Anti-Bullying Crusader Attacks the Bible and Curses Christian Teens During High School Speech

Dan Savage, the founder of an anti-bullying campaign that has reportedly reached more than 40 million viewers, and has contributors that include President Obama to Hollywood stars, dove into unexpected territory while giving a speech at a high school journalism conference Friday.

There, instead the planned discussion on the dangers of bullying, Savage seemingly turned into a “bully” himself, albeit a powerful, adult one.

Reports say Savage’s speech quickly turned from the subject of anti-bullying into an event in “Christian-bashing,” causing as many as 100 students to simply walk out of the event.

Here’s a clip of the speech (Warning: Adult Language):

Savage noted that Americans disregard much of the “bulls*it” in the Bible, from laws about shellfish to those about slavery, and we just need to clear one more “hurdle” in disregarding writings about homosexuality.

“The Bible says that if your daughter’s not a virgin on her wedding night– if a woman is not a virgin on her wedding night– she shall be dragged to her father’s doorstep and stoned to death,” he says, yet “Callista Gingrich lives.”

Then, seemingly unable to resist a jab at Republicans, he added, “and there is no effort to amend state constitutions to make it legal to stone women to death on their wedding night if they’re not virgins.  At least not yet– we don’t know where the GOP is going these days.”

One student in the audience, Rick Tuttle, remarked, “I thought this would be about anti-bullying…It turned into a pointed attack on Christian beliefs.”

CitizenLink, which broke the story, interviewed a 17-year old girl who explained: “The first thing he told [us] was, ‘I hope you’re all using birth control!’”

He also reportedly told the students about how good his partner looks in a speedo, and called the students who walked out “pansy a*ses.”

The National Scholastic Press Association and Journalism Education Association, who co-sponsored the event, responded in a statement that they did not have a prior transcript of the speech, and wished he had stayed more “on target.”  However, they wrote optimistically: “We have already heard from some advisers who have turned this into a teachable moment for their students.”

One teacher was more condemnatory, saying the language and material was inappropriate for high school students, and if anything, Dan Savage was bully in this regard.

“If he was doing this with a bunch of college journalism kids, that would be a different story — that’s more rough and tumble. How many of the kids who didn’t walk out felt backed into a corner?  To me, that’s bullying behavior. It has all the symptoms, as far as I’m concerned.”

Candi Cushman, a CitizenLink blogger, concluded:

“Using profanity to deride the bible – and then mocking the Christian students after they left the room — is obviously a form of bullying and name-calling,” she wrote.  “This illustrates perfectly what we’ve been saying all along: Too many times in the name of ‘tolerance,’ Christian students find their faith being openly mocked and belittled in educational environments.”

Nothing he noted was from the New Testament! “Christians” did not exist until Christ rose from the dead to prove he was the Son of God, and had defeated death.

The Christians who walked out know this and they politely rose to their feet and in an orderly and nearly silent manner, voted the speaker down and walked away – turning the other cheek. I am certain that they gathered and prayed hard for the speaker and those that remained behind.

THANK YOU BLAZE! This is the BEST VIDEO I HAVE SEEN ALL YEAR! I never look for Satan – he is always present – I always look to see if God is present. Yes God was there – watch the Video and notice the young girl walk out – 20 second later another and another – and then a steady flow of our youth that had the guts to get up and walk out! Thank you God Fearing Youth of America – I will stand with you.

Blaze posters – take off your blinders – open your eyes – one of the first thing this administration did is to spend 500 Million for the arts. It went straight over everyone heads – Obama now owns the Artist, and Musicians of America. This is nothing – just wait – you wont believe whats coming next!

The Post I read are so naive- its like you just witnessed Jesus Death at Calvary – and you told everyone that noway can he he rise again in three days – BLAZE READERS – GOD DOES NOT LIE – STOP being so surprised when you see God in Action.

God told those youth to GET UP – AND WALK OUT – He did not tell them to sit there and be the VICTIM.

It is going to get worst – this is Satan’s Superbowl – Then Jesus will return – and the Victory is for those who are still around and still believe.

I walked out of a Church 20 years ago that preached about the Good Samaritan and Turn the other cheek – every Sunday! Those that are from his church are still listening to that Man of Satan Speak!

I choose to put on the Whole Armor of God and claim my Victory! Read the Bible!

