Anti-Obama Film Becomes Top 10 Movie in America; #1 Conservative Political Documentary of All Time

The Dinesh D‘Souza Obama documentary exploring the president’s alleged anti-colonialist roots has become a top 10 movie in America.

Movie theaters across the country reported their box office numbers on Monday. Those numbers spelled good news for “2016: Obama’s America.” How good? The movie is now the #7 film in the country, in front of highly-rated “Premium Rush” and “Hope Springs,” starring Meryl Streep.

The website Filmfans.com has the rankings:

But the news gets even better. According to Filmfans.com, the documentary is now “the highest-earning conservative political documentary ever.”

But wait, there’s more. According to the Washington Post, the film is also the sixth-most popular documentary of any kind:

This was the second-lowest-grossing weekend of the year, but the film’s $9.3 million seven-week haul is still enough to make it the most successful conservative political documentary of all time, as defined and ranked by Box Office Mojo. It’s also the sixth-highest-grossing all-around political documentary, ranking behind four Michael Moore films and “An Inconvenient Truth,” which starred Al Gore and glaciers.

“It’s like the sophomore on the varsity squad who comes out and plays better than the seniors but they still lose the game,” Keith Simanton, managing editor of IMDb, told the Post. “It’s still impressive.”

    My wife and I took two of our seven children… that was just a preaching to the choir night at the movies. We pretty much knew most of what was revealed from being informed by the Blaze and such.
    The folks who need to see the movie are the blinded Obama Zombies. The Brainwashed Americans who only are looking selfish wants, and entitlements. You know… Democrats.

      The Dems in my family would never go see this movie. They say anything that puts Obama in a bad light are made up lies from the right. They never question Obama on anything, they believe everything he says. My sister-in-law is a Professor of Economics in a College back East and she told me she thinks Obama is a very intelligent man, I nearly lost my lunch. Obama Zombies is a good title.

      Um.. 9 mil over 7 weeks when your film was under 1 million to make is a huge success! I’m in the film industry and Mr. Molen is a friend of mine. A little background, a film has to make 3x what it cost to make before it breaks even. Anything after that is pure profit. The money spent above and beyond the cost of production is for prints and ads… marketing. This film came out one very few screens (less than 300) for the first several weeks. It has grown to over 1100 screens.

      Do you understand how successful a film has to be before it grows in screen numbers? Big Hollywood movies don’t increase in number of screens. They come out on thousands of screens and then diminish over the first few weeks.

      That this film has made over 9 million is beyond well done… it’s unbelievable!!!

      9 million dollars over 7 weeks = an average of 18,500 people per week seeing it in a country that has 250 million people over the age of 18.

      For a campaign ad it’s doing well, but for a movie it’s a flop

      The movie opened on less than 10 screens for the first 4 weeks, then increased to 61, 169, before it’s wide-release of 1,091 theaters.

      Compare that to Fahrenheit, which opened on 868 theaters its first weekend.

      The movie came out in small number of theaters,1095. The other movies over the weekend came out on average of 3400 theaters. Do the math on the totals per theater and 2016 won hands down. It was a smashing success.
      Please don’t comment on the movie unless YOU HAVE SEEN IT. Take notes and do your own research on what you disagree or question in the movie. Stop being drones and Kool-Aid drinkers.

      Did you realize that the majority of everything in the movie is directly from the mouth or pen of Obama himself. Being you worship him, I would think you would be pleased that so much of the movies is directly from Obama.

      Stop lying, its unbecoming an officer and not very christian like. The movie comes from the Roots of Obama’s Rage, a book that lies about Obama and what Obama said. Not that you seem to care much for the truth or have the intelligence to understand when you are being lied to.

      You need to read both. Read Dreams from my Father, and read D‘Souza’s book. I have read them both. Unlike you, I do not fear reading something from a different opinion. I read more Huffpo than Blaze. I watch more liberal news than any other. I never watch fox. I know truth when I see it.

