It is equally sad that some of those in government and media will use this kind of tragedy to cast aspersions on their opponents always looking through the political / idealogical lens long before any facts are known.

The communists will kill and blame everyone else and use it as an excuse to destroy the people who disagree with them. See communism, look at the Gulf of Mexico, look at California’s once fertile valley. Look at Obamacare and the destruction of health care in this country. Look at the financial system and how they brought it down. It is all there. All they need now is a reason to create martial law. Is this the reason?

    I predicted this when it happened this morning. Someone high up got in the sheriffs ear. Watch out for this sheriff to be offered a federal position in the future. This is what they mean when they say “never let a crisis go to waste.” I find this sheriff’s comments to be an abomination. I doubt he has a shred of evidence that this shooter listened to glenn or rush.

      Can we start a huge letter campaign to shower him with letters to educate and enlighten him for days on end? We must react to this outrage. Please, lets do something in such a way that we know how many people are participating so the effort isn’t lost when it lands on the other end. If we have departure records, it is going to be much easier to make them acknowledge arrivals, which otherwise they simply won’t do.

      The ‘Wanted For Treason’ ad in the paper that morning might have had something to do with the Dallas image. Not that Dallas was at fault, mind you…..just that events highlighted the crass nature of the politics some were practicing at the time.

      I just watched that Sherriff again on CNN for one minute – I am so ticked at that guy I am coming out of my skin. Does anyone have his direct phone number? That old man is a jerk. I would like to hear what he has to say about killers like Ted Bundy and John Wayne Gacy – they only listened to their own damaged brains probably from too many LSD trips. Talk radio has nothing to do with it.

      Nah. Watch these pages long enough and you could pull a few hate-filled comments out. Of course, there are always going be some hate-filled people in any large enough group; hate is not an exclusively left-, or right-wing phenomenon.

      That said, I find that “hate”, like “fascist”, is a word that the left has deprived of any real meaning, and used to signify anything they don’t approve of. So they say that Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, etc. “spew hate”, in the same way they called Bush a “fascist”, without offering any specific examples merely because they disagree with them. This of course is the standard, baseless ad hominem — in other words, the typical leftist “argument”.

      The Sheriff is certainly entitled to his opinion concerning the motivation behind this tragedy (no matter how intellectually dishonest this opinion may be). A press conference in front of the national media is not the proper venue for him to express such views though. He is an elected official, who quite obviously harbors anti-right, anti-free speech views, but he is also a sworn Sheriff whose conduct should never undermine public confidence in his agency’s professional objectivity. I am a senior state law enforcement officer in a state where the law prohibits people in my position from engaging in partisan political activity (above and beyond casting votes and privately expressing political opinions). Why? Because doing so might undermine the public’s trust in our fairness and objectivity. The Sheriff should consider the fact that he is sworn to serve people of all ideological persuasions, and who expect him to rise above the political fray when discharging his official duties. Moreover, and contrary to the Sheriff’s insinuations, most conservative commentators I have ever listened to (Glenn Beck included) have explicitly spoken out against violence. The same cannot be said of many left-wing commentators.

      As other liberal gunman before him they posses a superiority complex and usually force their agenda upon other liberal institutes or persons.

      We can teach our children moral conscience, seem as if public schools are having a difficult time doing that.

      The conscience manifests itself in the feeling of obligation we experience, which precedes, attends and follows our actions.

      Conscience is first occupied in ascertaining our duty, before we proceed to action; then in judging of our actions when performed.

      We can learn these objectives by reading the Bible, or attending bible studies, or having discussion with someone who does. A christian who regularly fellowships with other christians is less likely to sin. If you posses a moral conscience, your children are more likely to do the same. Similar to the flight attendent instructions, place the oxygen mask on yourself before assisting your child. If you need oxygen, look around and see who’s breathing, they’ll share.

      Some people are very well adjusted without Christ in their lives. The unbelieving culture today has a problem because there’s no basis for truth out there outside the word of god. The boundry of good and evil runs through every human heart.

      How do we overcome the world system? Jesus Christ is the victor. Believe that jesus christ is the son of God our creator. Believe what he has taught. Then you’ll believe that he will be victorious in the final analysis. If that faith isn’t present, you’ll be swept along with the world system.

What can you do?? there are crazies out there, sadly. I will say that when the country is where it is today with the unemployed and a lot of unhappy people, our elected officials should have some kind of security accompanying them during these types of events. I’m not brainiac, but seems like it would be common sense. Not blaming her, maybe just that powers to be should be prepared for such crazies in this unstable America.       A press conference pertaining to a violent attack is no place for the sheriff to voice his political beliefs or opinions. Today would be the time to collect the facts and stick to them.       This sheriff is NOT well respected here in Arizona…Sheriff Joe would not act the way this man does…he’s a big fat self-serving blow hard…He KNOWS we have FREE SPEECH in this country…so what on earth does he hope to gain with his statements?…He mentioned “those on TV” a couple times during his interview…do you suppose he was referring to anyone WE KNOW? You bet he was!

