Another Reference to the Mayan Prediction of the 2012 Apocalypse Found?

Mexico Admits Second Reference to Ancient Mayan Prediction of the 2012 Apocalypse

Mexico acknowledged Thursday that a second reference to the ancient Mayan prediction of a 2012 apocalypse has been found at the Mayan ruins at Comalcalco. (Image source: History Channel)

MEXICO CITY (The Blaze/AP) — A second reference to the ancient Mayan prediction of the apocalypse has been found, Mexico’s archaeology institute acknowledged Thursday, a break from downplaying theories that any such prediction of a 2012 apocalypse exists.

Most experts have long cited only one surviving reference to the 2012 date in Mayan glyphs, a stone tablet from the Tortuguero site in the Gulf coast state of Tabasco.

But the National Institute of Anthropology and History said in a statement that there is in fact another apparent reference to the date at the nearby Comalcalco ruin. The inscription is on the carved or molded face of a brick. Comalcalco is unusual among Mayan temples in that it was constructed of bricks.

Arturo Mendez, a spokesman for the institute, said the fragment of inscription had been discovered years ago and has been subject to thorough study. It is not on display and is being kept in storage at the institute.

The “Comalcalco Brick,” as the second fragment is known, has been discussed by experts in some online forums. Many still doubt that it is a definite reference to Dec. 21, 2012 or Dec. 23, 2012, the dates cited by proponents of the theory as the possible end of the world.

“Some have proposed it as another reference to 2012, but I remain rather unconvinced,” David Stuart, a specialist in Mayan epigraphy at the University of Texas at Austin, said in a message to The Associated Press.

Stuart said the date inscribed on the brick “is a ‘Calendar Round,’ a combination of a day and month position that will repeat every 52 years.”

The brick date does coincide with the end of the 13th Baktun; Baktuns were roughly 394-year periods and 13 was a significant, sacred number for the Mayas. The Mayan Long Count calendar begins in 3114 B.C., and the 13th Baktun ends around Dec. 21, 2012.

But the date on the brick could also correspond to similar dates in the past, Stuart said.

“There‘s no reason it couldn’t be also a date in ancient times, describing some important historical event in the Classic period. In fact, the third glyph on the brick seems to read as the verb huli, “he/she/it arrives.”

“There’s no future tense marking [unlike the Tortuguero phrase], which in my mind points more to the Comalcalco date being more historical that prophetic,” Stuart wrote.

Both inscriptions – the Tortuguero tablet and the Comalcalco brick – were probably carved about 1,300 years ago and both are cryptic in some ways.

The Tortuguero inscription describes something that is supposed to occur in 2012 involving Bolon Yokte, a mysterious Mayan god associated with both war and creation.

However, erosion and a crack in the stone make the end of the passage almost illegible, though some read the last eroded glyphs as perhaps saying, “He will descend from the sky.”

The Comalcalco brick is also odd in that the molded or inscribed faces of the bricks were probably laid facing inward or covered with stucco, suggesting they were not meant to be seen.

The Institute of Anthropology and History has long said rumors of a world-ending or world-changing event in late December 2012 are a Westernized misinterpretation of Mayan calendars.

The institute repeated Thursday that “western messianic thought has twisted the cosmovision of ancient civilizations like the Maya.”

The institute’s experts say the Mayas saw time as a series of cycles that began and ended with regularity, but with nothing apocalyptic at the end of a given cycle.

Given the strength of Internet rumors about impending disaster in 2012, the institute is organizing a special round table of 60 Mayan experts next week at the archaeological site of Palenque, in southern Mexico, to “dispel some of the doubts about the end of one era and the beginning of another, in the Mayan Long Count calendar.”

He who has a firm belief in Jesus Christ, and abides by his words and deeds, is saved and repents, really has nothing to worry about.

Men of science and reason, are wrong all the time. Humans are imperfect, always will be.

Jesus said not to love worldly things, as our time is short in this realm. Who would not want to believe in him and his words? Who would not want to spend eternity in Heaven, doing their favorite things, walking with God, gaining his eternal knowledge? Walk the heavens, watch worlds form, stars burn out, a fireworks show like you’ve never seen before – the possibilities are endless.

I will take that over burning in hell any day of the week. God is good, is loving, but vengence is His for the disobedient. Everyone gets their sense of right vs wrong from the Bible, whether one realizes it our not.
I know I am ascerbic, and can spew my anger at liberal and conservative, independent, and I will be judged for my harshness and sometime intollerance, so be it, I am only human after all.

      God Bless you all.

      What next Blaze, Batboy stories?

