around the election times and declare martial law. One other thing to consider as well, is that he could (in theory) ask the UN for a ‘peacekeeping and monitoring’ force – say from Russia, N Korea, China and Iran – to keep tabs here in America.
  
  I would put nothing past him.
