Ann Coulter Tears Into Gingrich: ‘Least Conservative, Least Electable’

Conservative pundit Ann Coulter sat down with “Fox and Friends” Sunday morning and gave her own scathing take on Newt Gingrich‘s big win over Mitt Romney in the South Carolina primary.
Coulter let it rip from the top of the segment, leading off with “Apparently, South Carolinians would rather have the emotional satisfaction of a snotty remark toward the president than to beat Obama in the fall.”
She didn’t stop there. Coulter continued on to make the case that Gingrich is the “least conservative, least electable” candidate who draws his support from the desire of the right wing to hear Obama get called a socialist.
Mediaite transcribed Coulter’s comments as follows:
“This is not going to be the electorate in the fall. I am pretty sure we’ll get everyone who voted for John McCain, since no one voted for John McCain, because we liked McCain, it was to stop Obama. We have those voters and now you have to get people who voted for Obama and having a candidate who calls Obama a Kenyan colonialist or socialist, that is not what you need, and at the same time, with Newt Gingrich you get the name calling for the president, very popular with the tea party crowd, not so popular with independents, and, he won’t put a fence on the border but wants amnesty for illegals and took 1.6 million from Freddie Mac and he attacked Paul Ryan’s plan on Social Security and with Newt Gingrich you throw out the baby and keep the bath water!”
Below is the clip of Coulter’s fiery comments, courtesy of Fox and Friends:

Posted on January 23, 2012 at 12:28pmAnn really does understand conservativeness. Newt is not a conservative, but a Progressive. Maybe some of you need to look a little closer at what conservative is. We will be on the same road if Newt is elected. Even if you do not like Mitt, you have to understand that he can and is the only one that can get the economy on the right track. This is what we need right now. His record in business is to help companies that are failing. He has turned so many around and made them successful. Yes, in order to do this some people have been hurt, but more have been helped. This is part of the process. There are going to be some government jobs that will be lost, some will be hurt, but more will benefit and this is part of the process. Mitt took the failing Olympic program and made it a success. He has made many failing businesses a success. He is good at it and we need his help.

You Newt supporters, do you even realize what you’re saying? Newt is for nationalized healthcare, he made a tv commercial with pelosi only a few years ago, he called himself “a wilsonian real politique” referring to Woodrow Wilson, another liberal progressive! And he called FDR possibly the greatest president ever!!

Posted on January 23, 2012 at 1:26pmYeah, I never thought it would happen, but Glenn really turned me off with his rhetoric today. He has come unhinged after Newt’s victory in SC. I listened to Rush’s monologue today at noon. He has a much better grasp on why Newt won. Also, Rush is not in a panic over it like Glenn. I urge others to read the transcript from Limbaugh’s first hour. It was the most insightful analysis I have heard so far on the current conflagration in the Republican party. Unlike Beck’s show today, which was 3 hours of non stop ridicule, Rush actually tries to offer insight into the mindset of people like myself, who have had enough of the Republican establishment.
Report Post »I don’t get it Glenn. You bash nearly every candidate, but you won’t tell the truth about who you really want to get the nod (Romney the fellow Mormon.) Snap out of it Mr. Beck, or you are going to start loosing a lot of us.

Posted on January 23, 2012 at 1:33pmI am starting to wonder about Rush anymore. He seems to let his years the media beating up on him dictate his feelings. Of course, this is what his show is about. I agree with Ann 100%, your talking another McCain election if Newt gets in there, only worse. Yes, people hate Obama, the ones who voted for him and are reconsidering are the very same ones who hate Newt even more. He is a politician to max, saying everything you want to hear, ignoring the fact’s about what he actually tried to implement while in power. Rush acts like the establishment is out against Newt, which they may be, but not for the reasons that he suggests. The man seriously doesn’t agree with the constitution, believes it is outdated, which is nothing new, that is, if your a LIBERAL INTELLECTUAL ELITE. Which is what blows my mind about Rush. He is one of these guys, like me, who can’t stand the intellectual policy making. That is, policy based upon research and studies. The same way the left is able to make an argument, then dig up the data and research to back, makes it very hard to deny them. The fact the data is biased doesn’t matter. Now, we have a RINO doing it, buffaloing an entire state into believing he is their man, their fighter, not just another intellectual elite. Somehow, this whole Tea Party thing has gone full circle, and we are right back where we started. Same professional politician, not a public servant, but pretending he is public servant. Posted on January 23, 2012 at 2:07pmI support Romney, I have since last election cycle, so I have vetted him well. The whole flip-flop crap was created by the liberal media and you all bought into it. The reasons are many, but my primary reason is I want an honest man. One who can remain dedicated to his family, particularly his wife, who had MS and he didn’t leave of the next best thing as Newt did. He is so insecure, he must have a woman in order to reassure himself, his wives have acknowledged this. Yes, Romney isn’t the night in shining armor, however, he isn’t going to destroy our country any further. He will shrink the government and know how to get the economy to start moving again. What is Newt going to do for the economy ? He has no idea, he says whatever is popular with the right. The man is a progressive through and through. You may believe Romney is bought, but I will beg to differ. They couldn’t buy him last election, this is why he didn’t win. The same people who are responsible for funding McCains rebound last election, are those in Newts Super PAC. They couldn‘t buy Romney then and couldn’t this time either. The men in this Super PAC don’t care what party they support, they buy politicians to get what they want. Not just here, but abroad. Which is what Newt has learned to do with his Center for Health Transformation. Company’s pay money to have access to the speaker to help mold policy. My mother is jobless right now because of Newt and his “I am so smart” idea on a gov. health care p

