Are You Ready to Hear Barack Obama’s New Ad Targeting Blacks?

Imagine a Soul Train soundtrack combined with politics and you have the start of President Obama’s new ad targeting blacks.
The new spot, which is set to air nationally on Tuesday, is based on the phrase “We got your back.” The phrase is repeated several times throughout by a group of singers as quotes form the president and Barry White-like music play in the background.
Thegrio.com has some quotes from the ad:
“Four years ago we made history,” a male announcer says. “Now it’s time to move forward and finish what we started together. We have to show the President we have his back.” The spot is inter-cut with audio from President Obama’s speeches, touching on familiar political and campaign themes.
“I refuse to pay for another millionaire’s tax cut by kicking children off of Head Start programs; asking students to pay more for college; or eliminating health insurance for millions of poor and elderly and disabled Americans on Medicaid,” the president can be heard saying in the ad.

Of course, not everyone is happy with the ad. One blogger charged that it’s stereotypical and lamented that such an ad is acceptable if it targets blacks but would likely be criticized if it was a different candidate targeting, say, whites.
It‘s also worth pointing out that Obama’s support within the black community has taken a hit, especially among black religious leaders after the president came out and supported gay marriage.
In that sense, “We got your back” is more of a statement of hope than one of fact.

That’s true, but the tactic is used strictly to replace substantive rebuttal with intimidation techniques, in order to submerge the truth, usually by homosexuals, blacks, far left zealots, etc., who all do as they do because of abject hatred of who you are and what you stand for. It is they who are filled with hate.
It works only if a person is intimidated by being labelled a racist, homophobe, hater, etc. If you continue to pound on the truth, you can shut them up or at the very least make them look ridiculous for what they say.

What good is the degree if you can’t apply it. He just wants the stat that says America is the number one holder of collage degree citizens.
He can always do what they were trying to do with the FCAT (whatever they are called) scores in FL…..The passing student % was so low that they decided to lower the passing grade so more students would pass….That doesn’t make the students smarter, just makes the stat look better….

So there you have 83-95% of Blacks voting for the Democrat in each election. Of the Democrat candidates, Obama received the highest % vote by an extra 5% above what Gore received. One might argue that 5% of Black voters voted for Obama strictly because of his race. But it might also be true that they simply identified with his promise of “Hope”, ie. his campaign promises. Or they liked his policies. Or they just liked him personally. Or more likely, those 5% just really hated Bush. But I don’t think we can say concretely, that they voted for Obama because of his blackness, based on the data. 5% may not even be statistically significant. It is possible that the 95% may just be the high end of a normal

You’re a moron. First, collages have frames. Colleges have degrees.
Second, the end result of the FCAT mess in Florida (I live here, I know) wasn’t to pass more students. Our fourth graders this year had very good grades on last year’s third grade FCATS. Again, I know because my fourth grader took both tests.
What happened in Florida was the result of the state changing guidelines and sharply increasing expectations placed upon this year’s fourth graders that were higher than any year in the past which in essence caused the students in that grade to have to go from what passed as third grade level last year to what passed as better than fifth grade level last year. Add in the fact that the teachers were poorly communicated to on what exactly was changing so they could teach to those areas, and of course you’re going to have a problem!
The fact that so many kids failed this year after having passed this year is an indicator of flawed testing and grading, not flawed teaching. An entire grade of students don’t forget how to write overnight.
Go back and read up on what you’re talking about before you jump to bloviation next time.

Hopefully, Blacks will realize that the Republican party has a very long history of supporting equal rights for Blacks, and that it was the dems who fought civil rights legislation from the 1850′s until 1963. It was the dems that set up welfare systems in the 1960′s that fragmented the family on welfare, saying that the male could not live in the same house as his family if they were on welfare.Too, the more babies a mother on welfare had, the more money she made, whether she could adequately raise them or not. These reasons are directly responsible for the gang culture replacing the male in the family. Dems charge that Republicans are for the rich, while dems are for the poor. That is true in part. The rich, however, provide the jobs and the tax revenues, while the poor, who pay no tax, are dependent on the dems for continuing their income. In a sense, you could say the dems “own” the poor, as it is their policies that determine whether the poor get any income. It is like the miners of the last century, “owned” by the company store, the only place the miners could shop for food. The miners could never leave to better themselves, because they could never get ahead. Welfare policies are set up so the poor cannot work, and thus get off welfare, because work income of more than a pittance knocks them off welfare. So, the dems are not “for” the poor, they are just exploiting them for votes.

The ones I have heard talking are disgusted as they have not been given even more by their “black leader”. My neighbors – 99% – are on full welfare – do not work – are not disabled – draw max food stamps, plus many more benefits unavailable to non-white people. Still, they complain. Their days consist of drugs and booze. Not happy as they don’t have “more more more”. Uneducated, and unaware. If their child gets a failing grade, they go to the school and threaten the childs’ teacher. It is acceptable behavior here. Do we really need another Prez – legal or not – that will continue to condone that way of life????????