Sounds like a typical intolerant gay activist. Disguised as some anti-bullying peace crusader, he is just a left-wing bigot full of hate and venom. Reminds me of the old south with bible thumping KKK members with a noose in one hand and a bible in the other. Hate and evil disguised with self righteousness. The left, the clan of the modern age.

Sure, go ahead and bully Christians! We’re an easy target; we generally will not fight back and often “turn the other cheek” as our Savior told us to do. Go ahead and target us, and make fun of our beliefs. Even if your core message about anti-bullying is good and correct, you’ve just corrupted it by making fun of other people and being a BULLY. As a Christian, I do not believe “gay or lesbian behavior” is good, but I try to abide by Christ’s teaching of “love the sinner, but hate the sin.”

And if this person had some real “kahones,“ why not go after the ”religion of peace” – islam! That p.o.s. religion is all about bullying. Bullying non-believers and “infidels” (including gays!) into submission and persecution. Bullying women into subordinate roles and servitude. How about you go after them, or are you afraid they might attack you or put a fatwah on your head.

No, this person is too cowardly to attack islam, and we all know, bullies are cowards.

Rabid Patroit – The God of the Bible does not LIE! When he told us that Satan has mighty power – I believed him and I also believed him when he said that Jesus has ALMIGHTY POWER – This means that Satan is going to show all of his cards – and it is going to blow most away – NOT ME! I stand on the Word of God that says – I am the Victor – not the Victim!

Pray for our Black Friends, Welfare Recipients and Luke Warm Christians – that will soon follow Satan because they believe Government can save them.

I look for the signal of a person to see if I should trust him – The very Moment Obama said – Israel should go back to 1967 Borders – I knew then God was with me and he told me my vote should never go for a man that wants to destroy Israel!

If I am to believe my God – then I am to believe that this Satanic Speaker is nothing compared to what is coming.

Once again – I cannot praise the Youth enough for getting up and walking out! God Bless Them!

Ever since God destroyed the two homosexual cities of SODOM and GOMORRAH, homosexuals have hated God. Its no surprise that this happened. Remember that Abraham and Lot bargained for the city with God and won a deal that if they could find 10 good people in the cities the cities would be spared. TEN people. How many good people are left in America?

Christians are not under the law of Moses so his comparision is mute and stupid. Christians are not also saying you should be stoned, beat up or anything else and using the Bible for justification. However Muslims are. A bully or someone who bullies is technically far from the Lord and thus not a Christian. A Christian has the right to push back by simply walking out and leaving the area and having nothing to do with those who continue to sin….like stealing, abusing anyone, drinking, drug abuse, etc. Christians do not use those chapters to attack gay people. As far as I’m concerned I am just as much a sinner as a gay person. I disagree with their lifestyle and that is my right as an American but also as a Christian. I can chose not to approve of any behaviour I judge to be detrimental to society like drug abuse, drinking while driving etc. What I will not tolerate is some bully telling me I must accept their lifestyles…any lifestyle take a pick just because they say I must approve and respect it. I don’t expect them to respect me for being a Christian and believing that the Living/Loving God created the Universe. They don’t believe, I will not force them nor bully them to believe…its up to them. This whole presentation is utter lies and distortions. Beside that, his presentation was completely abusive and bullying to anyone who does not agree with him. What makes him any different than those he says are the real bullies…nothing.

Ho hum; another homosexual attacking the Word of God…I’m glad some had the courage to get up and leave. The New Testament does deal with the issue of homosexuality apart from needing to cite Leviticus. To have a homosexual lecture the Christians on “what the Bible says” is laughable to the extreme. What this man says or thinks about what the Word may or may not say is immaterial to me. For any who care to, read Romans 1; it deals with homosexual behavior (as well as other sexual sins) and does not distinguish degrees of sin. One is as bad as another. It concludes that practicioners of such do not have sound minds. I submit that this guy‘s behavior in front of a gullible high school crowd is proof that he doesn’t have a full deck when dealing with issues of morality. Those who stayed and participated in his abberancy by agreeing with him also face the same unsoundness. Happily there is always forgiveness, something that God has always offered and their god never has..

