Anonymous Hacks Law Firm That Defended Marine in Iraqi Killing Case

Anonymous Claims to Have Private Info From Law Firm Defending Marine Iraqi Killing Case

Screenshot of the defaced law firm's website. The firm has since taken the site down until further notice.

Adding to its most recent stint of revenge on organizations like the FBI and the Boston Police Department, the hacker collective Anonymous has infiltrated the website of a law firm that defended a U.S. Marine who killed 24 Iraqi citizens in 2005.

Gizmodo reports that seven years ago, then Sergeant Frank Wuterich along with other Marines killed two dozen in Haditha, Iraq, in retaliation for an IED strike. Wuterich admitted to the killings and last week was charged with “negligent dereliction of duty” but did not receive any jail time or other punishment.

Now, Anonymous is fighting what it believe is an injustice by attacking Puckett & Faraj, the firm that defended Wuterich. The firm’s website is currently dysfunctional and Anonymous threatens having a host of private information that it will be releasing.

Here’s what Anonymous wrote (via Gizmod0):

We went ahead and fired off some shots of our own — at the servers and personal email accounts of Puckett & Faraj. We defaced their website and dumped nearly 3GB of private email messages belonging to Neal Puckett and Haytham Faraj. The contents of these email messages include detailed records, transcripts, testimony, trial evidence, and legal defense donation records pertaining to not only Frank Wuterich but also many other marines they have represented.

And to add a few layers of icing to this delicious caek, we got the usual boatloads of embarrassing personal information. How do you think the world will react when they find out Neal Puckett and his marine buddies have been making crude jokes about the incident where marines have been caught on video pissing on dead bodies in Afghanistan? Or that he regularly corresponds with and receives funding from former marine Don Greenlaw who runs the racist blog http://snooper.wordpress.com? We believe it is time to release all of their private information and court evidence to the world and conduct a People’s trial of our own.

Gizmodo reports that a source within the hacker collective told them that all the attacks today (Related: Read about how Anonymous hacked into the FBI’s conference call) are coordinated but have their own “particular motivations.” Anonymous has also reportedly attacked the Texas Police Association’s website, Salt Lake City police and Greece’s justice ministry.

Gizmodo also states that when they called Puckett & Faraj, the firm didn’t known it had been hacked yet.

“ Anonymous” is not what people think it is. It isn‘t just some guys in their Mom’s basements who are super smart with computers. They are a well funded criminal enterprise. They get information the same way wikileaks gets it, human turncoats, useful idiots and the like.

Love the quote. I fully agree, though I’d prefer Anonymous keep to the task of attacking government websites, not private ones. It was the judge’s ruling, hence the government, not the lawyers who defended them that enabled the soldiers responsible to walk away free. The defense team was just doing their job. Our out-of-control, Statist government is the root cause of such injustices.

Sad that you would choose the side of injustice over people trying to expose tyranny.

And if you knew anything about us ‘Paul-Bots’ (Which, by the way, negates your Anarchist theory about me. If I were an anarchist, I wouldn’t choose any government official to support, moron) you would also understand the words of Thomas Jefferson.

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it’s natural manure.”

It’s not anarchy I propose, but rather a reclamation of liberty; since there doesn’t seem to be any these days. Now, since we get nothing but lies from the people in Government whom we are supposed to trust, the only way to accomplish that is to break ‘THIER’ laws, which are tailored to suppress us. Then we must break the systems they have put in place to protect themselves from the judgements of ‘WE THE PEOPLE’ whom they duped just to get into office so they could live off the public trough with no accountability.

Could the hack President Bill Clinton’s health records.

Would he have been elected president if it was known that he was treated for sexually transmitted diseases often?

Could they hack President Obama’s college records from Columbia. It is a favorite line of attack by the left that Republican presidential candidates are stupid. It doesn‘t matter that Al Gore’s or Kerry’s records ate comparable to George W.Bush or that he edges them out. They still do it.

Would people elect Obama (historic or not) if he had a lackluster scholastic record or if it appeared that Columbia admitted him in preference to others given a dismal record? Or would they wait for a better black candidate like J.C. Watts, Colin Powell, Hermann Cain or some other black politician with actual accomplishments & is not an affirmative hire as a president?

No leftists/Democrat can defend Obama’s scholastic record because they don;t know what it is.

Where is the information on these politicians? Where are the concerrrrrrrned hackers?

Why were the Iraqi citizens punished by death, but no punishment for the vigilante soldiers who killed them? If that is your form of justice, you are creepier than I, lady.

Civilians in Iraq, who had no guns, fought using light switches.

We flew at night to avoid anti aircraft fire, RPGs, anti aircraft artillery or whatever. They would spot light helos. By lighting up underneath a helo, it provides a bracket, an area, for ‘active’ insurgents to fire at.

You are assuming that all 24 of those people were innocent.

You are also assuming that you could walk a mile in their shoes and remain as pure as the wind driven snow. We all know that is not true.

