‘Happy Now?’: FNC‘s Megyn Kelly Has Fiery Exchange with CAIR Director Over Juan Williams’ Firing

During a contentious interview on Fox News’ America Live, anchor Megyn Kelly interviewed Ibrahim Hooper, the communications director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), about NPR’s recent firing of political analyst Juan Williams for comments he made regarding Muslims.

”Let me explain how it works” Kelly tells Hooper at one point during the heated exchange. “I’m the anchor, you’re the guest.”

Megyn did a great job keeping her cool with the CAIR guy, especially considering that EVERY interview with CAIR is the same. Bluster, dissemble, distract, change subject, rant, rave, act offended, repeat. The only things that change are the faces. It’s as if they train their representatives to “interview” that way….. hmmmmmmmm

During this interview he said CAIR as an organization committed to defending the rights of Muslims blah blah blah…. CAIR was protecting Muslims from profiling in airports. WHAT!? How does Juan Williams’ OPINION equate to racial profiling in airports? How does Juan’s opinion affect the rights of ANYONE, much less Muslims? That‘s like saying Duchelingbags’ opinion on the Blaze affects the rights of everyone else on the site. Ridiculous! Duchey is a fool who rebrands himself as such with every comment he makes, just as CAIR rebrands itself as a biased organization bent on silencing anyone with an opinion about Islam that differs from their whitewashed version.

Juan was very clear about saying that HE, AS AN INDIVIDUAL had uneasy feelings upon seeing folks dressed in traditional Muslim garb. His statements had nothing to do with racial profiling by airport security, or attempting to implement standards for profiling based on religiolitical attire. (Yes, Islam is as political as it is religious.)

Juan was right to express himself, and NPR was wrong to fire him. CAIR is a joke, and Megyn ROCKED in this interview.

Good interview. You know, he’s right, he’s doing his job & his job is to defend the rights of Muslims. Unfortunately, so much of this Islam issue could have been diffused if the majority of moderate Muslims stood up collectively after 9/11 to denounce gihadists.

Not the guy who once uttered “I wouldn‘t want to create the impression that I wouldn’t like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future.” He’s no more than an Islamist without “Muslim garb” . We could also try them for any wrong doing under their sharia law, stoning, hanging, cutting off body members, or branding. I am sure they would not like to be tried under our laws.

I know that you are far more likely to die in a car crash than on a plane with Muslims on it, and since I do not cower when I get in a car, I act accordingly when I am on a plane with Muslims. You people are so dumb and don’t even realize, and just because the majority of Republicans are that dumb doesn’t mean you are suddenly justified in your collective stupidity. Go take a look at the Rand study on domestic terrorism in the US since 1990. Right wing nut jobs have committed far more terrorism than Muslims. Go look at the facts and stats before calling me gullible.

Do you spout such statistics to the families of the women and children who died on Pan Am flight 103 or on the ground? MSMONSOON, I guess you go to witch doctors rather than MD’s. I guess you consult people in straitjackets rather than credentialed lawyers when you have a legal problem. The problem with this crowd is that there is no authority or expert anymore. Show them someone whose opinion they agree with on a gut level and they will invent a hundred reasons to agree even if that person is not qualified to speak. Show them someone who is an expert but says something they don’t agree with, and they call that person names. There is no objective standard with you people, so you can keep your fantasy beliefs going. When policy questions become like a religious discussion, then all is lost. So attack the RAND Corp if you want, it just makes you look stupid doing that.

Calling someone stupid who is saying the equivalent of 1+1=3 is not mean. It’s being honest. And the person who believes 1+1=3 ought to go learn a little more and stop embarrassing themselves. The fact is that Rand has no political agenda and has concluded that your and Beck’s fears are misplaced. You can listen and adjust behavior accordingly, or you can continue to insist that 1+1=3. I guess ignorance must be bliss…

The real issue is this: Moderate Muslims NEED to speak out against jihadist muslims. When they do that, they will not be profiled. They have NEVER condemned the Muslims that flew plans into the building. Juan spoke of his feelings. If I were walking down the street and a gang of young men were walking toward me, I would get nervous. If muslims are on a plane in their attire, I get nervous. I think it’s simply being honest, what you’re saying. We’re facing the fact that people get nervous when confronted (perhaps not the best word, but the one that comes to mind at the moment) with a person who looks and dresses like someone who has hurt us previously. It doesn’t mean we hate them, and I think most rational people realize that it’s a survival impulse (if anything) and try to deal with that impulse internally in a reasonable manner. Juan, especially, would be one such person. He had a moment of true honesty, and I wish we could all have a reasonable discussion about what he said rather than have one group get fired up over it, and then another getting fired up over their reaction.

I have to agree, too, that it would make me nervous to see someone in a fully Sharia-complaint garb boarding a plane. It’s not that I think, “all Muslims = hijackers and terrorists,” it’s that the image Sharia-compliant Muslims present themselves in is one that DOESN’T condemn those who are terrorists. These reactions would be far less dramatic if Muslim populations, and not just the moderate and American populations, worldwide would condemn those supposedly few that mar the image of the many.

I applaud Juan for saying a completely honest thing that could have been an interesting opening to a meaningful discussion; and I don’t often agree with him, but he is frank, truly open-minded, and a person I would happily debate policy and ideology with. He would listen and not just attack (I’m looking at Bob Beckel for that one). I sincerely hope FOX News holds onto him. I’ve been disappointed with NPR in Wisconsin ever since it reduced the airtime they devote to classical music. That was what made them a truly unique station, and they’re forsaking that more and more as time goes on.

      ABC …

Finally showing your true colors I see.

