Anderson Cooper Blasts MoveOn.org Spokesman for Deceptive Ad Regarding GOP and Women’s Health

Anderson Cooper Blasts MoveOn Spokesman for Deceptive Ad Regarding Republicans and Womens Health

While the mainstream media may be spending Friday fretting over Anderson Cooper’s remarks regarding conservative shock-jock Rush Limbaugh’s weight, the CNN host also got in a spat with a MoveOn.org spokesman during AC 360 Thursday, slamming the organization‘s continued campaign to portray a GOP war on women’s health.

To give a little background, House Republicans have faced continued criticism from Democrats for extending low interest rates for student loans last week, which is paid for by cuts to prevention initiatives in the president’s health care law that opponents allege is furthering “an assault on women’s health.” When scanning over the HHS website that lays out what’s in the now eliminated Prevention and Public Health Fund, nothing can be found in the fund that is specifically aimed at women aside from $7 million for breastfeeding. Despite this, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said last week of the GOP plan to extend the loans:

“In order to pay for it, [House Republicans] are going to make an assault on women’s health, make another assault on women’s health, continue our assault on women’s health and pay for this with prevention initiatives that are in effect right now for childhood immunization; for screening for breast cancer, for cervical cancer; and for initiatives to reduce birth defects – a large part of what the Center for Disease Control does in terms of prevention.”

Given the facts, the Washington Post Fact Checker blog awarded Pelosi’s statement Two Pinocchios and FactCheck.org of The Annenberg Public Policy Center has said The White House is greatly exaggerating when it says that “women, in particular,” will benefit from the fund set for elimination.

“We’ll chalk this up as another distortion in the political ‘war on women,’” Lori Robertson writes on FactCheck.

Despite the thrashing of the latest “war on women” claims from online fact-checkers earlier in the week, the progressive MoveOn posted a full-page ad in Politico Thursday attacking Republicans:

“Student loan rates double July 1, yet Republicans in Congress say they‘ll only keep rates low if they cut funding for women’s health.

That’s crazy. And it’s not fooling anyone into thinking they care about students.”

The beating of a dead, two Pinocchio-rated horse caught the attention of NPR and Anderson Cooper for his “Keeping Them Honest” segment. Justin Ruben appeared on AC360 Thursday where Cooper criticized the ad’s distortion of facts regarding the debate surrounding cuts to fund the latest student loan extension.

“You only seem to be targeting Republicans because it meets your political agenda,” Cooper accused.

Don’t you love these godlesss baby killing Democrats! They can’t run on the administration records so they invent this war on women. I am starting to like Anderson Cooper for calling this nutjob out on this BS. Democrats hate Republican women because these are the hot chicks in HS that snubbed them they got stuck with the fat easy liberal chicks if they weren’t lesbians. There is no war on women and women don’t need the protection of Obama or any other president. I think this issue is going to backfire on these nitwits nobody sees it except this fantasy that was created by the whitehouse and David Axelhole.

I agree, I have to give him some credit for his “random act” of journalism. Perhaps they’re sick and tired of being in the toilet on ratings at CNN. Even the Huffington Post and the New York Times seem to be figuring out that being in the tank for Obama is destroying their organizations. We’ll see.

I’ll go with Anderson on this specific point, but not that the Republican agenda is not anti-woman. I‘ll guess we’ll see who women vote for. Probably the candidate who isn’t trying to stick probes inside of them and deny mammograms to the poor.

In any case, since we’re fair and balanced here, here’s Cooper slamming Rush Limbaugh, who weirdly enjoys reading about Anderson Cooper in National Enquirer (Rush’s go to source for news):

I gave up with CNN and Anderson and he knows why! Now he finally gotten out of bed with his multiple partnership and found a bunk bed to sleep in….More sound bites like this will not only Anderson see his rating increase but he and CNN with give FOX news a run for its money… Honest people want facts, find them and give them to us,,, Let your viewer decide their own mind. It leads to interesting viewing, and more people talking about it. I will continue to put my time in watching him, knowing I am getting facts and not smears, and /or being indoctrinated. However Anderson needs to understand, slip something in to duped the public, will lower his viewership to less than it is now and he can join Keith obermen in his bed..

Cooper did okay ,now if he’d really wanted to be a “journalist” he could have also pointed out that the democrats ,in 2007, were the ones who made it so the student loans would double this year , then I would have been totally impressed .

It was humorous to see the “move on” socialist squirm a bit ,in his mind he was thinking why is this happening we’re on the same team. He almost says something to that effect during the interview.

Wow! For the first time I think he is reporting the news without a democratic skewed version! I think he tries too, but subconsciously his democratic view shines through even though he is trying to hide it. Now let’s see if he can keep up the good work. The guy he is reporting is obviously getting paid to carry his democratic favor of the president on shows like A.C. I think A.C is getting better. However, there is no doubt the media helped the president get elected in 2008 and some is still very selective in their reports to keep the reputation of the president in a good light. All media should report fairly.

Simply a top to bottom inside to out investigation of past reporting with a final ‘Inspector General’s Report’ confessing the multiple of sins that they committed, admitting to all that they have been a major tool of the left since their existence and then a vow to completely remake itself into a ‘honest to the core’ News Agency. Then they would need to fire all who work for them who vote Democrat and rehire fresh new blood from college who currently believe is less government (hard to find, I know). That done, they might just be able regain some of the respect that they’ve squandered.
