‘Any Population That Follows God Wins’: Beck Addresses ‘One Nation Under God’

On the second evening of Restoring Love, Glenn Beck made a special appearance at HighPoint Church in Arlington, TX, to speak before an audience of – at the “One Nation Under God” event, where religious leaders from around the country gathered to spread a message of charity, freedom and love.

By estimation, there were at least 6,000 people in attendance, all of whom gave Beck a standing ovation as soon as he stepped out onto the stage.

Beck opened the evening with humor and good spirit before praising the pastors and other religious leaders with whom he was sharing the stage. He announced that they are the “greatest collection of men that I know,” likening each to the men at the forefront of the American Revolution.

He said that history repeats itself and that those who can “wield the sword of righteousness“ will make the leaders of the world ”pee their pants.”

“Any population that follows God wins!” Beck exclaimed to a deafening round of applause.

Beck also took a moment to praise Restoring Love’s “day of service,” in which over 30,000 concerned Americans participated.

“Never before has there been a tragedy where 30,000 volunteered to serve,” Beck observed. But they did at Restoring Love.

In terms of his own road to faith, Beck took a moment to talk about his personal tragedies which led him to God.

“I am proud to say that with atonement I have conquered it [tragedy and alcoholism] in my own life — because of the saving power of Jesus Christ anything can be done.”

“The Lord is coming and he is our father in Heaven.”

Beck cautioned that anyone who is left “pointing the finger at someone else  ”is in trouble first with the Lord.”

“Our country is disease ridden because we haven’t been following his [God's] teachings. We haven’t been doing the tough things.”

He urged other faith leaders to follow the example of the men pastors, priests and others who sat on the stage before him.

God “will protect you and he will guide you. He is not neutral in the freedom of mankind.”

      Religion is like communism. No matter how many times we see it lead to disaster, the people who believe in it will always claim that it failed because it wasn’t the real thing, and that if we would only follow those whose belief is true and pure, everything would work out just swell.

      Jim Jones established a church, not unlike the modern Democratic Party. This church espoused the Rainbow Family, and while the congregation was highly observant in their belief of Human Bio-Diversity Denialism, things didn’t end up too good for them.

      Religion in hardwired into man, and can get us into trouble. In my opinion, Paganism is probably the safest religion. It is kind of like Gaiasm, but recognizes that batteries are not going to get any better.

      Libsalwayslie: Actually MrMike makes a valid point. There have been plenty of nations that were decidedly Christian that have risen and fallen. Calling someone a leftist because they have seen the rise and fall of Christian or religious nations does nothing to help you. You have created no argument for your stance in religion and have instead resorted to labeling people leftists for making valid points.

      Chet: It is common that we hear “They’re not a true Christian“ or ”They did it wrong” then why has nobody ever done it right? Is it that hard to do it right what is doing religion or Christianity the right way?

      I am shocked that we still have Americans who don’t believe is our Creator. Facts are facts and history is history every nation on this planet since the beginning of man who honored God was blessed and every nation who didn’t their country sucks,100% of the time. Even as we speak Israel and America are the greatest nations on our earth. The countries that worship Allah for example are the absolutely worse. I know God I don’t care about religion.

      It’s so sad that many of the comments here are so hateful. Some here see nothing good in anything so having said that, my husband and I watched the Indivisible part of Restoring Love and it was truly a very uplifting event. The speakers were ALL terrific in their message to a wounded nation. They also added humor to a situation that is pretty diar. God bless you Glenn for all that you do.

      Mr. Mike and Ashes: why do you have to be so bigoted? “Mormons” don’t believe that they have the only source to God. They believe in that same Jesus that you do. I, for one, have been outside and inside the Mormon church. I have studied many religions carefully. Yes Mormons do teach goodness for all..Their founder Joseph Smith was a Freemason as were the first five prophets and leaders of the Mormon Church..They believe in 3 heavens..for which the highest..only Mormons will go..the rest will reside in the lower heavens and have to remain oh my gosh..single for eternity..THe Mormons have bought up massive amounts of food productions such as farms and orchards under subsidiaries or Corporations..they have amassed many power companies and news media..most likely this one included..They have planned to become head of the NWO for sometime..and will rule by giving or withholding food..I can’t think of a kinder way to rule..can you? To make the whole world be good..and they will become gods..by doing good..sounds like a good plan to me. I also understand that they have a temple in DC with a replica of the oval office in a counsel room..didn’t someone else just do that? They say it is set up complete with oratory and everything and it is so powerfu that airliners have to avoid it to keep intruments from being thrown off. Too cool..

      Depends on what you consider to be the looser.

      The odds of “winning” are much worse for those who do not live up to the teachings of their faith, honor, morals, values and RESPECT for the rights of others to live in freedom as long as those people do not impose on others.

      Sadly, it is now VERY difficult to fit a liberal’s (demoncrat, progressive, socialist, marxist, communist) ideology/theology into the above list of requirements for winners.

