Another CNN Interview with Ron Paul Cut Short — NYT Reports Paul Campaign Manager Shouted at Reporter

Ron Paul Ends CNN Interview Early...Again

Republican presidential primary candidate Texas Rep. Ron Paul had another unfriendly exchange with CNN Monday, as The New York Times reports that the candidate ended an interview at a campaign stop in Hollis when CNN reporter Dana Bash asked about his ability to connect with voters in New Hampshire. Top campaign aide Jesse Benton stepped in when Paul was asked a question about a chaotic incident earlier in the day, and the Times reports that Benton “could be seen — and heard — shouting at Ms. Bash as Mr. Paul walked away.”

According to The Times, the question that instigated Benton’s intervention was in regards to an incident that had occured a few hours earlier, when a middle-aged woman had become angry with Paul for not spending enough time talking to voters at a crowded diner in Manchester. The woman was reportedly an Obama voter in 2008 and said that she was open to voting for Paul. She became angry, however, after Paul’s S.U.V. allegedly drove off while she shouted for him to return to the diner and meet her mother.

As seen in the video of the stand-off with Bash, Benton ends the interview when the reporter questions the episode, blaming the high volume of news media at the crowded diner for causing the candidate to make an early exit.

“You the media did this to her,” Paul said to Bash in regards to the woman in the diner. “She should have been furious with you.”

Paul’s patience appeared visibly strained following the tense exchange. Slate reports that Benton stormed out of the event with Bash behind him,”announcing how annoyed the campaign was with the network.”

The Hill reports that Benton released a statement Monday afternoon explaining the “mob-like atmosphere” at the diner that morning:

“’This morning, he attempted to hold an event at Moe Joe’s Diner in Manchester, to speak with patrons and supporters in the last push before the New Hampshire primary. Unfortunately, Dr. Paul and his family were forced to leave early after over 120 members of the press created a mob-like atmosphere that was deemed to be unsafe for the candidate, Moe Joe’s customers, and reporters themselves,’ Benton said.

‘The campaign had planned to cover our normal degree of media interest, which is always ample. However, a significant increase in the press corps, largely driven by an influx of foreign journalists, exceeded all expectations.’

He went on to describe an incident in which a reporter shoved aside Paul’s wife, allegedly telling her to ‘get out of the way.’

‘While we are very welcoming of media coverage and grateful for the interest in Dr. Paul and his campaign, basic safety simply must come first. On behalf of Dr. Paul and his campaign team, I would like to apologize to customers at Moe Joe’s who may have been distressed by this incident, and extend our gratitude and apologies to the owners, who were kind enough to have us,’ Benton said.”

The Times reports that Bash apologized to Paul’s wife for bringing up the incident from earlier in the day, following the exchange with Benton.

Paul was accused of abruptly ending an interview with CNN reporter Gloria Borger in December, appearing to have angrily cut the conversation short when pressed about his involvement with controversial newsletters published under his name.

“It‘s been going on 20 years that I’ve been pestered about this and CNN does it every time,” Paul said at the time. “When are you going to wear yourself out?”

After an uncut version of the interview was posted online, many criticized CNN’s editing, claiming that Rep. Paul did not walk out of the interview in the manner originally suggested.

While I think it is ridiculous that a woman says she needed to shake his hand to vote for him, Paul could have handled it differently. I feel if he cannot take a small question like this one, how in the world is he going to debate Obama? For his handler to get that upset over something like this doesn’t show much class or confidence. I am not for Romney at all, but I do have to say the way he handles the attacks against him is remarkable. He is very patient, doesn’t show emotion and moves on. For Paul to let his handler lose composure like this is not going to help him win in the long run. The only other person who would be able to handle an attack like this one is Newt. He wouldn’t walk away, he would turn it on them and make them look like the loser.

@faith1020 I was a bit shocked to in how the interview ended. So I searched for some context in helping me understand the situation better. I found this: http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/gop-presidential-primary/203039-media-mob-forces-paul-to-leave-nh-campaign-event-early

“A campaign stop at a New Hampshire eatery mutated into a circus on Monday when the media scrum chasing Ron Paul apparently became too much for the 76-year-old Texas congressman to handle.

Paul had been planning to make the rounds through Moe Joe’s restaurant before settling down to eat breakfast with his wife, Carol — who said he enjoys apple pancakes — at a table in the corner.

