Appropriate? Romney Bus Reportedly Drove Circles Around Obama Supporters While Honking Before Today’s Speech

While the 2012 presidential candidates are busy promoting their competing economic visions for the country, their fans are engaged in more juvenile forms of competition.

Witnesses on the scene of Obama‘s speech in Ohio today report that Mitt Romney’s campaign bus– emblazoned with the official logo– drove circles around the president’s supporters while honking the horn and taunting the crowd.

The president’s fans reportedly returned the honks with jeers and boos.

CBS News’ Sarah Boxer and Mark Knoller corroborated the story, Knoller tweeting: “Romney Campaign bus– emblazoned with Romney Campaign logo– is driving around Pres Obama’s speech site honking its horn.”

BuzzFeed’s Zeke Miller also confirmed the shenanigans, writing an article about the matter.

While the president’s supporters are endeavoring to maintain the higher ground, saying, “More juvenile tactics from Romney,“ and ”If campaigns are a reflection of their candidates, what do the Romney campaign’s antics say about [Mitt Romney]?” the most vociferous of Romney supporters seem to welcome the move.

Nearly 200 commenters have weighed in on the conservative site Weasel Zippers, explaining:

-That is rude, low class and obnoxious…And EXACTLY what the Obama campaign and especially their unhinged Occupy-style minions would do if given the opportunity…I absolutely condemn and deplore such activity.  Or at least I will when I stop laughing.

-Ha! Ok, I’m starting to like all these little jabs from Romney.

-It’s a good thing the Obama campaign doesn’t have a mascot, because if they did you can be damn sure Mitt Romney campaign would steal it.

-I’m beginning to think they are actually willing to take the gloves off in this election.

-Nobody is reporting how the president is throwing the American people under his campaign buses.

Romney Bus Reportedly Drives Circles Around Obama Supporters While Honking Before Ohio Speech

However, there are a number of Republicans who believe the prank demeans the office of the presidency:

-We currently have a president with zero class. Is this who we’re going to get to replace him?  Be a bigger man next time.

-I support Mitt fully but do not like this behavior. It is unnecessary and counter-productive.

-What a dumb stunt. Mitt should fire whoever dreamt this up.

As for the Romney campaign, at least one aide is not retreating.

Rick Gorka, a traveling press secretary for Mitt Romney, responded to Zeke Miller’s tweets: “Maybe Anna Wintour will design a scarf to muffle the sound,” mocking Obama’s campaign fundraiser with the editor-in-chief of Vogue.

So what do you think?  Does it make Mitt Romney seem less presidential to have his campaign bus taunting Obama supporters, or is it a harmless prank that ultimately galvanizes many who were previously un-inspired by the Republican nominee?

He will not get the Dem vote at all, he will not get the youth vote at all, he will not get the Paul supporter vote at all http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXhY1j3ZAMs&feature=youtu.be We are spreading this to all Paul supporters and we are getting a great response. You guys think you have enough in the Republican Party to win this election by yourselves based on Republican polls? Get real. Lawyers for Ron Paul have filed a federal lawsuit aginst the RNC with 1000 + plaintiffs where several of the plaintiffs are GOP chairs. This lawsuit will change how we do elections in the future as it will most likely unbind the delegates on the first round in Tampa. This is the biggest story of the election so far, but you will not see this on the MSM . https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B42o0yg7D7tcMHhweFllclkxT0U/edit?pli=1
The RNC has commited election fraud through the entire primary. It is not an election if the vote is fixed. Rules were broken, federal election laws were broken, the vote was joke. Paul has shown that he is connected with voters by the massive crowds at every event he has done, where Romney has shown a disconnect with the voters at every event he has done. Our elections are supposed to be done where an underdog, if he/she can get a grassroots movement that gets involved in the process, can defeat a rich candidate that has the ability to buy the vote. This is why it is so important for supporters to be involved in order to further their candidate in the process. I cannot help it that Romney is so disconnected that his supporters are not fighting for delegate spots hard enough. But hey, it is what it is.

I have attended campaign rallies for nearly every presidential candidate from both parties since Bush 41. At all the Republican rallies I attended there was always a large number of Democrats protesting and trying to disrupt the rally. At the Democrat rallies there was always none or only a few disrupters. It is about time Republicans push back on this. If liberals want civility, let them act civilly.

Probably not, It is in legal writing and I know that for some of you, you just cannot understand its content, but it does not change the fact that you are all duped into thinking that Romney is the nominee. He is only the presumptive nominee. If the judge rules in our favor, and I think the judge will, the delegates will be unbound. Are you so sure that there are not going to be 1144 Paul supporters as delegates? There are stealth delegates that were gotten in the beginning that nobody even considers. You think Santorum delegates are going to all be for Santorum or for that matter Mittens? Gingrich supporters? We have more than you can imagine right now and we are not finished getting more. You have an attorney? Ask him to give you his take on the lawsuit. No matter what happens, I am writing Pauls name in if I have to. All Paul supporters, watch this video. Well thank goodness the Ron Paul supporters don’t have a high enough number to effect the election. I didn’t vote for Romney in the primaries, but I will in the main election. (And I’m in Texas when our primary was held after everyone else dropped out.) If you don’t vote for Romney and you leave office of President blank, you’re voting for Obama. Don’t come crying to us when this country becomes socialist/marxist. Personally, I think Ron Paul (as well as all the other Republican nominees) should be in his cabinet somewhere. We could put Ron Paul as head of the Fed so he could audit it. Just nothing to do with foreign policy.

As to the bus I think it’s a bit like spiking the football, but he‘s not President yet so it doesn’t demean the office. Besides, was he DRIVING the bus? Was he even on it? I didn’t catch that part.

Here’s how I see it going down. The Romney bus parks near the Obama event (perhaps evidenced in the photo), as it gets gestures (whether it be thumbs up, or people flipping the bird) it toots the horn. One toot only.

I chalk it up to marketing and marketing only.

      You’re delusional and paranoid.
But your comment at least SUGGESTS, this doesn’t make the Romney campaign look GOOD.
That certainly is more intelligent than most of these posts.

I am starting to warm up to mitt. I think thats the kind of thing I would do. As long as he is serious about the job at hand-should he win. I hope in the next 4 years we can all have more fun. And mitt, if you read this, I only ask one thing. Return the wealth to the people-end the FED!!!

Absolutely. Right now is the silly season. No one is really paying attention, except for us. The main crowd, left and right, are barely paying attention.

Ok – the info comes from Obama supporters and the MSM (one in the same) and you treat it as true? I don’t buy it. One of their punks probs rented a blue van and plastered it with Romney stickers. If it did happen, I don’t approve. I really don’t want Romey to give the left any ammunition.

The press tries to say Romney is rich snob-ish a boar, then when “he” or his people doing “fun” and a little outside the norm, like this bus thing which is harmless, well he is damned by the press.
Of course the press is always going to try to make Romney look bad, obama look good.
If the obama bus did this the press would be jumping up and down in praise, what a good move they would shout, and how it rattled Romney, and how creative and fresh obama would be for doing that, SHAME ON THE PRESS.

Haaa! Come’ on people! This is funny.

It would be different if they were doing it DURING Obama’s speech… but the fact that the Obamabots were booing and yelling at the bus makes it funny that the bus actually drove by again… honking! lol

I think the article should have emphasized it was not during BO’s speech but rather only the location of the speach so it is not like the bus interrupted anything, just poked a little fun- but if it was during the speech i still think it would have been hilarious.
