Increased Fallout from Lavish Gov’t Party in Vegas as More Talent Show Videos Released

There‘s more fallout today regarding the General Services Administration’s (GSA) lavish conference in Vegas (which led to the resignation of the department’s leader). Not only are more videos out (there are ones of employees are seen singing about President Obama and going green; angry clowns; and even Gumby), but now the House committee on oversight is pointing out at least one of the videos was done during work hours.
On Friday, several additional talent videos were released showing unnamed workers performing skits, including one entry from GSA Region 7. The video, which the committee calls “POTUS Wants a Press Event,“ features the workers singing about going green and the president wanting a ”press event“ and a ”product he can show.”
“POTUS wants a press event, a project he can show,” the workers chant. It adds later: “Are you ready for a miracle? GSA’s going Green.”
The House Committee on Oversight and Budget Reform is especially interested in that one. Why? The committee notes that at the conference the district head joked about the movie being made on a Friday, presumably during work hours (information it says was edited out of videos on Friday):

Report Post »First lady Michelle Obama’s family trip to South Africa and Botswana in June cost taxpayers well over $424,000, according to new accounting based on Air Force manifests obtained by Judicial Watch, a taxpayer watchdog group.
The use of Air Force aircraft alone for the June 21-27 trip cost $424,142, said the group, and that doesn’t include the food, lodging, and ground transportation for the 21 family and staff members.
The daughters were listed as senior staff.

Posted on April 9, 2012 at 3:17pmHawaii Reporter research shows the total cost for the President’s visit for taxpayers far exceeded $1.5 million in 2010 – but is even more costly this year because he extended his vacation by three days and the cost for Air Force One travel has jumped since last assessed in 2000. In addition, Hawaii Reporter was able to obtain more specifics about the executive expenditures.
The total cost (based on what is known) for the 17-day vacation roundtrip vacation to Hawaii for the President, his family and staff has climbed to more than $4 million. Here’s why.
TRAVEL: $3,629,622
The biggest expense is President Barack Obama’s round trip flight to Hawaii via Air Force One, a cost the GAO office estimated at $1 million in the year 2000. Contacted today, the GAO confirmed there is no report the independent office affiliated with Congress has prepared since 2000 to operate Air Force One and Air Force Two.
However, the U.S. Air Force provides the most current numbers of $181,757 per flight hour. Travel time for Air Force One direct from Washington D.C. to Hawaii is about 9 hours or $1,635,813 each way for a total of $3,271,622 for the round trip to Hawaii and back.
The cost for USAF C-17 cargo aircraft that transports the Presidential limos, helicopters and other support equipment to Hawaii was not made available. However, the flight time between Andrews Air Force Base and Hawaii is at about 21.5 hours roundtrip, with estimated operating cost of $12,000 per hour. (Sou

This is really just one little instance in an ocean of government waste. Three hundred dollar claw hammers? Six hundred dollar toilet seats? If we had a flat tax we could fire half the I.R.S. and put the remaining half at the back door of the treasury to monitor where the government spends it. I still want to track down the 2 billion Obama sent Brazil just after he announced the moratorium against opening new oil leases off the eastern seaboard. The 2 billion was to aid Brazil in developing their offshore oil exploration. Just so happens George Soros invested a wad of money there too. Damn Crooks!