But the plans quickly changed. Barely able to move through the restaurant as hundreds of journalists and videographers surrounded him on all sides, Paul ignored the questions being lobbed at him and slowly inched through the restaurant, offering a few autographs to supporters along the way.

‘Guys, you’ve got to take it easy,’ shouted one Paul staffer, imploring the media to give the congressman some space.”

Paul was their with his wife, trying to enjoy a breakfast meal. Later on in the day, they recounted the event and how unfortunate it was that the media acted in such a disorderly manner. His wife was present and they had no respect for the couple. And then the CNN lady tries to blame him “running off” on him?

@Patrick I’m registered Republican, and haven’t been anything else. In 2010, I voted for the TEA party candidates running in my State primaries. As a GOP member I voted for the nominee in the general elections. Since a young age, I’ve gone to church, studied my bible, and followed Christ’s precepts. I’m American and have always been taught to work hard, and that I’m responsible for my actions. I say this to anyone reading, please don’t lump all Paul supporters in the same category. The reason Paul gathers voters from all backgrounds is because truth has no agenda and liberty resonates with everyone. The Constitution was created as the great balance in America by our founding fathers. Freedom of Religion invites various forms of worship, faith and doctrines. Our freedom of speech invites open discussion, debate and dissent. Our founders wanted Americans to decide for themselves how to govern their own lives, without Big Government forcing individuals to do what Politicians think is right. This year Progressives achieved their desire to force us to buy a certain type of light bulb. That’s abuse of Governmental power. I believe in free markets, and not communistic decisions made by the Government to regulate private businesses. My family, friends, and relatives will vote for Paul. It’s about message of Liberty and limited Government. Some are Democrats, but they will not vote for Obama, ever. They’ll vote Republican. They are legitimate voters. God bless.

      @nippohips

Nice smear job. I got one better for you.

In 1988 a Libertarian supporter of Ron Pauls named Jim Peron, who owned the bookstore Laissez Faire Books in San Francisco setup a 3 day campaign swing for Ron Paul. Jim was very openly gay, but Ron thought the world of him. They spent three days together and used Jim Peron’s home/office as a base.

Okay this is from Eric Dondero a former senior aide to Paul. This was from the article that was written trying to prove Ron Paul wasn’t a homophope. Whats interesting about this article is Jim Peron. Now who is this Jim Peron?

Jim Peron has strong ties to the North American Man Boy Love Association (NAMBLA)

Jim Peron Published a pedophile journal called Unbound out of his San Francisco bookstore (called free forum books) which is a pedophile journal.

His bookstore in San Francisco was raided twice by police because of at least one employee’s child molesting habits and the pedophile literature was confiscated.

Jim Peron hosted NAMBLA meetings at his bookstore and the 1st journal was written in 1987 before Paul went and hung out with him for three days.

Jim Peron also believes that child porn is legitimate free speech.

I’m sure if Ron does too well this will all come out.

Everyone needs to hear this before its too late! Don’t listen to the media…Ron Paul is the ONLY chance America has from becoming a future extra terrestrial type, cyborg ruling, communist dictatorship!
      * If you vote for anyone other than Paul the government will show up to your house demand your first, third, and sixth child, turn them into zombies and then have them take over the world.
      * Vote for Ron Paul because he is the only one on the trail that speaks the truth!!! Ancient aliens that once inhabited South America once prophesied about the “Truth Prophet” who would come, he would be an old man spewing out truths no one in their right mind believed. He would save us from the inevitable inhabitation of the Zoldiphiotes from the far planet Zoltron who planned an attack on the country’s Constitution….Ron Paul is that MAN!!!
*If you value your children from being eaten by government bureaucrats, if you want to save this country from being overtaken by aliens from a far away planet, if you believe the prophecies from ancient South American aliens you have better vote Ron Paul 2012 or Die!!!!

I have noticed that in many RP supporters, like me, posts, they tend to use many facts and numbers, so I’d better do the same. Did you know in our savior Dr. Ron Paul’s last speech there were 2,634 words in the speech. Of those 2, 634 words the Left wing conservative media machine used all but 46 of them! And of those 46, the most common word they took from his holines

Wiki definition of Tea Party (I agree)

The Tea Party movement (TPM) is an American populist political movement that is generally recognized as conservative and libertarian, and has sponsored protests and supported political candidates since 2009. It endorses reduced government spending, opposition to taxation in varying degrees, reduction of the national debt and federal budget deficit, and adherence to an originalist interpretation of the United States Constitution.

