Sources Say Donald Trump to Endorse Newt Gingrich

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Real estate mogul and reality show star Donald Trump intends to endorse Newt Gingrich’s GOP presidential bid, according to a source close to Gingrich’s campaign.

Trump is set to announce his support Thursday in Las Vegas, where Gingrich is campaigning in advance of Nevada’s Republican caucuses on Saturday.

Trump’s backing would bring the former House speaker a blitz of media attention heading into the contest and following his defeat in Florida.

Trump announced Wednesday that he was to make news in the presidential race but did not say what it was.

Asked about the possible endorsement Wednesday in Reno, Nev., Gingrich said he had “no idea what the Donald is going to do.”

“He is always interesting,” Gingrich said of Trump. “And I don’t know of anybody who does a better job of getting attention by announcing that he will presently announce something.”

Gingrich sought Trump‘s endorsement at a meeting in December at the real estate mogul’s Trump Tower office in Manhattan. There, Gingrich told reporters he had persuaded Trump to mentor promising children from some of New York’s poorest schools.

The former House speaker had come under fire for suggesting poor children should do janitorial chores in their schools to learn the value of work.

Gingrich also agreed to appear in a Republican debate Trump was to host in Iowa in December. But other candidates, including frontrunner Mitt Romney, turned down the debate, forcing Trump to cancel.

Trump Comb Over

Trump had flirted with the idea of jumping in the presidential race as a third-party candidate but ultimately decided not to.

Appearing on CBS’ “Face The Nation” on Sunday, Trump praised Gingrich.

“He’s got great ideas. He’s very smart, he’s very tough and he is a great debater,” he said.

Gingrich was pounded by Romney in Florida in Tuesday’s Republican primary. Romney is considered a heavy favorite in Nevada, a state he won when he sought the GOP nomination in 2008.?

The source was not authorized to speak for the campaign and spoke on condition of anonymity. The endorsement was first reported by KLAS-TV in Las Vegas.

The biggest problem Ron Paul has is that cult following that developed behind him. People all over simply got sick of them spamming every forum on the internet and trying to take over radio talk shows.

Paul should have denounced them a LONG time ago but his over-inflated ego wouldn’t allow him to do that.

You must be late to the campaign. Religious Bigotry is not allowed, nor will it be tolerated. Mitt’s success in his personal life and his career are all you need to know about him. His belief system helped him to achieve that. Newt, on the other hand is criminal and morally repugnant and his belief system didn’t help him one bit. So, knock it off with the religion bashing. Tell your pastor I said the same thing.

Newt turned this country around in 1994. He almost saved our country until he was kicked out as speaker by the special interests and the crooks in Congress. He gave us four balanced budgets. President Bush Jr. then proceeded to loot and ruin this nation for ever. A job vastly enlarged by Obama. Newt is a thinker and a doer, adn he can solve our problems. Trump is a practical guy who knows that it is the unfair trade practices that have led to our massive eunemployment and underemployment.

If we follow Problemsolver’s posts on our 1913 and 1933 bankruptcies, and the UN/IMF/Fed owns all of us and our land – NONE of US has ANY rights. Even if this beautiful country is not ‘technically ours’ what gives the Tea Party, OWS or us, ANY rights whatsoever? So we all lose every argument right off the bat.
It will be just a matter of time before TRUE RED BLOODED AMERICANS decide to stand up to what has been perpetrated upon us, without our knowledge. It will be carnage times ten, so all of this infighting won’t make much difference will it, when America is totally destroyed.
It makes me sick to my stomach to see us all fight here on the Blaze, or anywhere, don’t ya’ll get it yet, the elite want us to eat each other, then they have total control…this is amazing to watch.
From other posts, I think the idea of educating America would be the best thing that could happen. How do we do it? We do it with love, understanding, intelligence, and strength in numbers.
WE THE PEOPLE can turn this ship around, and we don‘t need this so called ’father figure’ in the WH to do it. Let’s come up with a plan to re-educate these lost souls out there, to re-educate ourselves to what our forefathers paid so dearly to give us.

I want to thank each and every one of you for being you, whether you are left, center or right, for you see we are ALL AMERICANS in the end. I just wish everyone could embrace the freedoms and rights we have, or ‘technically don’t have’, and come together to FIX the free market system, to obliterate the Oligarchy, and restore true Capitalism and the entrepreneurial spirit that once thrived here, we’d ALL be BETTER OFF, and we would have JOBS! Is that not the source of our worries – JOBS! If there were jobs out there, and people still were freeloading, then they would be banished to an island in the Pacific for all I care. This collectivism is KILLING AMERICA…WE must STOP it now!

It has been apparent for over a year that Mitt Romney has been chosen to be the next Republican nominee for president. He is next in line and has the track record and inclination to slow down but not reverse the downward spiral in which the nation finds itself; but above all to fall in line with what is expected of a Republican insider. Perhaps coincidentally, he has spent many millions of dollars hiring consultants and beltway pros, and has the fundraising capacity and personal wealth to keep on employing them. Thus he is the ideal candidate of the Establishment.
