Ann Coulter: I Would Prefer Ron Paul Over Newt Gingrich

Ann Coulter would prefer a President Ron Paul over a President Newt Gingrich, the conservative pundit said last week.
Coulter — who has made no secret of her dislike for the former House Speaker, calling him a “big government” conservative earlier this month – made her comments Dec. 15 on Fox News’ “Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld.”
“I would prefer Ron Paul as president to Newt Gingrich,” Coulter affirmed. “And what you say about Ron Paul is — I think, just to clarify — he’s fantastic on domestic policy. You just want to kind of keep him away from foreign policy, and in terms of foreign policy, doing nothing like Ron Paul wants to do is better than doing bad stuff like our president wants to do.”
Watch the clip below:
Coulter previously told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that Gingrich was tied with Paul as “the least conservative candidate on the stage,” but said Paul only earned the distinction because of his foreign policy.
Coulter was a major proponent of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie entering the GOP presidential race before ultimately endorsing former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

The Israeli government and the Vatican are deadlocked in discussions over the status of the religious sites. Vatican officials are now reiterating their demand for control over the religious sites in the ancient and holy city founded by King David as the capital of ancient Israel and now the capital of the reestablished Jewish state. this was reported in Israeli National New Arutz Sheva..So you see…it’s basically up to the Pope and the Vatican..If she is going to bring the religions of the world together..she created Islam..Now..she can use Islam to bring about A R M E G G D O N ..because that will happen eventually..one way or another..and the Vatican does control it..but guess what? God is in control of everything..so whatever happens will be because He willed it. There are 9 business days left until the primaries kick off, it’s over with people. :) 9 days left to listen to talk radio to get your talking orders to bash Ron Paul on newsletters everyone in the past here didn’t think was a big deal, but “Now that douche bag sitting in for Hannity says ‘go get Paul on the newsletters!’ we do.” Again, sorry, not enough time left. It takes a month to squash a new candidate and those candidates were all easy pickings. It‘s not going to work with the same old foreign policy arguments that do not work and it won’t work with the claims that Paul wrote a newsletter, that he did not write. Checkmate.

Posted on December 21, 2011 at 12:52amWhoever was the author of the Ron Paul newsletters, so far from what I have heard, nothing that has been presented as being racist has actually ended up being racist.
If anyone wants to pick the worst quote out of the newsletters for me, I‘m pretty sure I’ll be able to explain why it’s not racist.
Consider that if a group of people define their culture by the color of their skin, then that group can legitimately be referred to by the color of their skin, EVEN IF it is 100% known that the color of someone’s skin does not make them choose to belong to any given group.
So, for example, if I’m referring to the so-called “black community” as a group or the culture of that group, but for brevity’s sake I simply say “black people”, there is absolutely nothing racist about that. I realize that not ALL black people believe the same thing, but there is a GROUP OF black people who hold to the same ideology (er go, the use of the word “community”).
Now with this in mind, would someone please pick the most racist of the so-called racist comments out of the Ron Paul newsletters, and let me try to respond?

Congressman Ron Paul
U.S. House of Representatives
July 16, 2002
“Mr. Speaker, I rise to introduce the Free Housing Market Enhancement Act. This legislation restores a free market in housing by repealing special privileges for housing-related government sponsored enterprises (GSEs). These entities are the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie), the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie), and the National Home Loan Bank Board (HLBB). According to the Congressional Budget Office, the housing-related GSEs received $13.6 billion worth of indirect federal subsidies in fiscal year 2000 alone.
One of the major government privileges granted these GSEs is a line of credit to the United States Treasury. According to some estimates, the line of credit may be worth over $2 billion. This explicit promise by the Treasury to bail out these GSEs in times of economic difficulty helps them attract investors who are willing to settle for lower yields than they would demand in the absence of the subsidy. Thus, the line of credit distorts the allocation of capital. More importantly, the line of credit is a promise on behalf of the government to engage in a massive unconstitutional and immoral income transfer from working Americans to holders of GSE debt.
Report Post »Obeckian1984
Posted on December 21, 2011 at 7:47amThe Free Housing Market Enhancement Act also repeals the explicit grant of legal authority given to the Federal Reserve to purchase the debt of housing-related GSEs. GSEs are the only institutions besides the United States Treasury granted explicit statutory authority to monetize their debt through the Federal Reserve. This provision gives the GSEs a source of liquidity unavailable to their competitors.
Ironically, by transferring the risk of a widespread mortgage default, the government increases the likelihood of a painful crash in the housing market. This is because the special privileges of Fannie, Freddie, and HLBB have distorted the housing market by allowing them to attract capital they could not attract under pure market conditions. As a result, capital is diverted from its most productive use into housing. This reduces the efficacy of the entire market and thus reduces the standard of living of all Americans.
However, despite the long-term damage to the economy inflicted by the government’s interference in the housing market, the government’s policies of diverting capital to other uses creates a short-term boom in housing. Like all artificially-created bubbles, the boom in housing prices cannot last forever. When housing prices fall, homeowners will experience difficulty as their equity is wiped out. Furthermore, the holders of the mortgage debt will also have a loss. These losses will be greater than they would have otherwise been had government policy not

Perhaps the Federal Reserve can stave off the day of reckoning by purchasing GSE debt and pumping liquidity into the housing market, but this cannot hold off the inevitable drop in the housing market forever. In fact, postponing the necessary but painful market corrections will only deepen the inevitable fall. The more people invested in the market, the greater the effects across the economy when the bubble bursts.