(adherence to the Constitution is the part I like best)

First off, Dana Bash is a disgrace of a journalist. The question was a joke. Paul stood there and shook hands with many, many people. And this journalist has the gall to bring up a petty complaint from an Obama supporter who is crying to CNN because she didn’t get to shake hands with Dr. Paul? If that’s seriously the kind of question that they insist on asking, then the there is absolutely no point to conducting an interview in the first place.

Us Ron Paul supporters have realized the truth that there are STATISTS and STATESMEN…Statists just want to run your life how they see fit (Santorum, Romney, Newt, Perry…I.E. progressives) Statesmen preserve your right to live ur own life…STATISTS grow the government power through war and debt and taxes. STATESMEN slash the power of the central state and return it to the people. Liberty unites ALL humans. Ron Paul has awoken the masses and stoked the fire of liberty. We will not fall for any more REPUBLICRATS or DEMOBLICANS. Mr. Paul’s top aide was very quick to be defensive of the question. He could have easily said to Benton to stop and let him answer the question. Whether it is silly or not, he still could of answered it. He was given the oppurtunity to simply appologize about the incident, instead he chose to lose a vote. And if he is that arrogant and thinks so highly of himself that he does not need to worry about one vote, then he will not win.

Wrong. He had “lost the vote” before the interview ever took place. He “lost the vote” because he didn‘t shake the hand of some woman who wasn’t even at the interview shown above. Can Ron Paul seriously take the time to shake every single hand of every single person who shows up to one of his events? Of course not. It’s silly to even suggest. And couple that with the security situation at the diner….120 journalists + Ron Paul + staff + patrons crammed into a diner with journalists tossing elbows at his 75 year old wife? I’d have gotten out of there as well.

      And Romney will win. Easily.

And then we will have another 4 years that are no different than the years under Bush and Obama. i.e. Wars. Rapidly-growing debt. Increasing Homeland crotch grabbing & Patriot Act spying. Plus censorship of the net.

Have you ever wondered about, Gee, what if most of the world’s problems have been planned or manufactured to become real problems, just so they can advance their agenda? Think about it. Or think outside the box, but for a moment. After every world problem in this past century, there has always been an attempt to unite all Nations or to create some form of Global Government, or internationalist institution. The communists have only one agenda, Marxism. The elites have only one agenda, Globalism. They both create the world’s problems, and they both give the world their solutions. Ordo ab Chao.

Santorum is way behind in NH. And is within top three in SC. I think it’s the MSM who is spreading these lies about Paul being non-electable, or having no chance. Let’s face it. Any candidate up there has a legitimate shot at beating Obama. And We the People decide our officials, not the MSM or Establishment.

I’ll do my best to nominate the most Constitutional and small Government candidate I believe is up there. The one other thing to consider is that Paul, along with Romney, are the only ones who’s support havw not spiked up or down. Paul has a steady support, and is slowly but surely rising. IMO, it might come down to Paul and Romney.

Mr. Paul remained respectful and answered all questions until the media…well, became the typical media. Although Mr. Paul would not be my choice for two reasons – his age and his International policies, I find no fault with him walking away from a reporter asking, yet another, really stupid question.
IF CNN reporters had vetted Mr. Obama at all, he never would have been elected – albeit by dead people and illegal aliens. If CNN reporters were honest and unbiased, they would have revealed the Communists and Marxists that now hold positions in the White House. I hold these ‘media’ illiterates completely responsible for the illegal and unconstitutional acts of this administration, and can’t afford to take any of them at their word. It’s a sad commentary for what happens when the very individuals who are expected to keep Americans informed and abreast of the bad guys, decide to sell their souls. The good news is, Americans are fully aware that these ‘media’ people have the Constitutional knowledge of a gnat and the common sense of a gerbil.
I suggest that CNN go out and cover their new best friends in the ‘occupy’ people. They will always look smarter next to the unbathed drug addicts they are so enamored with.