What this brute beast says is of no consequence. The statisticall lifespan of homsexuals is 25 years less than the average. I love Homsexuals and Lesbians but hate their sin. @momrules – Wow your post is providential, there are also 33000 Protestant denominations who also pick and choose verses to support their beliefs. Read the verses below and see if you come away believing in Sola Fide (saved by faith alone) and/or do you now find yourself searching the scriptures for alternate verses that prove these verses wrong? It’s not either/or it’s both/and. It’s not either John 3:16 or 1 John 2:4 it’s Both John 3:16 and 1 John 2:4. (Eph 5:3-12) (Heb 5:9) (Heb 6:4-6) (Heb 10:26) (Rom 2:13) (1 Cor 10:13) (John 13:17) (John 14:15) (1 John 1:6-7) (1 John 2:4) (3 John 1:4) (3 John 1:11) (Matt 7:21) (1 Peter 3:12) (2 Peter 3:16) (James 1:12-15) (James 1:21-22) (James 1:26-27) (James 4:3) (James 4:6-9) (ames 4:17) (James 2:14-27) if any of these verses causes you or anyone else to begin searching for alternate verses that seem to cancel out or prove these verses wrong they are playing games with Gods Holy word and trying to make scripture fit what they already believe instead of making what they believe fit scripture. God Bless…..

As I read the Bible I ask God to give me understanding. I also read a great commentary by J Vernon McGee. I listen to preachers I like that teach the Word of God, preachers like John Hagee and I speak with other Christians that I trust who follow the Lord.

If a pro athlete signs a seven year contract to play for one team, he can not up and go play for another. He serves the one master, until his seven years are up, or anther team purchases him. Hear any sniveling on that one?

What one religion in the world do we find the most slavery? It would be islam. Do you think gay boy here would knock Islam, and get folks to clap for him. If he put down Islam, the teachers and principal would run and tackle him, and throw him out the front door.

take it personally from a Christian:
      1. slavery is in the bible for the same reason why women are told in the bible to submit: culture. if you honestly want to stop taking the Bible out of context Mr. Savage, the Bible also sais that after 7 years, you must release the slave.

      2. correction: being gay is a sin, just like any other sin. its not to pick at gays. God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve, not Eve and Ivy.

      3. farming? really?

      4. shellfish, again, was restricted for culture. God said not to eat any fish that doesnt have scales or fins, and with good reason, because commonly, fish without scales or fins tend to either eat anything or are filter feeders. thus, they have impurities in their body. SIDENOTE: this was put in the Bible long before this was known by men, because God created those fish, so obviously He would know.

      5. Stoning women if they weren’t virgins was, again, culture, which at the time suppressed women. If you actually knew the Bible, you would know John 8:1-7, where Jesus changed this. The pharisees bought an adulterer before Jesus (a woman they had caught in the very act), and they referred to the same law as Savage. They said: The Law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say? And Jesus said: Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. SIDENOTE: the nect question is: does this apply to Jews? In their own eyes, no. But in Romans 10:1-4 (paraphrasing) I pray that they (the Jews) will come unto Jesus.

RJJINGADSDEN, Exactly, Christians are in the way. They know that following the Golden Rule and The Ten Commandments will prevent society from bowing down to their agenda. Christians are strong and they prey on the weak. Christians will refuse to follow and put any man before God. I find it strange that they can bully Christians yet accuse Christians as being the bullies. Just as they claim to be defending the middle class when their agenda will destroy it.

This adult attacking children in a school setting is wickedness and nothing short of criminal. The demonic left demands we respect the faith of others while spewing hatred towards our faith, even the faith of our children who have done no wrong to them. If I ever begin to doubt God’s reason for creating hell I will play the video of this demon infested filth. Amazing that this swine used points from the Jewish bible i.e. the Torah, and a way of life that existed 4,000 years ago. What is known as the Christian religion did not exist back then, the new testament being the foundation of the modern Christian faith upon which America is founded. What sickens me most of all is the knowledge that when the angels drag vermin like this to the lake of fire they will be begging and pleading for the eternity they have forfeited never having shown a trace of remorse for the terrible evil wickedness they spewed out upon the children of God today.

The HYPOCRISY of the progressive left truly knows no bounds. In a speech that was supposed to (rightly) be about anti-bullying, this moron showed us a perfect example of bullying. What would this idiot have said if a speaker, Christian or not, had started berating homosexuals and described their behavior as wrong. “INTOLERANT!” They would have been screaming it from the rooftops. I will never understand how anyone can demand tolerance for their beliefs and way of life (as we all should), while simultaneously ridiculing another for their beliefs and way of life.

