Anonymous Threatens Mexican Drug Cartel

Anonymous threatens Drug Cartel

The international network of computer hackers, proclaimed by some to be “hacktivists,” have picked a new target. In a new video release, a Spanish-speaker claiming to represent the organization has threatened the Zeta Mexican drug cartel to release one hacker kidnapped from a street protest in the Mexican state of Veracruz, or Anonymous will publish the identities and addresses of the syndicate’s associates and businesses. These associates include everyone corroborating with the cartel from corrupt police to taxi drivers. The Houston Chronicle reports on the video warning:

“‘You made a huge mistake by taking one of us. Release him,’ says a masked man in a video posted online on behalf of the group, Anonymous.

‘We cannot defend ourselves with a weapon … but we can do this with their cars, homes, bars, brothels and everything else in their possession,’ says the man, who is wearing a suit and tie.

‘It won’t be difficult; we all know who they are and where they are located,’ says the man, who underlines the group’s international ties by speaking Spanish with the accent of a Spaniard while using Mexican slang.”

The video closes with “If anything happens to him, you sons of (expletive) will always remember this upcoming November 5:”

The take down of the Mexican cartel known for drug-trafficking and violence would come shortly after the Anonymous breach of the “Freedom Hosting” server. Earlier in the month Anonymous revealed the account details of 1,589 users of the explicit database and disabled over 40 child pornography websites.

Common thugs in Mexico dress up like and claim to be Zetas all the time to intimidate victims.

I have a hunch this so-called “hacker” is doing the same with claiming to be part of Anonymous (which is just a loose association of retarded internet tough guys and script kiddies who hang out on anonymous image boards and chat rooms).

The footage was lifted from another video.
      The voice is Text-to-Speech software.
It’s unlikely this is being taken seriously by any “organization”.

It is just an additional benefit that the Nazi cops can’t see your face to target you personally or scan your face with their stupid all-seeing eye to try to determine your “intent” using behavioral analysis.

Why do the Nazis wear masks when the SWAT kicks in your door at 4AM?

I am surprised that this story is given any credence at all. If the cartel could be taken out by hacking, they would not be a problem now. Our government, the Mexican government and every government has a hacking program in each of it’s serivces. If it could be done the Mexicans would have hired a real tech savy company to do just that. Do you really think some simple minded script kiddies could do this? What is it they are going to hack?

Why would an underground criminal organization have computers to be hacked? They have absolutely no infrastructure for hackers to attack. They deal in cash and hide out from Mexican police.

Hackers can attack things like federal servers or corporate websites because they are very public and easily found. There‘s absolutely no way to track down a Zeta’s computer, let alone compromise it.

I call bull****. This clown is bluffing and doesn’t understand what hacking even is.

MacPappy – I like where you are going with your comment, however, the unfortunate truth is that our government is run by anti-American socialists that would like nothing more than these murderous thugs to succeed even more than they already have (chaos means cries for more government and the POTUS has proven that he exists to grow the government). The US justice department is sending them guns and helping them to kill US agents. Not only that, if they had any clue what so ever about “hacking” they would freeze all assets of these criminal organizations, much like they do with legitimate governments (after UN approval of course).

I admire their stand against the Zetas to be sure, but, like many, I suspect it is a bluff.

You Reddenblack (you are probably neither French military nor clergy, ironically) suck at generalizing, but you show much promise at using tired 2008 phrases such as *********. Your originality matches your clever spelling techniques.

The word you meant was something like “warned”. And this word:

I’m not a Tea Party person.

Members of Anonymous have several times gone after subjects that they determined are morally wrong, which had nothing to do with hacking. They went after that lady in England who threw a cat in a garbage bin, they went after Scientology and the Westboro Baptists, they’re going after child porn sites.

But ultimately, like you say, they don’t really care about whether they hurt people, or being virtuous, they care about power. The people they target they just happen to be pissed off at at the moment. That makes them as bad as any group, and even worse, since they act superior and as if they have God-like judgment over things. It makes them worst than Scientologists and worst than Westboro Baptists.

In this case, if they’re actually being honest about the information that they have (which I doubt) they could save countless lives, and help Mexico build a better government and better society. They probably just want a cut of the profit.

I don’t care if they are legion. They need to get over themselves.
