Another One: Climate Change Ad Features Young Girl in a Noose

It seems gruesome images of children in trouble are popular marketing tools in the environmental movement. Last week the climate change group 10:10 released a propaganda video featuring exploding children. But before that, the group ACT-Responsible featured an equally disturbing photo of a young girl in a noose:

Another One: Climate Change Ad Features Young Girl in a Noose(via: Hot Air)

The picture is apparently an advertisement for the groups 2009 ad exhibit in Cannes, France (where it was appears to have been featured as a large banner).

According to its website, ACT’s goal “is to federate, promote and inspire responsible communication on sustainability, equitable development and social responsibility. ACT shows how advertising professionals from all continents can use their core talent — creativity — to play a significant role in addressing today’s crucial world issues.” It appears to be French-based, although it has offices in both Switzerland and the United States.

To fulfill its stated goal, ACT promotes, publishes, and displays provocative art by individuals and companies looking to promote social issues. There’s no evidence that it creates the ads itself, but rather promotes the ones it considers the best.

The image above was included in the archives section of the group’s website and on the cover of the “Act 2009: Climate Change, human impact, creative challenge,“ and includes the heading ”Exhibition of the Best Social and Environmental Ads.” And while it seems the company usually doesn’t create its own pictures, there are some hints that this one might have been commissioned by ACT.

The picture does not include any immediate, decipherable clues as to who is responsible for the picture. The only reference to its origin is an illegible “concept by” line near the side (and at the bottom of some versions):

Another One: Climate Change Ad Features Young Girl in a Noose

Further digging on ACT’s website shows that the letters following the “concept by” section may belong to a company called Ayrine. A quick Google search and a few minutes on that company’s website reveals a section called “solutions” that features A.C.T and the same picture featured above:

Another One: Climate Change Ad Features Young Girl in a Noose

The only differences between the pictures featured on ACT‘s website and Ayrine’s is that the former‘s language is done in French while the latter’s is in English and contains sponsor organizations.

Even more digging on Ayrine’s website reveals a larger ACT portfolio, including apparent banners and other graphics:

Another One: Climate Change Ad Features Young Girl in a Noose

Taken together, both websites seem to suggest that either ACT commissioned the piece, or else accepted the submission from a company with which it is closely associated. If there are other explanations, neither Ayrine nor ACT immediately responded to requests to offer them.

In the end, Hot Air‘s Ed Morrissey can’t help but dream about the old days:

Kind of makes one long for the days of polar-bear hugs, huh?

Environmentalism and conservatism are similar in nature. The restoration of our Constitutional Republic is required to preserve our God given inalienable rights. Similarly, it is essential to preserve the life sustaining balance of Earth’s fragile ecosystem if life as we know it, is to continue at all.

These goals far in a way exceed being clearly complementary, truly they are indeed interdependent absolutes and must not be mistaken as mutually exclusive. Responsibly rid both your politics and your environment of deleterious influences and you shall enjoy both life and freedom in abundance, fail and you shall have neither long.

Despite the rare irrefutable truth I occasionally surprise even myself with, perhaps you suspect me and my progressive socialist democrat liberals of perverting environmental science and common sense to advance our singular goal of global governance?

Make no mistake, since you tolerate me as your King and Kenyan in Chief, as America’s second usurper with deference to Chester Arthur, who also wasn’t born in the U.S. of two U.S. citizen parents precluding eligibility as a natural born citizen but deftly hid that his emigrated Irish father wasn’t naturalized as a U.S. citizen until August 1843, fourteen years after Chester’s birth; I can only assume you also wouldn’t mind being conquered from within by communist environmental posers, being robbed by carbon credit scams or bowing to a global ruler, which coincidentally much like Islam, shall offer no alternative but to obey.

I think there is a reason why progressives are the party of death. They believe that the end of the power of the ruling class comes when the merchant class and the peasant class move up in society. When more people are educated, when more people are politically involved, they (the elitists and progressives) will eventually be outnumbered and lose power. They must do everything they can to further population control, to make education more expensive, to use “useful idiots” for as long as they can until power is locked up and then they will come for the useful idiots and the dependent class that they themselves enslaved.

Just what… exactly… is ‘responsible’ about this ad??? It is pure threat. As a graphic designer (with over 30 years in design) I find this not only in extremely bad taste… but poorly designed. Too many elements, really bad photoshop work and totally lacking in composition.

The only message I get from this first year art student‘s ’ad’ is a threatening message. “Do what I say or I’ll resort to violence” Basically extortion.

