Ann Coulter has never been known for spewing incessant niceties. The famed conservative political commentator is an outspoken voice in the conservative movement and she isn’t afraid to offend nor is she coy when it comes to disagreeing with her fellow talking heads.

In an interview on Monday night with FOX News’ Bill O’Reilly, Coulter doubled down on her belief that Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) should not be the 2012 vice-presidential candidate.

Following Rubio’s endorsement of GOP front-runner Mitt Romney and speculation that he may, indeed, be among candidates being considered for the vice-presidential slot, Coulter had some advice for the Florida politician. In a back-and-forth with O’Reilly, she said that Rubio should “keep doing what he’s doing.” Rather than seeking an executive-level spot, Coulter believes it would be prudent for the senator to wait eight years to run for president himself.

Ann Coulter: Marco Rubio Shouldnt Be Vice President in 2012 | Bill OReillyIn addition to claiming that she doesn’t believe 2012 is an appropriate year for Rubio to seek nation’s second-in-command spot, Coulter reiterated her belief that Romney will win in November. Additionally, she said that the presidential candidate doesn’t need Rubio to take Florida.

Coulter and O’Reilly disagreed over Rubio’s usefulness as a Hispanic candidate running on the Republican ticket. While O’Reilly seems to believe he would be a benefit to the party, Coulter stated her stance against putting Rubio up simply because of his Cuban background.

“If we’re only picking Rubio because he’s a Hispanic, I’m just opposed to that on principle,” Coulter said. “The pandering…any Hispanic who’s going to vote for a ticket just because there’s a Hispanic on the ticket isn’t going to vote for a Republican anyway.”

While some may take these comments to mean that the commentator doesn’t particularly like Rubio, she claims this isn’t the case and that she “loves” the politician. However, his youth is a major factor that seems to play into her statements against his vice-presidential consideration.

Instead, Coulter explains that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie or Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl would be better options in 2012.

    Hillibilly Clinton was naimed after Sir Hillary, when she was born before he was anywhere near a mountain. Rubio’s parents wer LEGAL but NOT citizens, until 5yrs after the birth of their son. This makes him a legal-citizen from birth but not a naturalborn…although he was born HERE… UNLIKE OUR POTUS, who’s father was never a citizen of our country. Oh don’t read the evidence-overwhelming…before you do an election.

      WE just elected a president for the same reason, he‘s ’black’ (or ‘claims’ he ‘is’ depending on his political motivation at the moment), three years ago and you can see how that worked out.

      Electing someone for purely racist reasons or apologist reasons (white guilt) “IS” stupid. And this POTUS has proved that with a clarity that couldn’t have been orchestrated by design any better.

      Rubio ‘IS’ a very astute politician. But, he’s also not a natural born citizen. And if we are ever going to get past the stench of this debacle we have to adhere to Constitutional requisites. Or we flush the entire thing, right down the crapper. Once the “precedent” has been established the SCOTUS WILL pull the handle.

      And you can bet your last dollar, they can’t wait to do just that.

      G-Whiz, you are exactly on point. Rubio was born on American soil and therefore, like even the children born to illegal aliens, is a citizen of the United States.
      The constitution makes a distinction in regard to ‘citizen’ and ‘natural born citizen’. And that distinction does not apply to any elected official but to the president and by attachment the vice-president who is the direct heir to the highest office in the land should the president die while in office.
      How can the American people condemn a non-natural born who sits in the White House now yet they are prepared to replace him with a candidate, who himself is not natural born, for vice-president bewilders me?
      I love Rubio but am not about to ignore the foundation of the constitution so that my nations basic tenet of law can once again be ignored. I am not about to offer a wink and a prayer as did so many who placed Obama in office.

      I lost alot of respect for Ann.I will never buy another book from her she gets out their Talkes the talk then supports ROMney a fake is a fake same with Glenn support for SANTORUM the I am conservitive except when I am not that is Santorum.I will vote for who0mever is the Rino party canidate and pray the congress will push him in the direction to save our country.Conservitive means what it means not to be used just to get elected Romney Santorum GIngrich all three are not .

      We are so set up with these elections and we think our vote really matters. “The chosen one” was chosen 6 years ago because it is his turn.

      Now we are being told who our Vice is going to be. “The big one” will eat us out of White House and home.

      The Immigration and Naturalization Act, Section 301 gives definitions of who is and who is not a natural born citizen. According to this law, both Obama and Rubio are natural born citizens. Why do people constantly ignore the law to make some political point?