      I personally don‘t understand why our Representatives don’t at least have one specialist on their payroll who is trained to spot trouble before it occurs…you know, the bouncer type/body guards…personally, as much money as our government ****** away, wonder why we couldn’t justify providing this kind of support for them? AND, as you can see, the public is also at risk when our Reps are targeted at public appearances…Just a thought.

      This Sherriff NEVER pointed out which side the hate and vitriol was coming from. Just to be fair here, and it doesn’t MATTER which “side” this guy thinks he’s on, he is on the WRONG side. There is NO fault here but his own, no matter if he shot from his left hand or his right. He is a sick man, and if he could do this once, then in my opinion, he should be executed so he can never do this again. And i am anti-death penalty. (yeah, shocking coming from an uber-conservative) but if there is overwhelming evidence (he was taken into custody on the spot with MANY witnesses) then he should get the gas.

      Folks, you need to see the situation and the individual, and NOT knee-jerk one way or the other. Whether he was left wing or right wing, it doesn’t matter. He was one man, with an effed up brain, and that is all. No matter what “infuenced” him, he is the ONLY one at fault here!

      Just this week, a local radio host entertained a caller’s idea of publicly executing lawmakers who vote against tea party/populist lines. Of course, nobody has any authority to legislate opinion– even opinions as odious as those implied by Beck, et al– but it is safe to say that this is a classic case of chickens coming home to roost.

In it, he said his rep had voted against Pelosi and was now “DEAD TO ME” (him)–wow.       My deepest sympathy goes out to the families of those effected by this Psychopathic killer. If a couple of those people would have been exercising their duties as a citizen of the State of Arizona and as a citizen of the United States to carry a firearm the outcome may have been different. Arizona has open carry laws and a federal judge should always be armed because of the likelihood of revenge by somebody he sent to jail or one of the criminals gang, relative or friend actually doing something to take revenge for the criminals incarceration etc. Every Honest and Decent person in the State of Arizona should go armed, would make for a much politer society for one, and the bad actors would be weeded out in short order. We The People have a right to defend ourselves.
      Ask yourself this question why am I shirking my responsibility to defend and protect myself and my family from Criminals or Psycopaths. You cannot depend on the police to be there when you need them. They usually show up after the fact so you have the responsibility to defend yourself and others until they get there. Just some ramblings of a curious mind.
      As for what the Sherif said about media talkers and radio hosts here again we have projection of their bigotry and racism onto those they disagree with.
      There have always been Psychopaths and there always will be.
      Your best bet is to be prepared and able to defend yourself.
      Period!!!

      I do not know if this is the case in Arizona, but most Sheriff’s positions are elected and political in nature. Do not be too quick to embrace this guy as representative of law enforcement opinion! It seems he has only a political agenda to advance on the backs of Congresswoman Giffords and others…which is the usual m.o. of liberal politicians, remember never waste a crisis?

      As a 20-year law enforcement official who has frequently had occasion to address the media concerning major cases, I found the Sheriff’s comments to be quite irresponsible and shocking. The first responsibility of the law enforcement officials investigating this brutal crime should be the methodical pursuit of truth. Truth is neither subjective, nor something that should be shaded or speculated upon in furtherance of scoring cheap political points. Seemingly, the Sheriff, and many others, could not resist the temptation to do so though. The Sheriff needs to stick to the facts and maintain the integrity and objectivity of the investigative process. To do otherwise insults the victims and families devastated by this tragedy. In my opinion, it is the height of professional irresponsibility for a law enforcement executive to stand in front of the national media and engage in reckless off-the-cuff speculation about the motivation of a murderer, just a few hours after the crime was committed, and in the infancy of the investigation.

      The Sheriff is a bonide nimrod. He is Sheriff in the most liberal city in Arizona. It is amazing to me that with so many qualified unemployed, this guy has a job, let alone a high paying one.

      Sheriff is a lefty with an agenda- otherwise he would be pointing out the rhetoric on both sides instead of pointing fingers at the person who scares the left the most- Sarah Palin and the possibility of her being our President and restoring honor and decency to our country.

      It would appear that the Sheriff has his sights set at the wrong target. It is the left calling for violence, and the dismantling of the government by radical even violent means. I listen to all different talk radio and have NEVER heard any of the people that host those shows call for violence. In fact they have repeatedly have said the exact opposite and have taken the time to make it clear that violence on ANY level is not going to bring about the real change this country needs.

      Ahh Yes – and who will be in charge of speech? The sheriff maybe?, How about Obama? Or maybe you prefer someone like Bush? Think about your speech rights – someone may not agree with what you have to say.
