NEW YORK (AP) — A person familiar with a probe at the New York Police Department tells The Associated Press several high-ranking city government officials are among those who’ve had their traffic tickets fixed.
The person didn’t name the officials Thursday or say how many were involved. The person also confirms a report a New York Yankees executive had a ticket fixed.
The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the case is the subject of a secret grand jury probe.
Law enforcement officials say up to 40 police officers are being eyed for possible misconduct and criminal charges in the Bronx and scores more could be disciplined administratively. The criminal cases could be brought by July.
Union officials say undoing paperwork on traffic citations before they reach court as a favor isn’t criminal.

Posted on April 22, 2011 at 3:53pmHello? NYPD was created by Tammany Hall. Corruption and enforcement of corrupt “Progressive” domination is the purpose of their existence. Nobody with half a brain thinks they were ever supposed to protect anyone of us regular people. Thats just nuts.

Posted on April 22, 2011 at 10:52amThis just shows how corrupt our system is. Almost as bad as Charlie Sheen getting a police escort in Washington DC to get him to his show on time, doing 80 miles an hour. Nothing surprises me anymore.

Posted on April 22, 2011 at 10:10amYears ago, in Chicago, I was driving in an area where I was unfamiliar at 11:30 A.M. and came upon the street where my destination was located and turned left with the light . I was looking for the address of the destination when I saw a flashing blue light , the dreaded police. I pulled over and asked the policeman what was wrong, he said you turned left on a no-turn street.
Report Post »I asked where the sign or light was located that told me this was a no-turn street, he said on that post, as he pointed. I took the ticket and went back to my job. Someone with whom I worked lived in the city and when I told him my story he laughed “he was looking for lunch money”. Bribing police is not new it is simply wrong and I was to naive to do anything but pay the fine. Live and learn.

Posted on April 22, 2011 at 8:29amtoo bad we don’t have names of those who got theirs fixed.. could they be conservative pols? wondering
not that it makes a difference but if they are it exposes more partisan power politics.. I hope they are from both parties but given the thugs in charge of the ‘injustice dept’ I would be suspicious they might belong to a class of people the WH wants to screw.. like… white males.. Christians.. Jews.. conservsatives.. etc
ps
Report Post »maybe the AP should be reporting on the corruption in DC.. just sayin’

Posted on April 22, 2011 at 7:27amO.K., I am not defending the cops here, but why is it that THEY are the ones being looked at. If your bosses boss shows up at your work and asks you to do something that really isn’t right, but it is done all the time, what would you do? What really bothers me is that people who were involved in writing the laws in the first place break it, then ask to be excluded from the fine when they don’t follow the law that they helped create. This kind of reminds me Obamacare, you know, excluding people from the law that were a force in getting it passed in the first place.

Posted on April 22, 2011 at 6:41amArticle says “U.S. could lose its AAA rating by 2013 if budget deal isn’t reached!” Hey, guys, we have ALREADY LOST OUR AAA RATING! It just hasn’t been commemorated in writing, yet! It’s going to be a bit of an effort to get it back! Let’s start by posiitioning our Corporate income tax to the lowest 10% in the World! Let’s get our spending in line with revenue collections. Let’s get our work-ethic back! Let’s reward achievement, rather than wished for self esteem! etc., etc.

Posted on April 22, 2011 at 2:55amThis is business as usual, we had the dingbat state legislator member here in Az a few weeks ago who claimed, or tried to claim, legislative immunity in a incident between him and his girlfriend. At the least, the states Republican party did take action against him relatively quick.
Yet still, nothing new.

Posted on April 22, 2011 at 4:44amWe are being taken over by a group of people that have the end of America as we know it in mind.
We are under attack from within.
I personally do not give a damn what Lady Gaga had to say today
I personally do not give a damn what Justin Bieber had for lunch.
I do not care about stuff that DIVIDES this country – like calling one side or the other different or special
What I do care about is what the HELL are we doing about a FEDERAL RESERVE robbing me blind by devaluing my savings by creating inflation designed to weaken the economy so that we have to depend on the Government for our every need.
Get some stories that BUILD our base through COMMON ACTION and COMMON IDEAS.
USE the power that you have for GOOD and stop waving distractions that weaken our focus.
- I’m just saying.

And every cop who is involved should be fired and lose their pensions. And the politician envolved should be brought up on criminal charges for abuse of power and failure to up hold the oath they took upon going into office. They should be require to repay every dollars paid to them for their service as a politician.