      To those who say a natural-born citizen and citizen by birth are the same thing, they are not. There are at least three types of citizens, natural-born, native-born, and naturalized. Naturalized are those who immigrated to the United States, applied for and received citizenship status. Native-born are those born within the jurisdiction of the United States. Natural-born are those born within the jurisdiction of the United States of *parents* (plural) not owing allegiance to any foreign sovereignty. It is defined in “The Law of Nations” which is one of the many things the founding fathers used in crafting the US Constitution. “The Law of Nations” also indicates a child inherits the citizenship of the father.

      These definitions were recognized globally for many centuries. Sometimes people don’t define the definition of something when it is common knowledge. Study history.

    NEWS FLASH!! Ann Coulter makes comment on non-issue. * yawn * I got to meet Rubio when he gave a speech during a brief visit to our technology center here in N. Florida during his campaign for his seat. I‘ve met plenty of other politicians at state and federal levels and you feel you’re talking to a campaign speech robot. Rubio was engaging, not in a hurry, and talking with him you felt like you were having a conversation. I’m reminded of the Cheney vs. Lieberman debate in 2000. When asked a question, Cheney would look at Bernard Shaw and give an answer, a real answer, to the question. When Lieberman would answer he’d turn to the camera and give a political speech. Rubio is real and not caught up in handing and taking political acting lessons. Whether he gets the nod or not he’s suited for the job and would probably upstage Romney without even trying.

    I used to really like A.C. and read her column and enjoyed seeing her on Hannity. But she’s become a blow-hard. It’s one thing to be a pundit and comment, in an informed way, on the issue under debate. It‘s another to approach it as if you’re convinced you’re the smartest person in the room.

      Coulter has been spot on this entire nomination process (minus Christie)…I love Rubio and he’s the best guy imo for VP but choosing a guy because of his ethnicity is just wrong…if we did that, we’d be no better than the libs.

For that matter neither is Bobby Jindal and for that matter neither is Barack Hussein Obama.       To Chet, Lillly*, RJL,..Wheezencrackers, If you haven‘t read the Constitution and other Founding Fathers’ books, or referred to the Supreme Court Case that defined a “Natural-born Citizen” as a baby born on U.S. property to two U.S. citizens, then you don’t know the difference between a citizen by birth or a “natural-born citizen.” There is a distinct difference, and only a natural-born citizen is eligible to be our President or Vice-President.

      Just because you say there is no difference doesn’t make it so. Don’t believe everything you hear or read and say you know better. Do some research! Obama is not eligible for President in many ways, and he has broken so many Constitutional laws, he couldn’t be arrested by U.S. Marshalls and jailed any time, just like Holder. His father was a Kenyon-born British citizen, his step-father was an Indonesian citizen who also made Obama one with the name of Barry Soetoro and sent him to a Muslim school besides making it possible for him to get an Indonesian passport to countries who wouldn’t allow Americans. He was a foreign student in U.S. colleges, and more evidence than you can count that he was not born in Hawaii, used a fraudulent Soc. Sec. card and enlistment card.

      So Marco Rubio isn’t eligible either, nor is any other candidate who is not a natural-born citizen.

    This is for a plethora of posters on this subject:

    1. I was a former fan of Ann Coulter, but she has lost her credibility because she features herself to be a “kingmaker”, she is arrogant, vain, and sounds like a broken record. I’ll be interested to see if her next book sells as well as prior writings.

    2. Mitt Romney IS a conservative capitalist. His personal, business, and government life is evidence of that (you can’t govern Massachusetts in the same way you govern Georgia or Texas). Everyone has made a mistake in their past so remember that “first stone” verse from the Bible.

    3. For those of you who don’t think Marco Rubio is a natural born citizen, PLEASE read the 14th Amendment. He was born in the United States of parents who were here legally so he IS a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN – case closed.

    I would advise many of you to heed the words of Abraham Lincoln when he said ,,,,,,,,,

      You need to pay attention to the 14th amendment that you quote:
      All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

      This amendment clarifies citizenship, not natural born status, which is a requirement to be President.

      In light of this, it would be advisable to be more careful about calling Ann or anyone else arrogant and vain, because your Lincoln quote at the end places you in the same category.

      HELLO? HAVE YOU EVER DONE ANY RESEARCH? A natural born citizen is a person that is born of TWO UNITED STATES CITIZENS. Rubios parents where living here legally BUT WERE NOT CITIZEN OF THE USA. Therefore he is NOT a natural born citizen.

      1 parent citizen 1 parent not = citizen
      both parents not citizen = citizen
      both parents citizens = natural born citizen

      Just because someone legally lives in this country does not make them citizens. Rubio‘s parents were legally living here but did not apply for citizenship until AFTER Rubio’s birth. Making Rubio a citizen of the USA AND a citizen of Cuba at his birth.