Jews I am friends with are not hypocrites. You totally did the very thing you complain about making you one.
NEO-Con means “New Conservative” and was a term used by democrats for democrats who sided with Republicans to intervene in Vietnam. It is now used for the same purpose, for those who are for Government Intervention, whether be foreign or domestic.

Posted on December 21, 2011 at 2:01amThe issue of the Newsletters and Ron Paul are more relevant as Cain not telling his wife about helping out the last accuser, it goes to competency.
Eric Holder claimed he knew nothing about guns walking across the border.
The Partners at Arthur Anderson claimed they knew nothing about the accounting shenanigans going on over at ENRON. If the two examples above are telling the truth then they suck at their jobs as “Executives” if they did know and turned a blind eye, they are at best complicit at worst liars.
If RP did not know what was being written in his name and did not even check to see who was writing it, not once, not twice but over a period of years, he is a lousy executive at least on par with the now much smaller AA accounting firm.
This issue, much more so than someone’s private sex-life dealings, is a legitimate issue of discussion when you are looking to make someone the Chief Executor of the USA.

by Eric Olsen
To set the record straight, we libertarians do not believe Ron Paul is the answer to all our problems:
•He can not prevent individuals from making lifestyle decisions that cause heart disease or other problems that incur health care costs.
•He can not prevent men from running out on their families.
•He can not mandate motivation for the lazy.
•He can not force wise decisions upon the stupid.
•He can not force individuals to love their neighbors.
•He can not force children to respect their elders.
•He can not rectify man’s relationship with God.
Ron Paul is not the answer to all our problems.

Posted on December 20, 2011 at 7:57pm@PENDRAGON Seriously? NeoCon is not a word intended against Jews. I’ve never heard that before.
Newsmax: What should our relationship be with Israel?
Paul: We should be their friend and their trading partner. They are a democracy and we share many values with them. But we should not be their master. We should not dictate where their borders will be nor should we have veto power over their foreign policy.
Paul agrees with the original foreign policy Bush promoted when he was running for President: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9SOVzMV2bc
Of course, once in Office, Bush changed his foreign policy to a leftist one:
Huge Conservative Bill Buckley explains in an interview:
WILL: Today, we have a very different kind of foreign policy. It’s called Wilsonian. And the premise of the Bush Doctrine is that America must spread democracy, because our national security depends upon it. And America can spread democracy. It knows how. It can engage in national building. This is conservative or not?
BUCKLEY: It’s not at all conservative. It’s anything but conservative. It’s not conservative at all, inasmuch as conservatism doesn’t invite unnecessary challenges. It insists on coming to terms with the world as it is …”
Report Post »colt1860
Posted on December 20, 2011 at 8:05pmThe interview continues:
Will then noted the radical transformation the right underwent during the Bush era: “But something odd is happening in conservatism. And we have a president and an administration that clearly is conservative, accepted as that. Yet it is nation-building in the Middle East. And conservatism seems to be saying government can’t run Amtrak, but it can run the Middle East.”
Will outlines an obviously un-conservative premise of the Bush-era right. Buckley would go on to denounce Bush as not a real conservative and, as early as 2004, would admit concerning Iraq: “If I knew then what I know now about what kind of situation we would be in, I would have opposed the war.”
Both Will and Buckley initially supported the Iraq War, believing as many Americans did that Saddam Hussein posed a threat to the United States. After this turned out to be false, Will and Buckley expressed regret for their former position. Today, Will is one of the fiercest critics of our decade-long intervention in Afghanistan.
Read more: http://dailycaller.com/2011/08/25/was-bill-buckley-a-foreign-policy-leftist/
Please, putting America, my own Nation, above every other Nation, does not make me anti-Semitic. What I seek for in a foreign policy is the use of Constitutional means, the Rule of Law, and Reason, to go after our enemies and to help out our allies. I will not destroy my own nation to save or destroy another. Sorry. That is patriotism.

Posted on December 20, 2011 at 5:42pmThe reason he hasn’t “accomplished” anything is because he doesn’t have the numbers to vote with him. And it depends on how you define an accomplishment. They say the same thing about Michele Bachmann, that she hasn’t accomplished anythign. BS. Bachmann accomplished plenty to unite the country behind repeal of Obamacare and cutting the size of government. You‘re going to blame her because Nancy Pelosi wouldn’t bring her legislation up for a vote? What stupid logic. And with Dr. Paul it’s the same thing. He’s achieved plenty by waking up people like me to the evils of the Federal Reserve and the Patriot Act. Legislation and passing stupid laws isn’t an accomplishment to me. Doing good for the country IS an accomplishment. Has Obama accomplished anything? Only if you consider passing unconstitutional laws an accomplishment. In my mind he hasn’t accomplished anything unless his goal is the destruction of the country.
President Ron Paul would accomplish plenty. For instance, he would send a balanced budget to congress by year 3. If they don’t approve it and insist on continued spending, he would have the balls to let the government shut down until they acquiesce. He has more courage in his little finger than Boehner has in his entire body. He would use his bully pulpit to push a lot of good stuff through. By the time November 2012 rolls around, no one will have a doubt what Paul intends to do, so a vote for him is a vote for his policies.