Good Reasons for you to NOT vote for Ron Paul:
      1) You want your children to be sent to endless, undeclared wars.
      2) You want the Government to tell you what is best for you.
      3) You want the value of your currency to continually decrease while prices continually increase.
      4) You want to sacrifice your freedoms for the illusion of safety.
      5) You want the government to continue spending itself further and further into debt.
      6) You don’t really care about the Bill of Rights or the Constitution.
If this is you, then Ron Paul is not a good choice for you. Just vote for any other candidate. They will be sure to deliver these points for you.

If we had things his way this country would sink into complete disorder. Anarchy is the result of too little government that has no means to enforce the rule of law. Beck is correct in his accessment of how things work in this regard. Unfortunately we have so much law that hardly anyone can function and make a profit doing anything any more. Right now the US governemnt is the largest employer. So before you get up your righteous indignation, get a little perspective. You are insipid, mewling wretch. You want to judge people with 20/20 hindsight from a place of nigh absolute safety. On one hand you condemn Marines who were in physical danger from months on end on the other you condone illegal acts. You are pathetic.

“Son, we live in a world that has walls and those walls need to be guarded by men with guns. Who’s gonna do it? You? You, Lieutenant Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago and curse the Marines; you have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that Santiago’s death, while tragic, probably saved lives and that my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives.
You don‘t want the truth because deep down in places you don’t talk about at parties you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use then as the backbone of a life trying to defend something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said “thank you,” and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest that you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don’t give a damn what you think you are entitled to.”

Even though SOPA did not pass, the future of the internet will be one of strict regulation because of hackers. The impact to hackers will be minimal and only the script-kiddies will go to jail which is what pro hackers want.

    The fictitious scenario:
In order to exploit a site, I do not do it from my IP address. I remotely access the sites through computers that I have compromised. This is termed my bot army: A collection of several thousand compromised machines that I ping and automatically verify my access to through scripts I write. The result of my verified bot-net is that I can sell spam services and extort sites such as on-line casinos to pay me or I destroy their web sites through DDOS attacks resulting in millions of dollars lost. Do they pay? Hells yeah they pay!.What SOPA would have done is blacklist the dumb user of the exploited machine and I get away scott-free!

So, the government claims victory when they arrest a couple of script kiddies. They rarely if ever catch the careful ones that are raping people financially every second of the day.

Anonymous is dangerous because they will destroy conservatives and spare the progressives. I doubt they will ever attack a PETA, DNC, or any other liberal site.

Anon. is a group of self-appointed vigilantes that decide who is worthy of having things like privacy and lawyer-client privilege violated.

No process of prosecution, no trial in a court of law for those judged unworthy. Just a group of people who think they are above the law (different in demeanor from those they expose exactly how?) who decide amongst themselves which of us in the population is deserving of the protections provided by the law and who is not. This is the law of man exercised and this is anarchist.

Is this kind of justice what you would ask for yourselves? A group of self-appointed judges that decide who is to be drug from the safety of their homes in the dark of night, stripped naked for all to see, put on display in the public square and all of their wrong doings declared, waiting for the gathered crowds to tear them to shreds.

This IS legion, this is evil and it is wrong.

AXEL: Agree. Have you notice the arrogance of our Lefty/ anarchist Trolls who write here ? The Anonymous crew is cut from the same cloth. Always the smartest guys in the room. Always so superior . Really just a bunch of sneaky, social misfits filled with anger and hate. Destructive little boogers…

If we didn’t have progressives running this Country this would have ended long ago and these people would be in a US Federal Prison without any Internet connection at all.

Oh boy a website defaced, because that’s hard to do and so mature. They are child like and stupid. Anti-American as well. If they actually accomplished what they wanted they’d end up being hung for treason. Which doesn’t sound like a bad idea anyways, they are annoying.

When will they finally just admit that Annonymous is a band of cyber-terrorists?

Hopefully they never do. “Terrorism” is bandied about so easily and for any situation – always boiling down to “doing something I don’t like” – that the word nearly has no meaning. They’re vandals certainly. Trespassers possibly. I’m sure there are numerous criminal statutes that they could be tried under, but terrorism isn’t it.

      “terrorism it isn’t..”
So, exposing your private information to millions of people for political purposes isn’t terrorism? Peoples lives are put at risk when they do this. How will you feel when you are exposed the same way? every dirty site you have ever visited, all your financial information so people can steal your identity, your passwords, your address so people you have irritated on the net can exact revenge on you for what you have expressed. It definitely falls under the sometimes too large umbrella of terrorism.

This is the stuff that only God knows and it is being revealed to us like crap on a *******…the world is sick and no one can do a damn thing about it…

Anonymous is more dangerous . Anonymous : group of anarchists and social misfits . Filled with a destructive anger . Lashing out at authority , rules, and adults. Filled with an inner core of hatred. Like the Columbine guys in their black trench coats. Angry. Destructive. Needy. Dangerous.
