Anti-Abortion Group Releases 2nd ‘Gendercide’ Video Showing Planned Parenthood’s Alleged Sex-Selection Abortion Assistance

On Tuesday, Live Action, a pro-life group based in San Jose, California, released the first part of its series on sex-selection abortion, the process of terminating pregnancies based on an unborn child’s gender. Part one of the “Gendercide: Sex Selection in America,” series showed a Planned Parenthood counselor in Austin, Texas, allegedly giving advice on how to obtain a gender-based abortion.
The second part, released this morning, allegedly showcases a similar conversation recorded at a NYC-based Planned Parenthood office earlier this year. In the undercover clip, an employee allegedly helps a woman (an actress brought in by Live Action) determine if her child is a female so that a requested sex-selective abortion can take place.
A description of the YouTube video, posted by Live Action, has more about the conversation that is sure to trouble pro-life activists:
In the video, Planned Parenthood social worker Randi Coun advises the woman on an early, definitive method to tell the gender of her child in the late first or early second trimester: “So if you were to have what’s called a CVS test, which is, do you know what that is?” she asks, referring to the genetic Chorionic Villus Sampling test. “It’s done between 11 and 13 weeks, so it is a test that you could do now.” CVS tests have a risk of miscarriage of about 1 in 100, which Coun did not mention, and are typically done to test for genetic disorders in a pregnancy.
Coun also reassures the woman that she can carry her pregnancy farther into term before her abortion. “An abortion at any stage up to 24 weeks is considered a safe procedure,” she asserts. ” It’s not that it’s unsafe, or that there’s a lot more risk involved, it‘s just there’s more steps involved and it’s just a little more complicated.” Planned Parenthood’s Margaret Sanger Center in New York City does abortions up to 24 weeks of pregnancy and is the organization’s national headquarters.
“I can tell you that here at Planned Parenthood we believe that it’s not up to us to decide what is a good or a bad reason for somebody to decide to terminate a pregnancy,” Coun adds concerning the woman’s request for a sex-selective abortion. Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards yesterday opposed a ban on sex-selective abortions on the grounds that it would “limit [a woman's] choices as she makes personal medical decisions.”

As The Blaze previously reported, Planned Parenthood responded to the first video and condemned gender-based abortion — but the group declined to ban the procedure at its clinics. The U.S. House of Representatives will be voting on a potential sex-selection ban, which could carry prison terms of up to five years.

As with any “sting” operation it is the shock factor…the obsurb being reality that is sought. I would say this sting accomplished that as many people are outraged that women in the country are so heartless that they would abort a female and keep a male.

I kept thinking if Live Action can show a second video in another city, the pro-abortion people have no more excuses left.
Planned Parenthood is sooooo busted! I think Live Action waited for the progressives to make a fool of themselves defending the first video, and then prove them wrong with the second.

Ever heard of ADOPTION! There are waiting lists in this country for babies and most families have to go overseas because America is too busy killing our future. I worked with a organization that counciled young women on avoiding abortion and set up direct adoptions. Parents wait years for a baby, why/ The number one reason given by young women why they chose to kill their babies over giving them to a loving home…vanity! “I don’t want to get fat”.

The brain begins to develop at week 5. It is unfortunate that when we learn about sex ed in our school systems that they do not teach the truth about the developing child in the womb. From my personal experience as a young adult I never really understood how quickly everything starts developing so I do understand your ignorance. I am glad that my birth mother gave me the choice to live and make decisions for myself when I was unable to do so. The brain that appears at week 5 is not the brain to which Walkabout was referring, the one that is sucked out in late-term abortions. That’s why the decision to abort, if it is to be taken, ought to be taken as quickly as possible.
No, a baby is not like a mole or unwanted hair. We do indeed live in a society of entitlement and selfishness, but I do not think forcing women to have unwanted children, even if with the prospect of adoption, is a sound idea.
No, neither you nor I nor anybody else would be here having this discussion if our mothers had chosen abortion, but that is neither here nor there with regard to a woman’s right to have one.
There are, as you say, two lives involved, but one is actual and the other is potential. Very hard choices have to be made, and I do not see who is better qualified to make them than the pregnant woman herself.

Most people feel that when the heart starts beating that it IS a life, not a potential life. (I personally believe life begins at conception but we will leave that out of the argument) The heart starts beating about 5-6 weeks pregnant which is 3-4 weeks after conception. Generally in an unplanned pregnancy the woman will find out she is pregnant when she has her first missed period. At this point she is considered to be about 5 or 6 weeks pregnant and the heart is already beating.
I am not sure what your opinion on “when a life is a life” but a heart beat is pretty hard to deny that it IS a life at that point and not a “potential” life.

Posted on May 31, 2012 at 12:48pmGOOD! This is about the way it is. We keep our mouths closed as not to offend, but I’ve notice here lately, I really don’t care whom I offend anymore. But we can’t be complacent and let these things slide as if they will take care of themselves. If we are so offended, we must stay on the horrors of things we’ve allowed in this Country. We are not China or the others places who do horrible things.
