It’s official. “When Mitt Romney Came to Town,” the controversial anti-Romney documentary has been released (we already brought you the trailer). The film simply adds fuel to a fiery campaign season has been characterized by intense infighting between 2012 Republican contenders who are vying for the White House.

As can be expected, the film stops a few steps short of channeling some of the angst created and present within the Occupy movement. While slamming Romney’s record and painting him out to be “more ruthless than Wall Street,” the 28-minute docu-drama deals some startling blows to Romney’s record.
In addition to dubbing the presidential contender as an individual characterized by viciousness and corporate greed, the film takes aim at the former Massachusetts governor’s time at private-equity firm Bain Capital LLC. It is there, the film alleges, that Romney was responsible for the loss of thousands of workers’ jobs.
Below, watch a clip from the film that highlights the plight of workers who were allegedly impacted by Romney’s actions:
In every political cycle, candidates and their supporters often stretch details and make assertions that don’t always pass the smell test. According to Bloomberg, this film is no different. For instance, the film claims that Romney’s financial statements show a personal fortune that amounts to “at least a quarter billion dollars.” This, based on a Federal Election Commission disclosure report last year, may be an overestimate (he may have assets that value $190 million).
Additionally, the film features a woman who claims that Romney owns 15 homes; according to current knowledge, he owns three — one in Massachusetts, one in California and another in New Hampshire.
The Daily Caller’s Jamie Weinstein dubbed the film a “Michael Moore-style attack ad.” And considering the bankroll that’s driving Willing Our Future as well as the timing of the film, there’s a lot at stake for both Gingrich and Romney. Reuters reports:
The group behind the video, Winning Our Future, plans to spend $3.4 million advertising in South Carolina before the January 21 primary there, according to source familiar with the organization’s advertising buys.
The ad bashing Romney is essentially an answer to one attacking Gingrich that was produced by a pro-Romney group and is widely credited with hammering Gingrich’s standing in public opinion polls.
South Carolina’s primary is crucial because it could be the last chance for conservatives such as Gingrich, a former House speaker, to keep Romney from sailing to the Republican nomination.
Here’s another clip from the film:
“When Mitt Romney Came to Town” was released today in South Carolina and will likely be seen by many eyes before the state’s primary later this month. Considering the fact that this is Gingrich’s last possible opportunity to gain new-found traction, it’s likely to be heavily promoted and heralded by his supporters.
You can watch the entire documentary here.

Posted on January 11, 2012 at 9:42pmIt’s quite the spectacle to see the Republicans fall in line. To hear Newt groveling on Hannity’s radio show was a new low for a guy who sets the gold standard in low. And this the day after the same Irish Wuss chewed out Perry for calling Romney a vulture. What a wet diaper crowd you conservatives are, caving to the right wing media establishment – telling you how to think, who to vote for, when to complain about what and when to stop. Lock step! Romney: Who funds him? 10 percent from small individual contributions, the rest from Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse Group, Morgan Stanley, HIG Capital, Barclays, Kirkland & Ellis, Bank of America, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, EMC Corp, JPMorgan Chase. You guys know what these companies are, right? Let’s look at Credit Suiise Group. “In 2009, Credit Suisse settled on charges that it violated sanctions regulating financial transactions with IRAN!! The charges included “stripping”, the practice of removing the identity and origin of funds used in transactions. Credit Suisse employees stripped the identities of Iranian banks enabling funds to be transferred to the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran and the Aerospace Industries Organization, entities respectively involved in the production of nuclear weapons and long range missiles!!” Wow, I would love to have them filling my pockets, wouldn’t you? PricewaterhouseCoopers is a global professional services firm headquartered in London, United Kingdom. Love those Brits, want to be a puppet of those guys. Don’t you see the picture here? Posted on January 11, 2012 at 8:53pmNewt shouldn’t be doing this. Businesses owe no loyalty to their employees. Employees (labor) are merely another element of the manufacturing process. If a business can get cheaper labor in China, then they get it there, and that’s what they owe their shareholders. Ask Apple about that. Steve Jobs (some people’s business hero) had no trouble having his products made by slave labor in China.
That’s why we need to get rid of all unions. Because they artificially inflate American labor costs. There aren’t any unions in China.