This is exactly the type of progressive activist that gives all gays a bad name and makes it nearly impossible to create a reasonable dialogue. As a gay man, I’m saddened every time I see these nut-jobs berating those who disagree while demanding tolerance. It is the very definition of hypocrisy and shows the true colors of the left. It is designed to divide, not unite. When someone attacks another’s beliefs, that person has no choice but to push back. If, as I do, the progressive left truly wanted tolerance and to be left alone to live in peace, they would NEVER attack the basic right of others to believe as they wish. Their real agenda has nothing whatever to do with tolerance. Shame on them and shame on this idiot who so misused his platform.

Good job, to the students who stood up and politely exited. It’s a real shame ANYONE sat there and listened to this idiot.

The notion of or the concept of “tolerance”, IMHBLO, “IS” at the root of all of this garbage.

Principles and or convictions of morality and ethics are the foundation of human character. Compromising those principles in the name of “tolerance” is diametric opposition to ‘principle.’

“Tolerance” “IS” a kind of derivative of the communist democrat tactic (right out of rules for radicals) of ‘projection’. Where you have seen the democrats act in a destructive way and then assign that via blame to the GOP or some other opposition group, like the TEA Party.

Only with “tolerance” they are projecting THEIR (lack) of principles THEIR (lack) of morality or ethics onto you or me or the public in general. And we are expected to drop our principles, or morals and ethics, our faith in God and His commandments and His Word so that all who approach the gate of access to our personal world of living to a higher standard are permitted under the threshold.

This “IS” a devious undermining of the foundations of social advancement. Leading, eventually, to where we can not agree on anything. And so building anything of future value becomes impossible or nearly so. Babylon.

HappyStretchedThin, It may be falling on deaf ears to activists like him, but it’s important for Christians to continue to speak up and loudly for the sake of the audience. It is their understanding that is important and that means bombarding false statements like what he makes at every turn.

At the end of the day, this guy is doing the same thing of twisting Scripture as David Koresh, Jim Jones, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and Muslims. He’s no different than them. But if we continue to allow these guys to speak unchallenged, then we will regret it.

Sorry, Ruler4You, you’re totally wrong. This country was created by those seeking tolerance for their beliefs. They escaped an intolerant ruler to come here where everyone could practice their way of life with no interference from others.
Tolerance does not demand approval, just the opposite. Tolerance is allowing someone to live in a way with which you disagree, without ridiculing or harassing them. I’m fine with you not accepting or approving of my way of life, just as I may not approve of yours, but we are both free to live our lives OUR way, free from the fear of ridicule or attack from others. The entire point to a constitutional republic, that guarantees liberty to live with the rights granted to us by God, is that the individual, and his choices, are sacrosanct. No one gets to tell another they must live or believe a certain way in order to exist peacefully. So long as the way one lives does not infringe upon the rights of another to live peacefully, no one else gets any input.
Most Christians would not approve of a Hindu’s belief structure or way of life. If they believe the Hindu will be excluded from the Kingdom of Heaven because they don’t believe in Christ, how could they approve? But no good Christian is going to harass or ridicule that Hindu, they TOLERATE their neighbor’s beliefs.

A timeless comment on homosexuality (from 1070 a.d.):

Saint Peter Damian, another Doctor of the Church, a Cardinal and great reformer of the clergy, wrote an entire treatise entitled the Book of Gomorrah against the inroads made by homosexuality among the clergy.  In his important work, St. Damian describes the iniquity of homosexuality as well as its psychological and, more importantly, its moral consequences:

“Truly, this vice is never to be compared with any other vice because it surpasses the enormity of all vices…It defiles everything, stains everything, pollutes everything.  And as for itself, it permits nothing pure, nothing clean, nothing other than filth….The miserable flesh burns with the heat of lust; the cold mind trembles with the rancor of suspicion; and in the heart of the miserable man chaos boils like Tartarus [Hell]….In fact, after this most poisonous serpent once sinks its fangs into the unhappy soul, sense is snatched away, memory is borne off, the sharpness of the mind is obscured.  It becomes unmindful of God and even forgetful of itself.  This plague undermines the foundation of faith, weakens the strength of hope, destroys the bond of charity; it takes away justice, subverts fortitude, banishes temperance, blunts the keenness of prudence.  And what more should I say since it expels the whole host of the virtues from the chamber of the human heart and introduces every barbarous vice as if the bolts of the doors were pulled out.”

