Angle: Republicans Have ‘Lost Their Standards’ and ‘Their Principles’

In private, Sharron Angle may be as bold and brash as she is in public. An audio recording has emerged of the Nevada GOP Senate candidate criticizing the Republican establishment during a meeting with third-part rival Scott Ashjian and his allies.

“The Republicans have lost their standards, they’ve lost their principles,” Angle said in a thirty-eight minute audio recording obtained by the Las Vegas Sun. “Really that’s why the machine in the Republican Party is fighting against me… They have never really gone along with lower taxes and less government.”

According to HuffPo, Angle goes on to make a biblical comparison:

“You gotta get my armor off and let me pick up this sling,” she said drawing a comparison between her fight and that of David and Goliath. “That’s exactly where I am right now, is trying to get them to leave me alone for long enough so I can get my sling and go after this guy. There are just these issues.”

Politico’s Ben Smith thinks the recording reveals a consistent message:

It suggests that — at least for the purposes of this conversation with a Tea Party figure — behind the facade of a real grassroots outsider who hates the organized Republican Party is … a real grassroots outsider who hates the organized Republican Party.

According to the Sun‘s John Ralston (who released the recording) the meeting was meant to convince Ashjian that unless he embraces and supports Angle’s candidacy, the Tea Party of Nevada contender could help Democratic incumbent Harry Reid win.

You can listen to the entire 38-minute recording here. As Ralston says, “It is a unique and quite entertaining fly-on-the-wall look inside a campaign.”

UPDATE:

Politico reports that Ashjian is the one who recorded the meeting and leaked it to Ralston so as to protect Ashjian if Angle “lied” about the meeting:

Ashjian told POLITICO that he secretly recorded his meeting with Angle to “give people the truth” in case she tried to lie about what happened during their encounter. He also took responsibility for giving the tape to Ralston, who did not reveal his source when he originally wrote about the recording.

“I gave it to him,” Ashjian said. “So they can’t continue to lie about me to the press.”

Interesting to note is that Ashjian believes recording the conversation without Angle’s knowledge is “100 percent legal.“ Yet Politico points out that ”Nevada is one of a dozen of states in which both parties must consent to being taped in order for a recording to be lawful.”

Good for you Sharon Angle! For indded both parties have been “sold down the river” by their respective polititans, to our consternation. But I am of the mind that the proof is in the pudding, I vote the “establishment” out, and should the “new” person be just like the ‘old’, then I will make them a “one” termer.
On a side issue, on progressive liberals: They have now intention of “redistributing” their wealth, it‘s yours’ and mine they want to give to “third world” nations. And just what would a person in lets say “Kenya” do with that sudden influx of your money? Their is no imfrastructure to build upon, no market place for ideas or to encourage business. However their is that “barrister” who will glady help the newly wealthy quadruple their wealth, but he requires a small retainer to begain the process. In other words, much like every other “social welfare” progrm, the cash ends up in the hands of thieves like Gyorgy Schwartz (George Soros) and the “suposed” “poor victim’s” just join the rest of the globe in a large scale enslavement. Saddly, being a Godless group, the far lefts rank and file don‘t and can’t see the inheirent danger in what their task masters plan truely is. The are blinded by ideology, and a basic “good” desire to help others. But they are led (much as the Republican party) are led by wicked hearted, control freeks. And to men such as these, gnostic thinking is the norm and the rule. This for of world “social justice” has been with us a very long time, but I leave it up to those who might doubt this to prove me wrong. For I can trace a 1567 year long trail of one group that has long sought to control the world, a organization that still pulls all the strings behind the scenes. Personally I despise conspiracy theroys, but this is conspiracy fact.

The republican party will lose, if they are unwilling to listen to the majority of republicans in the field. The party must change, for it to gain back anything. It is the same old story, Rove on Fox telling us that this division will cause the lose of seats in November, it is not the division that is causing this, it is the RNO’s that continue to bully all other clear thinking members of its party. The old establishment of republicans will kill this party, not us that are trying to change it. The republican old guard still picking our candidates, that stinks.

The GOP’S “Pledge to America” “as it could be and should be.”
The “Pledge to America” is not a complete solution to the problem of maintaining and strengthening the American Revolution. If implemented, it would simply maintain a disastrous “status quo,” and slow the increase in tyranny, but under new management.

It is simply not enough to just slow the advance of tyranny. If the American Revolution is to survive, the trend must be reversed. In 1913, the “wannabe tyrant”, Woodrow Wilson, summarized our plight. (WOODROW WILSON – “The New Freedom: A Call For the Emancipation of the Generous Energies of a People” – PUBLISHER BIBLIOBAZAAR ) He said:
“If the government is to tell big business men how to run their business, then don’t you see that big business men have to get closer to the government even than they are now? Don’t you see that they must capture the government, in order not to be restrained too much by it? Must capture the government? They have already captured it.”

