(Updated) Anderson Cooper Attacked: ‘Punched 10 Times’ During Latest Cairo Protests

CNN’s Anderson Cooper went from reporter to victim today while covering the latest unrest in Cairo, Egypt. As pro-Mubarak and anti-government protesters clashed in the town’s main square, Cooper and his TV crew got caught in the middle.
The attack — which reportedly was at the hands of Mubarak supporters — was first reported by CNN’s Steve Brusk who tweeted the following:
Cooper himself then took to the airwaves to describe what happened, which included being punched in the face and kicked:
Another CNN reporter, Hala Gorani, reported a narrow escape:

CNN released video taken by Cooper’s crew from inside the attack mob. The network also interviewed Cooper, who admitted he was “frightened”:

Didn‘t John Kerry at one time ’recreate’ scenes in Viet Nam showing himself to be a hero? Not that hard to set up a quick scene among people starved for media attention. Might have cost CNN a camel or two, but with no blood, this story reeks… Hey Coop, if you read The Blaze, put some of the fake blood caps in your mouth next time ;)