Many people get bullied. It is apparently Dan Savage’s
stupid opinion that only the bullying of gay people matters. Furthermore, he seems to
think that when gays are victimized the Bible is always the culprit. If this were
the case we wouldn’t see the bullying of fat kids, frail kids, smart kids or kids
who are socially out of sync for any number of blatant or obscure reasons. In
other words Savage’s analysis of bullying is so self-serving it is practically useless. Savage
uses his podium to vent his personal anger at the Bible, and apparently at those
who respect it by calling them “pansy-assed.” He refers to his own self-righteous bigotry as “pushing
back” implying that he is heroic and brave. Perhaps when he
figures out that the essential cause of bullying is intolerance and disrespect,
he’ll take a good look in the mirror and see the thing he hates.

Indeed, some have gone so far as to call him Satan (but for this instance I will ignore the fact that humans and Angels are of different species) Where are we in fasting and praying for this wayward child of God to have a conversion experience and renounce his life style and return to the Lord? What of this prodigal son who has yet to hit rock bottom? Is it not better to fast and pray that he repents and love the Lord God with all his mind, body and soul? Why are you so willing to dismiss him to Hell, and not willing in Love and Honor of God fast and pray for him? How much more will it speak to God’s Mercy, Love and tribute to Jesus’ redemptive sacrifice if we ourselves sacrifice and pray on his behalf and he does convert? Pray, pray, pray for our brothers and sisters to come back to the Lord. This is what God desires. What shows more love than to give of ourselves to God for the sake of another in need of Him?

MOMRULES, nothing Dan Savage was saying was incorrect (though it was bullying, mean-spirited and an inappropriate venue). The Bible does say homosexuality is wrong, right where it also says a lot of sexual acts made by Christians, especially those legislating morality and telling us homosexuality is wrong, are wrong. And it proscribes death for those acts. Deuteronomy 22:13-29.

You keep saying take both the New and Old Testaments in context. Jesus says in the Sermon on the Mound that nothing in the New Testament invalidates the Old. Matthew 5:17.

You obviously have not read the Bible yourself, and are just repeating back what you THINK is in there. And thus, in effect, you are spreading falsehoods about the Bible. If I am wrong, please, point to the passages in the Bible that prove me wrong, that prove what Savage said to be incorrect.

      @BRUCE P.

I believe that God’s laws are perfect, we are not.

To point out the fact that we continually fall short of compliance is reason enough to prove that we are an imperfect people trying to build up God’s perfect Kingdom.

It is my understanding that the Ten Commandments and the Law of Moses were given to His children as a minimal guide of behavior.

When Jesus came, he did not, as you say, come to destroy the law, He actually came to raise the bar. The Sermon on The Mount is an example of this; ie, not only ‘do not commit adultery’, but don’t even think of it…

The things of God are spiritually discerned, according to Paul, and foolish to those without the Spirit.

I have a testimony that Jesus Christ is the Savior of all mankind, even you, and if we but come unto Him He will cleanse us and heal us and we will inherit all that He has. This however, is not unconditional. We must do our best to follow His laws, therefore, it is best to find out what those laws are and get to work.

I refuse to get into an argument verse by verse. As MOMRULES says, it is the book in its entirety that must be looked at.

The Bible is the word of God. He intends for us to study, pray about and learn of its concepts.

MOMRULES, I find it telling that instead of telling me where in the Bible I am wrong, where I am misquoting and misunderstanding, you instead simply say “Read the Book” and refuse any debate or discussion. It is evident you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about, have no true understanding of the Bible and only repeating what you THINK it says. I have read the Bible. It is obvious you have not.

Walkabout — those passage proscribe death for adulterers. It shows Christian hypocrisy, in that they cherry pick which parts of the Bible they wish to preach morality from. It says nothing about how I view women (and says a lot about how ancient peoples did).

Bruce you are correct he is not lying – but he is 1) ill informed and 2) misleading.

We have to biblically remember Jews didn’t always have the law. For many many many years the people of Abraham lived in faith with their God, before becoming slaves to the Law of Moses. That’s one of the things Jesus restored – live with God thru faith not law (works). God granted the Jews of Egypt a moral Law because they insisted to live by law rather then grace. So God gave them it to prove to them that you can not live by law – but must live by grace and mercy from God.

Now fast forward a few thousand years to after Christ. Christians are to be the people who live by grace not law. And if there is to be a law – it’s to Love. Love God 1st and then your fellow man.