      @Capnbrit – you are spot on, the Obots have attempted to use this 14th amendment as their defense for Obama being eligible and they have been slammed at every turn. It Capnbrit was right Congress would have never attempted to change the Constitutional requirement 8 times since 2003. Congress knows full well what the requirement is and they want it changed. Thank God each one of those bills failed.

    A few weeks ago Allen West said he is ready to take any position to help this country, he is tough, smart and can do the job as vice president. President would have been better for him.

If he cannot take a stand against a corrupt and criminal White House how can we trust him to take a tough stand against ANY corruption. He will not defend the Constitution in this instance what makes you think he won’t cave on other Constitutional issues that may arise in the future.     I agree 100% with Coulter about Romney, however, I don’t share her love of Chris Christie. Christie is just another smart-arse like Obama, and he really has done NOTHING except stand up for the Muslims and the mosque near Ground Zero. Rubio is fantastic, and would make a great VP for Romney, but not because he is Hispanic, but because he understands the American Spirit.

      That act was repealed after about 4 years, the 14th amendment is, according to article VI, the “supreme law of the land”, Joseph Farah is, and always had been an idiot when it somes to Constitutional history and law.       Kid, while I totally agree with your assessment, do you not see what a Rubio vice-presidential pick would do for Obama and the further dismantling of our Constitution? As it stands now, the birth certificate Obama smugly pulled out in the dance with Trump, definitively evidences that Obama is NOT a natural born citizen (please, readers, that has nothing to do with where he was born, it has to do with how he “naturally” came to be a person). Should the Republican Establishment throw Rubio in the mix as the vice-presidential choice, all they are doing is bolstering the unConstitutionality of the current White House Occupier.

      Please tell me where the VP or P are mentioned in Section 6. That describes the legislative branch, not the executive. Joseph Farah is correct here. He does not meet the natural born citizen requirement if he were to become President- which is the purpose of having a Vice President.

      I love Rubio. But it is what it is. His Father was not a US Citizen when he was born. Just like Obama’s. But all is not lost. Allen West would fit the bill nicely.

      The Act of 1790 was superseded by the Naturalization Act of 1795, which extended the residence requirement to five years.

      Major changes to the definition of citizenship were ratified in the nineteenth century following the American Civil War. The Fourteenth Amendment in 1868 granted citizenship to people born within the United States regardless of their parents’ race, citizenship, or place of birth, but it excluded untaxed Indians (those living on reservations). The Naturalization Act of 1870 extended “the naturalization laws” to “aliens of African nativity and to persons of African descent

      So you see you are incorrect. The 14th amendment changed NOTHING referring to NATURAL BORN CITIZENS. Only naturalized citizens. Totally different things.

      People gotta read and learn BEFORE they speak.

    The Right is making a HUGE and FATAL mistake by trying to court the hispanic vote. It‘s led to massive stupidity where the Right refuses to protest illegal immigration because they don’t want to alienate hispanic voters. But it isn’t working.

    McCain is one of the most “liberal” Republicans in the country and was very, very soft on resisting illegal immigration. And hispanics rewarded him for it by coming out in droves to vote for Obama in 2008.

    You politically correct right-wing idiots who are practicing wishful thinking in believing that we can convince hispanics to vote Right because “they’re naturally socially conservative” is a dangerous fantasy that’s going to totally backfire.

    All you’re accomplishing by courting the hispanic vote is allowing more and more of them to flood our country until they become the new racial majority – as they’re projected to do by no later than 2050.

    That will be the END of the Republican Party and America frankly.

    Stop pandering to hispanics and blacks! It doesn’t work!

    Come to grips with the reality that pretty much only Whites vote Republican and center your political strategy around that fact!

    The only racial groups we have a small hope of slowly converting to the Right are East Asians and Jews since they aren’t lower class “gimme government handouts” ethnic groups.

      Don’t let the stars get in your eyes..don’t let the moon break your heart…It appears Ann has a “special fellow” in her life and probably a smoker like Ann and they smoke the same brand(Chesterfields/Marlboros) and it was love at first sight! Just kidding…she has beautiful hair, never have bought or read any of her books..she has a great sense of humor and like her antics on subjects. I do disagree with what she said about using the word “we”…”if we’re only picking”….I listen to what is coming out of a person’s mouth & if the words flow & there is a hint/boldness of the words..then the words come from the heart. Marco is young, but HE KNOWS America is in trouble and he wants a future for his family & this nation free from tyranny. I don’t care if he is orange in color, he IS SINCERE and I would support him as VP in a heart-beat. We are a country of LAWS. Illegals are illegals. Marco knows that and I trust him to come-up with solutions about the current illegals and the laws on the books already.Romney would be better than Obama. After today, Romney probably a winner, the other 3 need to re-think their future. The current admin. is ready for a junk-yard-dog fight and I pray for Romney that he is ready for this “back-alley-fight”. It is going to be nasty! Paul Ryan & Marco Rubio = New&Improved GOP!