“The four-year graduation rate for high schoolers was 87.2 % in 2009. The state has the third highest graduation rate in the nation. Iowa continually ranks in the top 3 for ACT and SAT scores. In 2009, Iowa ranked top in the nation for average SAT scores per student and second in the nation for average ACT scores per student. Iowa has 365 school districts, and has the twelfth best student to teacher ratio of 13.8 students per teacher.” Wikipedia.

Posted on December 20, 2011 at 6:08pmRon Paul is not popular with the power brokers among the Democrats, Republicans, and media. Ron Paul’s vision is for Americans to take back the freedom we lost by decades of mismangement and corruption from the powers that be. He is for taking care of our own FIRST instead of wasting our money, resources, and time on nation building in other countries. Let’s face it, our nation can regain greatness it once enjoyed if we have a president who has our best interests, as a people and a nation, as his top priority.
Report Post »As far as foreign policy goes, he would have the greatest military machine on this planet to take care of any immediate threat. If Iran sends a nuke our way, we will send a hundred times more their way. This goes for any nation who have dreams of conquering or destroying us.

Absolutely right on the money. Any person that’s for minimum government, reduction of debt, state sovereignty, the ending of unjustifiable warfare, and the abolishing of the privately owned Federal Reserve and the returning of the Gold Standard would be seriously wise in voting for Ron Paul. He has never wavered from his message about liberty unlike the neo-conservative presidential candidates that simply want to implement their own versions of big government.

Posted on December 20, 2011 at 5:01pmNo offense, but Pee Wee Herman would be better then the republican hopefuls, as they aren’t too hopeful. As a republican, we have little to choose from. It’s a dang shame as there are some worthy people in this country that should be running, and NOT! I don’t feel Ron Paul is up on foreign policies as he should be. What kind of business may is he? Even after the debates, I know very little about the man, and from what I’ve viewed none of the candidates are worthy of bringing this country back to where it belongs. Took Obama three short years to bring it to it‘s financial needs and he’s off taking one of the most expensive vacations in Hawaii at our expense. Why dosen’t someone discuss this?

Spot on!
Ron Paul is fantastic only at getting re-elected year after year after year…
Paul would legalize drugs. That’s domestic policy, and that alone is morally wrong. Like gay marriage, it attacks the very fiber of our social structure. The man is a neo-lib who calls himself libertarian and uses the Republican Party for his ends. How politically shrewd!
P.S. Why was your comment moved down, and all replies to you as well? Maybe it was too incisive?

Posted on December 20, 2011 at 7:07pmThe truth is that Paul, in all his presidential campaigns, has never once picked up even one electoral vote. No electoral votes in 23yrs of campaigning!
Just because the idiots in his district keep voting for him, does not mean he he will ever convince the rest of the country to vote for him. I know I won’t!

Posted on December 20, 2011 at 7:37pmOh come on. It’s immoral to lie. There’s a difference between wanting drugs and gay marriage legalized and deferring that decision to the states where it was intended. He believes people are capable of making their own decisions and pay the consequences for their bad decisions. Try listening to him instead of the people in the media, or at least verify the rumors you’re spreading.

I actually applaud Ann Coulter as she at least was not so prideful and arrogant that she couldn’t acknowledge that Dr. Paul is dead on right on domestic policy. I agree with his foreign policy as well, but even if conservatives don’t agree with his foreign policy, we must acknowledge that our greatest threat right now is not from Iran, but from our domestic woes to which Dr. Paul is hands down the best qualified candidate to handle. Why don’t we all give Dr. Paul 4 years to hack away at the size of government and then in 4 years, all the republicans get get right back to bombing others. Too bad that moron Hannity‘s head is too big to actually think logically about Ron Paul’s positions.

They might have the capability to threaten Israel, but Israel has their own army, and they aren’t shy about using it when they feel threatened. What all those guys are really scare of is that the rest of us might stop being scared, and then we could balance the budget by not spending more on defense than the whole rest of the world put together.

Posted on December 20, 2011 at 4:46pmThe irony with Ron Paul’s support among the general population is that the left loves his stances on foreign policy, are generally “eh…” with his social policy (which is basically “leave it up to the states”) and horrified at his fiscal policy. Most GOP voters love his fiscal policy, are either “eh” or horrified at his social policy (because he says if a state wants gay marriage and abortion, let them do it), and terrified of his foreign policy.
The end result usually ends up that people universally pan him, as opposed to saying “Actually, this guy has enough support across the entire population that he might actually work well.” Hopefully people realize that soon.
As of last night he was the front-runner in the Iowa straw polls, leading Romney by 2%.
