Among Social Networks Facebook Remains #1, But LinkedIn Bumps MySpace for #2

Unique visitors to LinkedIn’s professional social network reached an all-time high of 33.9 million in June, surpassing MySpace for the most active social network following Facebook. The move comes as no surprise given the recent fortunes of both sites; LinkedIn receiving booming traffic following its successful IPO in May and MySpace being sold for $35 million, $545 million less than what NewsCorp paid for the site in 2005.
Twitter rides in close behind both sites with 30.6 million UVs in June, the site’s first month over 30 million UVs. Twitter gained an additional 3 million more UVs from May to June, and recent private financing has pushed the site’s value to $7 billion.
Facebook still holds a commanding lead over competing social networks, reaching an all-time high of 160.8 million unique visitors in the U.S. this June. CEO Mark Zuckerberg also confirmed that Facebook has crossed the 750 million user mark.

Posted on July 10, 2011 at 1:50amI loved MySpace until Rupert Murdochs newscorps bought it. He came in and changed everything, pictures of my late fgrandmother were streaming onmy page, all of my pictures nd video swere upside down, it was awful. I had a lot of great frinds on that site, and nwo I dont’ even go in, I can’t believe the mess they made of it, it was mor elike a hook up service, they ar econstatntly trying ot get you to meet up and jhjoin up wiht other people and it slike a teeny bopper paradise, tha tuysed ot be for everyone , you could fix your page anyway you wanted to, now , it sucks , you can’t do anything with it. There were a lot of people who jus tliked one thing, old music , newer music, family sharing , blogging, now its their way or th ehighway. I hate it. I heard Rupert sold it and Justin Timberlake was going ot buy it, he is on my firends list, but when he sai dhe was going to make it into a plac e where fans could connect , I gave up, to them there si no one else but them, they highjacked it and it stinks, a lot of eople hav eleft, nothing but crappy groups and comedians and nuts. I sitill think originally it had a great idea, a plac eot put your stuff, hook uyp wiht friend sn family and show off your albums , nwo its nothing.

Posted on July 9, 2011 at 7:46pmRemember when Myspace was king? That was like sooo 2005. Facebook will fall too. Unless they can Google themselves into the next decade, we‘ll be watching retro 00’s and 10′s shows about that whole facebook fad.

Posted on July 10, 2011 at 5:06pmKickin–I am kind of hoping they fall. They now have the FULL backing of our corrupt government and will be used as a propaganda machine in the near future. Don’t forget the internet bill–equal time on the advertising (b.s.) which is why I never click “like” on the side ads. I am looking forward to another platform to kick them off the radar. Get in bed with government, LOSE your support. I can live without CityVille, Farmville, and all of that other stuff—AND I have a phone and e-mail to stay in touch. Plus, we could do that crazy thing that used to be all the rage: meet with our friends face to face. I knew Facebook would be worthless when Robert Gibbs [sic] Fibbs went there.

Posted on July 9, 2011 at 8:27pmIt is indeed. I haven’t checked my myspace page in months. I’ve been using Tumblr recently and loving it. It’s like twitter & blogger combined. Tumblr backends our whole website: http://poorrichardsnews.com/ I think it’s only a matter of time before they catch up to the big boys.