There is no “prediction of apocalypse” from the Mayans in 2012. The year 2012 is when their calendar cycles from one period to another. Kind of like how our calendars cycle *monthly*. The world goes on for thousands more years after 2012 according to their calendar.

      Geesh.

I went to the web site and read quite a bit. There is some i agree with but i would say 99% I disagree with. Sounds like the orgin is Catholic based with a cult thrown in there. I totally disagree with what is written about Mary. She has been given to much power on your web site. God shares his power with no one. Mary mother of Jesus but not mother of GOD. Jesus is God in human flesh second person of the trinity. If Mary was the mother of God then you bring the trinity in .
As far as God being the King and Mary the Queen I totally disagree with. Lord of Lords and Kings of Kings does not need a Queen.
The word says there will be many coming in my name saying here is the christ there is the christ do not believe them.
Everything we hear must be judged by the word of God.If it goes against the word of God trash it, throw it away for it is false. The best thing to read is the word of God, the Bible.

“ancient Mayan prediction of the apocalypse has been found”

It is not necessarily an apocalyptic prediction in the Mayan Calendar for Dec 21, 2012. It is simply the winter solstice for 2012 and all other major and minor cycles that make up the Mayan calendar end on that day, as well. It is referred to by the Maya as something akin to the end of an age. The thing that makes people all freaky about it is that the Mayan calendar ends on Dec12st 2012, you can read all manner of fantasy into that. Although it appears that the year 2012 may be a bumpy one, maybe we are going to make these predictions come true on our own…

GHOST it’s not they their calendar is coming to the end of a round, it’s coming to the end of the cycle, or procession. They were actually very good with their astronomical calculations and being able to not predict, but calculate periods of calamity because of the forces set in motion by Natures God. Unfortunately they fell into the same trap of believing the counterfeit sun god, rather than the God who set it in motion.

Umm, Unix, I don’t know where your hatred of Catholicism comes from, but you sure do spew it! I am a lifelong practicing Catholic and I know more about Catholicism than you ever will. I can assure you that we don’t worship dead people nor do we deify Mary. Mary was chosen by God to birthe His Son. She lovingly raised Him and was by His side when He was crucified. He performed His first miracle at her request. He loved her as His mother and gave her to us as our heavenly mother. Catholics ask her and the saints (aka “dead people”) to pray for us. We, of course, pray to God (the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), but can relate to the humans who are now in heaven and ask them to also pray to God for us. That’s it! Statues are just visual reminders of these humans. We don’t worship these statues any more than you worship pictures of people that you have displayed in your home. Jesus said to Peter, the first Pope, “Thou art Peter, and upon this rock (Peter means ‘rock’) I will build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” (Matthew 16:18) So, the Bible contradicts your claim that the Catholic Church was started by the devil. The human priests and popes who have sinned throughout the past 20 centuries are not the Catholic Church any more than Obama is America. The dogmas of the Catholic Church are fixed and unchangeable. Do yourself a favor and research a topic before you publicly regurgitate venomous comments about it that have no factual

Really? How do you figure that? Oh, I believe that have fallen into bed with the beast, but they are not the beast, and only a tiny fraction of the whore.

John the Revelator said what again concerning the beast? It was, is no more, but shall be again (find it in Rev. 17:8)? Hate to burst your bubble, but there was no Catholic Church during his day, and certainly not before his time.

The beast is a 10 region (nation) empire. Just take a peek at the Club of Romes regional Kingdom map. (scroll down the pdf to the regional map) http://www.docstoc.com/docs/14773223/The-Ten-Kingdoms The only variation is that Mexico has now been added to Region 1. Thus is the reason why Obama and the liberish/progressotards are pushing to NOT secure the border and to give amnesty (includes newt Gingrich who is a logged member of the Scottish Rights – who are members of the Club of Rome).

The WHORE is quite simply the false religion of replacement theology (also liberation theology), Reform Islam, Reform Judaism, and sell-out Christianity of every sect. ALL being tied together under the false worship doctrine (wormwood) of Environmentalism.

Nah, you are a sanctimonious catholic who has been brainwashed, I’ve nothing further to add. Oh, and you pray by rote, say three hail Mary’s and your absolved, LOL, get to a real church and see how they pray. In the Bible, it says your prayers should not be mechanical, and yours certainly is just that. And your priests, my goodness, how many of them have been outed as pedophiles now? Christians say, “If you’re ready(belief in Jesus), what does it matter?”

Then you have others quote the Bible with the verse that says, “no one knows the hour(of the ending of the world).”

But if the Mayans KNOW, and are correct, that directly contradicts the Bible which means it’s false.