Also we are not bound by the law given to Arron of the tribe of Levi, Mose’s brother. Since Jesus’s mother, Marry was of the tribe of Judah – making her son Jesus a brand of the royal line of King David. Since he had no father their is no way he could be of the line of Levi. So he could not be a Priest – but to be the Christ he had to be part of a priestly order. Which in Hebrews Paul tells us he was of the order of Melchizedek — making him bound to the law of eternal peace which is love that begets life — not of an earthly system of morality which leads to sin ( falling short ) and death ( the consequence of sin ). Hebrews 5:1-10

      IN SHORT
Christians – you’re free! Be free – No weapons will prosper. G

@Bruce P: Christians are not under the law. Christ & His apostles taught us what to follow. For those of who are Catholic, the Magisterium continues to explain & help us understand those teachings. Those who are not Catholic are taught by their pastors & ministers. And, most importantly, we are all taught by the Holy Spirit. As has already been mentioned, the New Testament speaks clearly on sexual sins in Romans 1. Homosexuals don’t get off but then neither do fornicators (those engaging in sex before marriage), adulterers or others engaging in sexual sins. It isn’t a matter of picking and choosing but rather that we are called to be holy as our Father in Heaven is holy. On what do you base your accusation?

BRUCE P. – You’re right – wasn’t lying re those scriptures, but not required now b/c Christ took care of that —…

We Christians honor and revere the Old Testament, but we interpret it through Jesus Christ and the new era of salvation and fulfillment. The Old “law” was to show people how much God hates sin and that it is punishable by death in His Holy view of real justice (that we don’t understand)..“the wages of sin is death”. (Romans 6:23)
The difference between Matt. 5:18 and 24:35 is subtle, but important. Matt. 5:18 places time restrictions on the Old Covenant. Its words shall not pass away until heaven and earth do and “until EVERYTHING IS ACCOMPLISHED” On the other hand, Matt. 24:35 says that Jesus’ words will never pass away, even when heaven and earth do. This places no time restrictions on His words. His words subtly and quietly take authority over previous sacred texts.
Jesus does not destroy the law as a whole, but He does fulfill passages, such as animal sacrifices. Jesus fulfills the JUDICIAL aspect of the Old Testament…like His death on the cross takes away the severe penalty of death for sins like homosexuality and cursing parents. His death takes their place because divine wrath for human sins was poured on Him on the cross.

We see and feel decent society melting away in these last days, the last days that God’s Word describes for us. So, should we be surprised when we see and hear this kind of blasphemies?

No, we actually expect it to get even worse than what we experience in our daily lives.
Revelation 12:12 gives us the reason that this savage man spews out his so-called wisdom: “On this account be glad, YOU heavens and YOU who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to YOU, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time.”

You missed the whole Jesus thing. Oh yes you did.

Jesus says that he came in fulfillment of the Old Testament.

So Adulterers are supposed to be stoned in the Old Testament. But Jesus also said let those without sin cast the first stone. That doesn’t mean that Jesus is okay with adultery. He says adultery is still abhorrent. But as the Son of God he can change the rules.

All the laws of the Bible are still in effect & they pertain to us except for Jesus has a more nuanced approach. That & there are laws that apply to Jews & not to the rest of us. I don’t see a problem here.

      @Bruce P.

Here is one of the most taken out of context passages of scripture.
It is the perfect answer to Bruce about whether Christians are expected to kill people for sexual sins.

John 8:1-11 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

“.there are over 31,000 Bible verses and the left picks and chooses the ones they want to use to bludgeon the Christians with. ”

Part of the reason so many people misunderstand the Bible is because they think there are over 31,000 Bible verses. There are books and there are letters and the whole bible tells one story. We must understand the plot of that story if we are to understand the details.
Chapters and verses are just a reference devices that men invented to find specific things in the Bible. When we focus on “verses” it is very likely that we will take them out of context and misunderstand their actual meeting.

Have you ever been in debt? Had a student loan to pay off? Had a mortgage on a piece of land? Maybe filed for bankruptcy?
By biblical standards you have been a SLAVE. Such were indentured servants in biblical times.
Think about your own slavery to sin. Aren‘t you glad God didn’t just let you live in your slavery so that you could have eternal separation from Him in the afterlife? He made a way to pay off your debt to Him and the debt of the whole world. He freed us slaves from the bondage to sin.
If God had never addressed slavery and how slaves should rightly be treated, we would not have His object lesson to show us our bondage and Christ’s redemption.
Now can you better understand God’s use for slavery in the bible? God can use all of man’s vices and evil devices for His purposes and for His glory, even slavery. In the interim God also made sure in both the Old and New Testament to show us how to treat slaves in our midsts, even those enslaved to sin that show up at our door today.
I will leave it to you to glean what greater message God could use spousal virginity to teach us. Maybe you would see it in the way God refers to false religion as harlotry and the way the Church is the bride of Christ? But you go figure it out.
Ultimately it shows that God does not wink at sin and that the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.

