Anti-Obama Signs Ignite Controversy: ‘Somewhere in Kenya, a Village Is Missing Its Idiot’

A local business owner in Hanson, Mass. is testing the limits of free speech by putting up two large and inflammatory anti-Obama signs.
Right outside of Sullivans, Inc., a motorcycle accessories distributor in Hanson, a large sign displays President Obama and says: “Somewhere in Kenya, a village is missing it’s idiot. Obama One Big Ass Mistake America, Vote Mitt Romney for 2012!” On both sides of Obama’s shirt collar are images of the hammer and sickle, a well known symbol of communism.

Several feet away sits another sign that shows a pouting little girl seemingly giving the middle finger to President Obama. The sign reads: “Thanks, Obama” in bold red letters before continuing in child-like handwriting. “You’ve spent my lunch money, my allowance, my inheritance, 35 years of future paychecks and my retirement. You jerk.”

Some local residents are calling for the signs to be taken down and argue they are over the top and offensive, the Patriot Ledger reports. Meanwhile, others say free speech extends to everyone, including people with obnoxious opinions. Hanson is largely Democratic, has a population of about 10,000 and is located about 18 southeast of Boston.
One father told the Patriot Ledger that he has to prevent his children from seeing the sign with the little girl giving the president the one finger salute.
“If (my 6-year-old daughter) saw that, she’d say ‘Why is that little girl doing that? What does that mean?’” Folsom said. “How do I explain that?”
“That type of statement is real real redneck,” another resident said. “It’s regressive and not progressive.”
Police have received more than 40 calls in recent from people complaining about the signs, mostly to complain about their content, officials said. Police are also concerned that the signs are placed close to a dangerous intersection and people are stopping their cars to see the signs and snap photos, according to the Patriot Ledger.
However, other residents have expressed their support for the signs, not because they necessarily agree with the message, but because it’s a matter of free speech.
“People are sensitive nowadays anyway,” said one local retired Navy vet. “Those days are past, so I’m not too worried about it.”
Local officials claim that the owner of Sullivans, Inc., Robert Sullivan, did not get the required permits to put the signs and have actively tried to have them taken down. “It is a sign that … is in violation of general bylaws. It also doesn’t meet any of the zoning bylaw criteria for the signs to exist as they are,” said Robert Curran, Hanson building commissioner and zoning enforcement officer.
Sullivan’s attorney, Roger S. Davis of Quincy, said free speech and First Amendment protect his clients right to put up the signs.
“First amendment to the U.S. Constitution. It’s called freedom of speech,” he told the Patriot Ledger.
When asked about officials’ claims that the signs violating town bylaws, Davis said the matter “has already been resolved” with Town Administrator Rene Read.
“I’m not at liberty to discuss it. That’s my understanding,” Davis said.

I do agree that the Republicans played a part in the digging of this financial hole, and I was thoroughly ticked at the Bush Admin along with the entire Republican dominated Congress for trying to Outdemocrat the Democrats from ‘01 to ’06. Just like the Dem-wits, that Congress could not give away money fast enough. And, Bush failed to nix any of the bills that came across his desk. But, the majority of the fault does not lie with the Republicans considering 0bama has borrowed and spent more money than every former U.S. President combined.

As for owebama, he certainly has the spirit of the anti-christ and seems to be setting the table for his entrance. As I’ve said before, God sets up kingdoms and takes them down, and I think owebama was given to us as a wake up call. And, I believe it has awakened our country who now see where this toad is taking us. I, too, saw evil from the first day I paid attention to him in 2008, and I cannot look or listen to him for this reason. I will always trust in the Lord and not be anxious for anything. We are told to be vigilant for we know not when that Day will come. But the signs are definitely showing what our Lord told us to look for.

As much as I detest this man in office who has us teetering toward becoming a totally government controlled land, I’m also saddened at the lack of thinking and lack of morals on our side. For what‘s it’s worth from an old timer who has been actively anti-Liberal/Progressive for over 50 of his 72 years, keeping in mind that I’m just as upset with the state of the morals of our nation. Not only is the finger disrespectful to the President, but are there no more morals at all anymore? Growing up, I would have been beaten with a strap if I had done that to a grown up, now so many here are cheering, not caring that their own children are seeing that and hearing their elders encouraging the picture.

Doc, please go back to your bible and research a bit more. Obama is certainly an anti-christ as described by John, but almost just as certainly not the final anti-christ if such a figure even exists at all.
Biblical evidence is thin at best for a world leader that will rise up and be indwelt be Lucifer, take a head wound, rise on the third day and declare himself to be god. I know you’ve probably been taught that all your life, just as you’ve been taught there will be a rapture, (of which there is no real evidence either) but please understand, these teachings are simply theology, and a single interpretation of the events covered by Bible prophecy.
I have my own ideas based on my own research such as, the 70 weeks of Daniel has been completely fulfilled, we’ve been in the tribulation since the late 1600s, Islam is the beast of Revelation. I flatly reject the idea of a single man who will be the final anti-christ, and I flatly reject the idea of a 7 year tribulation.
Now, I‘m not saying I’m right. I could be further off than the theology I reject. What I am saying, is please, research these events for yourself and don’t go around postulating that every world leader whom you dislike could be “the anti-christ”.
With all due respect, a reactionary attitude like that makes, not only you, but Christians in general look foolish. I truly mean no disrespect or offense by that remark.

Report Post »The problem with that statement is the conservatives get forced into compromises with the liberal/socialist. The spending is either going to be 100 billion or 50 billion for the entitlements in order for the conservatives to get anything on the table for their constituents. So instead of using a backhole to dig this hole our debt represents the conservatives opt to use a posthole digger and a pick ax. The hole gets deeper, but in a slower fashion. The hole got a lot deeper very quickly with King Hussein running the country because when the TEA party conservatives put their foot down and said no more compromise, King Hussein either did what he wanted through executive order or had one of the departments create a new standard to create more spending in an already approved budget.
In order to stop the hole from getting deeper, you have to stop digging. The liberal/socialist want to dig until the middle class is completely gone and all that is left are the entitlement class and the super wealthy they can steal from to pay for the entitlement class.
The middle class in America built this country the government didn’t. The middle class in this country paid the taxes to build the schools, streets and bridges and also provided an opportunity for those who needed jobs to work their way to middle class.
The middle class also paid for the wages of every single teacher, fireman, nurse, doctor and government employee in America.

But, I don’t think that I ever met anybody that was conservative every time I went off post. I would like to visit this town, and those signs are hilarious. If by some chance he really is still clueless, just tell him the girl is being very naughty because the gestures meaning is a big insult and you do not want him to do it. Kids are generally satisfied with very simply explainations.