I was sitting in the Negev Desert sweating profusely, had a headache trying to adjust my mathematics for a project we were working on for the Israeli’s. All of a sudden I just had the urge to pray, so I dropped what I was doing and prayed. My prayer wasn’t for a solution to my problem. All I could see was people crying, and children running. So I prayed for the Lord to intervene in that. How could that be possible seeing that I’m a Catholic? Been a Catholic for a very long time and I’ve never kissed the feet of a statue, or prayed for a Saint to intervene. Quite frankly I don’t know any of my Church peers who have. Not all Catholics believe Mary to be the third arm of the Trinity, but we do believe her to be Blessed. Nor will you find God fearing Catholics who support pedophile Priests, or call the Priest Father, or the Pope Holy Father.

Just as there are pedophile and corrupt Pastors in Protestantism. That’s why we have to look at the individual, just as Christ Jesus does.

After I prayed in the desert I was in Tel Aviv days later when a mortar was launched. I didn’t see it ( 2 blocks away) but I could see people/children running, and people screaming. No one was hurt in the blast. I don’t believe in coincidence, I believe in providence. But I’m an idol worshiper, right?

      ———————————————————————————————————————————————-
Because you’re using a wrong phrase. There is no ending of the world. That’s fear doctrine. It’s an end of an age. There might be calamities, or there might not. If the past is an indicator of events that appear to work like clockwork astronomically, something will probably happen.

What the Mayan calendar does is no different than what the astronomical calendar of the Magi did. Point to an event. Not the exact time or day, but the season is pretty evident based on the Word. It simply makes them observant. Satan knows how it works better than man does, it would, and isn’t a surprise he would allude to events. That’s how counterfeits work. The serpent will give you an OCEAN of truth, just to have you drink a pint of poison. It will kill just the same.

That they point to a particular time isn’t prophetic, simply that they know God is right.

That’s basically what I said, but I believe that the UN has just been a tool for the elite to manipulate. The elite are the Club of Rome.

Any religion that doesn’t teach absolutes, but appeasement theology (moral equivalence/relativism of metaethical philosophy) of any sort is wormwood (false doctrine), and part of the Whore of Mystery Babylon, which is a patchwork of ritualistic practices of paganism. The church of the beast teaches the later, and is unifying it under the worship of the created thing, the environment. Which they are also designing as the monetary basis of their false kingdom, using carbon credits.

In short, it is a technocracy based on worship of the earth as an equivalence, moral equivalence over moral absolutes, a demi-ethics based on tolerance, and man or the elite as god who decides who lives, and who dies to ensure that their idol of earth worship isn’t burdened by the parasitic mankind sucking all the resources, thereby killing earth itself.

They have become apostate, and a useful idiot for the elite to wield against the people who simply follow blindly. But that is true for every sect of the Christian faith. I became alarmed when they began agreeing with the idea of extra-terrestrial visitation, and actively constructing observatories in that search. It’s a counterfeit, and makes “those involved” anti-Christ.

This might cause a Civil War between Obama’s new personal civilian Army and the rest of us. While we know the time is near when Jesus returns; no man knows the day or the hour. Haven’t we already seen predictions fail in recent days? Let God be God and we should not worry about the time. Be ready for His coming at any day or hour, receive Christ today – Romans 10:9-13. In response to those of you commenting on Catholic beliefs; Dis you know their official Bible says everything the Christian Bible says? Yet; they don’t teach it as it is to men as they are. Instead, they add a number of books to the Bible, and to their belief system which are NOT considered by the rest of the world to be from God. These are found between the Old and New Testaments and in the various other books they publish called Missels (SP?) etc. Study of these rather than the Bible, all but eliminates Christ as the ONLY WAY to get to Heaven. Having said this; I know many Catholics who read their Bible everyday. Many who have found Christ and who ARE true believers in Him. It is a shame their growth is limited by their church. It is also a shame that so many countries rather allow the Catholic church as the primary religious experience. But remember, the Catholic church was founded near 400AD as a way for the politicians of the time to “control” the people. The first “pope” was selected by the politicians rather than being “called” by God.

I hope those who believe that the Catholic belief is the best or only way will at least begin to read the following passages from their own Bible. While Christ CAN be found in their Bible, it is appalling the lengths “the church” has gone to in order to manufacture and alternative system of worship that is appealing to “the people”. 1) Who should be set over the “church”? read Titus 1:1-5, as written by Paul. Here you see “elders in every city” NOT the pope. 2) Who can be a leader of any church? read Titus 1:6-9. BTW; this is like other passages that grant qualifications for a Bishop (the local leader of the church) to be “The husband of ONE wife….” Priests of today in the Catholic church DO NOT qualify! 3) Who DO we pray to, who CAN forgive our sin and heal us? read 1 John 2:1, 2 We see here we pray to God the Father through Jesus our advocate. Who paid the price for OUR sin and the sin of the world! NOT the Priest, and NOT the pope. Neither of these has the power to do any more than pray for themselves, certainly NOT forgive – or absolve ANY sin for anyone. Notice that we DO NOT pray to Mary either, nor any dead person! They may be in Heaven, but they have NO Power to help us! read John 14:6 No man comes to the Father but by ME; said Jesus.

