‘America’s Son’: Beck Unveils Inspiring New Restoring Love Song

In the wake of a historic Supreme Court ruling on Obamacare, Glenn Beck took time out of his Friday morning radio broadcast to unveil a new song for Restoring Love — “America’s Son,” performed by Tom Douglas and Peter Lillback.
Clearly, Beck and his team find the lyrics, as well as the melody, both thought-provoking and inspiring.
“Absolutely unbelievable,” remarked Beck.
Musical contributions such as this will be an integral part of Restoring Love. Have a listen below:

Here are the lyrics combined with PETEYC‘s and everyone’s corrections included. “God blessed America” (past tense) is used when referring to Washington and “God bless America” in our search for another. Beautiful song.

One thing bothers me, though, about these and the theme music Glenn uses on his show: when are we going to hear an upbeat song? Something with a solid, uplifting, quick beat? So far the musc more closely resembles a funeral dirge than a clarion call to join in our struggle and ertain victory!

Can I suggest a couple of clarifications? If you listen again you might see how they fit the context
1.“fought the iron fist of tyranny WITH liberty”
2.“led his men TO the gates of hell”
3. “glory came to Washington, REFUSED a crown and took a bow”
You may want to check some history on that last one but I’m sure I read someplace that Washington was offered the crown of some European (or eastern European) country who felt he could sort out their problems. Glenn would probably know. And if it wasn‘t Washington I’d love to be reminded who it was.

As for “glory came to Washington, REFUSED a crown and took a bow” I think the explanation is simple. I‘ve read in several places that Washington’s name was often proffered to be our King before the entire concept of president and the constitution was finally settled on but he point blank refused. Thanks for the assist, I just couldn’t pick it out.

Glenn, i have never posted here before but yesterday’s news was so depressing for all of us. I have to tell you that you feel like my brother and I felt your pain while you were on the air at 10 am EST. Millions of us feel the same way.
We are going to come back stronger, but when you came out on the horse with the kilt on GBTV, and the message of Braveheart, i smiled for the first time all day. (I usually smile all the time)
I think you have a prophet’s angst and since you have given it all to God, you can expect it will be a difficult road. But you can also expect that it will ultimately unfold the way God desires. There are heroes all around us. We need to get on our knees and then roll up our sleeves.

Posted on June 29, 2012 at 3:45pmI was just listening to his show on rerun on gbtv and heard it about 4 times bawling my eyes out and finally let the player keep going and he said it was on his website under music??? I have to have one of my kids go on and get it onto my ipod if it has to be purchased (well worth it), but I still haven’t figured out how to find where the music is at.
I’m ticked off that Beck made me cry, rotten SOB, but close your eyes, with all that has been happening to our country, and just listen to the words. If you aren’t the least bit moved, you could be a communist (encinom). Hope they start playing this on country stations this week and into next, it would be a HUGE hit.

Report Post »Glenn, I’d love to hear some more agressive sounding music with the same message… A lot of younger guys, ESPECIALLY the ones protecting this country (Military/LE) listen to rock/metal… something that pumps you up.
If you could combine that patriotic message with Metallica sounding music, I’d put it #1 on my playlist and share it with everyone I I know.

In regards to immigration:
I work in concert industry and when I’m on tour and go overseas (anywhere!) I am instructed to have “my work papers” on my person at all times. We are the ONLY country that doesn’t enforce that!
In regards to socialized healthcare:
I’ve worked with Cirque Du Soleil, one of the guys (current trainer, former performer and Canadian olympian) was injured. We got him to a sports medicine specialist, he then got an MRI, saw the Doctor again…all of that happened within a 3 hour period. He couldn’t believe it. Cirque provides private health insurance when traveling abroad. He would have never had that sort of treatment in Canada (even with the “hook ups” Cirque and Olympic athletes are afforded). He also shared with me the fact that while he has been privileged those “privileges” do not extend to his family. His uncle has been waiting 2 years for a hip replacement and his sister was up to 18 mos waiting for an acl operation. There’s your single payer healthcare for ya! I work with people from all over the world and have plenty of those stories!
These examples are just to say that you may want to expand your horizons on your strongly held opinions!
