Ready for the your juicy Apple product rumor mill update of the week? (Related: New Apple iPad 3 rumors emerge: March 7 set as specific date) First off, here are some newly leaked photos from a couple Chinese sites (via Digital Trends):

The camera on iPad 3 is rumored to be 8-megapixels. The inset photo compares the shells of previous iPads with the supposed third. (Photo via Digital Trends)

iPad 3 is also expected to have a faster dual core AX5 processor. (Photo via Digital Trends)

Is this blurry image the iPads new display? (Photo via Digital Trends)
And here’s a review of what we “know” so far about the expected iPad 3:
- Release date speculated for March 7 — or at least during the first week of March
- Expected to run on Verizon and AT&T’s 4G LTE network
- Double resolution “true retina” display around 2048×1536″
- Supposedly larger camera and battery and therefore slightly thicker
- More powerful graphics processing unit
With iPad 3s expected to hit shelves rather soon, some are advising that now is the time to sell your iPad 2 if you’ll be looking to upgrade. Mashable writes that even though Apple hasn’t even confirmed the existence of the iPad 3 yet, those who sold their iPads before the release of iPad 2 made more money. For example, according to Mashable, iPad sales right after last year’s announcement fetched about $550, but only a few hours later prices dwindled to around $300. And iPad 3 rumors aren’t the only ones swirling. SlashGear reports that the Chinese site Macotakara is speculating we could seek the highly anticipated iPhone 5 — the same that some where hoping for last fall– this September or October. SlashGear notes that another site received a tip with a similar timeframe, leading them to wonder if this is a “well-orchestrated ruse to point away from the truth”. Only time will tell. For now, we’ll keep you posted on iPad 3 rumors and will try not to hold our breath as we wait for March 7 to roll around.

Posted on February 22, 2012 at 10:16amApple is the the greatest marketing engine in the history of capitalism. How they can convince people to make yearly $500-600 upgrades for their iCrap is truly astonishing. Last years model only has a camera with 4 megapixels? No sweat we’ll drop in 2 more next year and the herd will scoop it up.

Posted on February 23, 2012 at 1:34pmno one should be buying a new one every year, every other year is a little more worth the upgrade value

Posted on February 22, 2012 at 9:14amHey guys!
The “MADE IN CHINA” thing has been created by a dysfunctional U.S. government that has allowed Unions and anti-business legislation to run the Country! Get used to it as the OBAMA administration criminals are taking it even further!
I quit buying G.M. cars with the OBAMA takeover and have started buying FORD or foreign!
Report Post »woodydad
Posted on February 22, 2012 at 5:15pmYes, I agree. G.M. is a wholly owned fascist subsidiary of the U.S. and Canadian governments. As long as they are on the field it isn’t a fair game. The only reason to buy a G.M. product is because you want to do whatever you can to help destroy the free market system.

Posted on February 22, 2012 at 8:59amI always wanted a Mac because everybody says they’re the best. But I always fell for all the old, lame excuses/reasons for not buying one. Then about 3 years ago after my third massive Windows disappointment I bought the biggest I-Mac available at the time, (I believe it was the first to come with garage band, but I wont swear to it); I took off and I’ve never looked back. If you‘re looking for a desktop computer you’re looking for a Mac, period.

Posted on February 22, 2012 at 5:52amI’ve owned Microsoft systems beginning back in the DOS days. Microsoft operating systems have become so unreliable and convoluted they’re nothing but aggravation.
Report Post »I purchased my first Apple product last November (IPad2) and was so impressed with it I bought stock in the company. My current laptop will be my last Microsoft product.
I figure all those Microsoft liberals in Seattle are sitting half the day with their feet up on their desks flying paper airplanes and shooting rubber bands at each other.

Posted on February 22, 2012 at 12:05amAs an artist the high-resolution screen is going to be amazing. I’m an exclusively digital artist, and I love ‘painting with light’ – the iPad w/ Retina Display is going to allow me to display my art like never before!
Maybe it will help me get a job – I can put my entire portfolio on it and bring it to interviews.

Posted on February 22, 2012 at 6:33amThe resolution is actually QUADRUPLED in terms of pixels. It is doubled in each direction, horizontally, and vertically. oops! flipped the iPad, make that vertically and horizontally. or is it… LOL
I’ve put off buying an iPad, knowing this one was on its way, so I’ve kept abreast of all the rumors and updates of rumors…
Best intel I can gather includes 4G LTE, retina display, tapered edges but slightly thicker overall, longer battery life, 8mp camera.
But, the camera has nothing to do with the thickness. It is only the size of a pencil eraser.
Heer is the BIG difference in TheBlaze’s intel and mine… I’ve been seeing iBoot images that reveal what appears to be O/S support for a QUAD-core processor, not just a faster dual-core.
(This is just my research and gut instinct, but, I spent over a decade as an I.T. executive, much of it in Silicon Valley with names you would certainly know.)

Posted on February 21, 2012 at 9:39pmWow – clever business technique. Taking blurry photos of their future product? That’s quite brilliant, Apple!
Now they can make people with low intelligence get excited about their faked new product. Good idea.
Keep that going, guys, as long as you leave me alone. I’m not falling for it, plainly because I’m not stupid.

Posted on February 21, 2012 at 10:03pm“… from a couple Chinese sites…”
And you just go blundering in saying Apple is trying to con you, assuming it was them that THEY would post those photos? “YEEAAAAHHH!!! Apple DUMB Apple Stuuuupidd hahahaha NO TRICKY ME! Apple cheat! HAHA I is SMARTHSSS!” Okay, that’s not (necessarily) you, but, you know… ;D

Posted on February 21, 2012 at 7:14pmOne thing to correct: The release date will not be March 7, that is the announcement date. The release date will probably be March 16.

Posted on February 21, 2012 at 6:50pmFinally, I’ve been waiting for the next release. Just make sure when these products are made in China, again, that the blasted buttons don’t fall off this time. Manufacture these in the U.S. already.
Report Post »Poggle The Stick
Posted on February 21, 2012 at 9:43pmApple would be stupid to make stuff in the US. The government makes it too expensive and overall too difficult to mass-produce things in the country. At this point, if you can move your factories to China, go right ahead. Not like I want this to continue, however right now it’s the clever thing to do.
Besides, there aren’t a lot of buttons on the iPad anyway. If they’re going to be making a new iPad here, they should put more plugs and features on it besides power, volume, and the weird-looking home button.

Posted on February 21, 2012 at 6:13pmJust the other day I went to purchase a toothbrush. I looked for a “Made in China” label in the back, then proceeded to put the product right back on the shelf. I decided to go with the toothbrush that was “Made in Germany”. I do not buy anything with “Made in China” label no matter how useless it is. Sorry Apple.

Posted on February 21, 2012 at 4:56pmThe one thing you have to do with Apple: wait until it actually happens.
This company absolutely loves the hype around itself and I think they actually deliberately spark rumors to keep the Apple faithful buzzing.
How many times have iPhone 5 rumors circulated?
Ummm… yeah. My point.
Report Post »mikee99
Posted on February 21, 2012 at 7:18pmI agree with you about the Iphone 5, but that was a different situation than this. The Ipad 3 will be announced the beginning of March, probably the 7th and released soon after. This one is a certainty.