Throughout the bible God uses the husband and wife theme as an example of the relationship between Christ and His Church. This is one way that homosexuality destroys what God intends for us to use as a way to better understand Him.
“For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.” Ephesians 5:31-32

Second; Homosexuality is just one of many “lifestyle” choices that separate us from God. I doubt that many thieves are praising and lifting up the name of God as they are breaking into a stranger’s house. The same is true about homosexual behavior, murder, adultery, lying, etc. and the bible calls these lifestyles sins. Living in sin means making lifestyle choices that we choose over the Christ centered lifestyle that God intends for us.
Jesus doesn’t want to be just one lifestyle choice on a list of your ten favorite lifestyles. Jesus wants to be number one on a list of one.
Who then is the true hater? Is it the Christian who shows love by pointing you to what the bible says is the way to eternal life? Or is it the one who would blind you to the love of Christ by affirming your sin that will eventually lead you to eternal separation from God?

The following is the Apostle Paul telling us a little bit about himself.

1 Timothy 1:12-15 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

Matthew 5:17-18, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. You continue to repeat quotations but offer no understanding of what any of them mean. You seem to think that not changing the law means we will do everything as we once did. What is your understanding of the verse you quote? What is your understanding of Jesus’ response to the woman found in adultery as well as to her accusers? What is your understanding of living under the law of love?

I can’t imagine what life would be like as a Gay person. I think they only make up about 7% of the population. I believe they think that they have the right to force their life style (strength in numbers) on others. BUT BOTTOM LINE: I think that every person who received any Education in the USA since the late 50′s is probably screwed up because the Commies (who admitted this last year) had plants in our schools; in our press; certainly in Hollywood and music business…and their main goal was to 1) corrupt America 2) remove our morality 3) destroy our faith Of course they didn’t make it in Russia but their poison did. Lazy people love Communism, they love the idea of not having to work “that” hard and still get ‘everything’. Arianna Huffington is an aging, bitter old broad whose husband (whom she thought could be Pres. of USA) ended up as an outted GAY GUY (messed up his CA political race he was expected to win) All of these immature Liberals, these messed up kids who have been fed MISINFORMATION for 60 years are coming home to roost.
What none of the “would be Commies” get is that is still a “good ol‘ boy’ network only if you’re not in it, you do stay downtrodden. At least in Freedom, poor people have a chance ! THINKABOUT IT.

What bullies like this twit can’t seem to comprehend is the unbelievable hypocrisy in their words. This moron comes before a student body under the pretext of discussing anti-bullying, then uses a bully pulpit to blaspheme Christianity. What scares me the most is they are so wrapped in their agenda, that anyone disagreeing with them deserves and GETS insults, ridicule, sarcasm, anger and vile language. I applaud those students who stood up for their beliefs and left the auditorium. This is Christian persecution, straight up.

If we’re not in a place where the anti-Christians can point at us and mock us, then we’re in the wrong place anyway. Standing up for what’s right and leaving this supposed anti-bullying bully to his rant build character–which is the REAL way to stand up to REAL bullies. Yeah those Christians are such bullies, that must be why the Catholics rioted in L.A. in ‘92, and must be why the Pope is always having riot planning meeting with Frances Fox Pivens. And while people are Christians, of course it doesn’t mean they are of the godly understanding, because those people with godly understanding, now they really are big bullies – especially like King David in his youth – with the way David ‘slung’ the ‘Word’ of God to smack Goliath right square in the forehead, and it sunk into Goliath’s forehead – Probably because Goliath didn’t have the mark of the beast in his forehead – therefore the word of God penetrated Goliath’s forehead.

Of course it makes sense, people such as yourself included believe David slung a stone hitting Goliath in the forehead literally like a modern day slingshot. And then you believe David drew Goliath‘s big shiny sword out of it’s scabbard and using Goliath’s own sword, cut off Goliath’s head. And people believe that because they don’t even want to believe Christianity and the way Jesus spoke of the sword of his mouth.