The Newt is a closet Socialist. An integral part of free-market capitalism IS creative destruction. When land, labor and capital are misappropriated, it is essential that unprofitable companies MUST either restructured or shutdown, not subsidized or taken over by the government as is done in Socialist countries like America (see GM). The Newt really doesn’t understand how capitalism works. He’s a closet socialist that seriously believes governments can create private-sector jobs. Well, The Newt, you’re wrong, they can’t. The ONLY thing governments can do is to create favorable business environments where companies can thrive by: maintaining a strong currency (failed-the US$ is falling like a stone), minimal regulations (fail- regulation compliance cost businesses $1.7 TRILLION per year), low corporate taxes (fail- the US has the second highest corporate tax rate in the world), fair legal system (fail- 2% of GDP is spent on litigation/yr ($300 BILLION), economically viable environmental standards (fail- insane air quality standards cost $100′s of billions more than they should with minimal air quality improvement (especially CO2 limits), cheap energy (fail- EPA regs stifle energy development), etc.

Imagine how many would have been out of work if they never made it!

I don’t think the film is very fair in explaining why the plants had to be closed or the details behind the business negotiations. It only shows 4 examples of plants that failed. It doesn’t show any examples of the successes Mr. Romney had. It plays mostly to peoples emotions rather than try to expose facts. It makes a lot of inferences and quotes a lot form reporters as if the reporters are always speaking the truth. You can make anything or anybody look bad by only showing a few negative points, ignoring any of the positives and showing people crying and shaking with eerie music playing and lots of black and white pictures. Anyone who ever took a business class in college or an accounting class or is interested in investing (whether you are rich or poor) will see right through this film. It is propaganda not facts. If anything, this film only helped me to see that if Mr. Romney could produce those kinds of results and profits for investors and streamline businesses (that was his job and what he promised to provide to those who invested in Bain) then imagine what he will do when his job and promise to those who elect him will be to streamline the government and improve the economy. I don’t think people are stupid. People will see through this. It will only have the opposite of the intended effect.

Mitt Romney made an oath in the Temple to avenge the US government’s treatment of Joseph Smith. The plan hatched by the LDS Church is to get people elected to public office, ruin the economy, and destroy people’s faith in the Constitution. After this happens and the country is on the brink of failure, Jesus will return (to Missouri???) to take over and rule the world. The LDS puts in just enough real Christianity to sound OK to the gullible. They also believe that when they “return” to Heaven they will have multiple wives and they will have millions of “spirit children” who will wait for their chance to populate a planet. Romney will be the “god ” of his planet and the “spirit children” will worship him. The mormons believe that they were “God the Father’s” spirit children and when they die they will not go to Heaven, they will “return” to Heaven. They believe that anything the leader says in the Temple is absolute truth and is

Posted on January 11, 2012 at 10:07pmObviously the average person is lacking the education they need about business. There comes a point when a business is at a cross road that would be to go out of business or sell off because they no longer have the means to stay in business. Most businesses at that point have exhausted all their sources to continue borrowing money. The sad thing is most of these companies borrow themselves farther into debt for the sake of keeping people employed. But there comes the day of recogning that something has to change when they can not longer get loans. Companies like Bain and others come in and try to rebuild the companies or if it is not financially feasible they have to close the business. Sure people do lose their jobs sometimes, but they were going to lose it anyway even if they weren’t getting bought out by a venture corporation. For the companies that are saved, they usually do well after repairing the problems within the business.
Its the evolution of business, like our own households, if you have too much debt, you sell the house and file for bankruptcy. Who gets hurt when you do that? Your family! What now? You start over and start building your life again. History keeps going, we all can rebuild our lives.
Or………..you can stand in line at the goverment office for your hand out…..and live in the government housing with only what the government wants you to have when they want you to have it.

You said: “Mitt Romney made an oath in the Temple to avenge the US government’s treatment of Joseph Smith.”
The Oath of Vengeance was discontinued over 20 years before Romney was even born (See (Buerger 2002, pp. 139–40). I guess that settles that, and exposes you as the liar that you are.
Besides, the oath only obligated those who took it upon themselves to only “pray” unceasingly that God would exact vengeance for Joseph Smith’s murder, and not that anyone was obligated to carry out vengeance themselves (see Buerger 1987, p. 54). Mormons believe that vengeance belongs to God, as taught in all of our scriptures from the Old Testament to the Doctrine and Covenants (see http://classic.scriptures.lds.org/en/search?search=vengeance+is+mine&do=Search&anonymous_element_1_changed=search).
Sorry, you have no credibility since you are willing to outright lie in support of your bigotry.

Has it ever occurred to anyone that these guys are more concerned about their ratings and the big bucks they earn as they feed the rabid disgust(which is justified) for Obama to their viewers? These guys like everyone should be trying to unite the party for a win verses divide the party which will ensure an Obama victory.
The biggest threat to this country is our growing national debt and this is what those radio gas bags should be talking about.