I admit I also feel a wave of fear when I see Muslims on a plane – but I fight that feeling down because I strongly disagree with prejudice. I am positive this was what Juan Williams was saying. Someday I may be wrong and trust a terrorist that kills me, but I would rather die that way than live in a world of prejudice and fear.

However – that being said, there is NO harm in discussing people’s feelings and gut reactions to what they see, statistics or not. Muslim terrorists killed Americans on 9/11 in the name of Islam. There is no taking that thought away from all American citizens, especialy as the board airplanes.

I see you never reply to me, ABC, you just ramble on with your own discourse as if this is a contest. This is not a debate society. No one is giving points here. We are discussing the future of America for our own children.

I like ABCs faulty logic. While a small percentage of Muslims are blowing people up, it seems all the people who are blowing up innocent women and children on airplanes or flying them into buildings, have been Muslim. Now when would that percentage be invoked on your plane. Ten Muslims? Five Muslims.” Or perhaps only one Muslim. How many does it take? I don’t think it is a stretch to be wary of those who say they will kill us. How do I know they are gentle and kind? How do I know they don’t hate me? How do I know? I don’t. So, my being wary is appropriate. You’re funny.

Cruise, it’s not true colors. They are called facts. And to those who question them–because you are too dumb to know what real data is, how to analyze it, in short how to think–you should take it up with RAND, which is one of the best research and analysis outfits in the world. The defense department uses them all the time, so you beginning golfers who confidently say that Tiger Woods is a terrible golfer (and this is the equivalent of what you do), I say: start listening to one of the other voices in your head because you do not live in the world of empirical evidence but in a fantasy world of your creation. And finally, I do expect that people would not voice prejudice and fear against a very large group of people because they wrongly attribute mal intent on the basis of a tiny minority. This is anti-American and runs counter to good common sense. You continue to insist on making the same fallacy of composition mistake and you don’t want to correct it. This is idiocy and denial. Typical characteristics of weak minds. Go look up the FACTS and ANALYSIS on Rand’s website regarding terrorist threats. You will find that the entire Fox/Beck narrative about evil doers set on overthrowing the US and making us an Islamic caliphate are totally false. But of course, then you’d have to admit you are wrong, stupid and have wasted years of time listening to a crazy man…who is barely better than Jim Jones.

M.K. shredded this guy. You ever notice CAIR always puts out these people that don’t look like muslims for this garbage? We gotta stop cow-towing to muslims or we are going to end up encouraging their influence.

I also find it distasteful that a bunch of hairy-legged birkenstock-wearing liberal white women fired this black man who has had a very respectable career. I goad everyone about our Kenyan-born, Popeye’s-eating president because the man is a usurper. But I find Juan’s firing to be offensive and institutionally racist. Juan was the ONLY black on-air commentator at NPR. It ain’t right.

What we need is an INVESTIGATION of those who CONTROL the public airwaves. It would appear channels would rather LOOSE money than report the TRUTH. The same goes for the newspaper industry. Has SOROS really infected the American body so thoroughly? We need people who know how, to chase this information out. It needs to be done quickly and thoroughly! Only threw the light of day can America SURVIVE this insidious INVASION into our POLITICS, our SCHOOLS, our NEWSPAPERS, and finally our CHILDREN. We must move quickly or face COLLAPSE!
WHERE IS THE FBI? They are responsible for PROTECTING our government from FOREIGN and DOMESTIC interference. No one citizen can fight the AMOUNT of money flowing in to these left-wing COMMUNIST insurgence organizations. Only when all of the citizens finally STAND UP and FIGHT back are we going to have a chance at regaining our FREEDOM!
Please call the FBI and give them any information you may have on this invasion against our constitution, our government, and our schools.

      FBI info:

      • To provide information on select major cases, call our Major Case Contact Center at 1-800-CALLFBI (225-5324); and
      • To report fraud, waste, and abuse involving disaster relief, contact the National Center for Disaster Fraud by calling (866) 720-5721, by e-mailing disaster@leo.gov, or by writing: National Center for Disaster Fraud, Baton Rouge, LA 70821-4909.

If you have every dealt with a personality like his, you would know that he is a very controlling person. Megyn was not disrespectful to him in any way. I think “are you happy?” is a question for an actor or musician who just finished a movie or album. Or maybe for your child on their birthday. It’s not the kind of opening question you hear in the legitimate press. Personally I don’t think she was so much concerned with his well being as setting him up with a question for which, no matter what he says, can be used against him. You get an F in objective journalism for that kind of setup. But an A from people who want to hear their biases validated.

This clown (Hooper) has been bugging me for a long time…I just found out who he is (“Doug”) and what he stands for:

Ibrahim Hooper (formerly Doug Hooper) is a white American convert to Islam and one of the founders of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). At present, he serves as a spokesman and “Director of Strategic Communications” for that organization. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in journalism & mass communication.

Hooper has candidly stated that while he does not endorse the violent tactics of Islamic radicals, he does share their desire to impose Islam on all of America. “I wouldn‘t want to create the impression that I wouldn’t like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future,” he told the Minneapolis Star Tribune in a 1993 interview. “But I’m not going to do anything violent to promote that. I’m going to do it through education.”

Ten years later, in 2003, Hooper stated that if Muslims were ever to become a numerical majority in the U.S., they would likely seek to replace the Constitution with Islamic law (Sharia), which they view as divinely inspired and thus superior to all other legal systems.

Why do muslims get the VIP treatment in everything related to them? When Europeans immigrated from Europe to America they were expected to assimilate into American society. Why doesn’t this apply to those of Arab descent and muslims? Their goal is to dominate the world and obliterate all other societies and religions. It’s not a question of them being able to freely practice their religion but if others should be able to practice theirs.