Perhaps the translation, end of the World, is not being read correctly. If Obama is losing near Nov 2012, I expect him to declare Martial Law and shut down the elections. This might cause a Civil War between Obama’s new personal civilian Army and the rest of us. If Freedom is defeated in America, this could be the end of the World as we know it; the last bastion of true Hope for the all the World.
      —————————————————————————————————————————————
I wish that I had the gift for short and concise answers.

In February of 2009 Obama gave the order to create a “civilian army” (national security force) http://axisofright.com/2009/02/18/groundwork-laid-for-obamas-civilian-army/ and http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/07/obamas_civilian_national_secur.html

It was completely funded thru Military expenditures, and will ultimately be paid for thru Obama’s health care, and those “enforcers” will have the full power of the Obama law giving them their marching orders.

Huh? I CHOOSE to be a member of the Catholic Church, and you CHOOSE to be a member of whatever Church it is that you attend. I happen to enjoy the ceremonies associated with transubstantiation, but it’s a personal preference and belief. I believe ONLY in Christ as the propitiation for my sins, and salvation by Grace thru His shed blood of atonement and subsequent resurrection. If I am faithful to confess my sins, He is fair and just in forgiving them. I do works, not because they lend to salvation, but because they are the testimony of the Spirit working thru me.

I would like to believe that your faith has the same first fruits, and have no reason to doubt you until the fruits prove that we don’t worship God thru that same Jesus, who we as a body of Christ bow ONLY before His throne of Grace.

      4) Who are “the saints” and when did they become “saints”? read 1 Corinthians 1:1-6, written by Paul to the church at Corinth. Notice NONE of these people were dead, neither voted upon some 400 years after death by “the church” in order to become a saint! They were saved people in Christ who were living at that time and Paul called them Saints. They became saints the instant they received Christ as Lord and Savior! Other passages found in 2 Corinthians 1:1; Romans 1:1-7. When we see any principle of God being professed ONCE, we should believe it. But, when we see that principle being delivered multiple times and to many churches, we MUST NOT ignore it and turn away to design our own way, such as the Catholic church has done. 5) Forbidden to marry? and Commanding to abstain from meats? read 1 Timothy 4:1-5 Who is forbidden to marry today – the Priests? Why did “the church” command to abstain from eating meat on Friday’s? The Bible teaches that ALL things God has created are good when we pray thanks for them 1 Tim 4:4 because it is set apart for the purpose of God by the Word of God and prayer. I could go on, and on about the mis-teachings of the Catholic church. I think it is time “the church” wake up and begin teaching truth and not another teaching made by man. Still, I have many friends who are in the Catholic church and who I KNOW are saved! They received Christ on their own after reading the Bible , however, NOT because of the “church”.

@BookLVR51; “Jesus said to Peter, the first Pope, “Thou art Peter, and upon this rock (Peter means ‘rock’) I will build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” (Matthew 16:18)”
If this were indeed true, then what room has Christ in the church? Isn’t Christ the Chief Cornerstone? Ephesions 2:20 (NIV) If Christ is the Cornerstone (the Big Rock) then all others, including Peter – the Apostles and Preachers of today are “little stones” by comparison. Peter means little stone, NOT Rock. Ref. Strongs Concordance #G4074; Petros= Peter, stone. Also, the Catholic church was founded about 400AD and could NOT have had a pope until that time. This church was created under Constantine and until revisionist history was allowed to bring it’s ugly head to light, there was no argument about that. Believe what you may, one day we will all know the truth. I just hope you have received Christ and NOT been fooled into believing the Catholic doctrine of baptism for salvation. Read about Baptism in Matthew :1-17. Jesus being our example was Baptized and His example should be followed in all succeeding Baptisms. So often churches replace the MUCH water that Jesus went DOWN INTO and came UP OUT OF with just a sprinkling. With sprinkling, the only things baptized are the persons fingers.