His age is an issue? Please learn a thing or two before commenting:
      Too Old?
Nelson Mandela was 76 when he took over as president of South Africa. Ben Franklin was in his 70s and 80s during the formation of the US and did his best work then. Charles de Gaulle was president of France at the age of 79. Some say he was the greatest modern leader in French history. Michelangelo began his monumental work as architect of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome at age 71. By age 89, the year of his death, he was still at it.
Konrad Adenauer, declared by many to be the greatest chancellor of the German Republic in its modern history. Adenauer served Germany with wisdom and class until the age of 87.
Oh and Reagan was in his 70′s when he took office…

@QP..You are right..no one man can save our nation..but our Constitution was founded under God the Father and His Son Jesus..It is also true that Paul would be up against the Congress and Senate..but if God blesses us to get our Constitution back..we should be able to fire or impeach all the representatives who do not uphold our Constitution..and we will.. God willing.. That is what we want QP..We want our Constitution back and we are willing to fight for it..Please read this letter from Israel.

      it’s like this.
You are either for Liberty or you are for slavery.
You are either for a Constitutional Republic or you are for tyranny.

There is no middle ground and there are no comprimises. As soon as you give up liberty, you become a slave, no matter how “irrelevant” YOU think that liberty is. As soon as you ignore the constitution and the republic for which it stands, you become a tyrannt.

    Unacceptable.

Mr. Paul would be happy to meet with that woman, but not when there are reporters attacking his wife. “You the media did this to her,” Paul said to Bash in regards to the woman in the diner. “She should have been furious with you.”

And I agree. It is not acceptable to drop U.S. bombs and slaughter a hundred thousand non-combatants. We should not have done it in Iraq, or Libya, and we should not do it against Iran (as Obama, Santorum, and Romney want to do).

Ron Paul is NOT anti-Semitic because he doesn’t want to bomb Iran. He is a Non-Interventionist who would not be pandering or meddling in other countries including Iran and Israel. Some people just don’t seem to get it that the problems in the Middle East right now have been caused by a lot of meddling. We put the Shah of Iran in place and he was removed by the Mullahs when Carter was president. We created Al Queda from the Mujahedeen when we paid them and gave them weapons to fight the Soviets. How is the USA bombing or meddling in Iran going to help out Israel? It is up to Israel as a soveriegn nation to protect herself. And she has done so in the past. Israel has enough weapons to handle the situation.

“The Paul rhetoric when it came to Jews . The newsletters display an obsession with Israel; no other country is mentioned. A 1987 issue of Paul’s Investment Letter called Israel “an aggressive, national socialist state,“ and a 1990 newsletter discussed the ”tens of thousands of well-placed friends of Israel in all countries who are willing to wok [sic] for the Mossad in their area of expertise.” Of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, a newsletter said, “Whether it was a setup by the Israeli Mossad, as a Jewish friend of mine suspects, or was truly a retaliation by the Islamic fundamentalists, matters little.”
For 1992, the newsletter earned **$940,000** and employed Paul’s family as well as Lew Rockwell (its vice-president] and occasional editor) and seven other workers. Murray Rothbard and other libertarians believed Rockwell ghostwrote some of the newsletters for Paul; Rockwell later acknowledged involvement in writing subscription letters.

@Loj In this interview Paul denies blaming America for 9/11: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXvHPkRHBvk Many say that we should listen to Amadenijack and take his warnings serious, that he is out to destroy us. Yet, when Paul says the same about the warnings and statements given by the CIA, other investigative agencies, and even Bin Laden’s own words, he is called an appeaser and traitor. That is unfair, if we are to take Amadenijack’s words serious also. I do believe that the MSM has taken Paul’s position out of context. We give financial aid to Pakistan, though they have a Nuke. That is appeasement. We just sold a bunch of F-15′s to the Saudi Arabians, though Bin Laden and 15 of the 19 hijackers of 9/11 were Saudi Arabians. That’s appeasement. We leave our borders unprotected, unmanned (with an inadequate number of troops), and unsecured, allowing countless of foreign nationals to illegally cross into our country. That’s appeasement. We should not use our troops as a global police force or world peace corp. We are spreading our military too thin around the world, especially with our troops. They should be protecting our borders. Neither should we engage in Nation building. We have enough satellites, carriers, submarines, stationed missiles and other high tech weaponry to protect our homeland and our interests here at home and abroad. We can’t be defeated.