Just like any progressive program, what looks good on paper and seems like the perfect answer, this contract cost the company 23 million, sending them into near bankruptcy. They should have gotten out after the 1st year was an obvious disaster, but Newts company assured them this would change as they got everything established. WRONG. 600 employees and two offices later, Newt is singing the exact same song. This was long before Obamcare and Romneycare.
Report Post »Newt discounts the constitution as outdated, like all progressives do. Instead he pushed a book called “The Third Wave” on the new congressman he was recruiting. All the while he makes Time magazine as the man of year, touted as an “Internationalist”. He embraces the UN and is a member of the Council on Foreign Policy, if you know what that is.The man campaigned for Nelson Rockefeller, Voted to ensure we got the department of education, voted in support of the illegal land grab in Alaska, now marked for conservation and the reason we can’t drill there. The single largest tax increase happened while Newt was leader, his own word only he blamed it on Clinton. So much more about this Prog.~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nq4lde9wg

It is you people who ruined the last election and brought us Obama. The Mormons faith is more about family and service work than all your sects put together. Not to mention, your paid leaders, Mormon leaders are not paid, it is called service. They don’t have their decisions and policies based upon Joe Shmo who is donating 10,000 to the church monthly and has a bug up his butt. The preacher/priest/reverend, whatever you call him may not want to do what Joe says, but Joe threatens to go to a different church and the pastor knows he needs paid, the mortgage, utilities and countless other programs need paid, so he changes or implements policy. Besides, Newt is a Catholic, the faith of my upbringing. I love Catholics just the same, but according to your bigoted standards, there is a great deal that wouldn’t line up with your faith. Not to mention, if Newt really is sorry about his leaving his wives twice while they were ill, and is truly dedicated to his religion, wouldn’t the Pope have some influence over him ? The Mormons stay out of politics. The only time EVER was recently in the whole gay marriage thing in California. Something was only regional. I been at the Mormon church during elections, the policy is not to take a side. Glenn has consistently stated his reservations, deep ones, regarding Mitt Romney.
Glenn has overwhelmingly shared his knowledge and fears regarding progressives, even so far as to point out the most dangerous presidents in US history because of their commitment to Progressive principles, which are in a “nutshell” : The self labeled Intellectual elite believe that peon average joe citizens have too much power with their votes and opinions and so build ways and means to get around the necessity of currying their favor, while at the same time implementing centrally managed Governmental controls over increasingly private aspects of the “voters” lives. For a progressive, the Government and the power it must have, is the source of solutions that work for everyone – except for anomalies, which of course, which will have to be removed. The Axis of evil presidents includes: Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, FDR, and even Andrew Jackson.
Gingrich has consistently shown his deep and abiding respect for who? Oh yeah, these very presidents!
So Glenn is obviously in bed with Romney because of their shared religious beliefs, because he shows no respect for the next Big Government Answer: Newt Gingrich?

Posted on January 23, 2012 at 1:11pmI saw a hilarous cartoon on Coulter on Fox no less.
Brian (white dog) walked over the the refrigerator to get a drink or something and the refrigerator was Ann Coulter sitting on a counter. When she opened her legs, a light went on between her legs, and Brian pretended to reach in take something out, then she closed her legs when he left.
I don’t understand why Fox allows these shows to do this to ANY WOMAN, but it is obvious the liberals writing the materials don’t know that Ann Coulter switched sides or they would never do this to liberal woman. . It was funny.