@The10thAmendment; Please read all of my postings, for whatever reason I did not say again in the post you read and responded to that I have MANY friends who ARE Christians in the Catholic church. One day we will ALL know the truth. However, the knowledge you have espoused came from the Bible and NOT from the extra books that the Catholic church hands out. “I believe ONLY in Christ as the propitiation for my sins, and salvation by Grace thru His shed blood of atonement and subsequent resurrection. If I am faithful to confess my sins, He is fair and just in forgiving them. I do works, not because they lend to salvation, but because they are the testimony of the Spirit working thru me.” Amen! YOU are a brother in Christ. Understand, most people attending the Catholic church do NOT have the conviction that you have and have never opened their Bible, but, blindly believe the churches teachings. THIS IS THE PROBLEM, since their own Bible, which I have DOES teach the truth, but the other books that they spend most of their time in, DO NOT. My comments were made in broad strokes and NOT to offend any single person, please read all I said and do the research as Glenn always says. If the comment is meant for you, God will convict, I cannot judge anyone.

I have a passion for reading. So I have been reading every post in the subjects that interest me. This one fascinates me because of this I believe, and disbelieve. I’m not taking your posts as condemnations by any means, but I was struck with your point of Catholics believing we serve a different God, then say Baptists, or Methodists, or Evangelicals, or Lutheran, or any other sect, or that we’re superior. That’s simply not the case for many practicing Catholics.

I’ve done serious research into the foundations of organized Christianity, but one thing we have to understand. GOD DOES NOT MAKE MISTAKES! If He allowed the Canon of Scriptures to come into the form they are, He had His reason for that. God isn’t a deceiver, nor does He plot our demise, so His Word remains once all the frivolity of mans petty idiosyncrasies and prejudices are removed.

I am a Computer Engineer by trade so mathematics, physics, and geometry are something that comes as second nature. Basing everything from the Books of Creation forward is amazing to me at how perfectly it has been designed. By astronomy, geometry, and physical man I KNOW that every breath we take declares the glory of God, and that He allowed the Scriptures to come in their present form intentionally. It also makes it easy to spot perversions.

No problem, and I whole heartedly agree with you on this. I chuckle when I hear people say that it won’t be long before we have drones spying on our own citizens. It’s been happening since Bush brought about that abortion known as the Patriot Act.

I was stunned though when my sister told me that she had been channeled into a checkpoint, physically searched, as well as her car, in the State of Tennessee by the TSA. They are further along in their plans to begin police state actions in America than people are willing to understand.

No conspiracy theories are needed. It’s happening in front of our eyes.

The ONLY thing they fear are Christians who believe in absolutes, and a presidential candidate who WILL turn America hard right to the Constitution, and undo their garbage.

      Sweathog,
The “Queen of Heaven” “Virgin Mother” “Mother of God” titles all came from Nimrod’s wife, Semiramis. She and Nimrod set up the Mystery Religions of Babylon. Oddly, she was a whore from the city of Erech on the plain of Shinar (Hebrew for Semiramis). They built the Tower of Babel as a temple to Nimrod. Nimrod was a sun god, Semiramis was a moon goddess, and Damu (AKA Timmuz in Hebrew and Adonis in Greek) was the god associated with Venus.
God confused the languages of the people and the mystery religion spread and diversified. Egypt had their version, Greece had theirs, the Arabs had their version and the Hindus had their version. All the same religion but different names. The Romans really didnt have their own culture so they borrowed heavily from the Greeks. Hence Zeus became became Jupiter, Aphrodite became Venus, Poseidon became Neptune and so on.
When Christianity became the official religion of Rome they did not give up their pagan gods. They just renamed them. Jupiter became Jehovah, Adonis became Jesus, Venus became Mary, and the other minor gods all renamed as saints. For a fact, the actual idol of Zeus from the pagan Roman temple was moved to the Vatican and people still worship it today in the same manner they did 2000 years ago. The Pope still holds sun god worship “mass” when he places the “wafer” (sun disk) into the monstrance (crescent moon). The “wafer” even has the pagan symbol of the Sun god (circle with a + in it).

That’s cool. Thanks for the post. I’ll be absolutely honest with you. I have looked at the several idea’s surrounding the Rapture. There will certainly be one, but my position is that whether pre, mid, or post doesn’t really matter. That we’re prepared, and right with God in every way is what matters. If Christ Jesus returns today, tomorrow or some other date in the future doesn’t sway my eyes from looking for the hastening of His return.

I think we should act as though He might return at any moment (oil in our lamps), and our house in order. Whatever our occupation we should seek to be exemplary as thanks to God for putting us in our positions. We should also prepare for any occasion of calamity as wise stewards to our family and that day won’t be able to come on us unaware.