    I am about as conservative as they come, but she has got to go. She gives the Dems cannon-fodder for their attacks. She is uppity and arrogant. As my mother would say…”she acts like her stuff don’t stink.”

    The most admirable thing about Anne, among her many admirable qualities, is her courage.
    She has been standing and facing the far left, often, totally alone, for more years than most of the commentors on this site have even known about it.
    She’s right about Rubio. Despite his own impressive qualities, he is more effective right where he is, building the experience he will need to be a presidential candidate himself one day.
    And picking someone because of their cultural identity is like picking someone for their colour. We all know where that leads.

    Rubio WILL NOT be the VP running mate. He’s a climber. Running with a RINO means he’ll get dragged thru the mud, with no ultimate upside, because Romney is not going to beat Obama. Why run with a loser?

    Few republicans have ever lost an election when they run on a very “conservative” platform. Too bad Romney can’t figure this out, or simply isn’t conservative.

    Nah, Rubio’s not going to be a part of this debacle and end up with mud on his face like Palin.

    Sorry to be off topic and/or sound like a troll (not really), but Ann coulter looks like she would be a great character for the up and coming movie MIB III as one of the aliens that disguises themselves as a human. Did they fill all the roles yet?

    On a more serious note, we all know that Ann has something for Christie and it is no surprise that she said his name. She does have a point though we should not elect and/or vote for people simply because of their race or ethnic background. We should vote for people that fall in line with ones values and what is best for the country.

    when he was born, his parents were not citizens at the time of his birth , thus, just like obama, HE IS NOT A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN

    congressman is the highest office he can LEGALLY obtain

    now, if his son, in the future wanted to run for office, he would , under the constitution, be eligible

    not really a difficult concept to grasp

      obamas daddy was not

      to be a natural born citizen, BOTH parents MUST be citizens at the time of childs birth

      the fact that his mommy was a citizen only qualifies him for status as CITIZEN, and for any other reason, that would be enough

      but,,,,,, the office of PRESIDENT has a constitutional REQUIREMENT for applicants to be NATURAL BORN CITIZENS, not just a citizen

      it really is a simple concept ……………………….

      The definition of natural-born citizen approved by the first U.S. Congress can be seen in the Naturalization Act of 1790, which regarded it as a child born of two American parents. The law, specifying that a natural-born citizen need not be born on U.S. soil, stated:

      “The children of CITIZENS (plural, meaning two) of the United States, that may be born beyond sea, or out of the limits of the United States shall be considered as NATUAL BORN CITIZENS: Provided, that the right of citizenship shall not descend to persons whose fathers have never been resident in the United States.”

      The Act of 1790 was superseded by the Naturalization Act of 1795, which extended the residence requirement to five years.

      Major changes to the definition of citizenship (BUT NOT NATURAL BORN) were ratified in the nineteenth century following the American Civil War. The Fourteenth Amendment in 1868 granted citizenship to people born within the United States regardless of their parents’ race, citizenship, or place of birth, but it excluded untaxed Indians (those living on reservations). The Naturalization Act of 1870 extended “the naturalization laws” to “aliens of African nativity and to persons of African descent

      The 14th amendment changed NOTHING referring to NATURAL BORN CITIZENS. Only naturalized citizens. Totally different things. As is LAW BOTH parents MUST BE CITIZENS AT THE TIME OF THE BIRTH OF THE CHILD IN ORDER 4 THAT CHILD 2 BE

      The Naturalization Act doesn’t say anything about people born IN this country, but the Supreme Court and the Congress have. They both say that they are all natural born citizens , no matter who their parents are. That’s been the law of the land for over a century, live with it.

      There is NOTHING ANYWHERE that states that ALL people born in the USA are natural born citizens. There is nothing in the Constitution that says that and the SCOTUS has never rendered such a decision. I CHALLENGE YOU TO PROVE ME WRONG. Words are just that words. PROVE IT.

      III. The same rule was in force in all the English colonies upon this continent down to the time of the Declaration of Independence, and in the United States afterwards, and continued to prevail under the constitution as originally established.”

      That’s the Supreme Court from the 1898 US v Wong Kim Ark in which they ruled that anyone born here is a citizen by birth, which is the exact same thing as a natural born citizen, as indicated by their use of the phrase “natural born.” Now you show me any law or court decision that says that anyone born here is NOT a natural born citizen. You can’t, because there’s no such thing.