      - Interviewer: But you made money off of them?
      - Paul: I was still practicing medicine. That‘s probably why I wasn’t a very good publisher because I had to make a living.
      - Interviewer: But there are reports that you made a million dollars off of them in 1993.
      - Paul: I’d like to see that money.
      - Interviewer: But would you give it back?
      - Paul: To whom?
      - Interviewer: But if you made money off of them and you disavowed them.
      - Paul: Really?
      - Interview: Well, to charity.
      - Paul: That’s nonsense.
      - Interviewer: If you made money off of them and you disavowed it.
      - Paul: You know, I didn’t write them. I don’t endorse those views. And I’ve explained it many times.
      - Interviewer: So you read them but never did anything about them?
      - Paul: I never read that stuff. I probably became aware of it ten years after it was written. And it’s been going on twenty years that people have pestered me about this. And CNN does every single time… I didn’t write them. I didn’t read them at the time. And I disavow them.
      - Interviewer: But you made money off of them.
      - Paul: If you know I made money off of them then you know more about my finances than I do… It was published for ten years. So if that was one percent of all the newsletters, I made money talking about gold stocks. I think you’re really confused on that.

Paul was a handful that supported Israel‘s decision to bomb Iraq’s nuclear facilities in 1981. When asked what he thinks about Israel attacking Iran or Iran’s nuclear facilities, he responded that if Israel felt threaten, she has every right to defend herself and protect her interests. I support Israel, and as a Christian understand that God alone will in the end defend Israel against all Nations gathered against her, that the world may know that God alone is King over all the Earth. I’m a patriot, and will stand against the Marxist agenda so prevalent in the US. This notion that we will abandon Israel in our attempt to restore our own Nation is unfounded. Paul said that Israel should be our trading partner, and best friend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YH-fv15oAhQ Paul in the NH debate said he does not want Iran to have a nuke. Senator Rand Paul said of his dad, “[he] doesn’t want (Iran) to have nuclear weapons, he thinks it would be destabilizing for them to have them, but he thinks there needs to be a healthy debate in Congress about what our response should be.” Paul has repeatedly said that if we want war, we should declare it, fight it, win it, and come back home. No nation building. Shall we be another ten years in a foreign land, after we crush our enemies, to change their regime or set up another Government? In our pursuit to defeat our enemies, is electing Big Government politicians helping us domestically? These are legitimate concerns.

Why DR. Ron Paul is our best bet to beat Obama (more so than Romney)

We are ALWAYS told that elections are determined by the “independents and moderate”.. Well guess who wins those voters?

CNN did exit polling in Iowa and found the following (google cnn exit polls Iowa for more info)

      • Ron Paul won the Independent vote by more than 2:1 (43% to 19%) over Romney
      • Ron Paul won the Moderate vote by (40% to 35%) over Romney
      • Ron Paul won the first time voters by (33% to 17%) over Romney
      • For voters who want a “True Conservative” (37% to 1%) over Romney
      • Paul and Romney tied (26% each) for the urban vote – typically strong democratic vote.

Dont let the Media fool you that Romney is the only one who can beat Obama by “winning the Middle”

Glenns Support of Santorum is based on a fundamentalist Religious view on the requirement to protect the modern State of Israel… Rather than who will protect our Freedoms, provide sound monetary policy and actually CUT OUR SPENDING..

For 1700+ years the Christians churches (including protestants) were almost in unanimous in agreement with Replacement Theology (Christian Church as replaced Israel as a means of salvation). Glenn rejects this.. Read the Parable of the Tenants (Mat 21:33-45)

    Here is the most telling

42Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?

43Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

Replacement theology is as Biblical as Black liberation theology.
      It’s a dreamed up fantasy

      Romans
All Israel will be saved; as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away the ungodliness from Jacob. For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away all of their sins.

      And then there’s Hosea;
God told Hosea to marry a harlot (symbolizing Israel)
The first born son was named Jez’re-el, (God will scatter) because God was about to destroy Israel, and scatter them throughout the ancient world.
The first born daughter was named Lo-ru-ha’mah, (no mercy) because God said he would have no mercy on the house of Israel, and would take them away.

      BUT

The very next verses make it clear, that Israel was still the chosen people, and that in the same place where he told them “Ye are not my people”, he will tell them “Ye are the sons of the living God”

@Mr_Meaner The Jews are still God’s people. The only real solution to these Islamist extremists would be to exterminate and obliterate them in their own lands. This we cannot do, economically, constitutionally, military, or globally. God has said that he will gather all these nations against Jerusalem, and that he will stand on his Mount to defeat these enemies, by his might alone, that the whole world may know that he alone is King over all the Earth. God alone has always defended Israel, and will never betray her. We the US should not think that we are God, or that we can defeat all these Nations with our sole might. The battle is the Lord’s, and the Glory is to him alone. Read Ezekiel 38-39, Psalms 83, and Zechariah 14. Read the Israelite’s fight to conquer the land of Caanan wherein God proclaims his hand alone will defeat their enemies. Read wherein David defeated Goliath through his faith in the might of the Lord.