There are signs of His return all around us, but that day and hour aren’t ours to know. It’s not a trick to catch us doing wrong, it’s the command to be ready for whenever that was. If our ark is ready disaster can’t injure us.

@The10thAmendment; I agree with most of what you had said. I am a Premillenialist because the Rapture can be found described in at least three New testament locations; 1 Cor 15:52, 1 Thess 4:16 and Rev 4:1. The words recorded by Paul in 1 Thess 4:16 and those written by John in Rev 4:1 are nearly the same when they describe the event, both mention the sound of the trumpet being heard. The thing that makes me a Pre and not mid or post is that the book of Rev was written in chronological order by time. We are currently living during the later part of Rev chapter 3, the church of the Laodiceans. Rev 4:1 depicts the Rapture. bingo Pre, not mid or post. You can now get a clear representation of the amount of time that must be left before the Rapture – not much! Yes, we MUST be about God’s business and each of us has a field ready for harvest. Another thing is that I don’t believe Christ would allow His church to go through such a time, out of His love for us. Keep in mind, 2 Thess 2 describes the events leading to the Rapture. Just after the Rapture, notice the words “He who now lets, will let until he be taken out of the way”. He who now lets is the Holy Spirit. That being the case, it says He will be taken out of the way.
That makes sense since I think I remember teaching that there will be no Godly presence left on earth until God allows the 144,000 Rev 7:5 (12,000 Jews from each of the 12 tribes) to be saved and become preachers of the gospel during the tribulation perio

@The10thAmendment; God would not want us involved in a time when He would not hear our request or be ready to respond to us. Instead, I believe it teaches that we will be taken at the rapture, then the Tribulation, then Christ comes with His saints (the church) and He fights the battle of Armageddon, then He sets up His millennial rule here on This Earth, where the Saints will rule cities and kingdoms for 1000 years based upon their talents and how well they served Christ in this life. Then at last, those who live through the Tribulation and enter into the millennial kingdom and all those born during that 1000 years will have one last chance to decide who they will serve, Christ or Satan. Christ will loose the chains on Satan and allow him out to seek and to devour those who will forever fall. Then the last judgment; The Great White Throne Judgment Rev 20:11-15. Those who are judged solely by their works will be sent into the eternal lake of fire and brimstone where they will deliver up the smoke of their torment forever without an end to the suffering.

I simply want to encourage you to study Daniel 9:25-27… In that study and if correctly you will see there is no rapture where folks are left behind. 7 year tribulation is based off the notion 7 years are left in Daniels 70 weeks but those verses clearly show it is not true. Order of weeks: 7,62,1…

*After* 62 the Messiah came and was crucified, which means in the 70th week…

Would love to discuss with you if you’d like. Regardless, we all need to be ready…

One last thing, if you do see the Papal Catholic faith as the Anti-Christ like all Protestant Churches once taught then you would understand we are well past Rev 3. First beast,Second beast and image they made can be identified as well as many seals and trumpets. We are in the time of Revelations right before the beast enforces the mark when the Angel calls to come out of Babylon. The Mark being enforced is coming soon.

The 144k are just like the 300 widdled out of 30k in Gideon’s army because they did not resort back to the flesh in troubling times or out of habit. The 144 will preach encouragement to other believers so they will stand and not take the mark. The 144 will not fall back to the fleshy desire to eat, or have security as they have been tried like we all have each day in life and shown they are of the strongest of faith.

No one will be raptured out to miss the plagues or tribulation. Tribulation occurs daily and plagues are unmixed and directed straight to unbelievers.

Always appreciate a friendly conversation on God’s Word. Keep the faith. God is good.

Quick question, doesn’t this debunk the whole one must stand for physical Israel or not be blessed lie?

Verse used by Zionists is below and doesn’t mention Israel or land but Abraham and his seed.

Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. (Genesis 12:1-3 KJV)

Who is Abraham’s seed according to Paul:

And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:29 KJV)

The real problem with the whole “the Mayan calendar ends on Dec. 21, 2012″ thing is that we don’t really know how the Gregorian and Mayan calendars correlate; Dec. 21, 2012 is the date given by the most widely accepted correlation, but that has recently been questioned as being perhaps as much as 100 years off, so that it is entirely possible that the much feared “end” of the Mayan “Long Count” has already happened.