Terminology has changed in the intervening 100 years. “Big Business,” today, would be called “Special Interest” or lobbyist; other than that the meaning of President Wilson is both clear and ominous. President Wilson’s quote confirms that the objective of the “Wannabe Peers” is to use the government’s monopoly on force for their personal benefit and the benefit of their political cronies at the expense and wellbeing of the general population.

Congress and the Bureaucracy continuously create new rules and regulations that favor the politically powerful over the general population (the individual or innovator). These statutes are made in anticipation of personal gain or political support with a total disregard for the economic consequences. This tyranny, continually expanding, is increasing the cost of everything we buy and inhibits innovation, the life blood of economic progress.

As grievous as the economic problems are, the economic problems cannot even be addressed until the tyrant’s ability to intimidate and punish political dissent is neutralized. Political dissenters must be protected from retaliation by the “Wannabe Peers” before any effective program to correct the oppression described by President Wilson is even practical.

The pledge to America that we really need:

    • Revise Congressional rules to prohibit legislation that pertains to more than one topic or issue. The text of the legislation may not exceed the number of words in the Constitution (including amendments.) All legislation, including an “Economic Impact Statement” must be released to the public for 72 hours before a Congressional vote.
    • A law that creates an “Independent Prosecutor” to investigate allegations of investigations and prosecution of political dissenters. The law would provide mandatory jail time for the perpetrator. The “Wannabe Peer” would have to make restitution for any cost and damages incurred by the victim. Once the allegation of political prosecution was made, the investigation against the victim would be halted until the “special prosecutor” makes a decision on indicting the “Wannabe Peer.”
    • Require an “Economic Impact Statement” on all rules, regulations and laws created by both Congress and the Bureaucracy, past and future. If we take Woodrow Wilson’s statement at face value, most of these restrictions were made to benefit “big business men” (special interest) at the expense of the general population. All regulations and rules that fulfill President Wilson’s prophesy should be rescinded. The “Economic Impact Statement” would be prepared by qualified economists and contain statements by those who have been or would be adversely affected by the action. The “Economic Impact Statement” would identify those who would profit from the legislation, those who would lose and the effect on the general economy.
    • Congressional approval of the “Economic Impact Statement” and the issue would be required to maintain or implement the law or regulation. Both the “Economic Impact Statement” and the Congressional vote on the approval would be available to the public.
    • Periodic review of all legislation will be required to ensure that the original “Economic Impact Statement” was accurate and the legislation is beneficial. Congressional approval of the revised “Economic Impact Statement” would be required or the law would be repealed.
    • Condemnation of the “Global Warming Scam” (or whatever they are calling it now) and investigate the perpetrators of the scam for fraud.
    • Convert the United State’s fossil fuel resources to reserves by creating a “Strategic Petroleum Production Authority” with the capacity to produce 75% of the world’s energy needs. Facilities to be limited to 5% of World Energy requirements except when the price of oil exceeds a “trigger price” determined by annual economic studies. Initial “trigger price” will probably be less than 20.00/barrel. For more details click on following link: http://commonsense21c.com/files/CE-1-5-09.pdf
    • Initiate a Congressional investigation into the extent of foreign control of the United States news media and foreign contributions to candidates for office. This might require an “Independent Counsel.”
    • Eliminate the conditions that make it attractive for illegal aliens to enter the country. Allow 90 days for those here illegally to return home. After 90 days, illegal aliens would be put into work camps with their wages, less expenses, placed in escrow. They will be deported as soon as the escrow account equals the cost of deportation and the taxes owed on their illegal earnings.
    • Revise immigration procedure to establish rigid quotas for immigration based upon the ability of the economy to absorb the new citizens. Establish requirements such that only desirable and productive individuals who can prove that they will have a means of livelihood will be approved. Those fluent in English and knowledgeable in United States History will be given the 1st priority. Those not fluent in English and history will be required to demonstrate an acceptable level of fluency in English and a knowledge of United States History within 2 years of entering the country. Those failing to demonstrate the English or history requirement must prove that an effort was made to comply and offer proof of a continuing effort to correct the deficiency. Date to show compliance will be established. All immigrants will swear to uphold and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States against any aggressors as long as they are residents of the United States. Those (and their immediate family) serving 3 years in the Military will be eligible for citizenship.
    • Equally enforce all laws of the United States, without regard to race, creed or color.
    • Protect the individual from the initiation of physical force, both foreign and domestic.
    What did I miss?

Then again, they may be more afraid of Angle coming in and screwing up all thier backroom deals, and lose thier #1 scapegoat in Reid.