My personal opion of Newt is that he is a brilliant strategist and all those remarks made in the past that make Anne so upset was very intentional by Newt. Also if she is so quick to pick on Newt about past flubups what about Romey – don’t trust the guy at all not to mention is religous background something that my family has personal dealings with.

Posted on January 23, 2012 at 9:40pmI agree. Newt doesn’t know anything abut the economy, just politics. He is clearly a progressive. I I prefer not to vote for anybody that cheats on their wife(s), it is an honesty thing. I like Rick based on his conservative record an Mitt based on economic resume. I like them both based on their family values. I could vote for either one. Newt has no economic record (there was no surplus with Bill C they just took the money out of social security), his conservative record is all messed up, and his family values are non existent.

Posted on January 23, 2012 at 12:12pmAnn is right on the money. The GOP just wants someone to yell at Obama…they could care less that he will lose the election in November and the kicker is that Gingrich is a big government Progressive…he is no conservative just google his record, including his voting record in Congress.
Besides the Dems will have fun touting Obama’s family life to values voters, and they will also have fun depicting Gingrich’s treatment of women..that they are disposable and objects to discard if they aren’t pretty enough. The Dems will also strongly remind people how Gingrich was ousted from the 3rd highest office in the land-Speaker of the House,by his own party for ethics charges…………and Gingrich thinks he is qualified to be President……..the GOP is a flippin joke!!!
If the GOP selects NEWT..they deserve to lose.

Everything thing written by SLR4528 is correct Newt is not a conservative he is a big government progressive. For years Newt has been an advocate of government controlled health care. He says FDR was the best president the country has ever had and he supports amnesty for the illegal aliens invading our country.

Posted on January 23, 2012 at 12:55pmAnn is a Conservative, compare her rhetoric with Newt‘s voting record and his years of comments on video and you will see that Ann Coulter and Glenn Beck have Newt pegged correctly as a BIG Government progressive who only knows government and who strongly believes that government can find the solutions to everyone’s problems.
If you know how to use google, you will quickly be able to see that Newt will say anything to get a vote and will evade confrontational questions regarding his record with defensive colorful rhetoric.
Report Post »His tactic is working now because the Dems and the mainstream media want Newt to be the nominee. Once Newt is the nominee, the MSM will paint Newt as the arrogant abusive bully who evades questions.(which is actually true…just look at how he has treated the past women in his life).

Posted on January 23, 2012 at 12:14pmHow can you make the case he’s less conservative than Romney? A good objective measure of this is his ACU rating and, honestly, it’s pretty good. Cherry picking from such an immense voting record is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! Anyone with any sophistication realizes that bills often have side legislation that cause politicians to vote for or against them when their inclination would have been otherwise. And there are numerous more complicated issues beyond that that further muddies the waters. This is why the ACU rating is so important. They take these issues into account and choose a subset of bills that are mostly clearcut without these…. complications… and measure that against the best conservative thought OF THE DAY (yes, conservative opinions have changed over the last 40 years).
So, to summarize, if Ann is going to make this claim she needs to put forth a much better argument IMHO. I love reading her articles (and I’ve read her recent ones that attempt to eviscerate Gingrich) but when I look at the objective facts her arguments against Gingrich seem to be more emotionally than factually based.

Posted on January 23, 2012 at 11:39amI agree with Ann Coulter, I voted in the general election for McCain, but absolutely disliked him. I don’t want a fight with the media, I want a win against Obama.
Report Post »jv
Posted on January 23, 2012 at 12:10pmProblem with McCain was twofold. He was afraid to take his gloves off when debating a black guy and he failed to recognize he was up against two enemies – Obama and the media. Gingrich not only knows who his fight is with, he is fearless in attacking them. This to me makes him more electable than any of them, since neither Romney or Santorum seem to have much of a belly for conflict. And Romney is especially ugly when trying to express anger (much like McCain). So if Gingrich does lose in November at least he will have gone down fighting and we can say we’ve given it our best. (Not so in 2008).
As for Gingrich‘s conservativism he seems to recognize the main problem with our country is that it’s been shanghaied by atheists and atheist based programs. He’s also pro-life. And he has been endorsed by Rick Perry and the Palins while Romney has the endorsement of Huntsman and McCain. What more needs to be said. Gingrich though maybe not the perfect candidate is conservative enough for me and I would sorely like to see Barry finally debate someone who isn’t afraid of him or his false prophet media lackeys.