The Mayans viewed time very differently from the way we do. They are considered the “masters of time,” as they were obsessed with it and their calendar is actually more accurate than the one we use. That said, they also viewed reality a bit differently. All but a part of three of their books were burned by the Spanish, and it‘s only within the last 30 years that we’ve even been able to decipher their writing. To the Maya, everything happens in cycles, including time. What we see as a “time line,“ they saw as a ”time spiral.” There was literally nothing new under the sun as far as they were concerned: everything happens in cycles, and each day has been seen before. It’s more like an endless repetition than it is a chronology of events. Therefore, to look for some kind of end in 2012 is to impose our own standards on those of another culture, religion, and time. We all know how badly that works when the trolls start trying to impose the standards of our times onto the Founding Fathers and the Revolutionary period. One can only begin to imagine how much more wrong we are when we try to impose our standards onto something as alien to us as the Mayan time sense, cosmological view, and culture.

Don’t go taking Apocalypto too seriously, now. Gibson wasn’t actually in the ancient Mayan world: that was his take on a particular aspect of it, and who knows how much he got right. The archaeologists weren’t too happy with it, and neither were the natives. In any case, these are the people who started using the zero a full 300 years before it was “discovered” in India (and subsequently used by the Arabs). They knew about black holes, were predicting eclipses accurately, had a comprehensive knowledge of medicine that way surpassed anything known in the “Old World,” and who knows what else, given that all their extensive libraries were burned by those bastions of civilization, the Spaniards.

History is written by the victor. We don’t know that the Mayans were NOT intelligent. They were defeated, so it just means they were weaker than the Spaniards. You would have to look at ALL of their other prophesies to see if they came true. I like the other post, (paraphrased) if the prophesy doesn’t come about, God didn’t speak to you. MRMAGOO–Totally agree! The Mayans were a blood cult of pagan heathens. Isn’t it ironic that “science” puts so much credence in imagined intellect deciphered from stone carvings and yet dismisses the Bible which chronicles in detail 4000 years of God’s relationship with His creation. It reminds me of the movie, Being There, with Peter Sellers. His character, Chance the gardener, was clueless about pretty much everything; yet, the Washington elite perceived him to be a philosophical genius.

Matt 24:36-37: “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. “But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

    PREDICTION:
No, Dec 21 (Dec 23?) 2012 is NOT the end of the world. However, 2012 will be a signature year as the economy worsens and tensions mount. I believe that we will likely see the beginning of a third world war with the US, Israel, and Europe arrayed against China, Iran, and Russia. Energy prices will “necessarily” skyrocket, deepening the current recession.

In spite of this, the war will bring America back to full employment as hundreds of thousands of troops are mobilized, and as jobs are repatriated from enemy nations. Also, the national debt will be reduced as the US terminates its bond agreements with enemy nations. The oil shortage will force the US to either develop alternative energy sources, or increase production of domestic fossil fuels.

Despite the loss of life, The United States will emerge stronger than before…

It‘s odd how a stone age people who didn’t possess the wheel could have astrological knowledge that rivals NASA of today. Many have theorized that an advanced civilization or even aliens provided them the advanced knowledge. It’s hard to say, but the Mayans are quick to point out that they were given “external” knowledge. As others have said, the closer we get to 2012, the more crap has been happening in this world….earthquakes, civil unrest, sun activity, economic disasters, weather related problems, possible Canary Islands landslide, etc. This whole 2012 seems more and more plausible as we approach the date-that in and of itself is very disturbing. It can’t hurt to be preparing for some kind of disaster. The whole year 2000 prophecy wasn’t really a prophecy by anyone except tech geeks dealing with computers. This 2012 prophecy has been around for centuries. As we approach the date, it will become more obvious that the Mayans were on to something. Then we have to ask how they obtained this knowledge centuries in advance.

Then they had to go and make up stories about why it all is and cut open captives and virgins to appease something that was already happening before they ever looked up.

From the research I have done, cross referrencing the astonomical and geological sciences and dating technologies The logial conclusion is that the Mayan/Aztech calendar ends because it will no longer referrence the passage of time as we know it. Due to the passage of our Galaxy throught the intense magnetic field that exists in the event horizen that extends from the central black hole in the center of the universe. This passage happens every 25,600 years as mapped by the astronomical sciences. and actually becomes a logical progression of events as we experience this transition. The number of days in the year will change, the hours in the day will change (possible that the earth will stop rotating for a few days) the poles will shift changing the relationship of seasons and climate of some areas drastically (as they relate to the north and south polar regions). This event will effect every body in the solar sytem, Every solar system, star, planet and heavenly body in our Galaxy.

Effectively Time does not end, the planet does not end, but the upheaval, chaos, and ultimate terror of the sky seemingly falling from heaven will be tramatic. The Galaxy will take approx. 6.5 years to pass through this region of space and is expected to start around 12/21/12, the winter solstice. The effects on the sun and the planets will be chaotic and dramatic. But, it will not be the end of the planet or the extinction of human kind, although many will die.