      The problem is that the liberals in the community come along and corrupt the system and the people who are just weak enough to believe them. Our country was litterly the best out there till corruption set in. Reminds me of the Chicken who made bread: She wanted some bread so she grew some wheat and asked others to help. but no one would. She asked for help to harvest but no one would, so she did it. She asked for help in turning it into flower and making of the bread but no one would. when her children and her were about to eat the bread the government showed up on behalf of those who did nothing and demanded half of all of it and told her she couldn’t of done it without the help of there services. I added the last part.. LOL for effect

      Ashes, there is no Mormon God. There is only the God of all mankind, and the LDS church teaches that no one but Christ will judge. Joseph Smith will have no such role or authority during the millenium for even he will be judged. The church does not teach any such thing about billions of planets, nor do we believe or teach that God will have endless sex with His wives, and the so-called white horse prophecy is not now – nor ever was taught in the Mormon church, it is simply not a Mormon belief. In fact everything you claim about Mormon beliefs is dead wrong. You are completely ignorant of Mormonism. You do not understand LDS beliefs so you explain them as you interpret them.
      There is no doubt in my mind, that had you lived two-thousand years ago, you would have spread the same lies about Jesus Christ that were so prevalent at the time. That He was a fraud, an imposter. And as far as the outpouring of the spirit on the day of the Pentecost, you would have assured others that it was no gift, the people were merely drunken with new wine.     It really does feel more and more as if authentic holy books & prophets have been re-telling a story of what’s already occured here on Earth. Good old-fashioned time travelers. Our story could even be on a re-play cycle, but in each re-play we’re given a little more guidance until we finally make the right decisions.

    Seen from an Obama watch tower, we the people are meat & bones, personally selected for one statistic or another, and reminded more about our weaknesses than strengths. But seen from God‘s or Spirit’s watch tower, we are souls & lights that yearn to purify.

    It just feels more and more as if theories about the end of days, armaggedon, or the coming of Christ may have something to do with time travelers returning soon to see if we found their clues and chose to work in their favor. Like the little chimp flying thru space & touching down in Planet of the Apes, and all the monkey soldiers bowed on their knees saying, he returned as promised.

    For some reason it’s easier to imagine each day as a story already written, and once you become aware of that, it’s easier to see the big picture. As if a wave of universal information, or an encoded beam of solar radiation, has been absorbed by my DNA, becoming a part of me. Maybe God is half-sun.

    If this is universal as I suspect, it may have influenced this sudden “super hero” insanity lately. You feel more mechanical or somehow ultra-human and the emphasis is on ACTION.

      Hi GONZO.
      I appreciate that you want to defend a person’s right to enjoy … whatever it is they enjoy. Truly. And I used to be inclined to think, ‘Sure this religious mumbo-jumbo ain’t for me, but if others get some joy (or comfort, or whatever) out of it … fill yer boots!’. These days however I’ve moved to the view that it religion is now just plain dangerous.
      For a long time I considered religious beliefs to be merely silly, infantile, or stupid. But now I think that kind of thoughtless, blind adherence to a ‘higher power’ is, increasingly, incredibly dangerous. As a consequence, I believe we need to be done with it like other outdated ways of thinking – flat earth, etc. And really, I see no difference.
      People who want to make political choices, social or foreign policy decisions based in whole or in part on religious mythology? We’ve got to grow the hell up. There’s no value in turning a blind eye to such dangerous, delusional thinking. There’s no value or benefit in excusing (or warmly praising) people of ‘faith’. It is an absurdity that has gone unquestioned for too long.

      ANYONE who believes that scripture right there will go to Heaven! And ANYONE who believes that scripture will also not be here when “the beast” is ruling the corrupt world. We will all be raptured up into Heaven beforehand, and that day will come! We are already seeing the signs the bible talks about near the end times.

      That being said….we also have a duty to uphold everything that is honorable to God while we are still on this Earth. You cannot simply just walk away from that repsonsibility….you fight against the wrong and you stand up for the weak until God calls us all home.

      Glenn is a Christian he does not yet understand Mormonism. Heck we even have Catholics, Baptist, Methodist, eg who are Christians. Love the Lord thy God with all your heart and love your neighbor as you love yourself and yes Glenn does that. Higher up in LDS is ungodly but Glenn doesn’t know much about church cause he is busy serving God. We all know Romney isn’t very good but do you have a real Conservative that is running? Obama is anti-good. I will take Romney any day over Obama.

      Look at how the love of many has gone cold in just this comments section. I’ve done it myself. This world is noticeably meaner and violent.

      God’s word will not return unto Him void.

      It’s ok that Jesus is returning soon. His plans for us are indescribably better than our plans. That doesn’t mean we just hunker down and wait for Him. Our first duty is to share the gospel, the way to salvation.

      I pray that God shows Glenn the truth of who Jesus is, Amen.

    They have removed all religious symbols from our schools and public (government) spaces; it is time to take back control. I would like to propose that we ban together to secure parcels of land in the center of each city where we can express our beliefs. Not a church, but a “Freedom Park”. This will give us a place to speak and praise God openly, display the 10 commandments or religious holiday decorations, and read the Bible aloud and all without government intervention. We need to bring God back into our lives. What are your thoughts?

      Unfortunately this sounds too much like the “Free Speech Zones” on many Campii today. Alas! I read many stories of people being in much trouble because they exercised their free speech rights outside these zones!