When people had such problems as the european “Little Ice Age” of roughly 400 years in length (they dont say much of that do they?) and such small events of the “Black Death – bubonic and pneumonic plagues” that would kill nearly 1/3 of european population (my number is probably on the conservative side.)

And they (the enviormentalists, Obama and Al Gore) wonder why we would possibly be afraid of what they would do to us?

Lets use the Cheney Doctrine on Terrorism in addressing Climate Change:
“Even if there’s just a 1 percent chance of the unimaginable coming due, act as if it is a certainty. It‘s not about ’our analysis,’ Cheney said. It‘s about ’our response.’

Climate change, regardless of cause OR your personal belief, WOULD BE the single most destructive event in Human history.
Why would you NOT prepare for an event that catastrophic?

Producing an ad to shock people into living more sustainably only helps the US and the World.

I remember it!! Does anyone remember the “hole in the ozone” that was going to cook us? Does anyone know where the hole in the ozone is????????? It is over the Antarctic, and has been there and fluxuated for thousands of years!! You remember……all the world’s flurocarbons went up into the atmosphere, took a sharp right turn and went to the antarctic. These hoaxs aren’t anything new, or even original.

Quoting Flamingliberal: “Is it more reprehensible than portraying the POTUS as Hitler? More reprehensible than Palidino sending out a e-mail of the POTUS Obama as a Pimp?”

No, but it IS reprehensible. So is the President’s association with Bill Ayers and Reverend Wright.

Flamingiberal quoted:”Lets use the Cheney Doctrine on Terrorism in addressing Climate Change:
“Even if there’s just a 1 percent chance of the unimaginable coming due, act as if it is a certainty. It‘s not about ’our analysis,’ Cheney said. It‘s about ’our response.’”

Climate change, regardless of cause OR your personal belief, WOULD BE the single most destructive event in Human history.”

Because it has not happened yet, and there is too little evidence to say that it will of a certainty, occur. You arrogantly assume that we are all lovers of Dick Cheyney. We are NOT. I wanted nothing to with that evil man’s policies.

“Why would you NOT prepare for an event that catastrophic?”

Because it is expensive and unnecessary as far as I can tell. Politicians are a bit too quick to use scare tactics to stir up support for their favourite causes–which is giving them more power and more money. I am always suspicious whenever politicians, Republican or Democrat, get in behind something like this. I notice that John McCain was a believer back during his bid for the Presidency. it was one of the things that made me come out in favour of Barak Obama.

“Producing an ad to shock people into living more sustainably only helps the US and the World.
I’m not talking about Cap & Trade, or anything more than personal responsibility. IF America lives more sustainably everyone wins. IS THAT RIGHT & GOOD?”

It depends on what you deem as being “sustainable”. Are genetically manipulated plants a good thing? How about animals? What about plastic containers? Would you have us stop using them? If so, what would you suggest as a substitute for them? I could make a very long list of things i have heard advocated in the name of “being green,“ or ”sustainability”. Very few of them make any real sense.

Sustainability,… The biggest threat to freedom in America

There is a word and a concept that should strike fear in the heart of every American. That word is SUSTAINABILITY. Ask somebody what it means and they will tell you that it means different things to different people. The definition may be ambiguous, but the effects sure aren’t. Under the disguise of environmental responsibility, the real purpose of sustainability is to create a global government controlled society, replacing individualism with collectivism. Equal justice is being replaced by social justice. Their goals are no more unalienable rights, no more 2nd ammendment rights, the end of personal property rights, the end of constitutional soverignty for The United States of America

How are they going to pull it off?….. Through our children.
Education is shifting focus from analytical thinking to contextual thinking. It’s called SYSTEM THINKING. It means that in the classroom children are being taught that how you solve a problem is more important than getting the right answer. Right thinking means how children learn to make decisions is more important than if they make the correct decision. Communist style indoctrination with New World Order, Neo Colonialist global Eco-Communist ideals and themes, drilled into our children from kindergarden to adulthood. And it’s happening NOW!

Don’t believe it?… do your own research on groups like The Earth Charter, The American Wildlands Project ,The Nature Conservancy and The United Nations Earth Summit, and especially The United Nations Sustainability Development Agenda 21 policies. It all sounds crazy,…but it is what’s happening! CHECK WITH YOUR SCHOOL DISTRICT for how sustainability has infiltrated your childs education !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had better pay attention and fight back right now while we still have the opportunity to save our children from a life of eco-slavery.