I could dismiss one or two ancient “prophecies” (the mayan prediction really is more math than religion) if modern science didn’t show so many things converging on this date as well. The earth‘s magnetic field weakening and the sun’s activity strengthening. the poles shifting (they’ve had to seriously adjust some airport runways due to this). One report said the poles could shift causing the earth to slow to a stop and start spinning in the opposite direction — all in one day. Think of the seas sloshing out of their basins. They say this happened close to 30,000 years ago, and that is why so many cultures have a Great Flood story. I don’t claim to know or understand what will or will not happen, but the evidence is pretty compelling. I prepare for this just like I prepare for the economic collapse. Hopefully I’ll just have a bunch of extra food around, lol.

The iron core of the earth destabilizes and flips upside down; let’s say its spinning counter-clockwise, which causes the earth to spin counter-clockwise and the sun to rise in the east. when the core flips upside down, it will be spinning clockwise, which will cause the earth to spin clockwise, and the sun will rise in the west. You have to realize that the sky was the ancient people’s world — the average mayan walking down the street knew more about astronomy than most astronomers today. Their calculations indicate that the center of the universe (a black hole they call the Womb of the Mother), will align with our sun and our planet. They called this the Passage to the Underworld, I think. ISN’T THERE ANYONE AT THE BLAZE INTRIGUED ENOUGH TO WATCH A COUPLE DOCS ABOUT THIS AND REPORT?

He will be the one that is “The abomination that makes desolate. Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.Matt 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

      @BOMUSTGO

There are a few things i disagree with. End of the world means end of the age. The earth and heaven will be destroyed and God will create a new heaven and a new earth. There are scriptures that mean the end of the world and scriptures that mean the end of the age. One must take it in context that it is written in. Walter Martin creator of the Bible Answer Man Show once said, A text taking out of context is a pretext. Context is very important.

We will know when there is 7 years left, when the covenant is made. The Great Tribulation has already started when the Anti-Christ makes a cocenant with Israel.
The word says we will not know the day or the hour that the Trib. has started. We could be in the beginning stages to the Trib.now, and then again we may not.

I believe in the mid-trib when the Christians will be raptured. God has said that the Christians will not see the wrath of God, because Jesus paid the price for our sins. As long as we are born again and believe in Jesus we do not face the wrath of God. The word does not say that the christian will not face the wrath of the anti-christ. This is why I believe we will be raptured half way through the Trib. But even then I do not believe we will know that it is midtrib. There will be so much going on in this world plus God has told us we do not know the exact time of his return.

I think… Christ told his followers… to build the Kingdom of God on Earth… as part of Salvation… where as you add on to the Kingdom of God on Earth… you will be added on to the Kingdom of God in Heaven… being a Duality!

@ LUKERW..We will live on the New Earth, in our New bodies, in the New Jerusalem. We don’t go to some city in the sky. The New Jerusalem comes down from heaven to the earth.
Rev 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

      2 Timothy 3

1 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

It doesn’t matter if the world ends in 2012 or 5012. Live every day like it‘s your last and you’re going to meet God and you’ll be fine.

Very enlightened Al. Please do not take this offensively (as I repect your religion an especially your God), but this person who believes in the existance of more than one God is with you one that.

It is not the “End Of The World” — It is the End of a Cycle (the Long Count), where every Ending creates a New Begining!

The Mayan/Aztec calendar ends because of the disparity after the effects of the transistion through the gravitational field of the event horizen of the universal black hole. The caledar woud then need to be re-created to represent the new standard day and year, to represent the passage of time and the cycles of the stars and planets as they settle into their new orbits.

I believe it’s poppycock. (I have always wanted to use the word poppycock!) BUT – the Mayans had their stuff together. They made the Greeks look like dopes! I guess we will see in a year & change; if we last that long.

The world doesn’t end, the age does. The geometric knowledge applied to astronomy of the Mayans, is the same as the Egyptians, which is the same as the Chaldeans (from which Abram came from). Using that is also how the “Magi” understood when the birth of Christ would be. Earlier civilizations understood the rhythm of the cosmos and how it applied to physical man a lot better than we did. They were hardly idiots.

Anyway, it’s the end of the age, not end of the world.

They are the British Empire ? Quote from La Rouche “Now this is being set up by the British Empire, and nobody else. And nobody else. If you don’t think the British Empire is the enemy, you don’t understand the ABCs of the situation.

“A war now, do you know what it means? Do you know what thermonuclear weapons mean? Do you realize that what’s going on in the Middle East, so-called, cannot be waged by anything other than nuclear weapons? This also means thermonuclear weapons?

UK gave /lost two of their nukes? InfoWars news
