Another Shakeup? Jon Huntsman’s Campaign Manager Resigns

Jon Huntsman Campaign Manager Susan Wiles ResignsReady for another GOP campaign shakeup? The Washington Post reports that former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman’s campaign manager, Susan Wiles, is resigning. According to sources, she will be replaced by Matt David, the current communications director for the campaign. This announcement will be made during the team’s staff meeting later this afternoon, though the Post has already confirmed it with officials:

“Susie has served the campaign well and was vital in getting it off the ground in such a short time-frame,” [top adviser John] Weaver said in a statement provided by the campaign.

The campaign did not provide details regarding the reasons why Wiles is vacating her position, however officials did claim that the former director is leaving on her own accord. No conflicts with other staff were mentioned and Wiles, herself, confirmed: “This was my decision. It was more about feeling like it was time.” National Journal reports:

Wiles most recently ran Florida Gov. Rick Scott’s winning campaign in 2010 and said it was time for a break. The Huntsman campaign was based in Orlando, about 130 miles northeast of her home in Ponte Vedra.

…the shakeup nonetheless raises questions about the viability of the former Utah governor’s campaign. It has struggled to gain traction since Huntsman returned from his role as U.S. ambassador in China in the spring.

While some of complained that the campaign isn’t moving as quickly and swiftly as had been hoped, Wiles is the only resignation to emerge from Huntsman’s team thus far (one other individual stepped away for personal reasons). The campaign’s release, though, touted Huntsman’s accomplishments and seemed to indicate that everything is going as planned. In his statement, Weaver said:

“In just under three months, Governor Huntsman has returned from China, launched a campaign and created a strong infrastructure in the three early primary states. He’s built important relationships with donors, as well as political, policy and grassroots leaders that other candidates have been courting for half a decade.”

This is not necessarily reminiscent of Newt Gingrich’s campaign woes back in June, but it is certainly worth keeping an eye on. Campaign departures are often the first sign that something within the apparatus is awry.

This guy appears to be another “lifetime political” wannabee and does not look like presidential material to me. In fact, there are few, if any, “candidates” who look like they are not what America needs at this time. He should run for another ambassidor job. Maybe China or North Korea.

Huntsman won’t be there when the smoke clears in the primaries…Go back to china Jon…Utah, The number one weapon carrying state in the good ole USA…God Bless America

As governor, Huntsman showed his true purple colors as a liberal (conservative) when he met with another liberal (conservative) Arnold S., who at that time was governor of California. Together they agreed on a global warming treaty that would have commited Utah to an environmental agenda without legislative approval. Needless to say, governor’s are in no position to sign treaties of any sort without a legislative review. This is just one example of many as he came out of his liberal closet once elected as Utah’s governor. Mixing red & blue makes a very purple person. His true color now shown, I see red when I think about any other hidden agenda’s yet undisclosed by him. Look out!

IF a Mormon is ever going to be elected President, he’ll need to be more like a Jason Chaffetz or Mike Lee than a Romney or Huntsman. The conservative rhetoric needs to trump any discussions about religion. We need outspoken and unapologetic candidates like Allen West and Joe Walsh, not pretty marshmallows like Romney and Huntsman!

I‘m starting to think that all of these RINO’s who have zero chance are running just so they can liv the high live off the federal funds given to candidates.
Why else would Huntsman, Pawlenty, Cain and Santorum stick around when no one likes them?

He’s nothing more than a typical b.s. politician. He’s cut from the same cloth as the buffoons in Congress, Republicans & Democrats, who have caused every damn problem the American Taxpayer has been forced to endure…and pay for – again and again.

Keep him out. He can go play beer pong with his President.

Vote for huntsman. That is, if you like the Chinese way, because that‘s what you’ll get. Huntsman is a fraud, and he’s very dangerous to the American way of life. A vote for Jon Huntsman is a vote for communism.

Conservatives are going nuts knowing that only Mitt Romney has a chance to beat Obama, however remote. All those Tea Party candidates have no chance. But I do hope Bachmann gets the Repub nomination. That will ensure that America can become the great progressive nation of the world.

I flat refuse to vote for Mitt Romney because he is a mainstream media sweetheart. They’re trying to give him the support to get the nomination and be the front-runner because he was defeated easily and early in 2008. They think they can do it again. That’s exactly how we got stuck with the unwinnable John McCain in 2008.

I FLAT REFUSE TO LET THE LIBERAL MAINSTREAM MEDIA CHOOSE OUR CANDIDATE. I’m choosing a TEA PARTY candidate only. In 2012 we are going to put OUR CHOICE IN THE WHITE HOUSE. NOT YOURS! Liberals are such losers…

Some of these candidates are like “Jack in the boxes” they pop up, throw their hats in the ring, then seem to disappear. Haven’t really heard anything about Huntsman since he declared….but, I guess he wasn’t on my short list either, so maybe I’ve missed things about him.

I guess his fundraising efforts fell largely on deaf ears. It figures. Ya gotta get on TV so people can see you after you announce your run… You’re absolutely right. No way to run a campaign. Hermits and recluses don’t win elections. File this one in the “not-serious” category.

There is alot at stake in the next election, I don’t know much about Huntsman, but didn’t he work for Barack Obama? I vow to research the candidates in depth after Obama and the path he has taken us. The people want a truthful candidate, that is a citizen of the U.S. understands fiscal responsiblity, will defend our borders, and believes in the One True God. We want a President with a proven record of hands on involvement, not one who votes present. This country voted for and received chaos from a Community organizer, due to a media whose agenda is also socialism, and because the Public was basically braindead and infatuated with Barack Obama’s speaking abilities…They never examined the whole package or investigated his qualifications!

This is funny. I’ll bet that one voter (not 1 percent, mind you, but one voter) in Iowa who said he supports Huntsman, is worried today. No matter how much Huntsman family money is spent to create the illusion of excitement, it appears they can’t get anyone to jump on the bandwagon. Apparently, other people don’t share their opinion that little Jonny is just fabulous.