That sounds similar to the concept of…..
“We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.”
How do you know he (next president) won’t be worse, especially when he (Romney, et all ) are not saying anything distinctly dissimilar to Obama?
One man has made the promises that will actually reverse Obama and company’s mess. He is also the one man that actually would trust to follow through in his promise.

Sorry I will not not fall for your rhetoric. If I would give my life for liberty, why not my vote? IF Obama gets handed the office back to him, I will not see myself as responsible for that. It is the responsibility of every individual to vote for what they believe is right. I can’t help that most of the population are sheep, and can be easily herded to a decision by their Sheppard R-D-MSM. How many of those votes (if there is a 3rd party candidate) for the republican nominee (and even Obama) are votes out of fear, and not what they truly believe in?? ….This is how we end up with leaders that represent party power first, and the people last.

Romney fought for only one mandate, ‘Pay for insurance or pay your own bill.‘ You probably don’t know that Romney and Heritage put in an opt-out also, by why report that. RomneyCare was completely Constitutional under their Constitution, written by John Adams. ObamaCare is not.

Posted on January 11, 2012 at 6:28pmOnly the facts, ma’am….
All you gotta’ do is to look at Massachusetts own self-generated data:
————————————————————-
“Massachusetts took off on this entitlement trajectory after Mr. Romney signed the bill in 2006 and stepped down to run for President two years later. Let’s go to the data, all of which are state-reported, in search of evidence of Mr. Romney’s “success.”
The only good news we can find is that the uninsured rate has dropped to 2% today from 6% in 2006. Yet four out of five of the newly insured receive low- or no-cost coverage from the government. The subsidies will cost at least $830 million in 2011 and are growing, conservatively measured, at 5.1% a year. Total state health-care spending as a share of the budget has grown from about 16% in the 1980s to 30% in 2006 to 40% today. The national state average is about 25%.”

Yeah I get it…..At best we stop the window, get used to the new norm, and then anything resembling liberty becomes even more “looney” than it is now. I’m not down with that at all….more of the same is not good enough…..I don’t want to let my guard down, because there is “FINALLY a republican in office!!!! It pains me to speak this way about the republican party which I have defended so much…And I do regret it, but not in the sense that I will choose another party….Frankly they both stink, and looking back at some of the things i have defended I can see where I was wrong…..Not that the other side was right…because they were doing nothing more than mindlessly spewing their parties views also….but I was wrong….I can admit my mistakes…..

Is he an expert at business or is he a heartless vulture wall street sycophant? Is he a capitalist or a big government liberal. Everyone is so desperate for a label that will paint him negative, they don’t care where they find it, on the right or the left. Here is the label: He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Otherwise known as the Mormon Church (a misnomer at best, an epithet at worst.)
So, now after 200 plus years, we let it boil down to one reason to say no to exactly what we here on the right have been clamoring for since the beginning. Someone who knows what to do when an entity is in trouble with hardly an equal in the business world. We should be jumping for joy, right? Oh wait, he is “Mormon.“ A ”Cultist” who believes that the United States is the promised land. That Jesus is the living Christ. That the greatest aspiration and success one can achieve will occur in the walls of his own home, that the poor and needy need opportunities and a lending hand up not a hand out, that honesty is the best policy, that fidelity in marriage is a mark of a true disciple of Christ, that we as a nation must stand by our friends, including Israel, that hard work and ingenuity is to be rewarded not condemned. That’s right Gingrich is a hypocrite. He said that he would stop the attacks on Bain Capital and then hours later released this video. If you say he had no control. Why not use his argument and say he could have made a statement that the SuperPAC should stop it, isn’t that what he told Romney.

Ya know, Mitt gets hit as a flip flopper a lot, but the more I listen to him and look back, I don’t see it. I think he has been pretty solid when compared to others. The only thing I really saw was his running for office in Mass, he was very careful in what he would say, saying things like he would not change their laws, etc.
But what did he actually DO in a democratic state full of libs? He cut taxes, veto’d the crap out of bills, tried to fix the medical issues (got worse after he left, the problem with anything the gov is involved).
I think if you scrutinized any public figure you will find stuff that they say that seems to contradict, the more your in public, the more you talk to people the more that becomes apparent. I really do think the guy is honest, I just think his trying to appeal to different folks gets him in trouble (as it does anyone running for office or selling things LOL).
But for Character, personal and professional, hard to argue, not going to find any gotchas in his closet.