      If you watch the movie, you will see it quotes more from Obama’s book than any other source.

      From your posts and name calling, you sound a bit scared? I think this movie has you worried. You hate it when truth rears it’s head.

      Do you realize the significance of labeling his memoir “Dreams FROM my Father”?

      Who was Obama’s father? For one, he was a drunk. he killed a man while drunk driving, he knocked off his own legs, and later he died from drunk driving. He married four women, fathered many children, and never raised or supported any of them. he stated that it was OK for a government to tax a worker 100% of his income. He despised the British and british colonialsim. ever wonder why Obama sent the bust of Winston Churchill back, his first week in office? he snubs our best ally, to fulfill the dreams of his drunk, bum, communist father.

      You really should read more Encinom. you might be surprised at what you learn. Get out of the basement, let the sunlight hit you, and synthesize a little vitamin D.

      Ranger Dan. you need to learn how to read in context. D’Souza is a habitual liar, his book and this movie based on his book misquotes, mistates and removes any context from the quotes they use. They use the little lies and big lies. D‘Souza would make Goebbels proud with his use of lies to misrepresent the President and the President’s words.

    Sad to say most of the people in the audience when I saw it were over 50. The younger generation are more effected by future events than are seniors, but it is hard to make them take notice before it is too late. The audience also applauded after it ended.

    Saw this last Friday. Absolutely a Must See. When you want to know what makes a person tick you look at his childhood. This is all you need to see to make sense of the crazy stuff The Zero is doing; from the bust of Churchill to immigration to oil. This film connects all the dots. Dinesh did his homework and because he comes from an anti-colonial society (India) he really gets it.

    Go see it. Take a Lib (even if you have to buy them a ticket. It’ll be worth it.)

    We saw the film this week end and the theater was packed. I agree, it is NOT an anti-Obama film. It is a statement about the facts and people who shaped his world view. And, his world view, if given another term will destroy everything good that has built America. He wants a weak, mediocre America. It’s what the man believes we should be in relation to other countries. In Obama’s America, America is not a leader, but a follower. Lord help us if he gets another term. Only morons would vote for this man. He knows that, so he’s actively courting the Moron Vote! The democratic convention will boast the most ludicrous platform in the history of this country.

    It’s not an anti-Obama film. If you agree with the anti-colonialist perspective and favor economic justice for everyone, then the film will increase your support of President Obama. The only ones who come away with an anti-Obama message are those who disagree with his views.

    I will say again that this was really not about BASHING Obama as much as it was telling the TRUTH. It was a glimpse at where he came from and how his view of the world was formed. It IS an ANTI-Socialist movie, which I totally agree with and Obama is a SOCIALIST. Worth seeing the comparison between two immigrants from poor countries with completely different views of the American dream.

    I went to see it with the majority of viewers being seasonsed cititzen. Although I already knew much of the story line, it is still well worth the 10 bucks. Tell others to see it.

    I found it to be a good contrast of values and beliefs regarding the direction for America by a Anti Colonialist and a Constitutionalist.
    It certainly exposes the President for his lack of traditional American values regarding the Constitution and how the Nation was formed on capitialism, and Judeo-Christan beliefs.
    Happy Labor Day # 25 for a 50 year old Obama

      You can buy the book “Obama’s America” that just came out at Amazon . It is just like the movie with a little more detail. It came out about 2 weeks ago. And the good part, you can pass it on.

      @ Heavyduty: I went for $5:50, @4PM on Saturday, I never go to movies for $10.50. It’s only 86 minutes long, once you get thru all the ads. Very educational, and it isn’t anti obama, which surprised me, actually. I found it to be well made, particularly the last 30 minutes or so. If I didn’t find the job obama was doing so disgusting, I would have probably left feeling sorry for him, Jeez, he was really brought into this life by some rotten people. My major thoughts on him now consist of , basically, two lines of thought. 1st, you are known by the company you keep, and 2nd, tigers cannot change their stripes.
