Angry Rangel Says He Doesn‘t Deal in ’Average American Citizens’

When Washington Times reporter Kerry Pickett confronted Charlie Rangel last night about whether he received a lighter punishment than an ordinary citizen would have if found guilty of the same charges, the censured Democrat made a startling admission: “I don’t deal in average American citizens.”

Here’s a transcript via Pickett’s blog:

REP. RANGEL: What is the question?

PICKET: I’m just asking what is your response to criticism that if the average American citizen. Someone who is not a congressman

REP. RANGEL:Please, I’m not a psychiatrist. I don’t deal in average American citizens. Citizens are diverse. They are broad. I don’t know what is average, and so I don’t really agree… I’ll come back to you when you think of a good question.

notice how he has to ask where shes from, THEN he belittles her question which was basically “ do you think you got off easier than a ”lowly“ average american ”taxpaying” citizen.” And for someone, responsible as mr rangel was, (for writing tax laws who then didnt follow those tax laws and knew EXACTLY what he was doing at all times) to blow off this question is the biggest slap in the face of the american public. this from a lawyer , who said he didnt have representation….well guess what charlie? the american people have no representation anymore either…just like your legal team which we helped to pay for, our representatives have stopped representing us. how does it feel chuck? your the quintessential “crooked politician” the writer of laws he doesnt have any interest in following. you should be getting your ^%#$#$$ repossesed by tghe irs which is what would happen to any one of us “average citizens”.

These dinosaurs are amazingly slow to react to the Re-founding.

He is engaged in a conversation from the 1990s and no one is listening. The power of the Federal Government is being stripped away and they don’t like it. Rangel (D – NY) is a scummy criminal like every other servant at the Federal level. He pretended to nobility, enriched himself and his friends and family and minions on the back of the American taxpayer and DID NOT uphold and defend the Constitution. He pissed on it.

He has committed crimes and does not pay for them. His peers applaud his depravity.

I am glad this sickening charade is collapsing.

as a Christian Conservative and supporter of Glenn who just happens to be black and who has never played the race card, I find your comments to be ignorant and racist. I don’t read all of the comments tied to each article, but this is the first time I’ve noticed such racist stupidity! I live in a state where a white, 80+ year old, ineffective state rep with questionable ethics, continues to be re-elected, but no one says it’s because whites have no sense of right and wrong. And remember, Obama would not have won if only blacks voted for him.

Go figure; if a business cheats the gov on sales taxes, a tax agent will tell you they cheated the public. If a politician cheats on his taxes, he‘s only charged with ’ethics” violations and given a scolding and then has the gall to excuse himself because he is above the common man.

Rangel needs to be reminded that no man that calls himself a servant can be above his master. Therefore, as a public servant, he should be under OUR laws, and also punishable by the same. A one year error may be valid; but seventeen is blatant and deliberate attempt to avoid paying his obligation.
As Joe “Big F-n’ Deal” Biden says, it’s patriotic to pay your taxes….. Well, Charles, are you no longer a patriot, or just a crook?