Have we forgotten in whom our trust is in? Do we not have faith in him who has made us prosper beyond our wildest expectations? Do we not recognize anymore him who has blessed us exceedingly well? Do we not remember anymore in whom our firm reliance lies? Do we seek our own might and reject the strength of him who fought our battles for us?

Israel will be protected by the saving grace of Jesus. We, in all our well intended actions and all our military might, will never be able to do that which God has planned for Israel’s destiny.

And of those 46, the most common word they took from his holiness’s speech was the word “the” they chose the word “The” to clearly demonize him and an out of touch racist who used the “the” word several times in his speeches!! And you thought us Ron Paulites were just conspiracy nut jobs!! I think not. The proof is right there. You can even find it on YouTube (we like to post a ton of YouTube video’s too).

      LOL Clara

So you think we should go back into Iraq? You must not have family that has been there. What do we have to show for out time there. DEATH AND DEBT. No amount of time is going to fix that craphole. Same goes for the rest of the muslim countries. We cannot fix their stupidity.

Sadly though we are in a nation that has a population that doesnt understand history.

Romney – pro Iran war, progressive, pro gun laws, pro abortion rights, willing to say anything to get elected (flip flop). Got his ass handed to him by that toad Mcain.

Santorum – pro Iran war, wants to be in control of your bedroom, big spender, no one knew who the guy was till like 3 weeks ago. Couldnt win his own state if the election was today. He lost by 20+ points.

Gingrich – pro Iran war, globalist, whinning is getting unbarrable, said he already won the nomination two months ago. Cheated on his wife dickbag.

Perry – pro Iran war, pro troops going back to Iraq, has taken alot of his economic ideas from the Ron Paul ideas just not the cuts. He does have the most cuts out of the others though. He wants to cut 100 billion. Not bad but does nothing to get us out of debt.

“Paul was accused of abruptly ending an interview with CNN reporter Gloria Borger in December, appearing to have angrily cut the conversation short when pressed about his involvement with controversial newsletters published under his name.”

Where is the word “falsely” in this sentence? As in “falsely accused”. Blaze already knows the score, why repeat known lies??????

I don’t even support Paul and I see can the bias slant in this article. I don’t care who the person is. This is the type of crap people are trying to get away from. Christopher Santarelli is purposely misleading in in reference of the past allegation.

I’m not familiar with Christopher Santarelli work/article but Beck needs to cut his ties with this editor and fire him. This is not cool no matter the candidate, person or story.

Even the headline is misleading. He even acknowledge the the story that had it on video. This is not the type of reporting that can be respected or tolerated.

You Paul people should write a complaint calling out this Christopher Cantrell guy this article specifically. And so should any one else who care for truthful journalism.

      This is a shame.

When it comes to Ron Paul, The Blaze is a cheerleader for the MSM. Sure, they bash the MSM in every other case, but when it comes to Dr. Paul, they can do no wrong.
Never mind that reporters shoved Dr. Paul’s wife earlier that day, telling her to “get out of the way” when she was standing by her husband.
Never mind that they ruined his event at a diner that morning by cramming 120 reporters into a small area, creating an unsafe condition.
Nope, in this case, Glenn is standing with CNN … because we all know how honorable and fair they are.

Sumner learned that in 2003 the New Hampshire State Senate sneaked an extraneous amendment into an unrelated bill, HB 627, pertaining to defining domicile to comply with a Help America Vote requirement.

In other words, in a bill about residency requirements for voter registration, suddenly, magically, and out of thin air, an amendment appeared to exclude ballots from New Hampshire right to know law.

“No evidence the amendment had a public hearing,” Sumner writes. “Original bill did in the House.”

TO PASS A LAW IN NEW HAMPSHIRE:

Both the New Hampshire House and Senate must pass the bill, and it must be identical in form.

In the case of 2003 House Bill 627, the house passed a bill which had nothing to do with excluding ballots from public right to know.