Btw, this video should prove what we are up against as a nation. I truly admire the courage of these young people in their ability to do what is right even when figures of authority tell them it is wrong. I remember things like this when I was in school. I was one of ten people to walk out on a health teacher that gave a seminar to over 100 students about how abortion can give you a second chance at being successful in life. One of the people with me was a 17 year old girl who was 6 months pregnant. The educational system in this country is something that twist people and breaks them, only the most righteous of us even survive it with any sense of self and even then how much of that is just luck. This and things like it give me hope, and I think that hope is what we all need right now.

This is despicable to say the least and if my child were at that school and had to listen to this guy’s hate speech, the school would be in A LOT of trouble and I’d make sure I had plenty of support to make sure nothing like this EVER happened again! Will they be targeted (had to ask the obvious) and get an “incomplete-grade” because they did not complete the assignment? I ask that because Rush L had a college-student on his radio show on Friday & asking good/probing questions & before starting the answering of the student’s questions, Rush asked if the student worries he will get an “F”. (Relax you liberals) We conservatives joke but we have concerns because of the liberal/slant in our education system 1-12 grades & colleges/univer..

This perverted young man should have never been asked to speak to high school students. When he does, it is tacit approval of his ideas by the school administration. What was even more alarming, however, was the cheering that occurred when he bashed the GOP and the Bible, offecnding many students and insinuating that they would stone women. The cheering students were the ones who probably needed a message about bullying more than the ones that walked out. The Christian religion that I belong to teaches me to love my enemies and do good to them that persecute you.

I was very pleased with the number of students who had the guts to get up and walk out of the offensive BS this guy was spewing.

What you go through & sometimes you can’t control, eventually you stand-up & brush yourself off & obey God and leave all the consequences to Him. P.S. If there is a Muslim preaching against gay rights, women’s rights, freedom of speech, and so forth, in this nation, you better damn well believe we will criticize them. And if you decry to talk about the atrocities Islam inflicts on women and religious minorities in other countries, I’ll be right there beside you condemning those evils.

But when discussing how politicians in this country are attempting to legislate morality, it makes no sense to attack Islam, as Islam is not the dominant religion, not the religion of the vast majority of politicians, not the religion of those who have the power to force their “morality” on other people. Christians are that religion.

“In my view, the Christian religion is the most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government ought to be instructed….No truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people.” Noah Webster, author of THE American Dictionary.

“While we are zealously performing the duties of good citizens and soldiers, we certainly ought not to be inattentive to the higher duties of religion. To the distinguished character of Patriot, it should be our highest glory to add the more distinguished character of Christian.” George Washington, 1st President of the US

“The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity. I will avow that I then believed, and now believe, that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God.” John Adams, 2nd President of the US

Bruce, I have news for you, all legislation is about morality. If there’s no moral standard, God, everything is just opinion. Whether Hilter was right or Mother Theresa was right is just his opinion against her’s without a moral standard. If murder, rape, theft is right or wrong is just a matter of perspective.

He does. Mr. Savage has been a frequent and vocal critic of oppression of women and gays in Islamic countries, and unwavering in demanding that Muslims emigrating to the west must leave that behind and embrace our standards of equality and individual liberty.

      BruceP
Who are the ones that see it as immoral that some have health care while others don’t? Who see it as immoral to deny a woman the choice of an abortion as a means of contraception? Who is preaching the immorality of not funding woman’s abortifacients? Etc. etc.
It is not the Christians alone who legislate morality, get it?
Judging by the laws being passed I would conclude that secular humanistic morality is what is being legislated and unlike Christians, humanists answer to no higher power than self. With Christian morality, at least you get a standard that has been around for a while.
Nancy Pelosi (RC), Harry Reid (LDS), Rev. Wallis, Rev Flager, The Revs.SharptonJacksonWright, are seeing more of their “Christian” morality imposed upon us then anything any Christian on this sight would care to see.
Bottom line Bruce is that the tired old line about Christians wanting to force their morality down everyones throat is actually TRUE. Because we love this country, and all its people, homosexuals, blacks, hispanics, white, yellow, purple, young, old, and un-born enough to battle against the secular humanist’s destructive legislative morality. We don’t like the Godlessness and Lawlessness that your children are being forced to endure.
And don’t even get me started on the encroaching morality of Sharia Law.
