Arizona Lawmakers Seek Private Donations For Border Fences

It‘s the inaction of the federal government that’s pushing Arizona lawmakers to take the matter of immigration into their own hands.
At least that‘s what State Senator Steve Smith said in an appearance on Greta Van Susteren’s show this week. He said the state is using a website to collect private donations from citizens across the United States to build a fence along the Mexico border line. The state is also accepting mail-in gifts.
Sen. Smith said the response has been “unbelievable.”
“In the first 24 hours alone when the site up we received donations from people from all 50 states across the country,” he told Van Susteren. He’s even more excited about the positive response from military men and women all over the world. For them to take the time to contribute, Sen. Smith said, means a lot.
Lawmakers launched the effort last month. Sen. Smith said it has already collected almost $200,000 to build fences all along the Arizona-Mexico border.
He told Van Susteren the issue of immigration is an American issue, not a problem just for the Southwest. The nationwide support has made it clear many other people agree, he tells Van Susteren in the video below.

This must be a newer address because I could swear the total donations were higher when I donated

Posted on August 28, 2011 at 6:02amObama and the US Congress will just order those fences torn down as they are being build. Obama has already ordered Amnesty to the approval of the US Congress. Amnesty is more voters for Obama and more cheap labor for everyone. Amnesty means more crime and higher insurance premiums, a need for more cops, judges, and law enforcement workers. Build the fence but if the states refuse to post guards prepared to fire on Federal workers and marshals the fence will come down.

Posted on August 28, 2011 at 6:08amThe only fence that will stand is the fence around the FEMA camps where TEA people will be interned. American families will be packed into Conrail box car containers like Japs were during WWII. Showers anyone?

Posted on August 28, 2011 at 4:08pmI see all of the pictures of the Arizona fence. I watch the news and see all of these people climbing over what I assume is a border fence in Arizona. This makes me wonder where is the razor wire on the top of the fences? Our county jail is just up the street from where I live, it has razor wire on the fences to stop people from climbing over it. Why doesn’t Arizona do likewise? Maybe I’ve got things wrong. Could it be; if the wire was there then Americans couldn’t climb over the fence and go into Mexico. Or maybe Arizona isn’t that serious about keeping Mexicans from crossing into their state. I’m hoping someone can explain the reasoning here.

Posted on August 26, 2011 at 11:55pmHere’s and idea subtract the cost of the fence, schools, health costs prisons and any other services from the monies the Feds tax and/or deducted form paychecks. Slap a duty on any mexican truck or vehicle that comes into the state…and send a bill to the Mexican government for every illegal. If an illegal is caught confiscate ALL of their worldly goods and sell them for fence money. Any money sent to Mexico should be taxed at 50% before or while it is wired if and when it leaves the country. No welfare if hey get it jail the ones who give it to them. Sue the Feds for reimbursments…if they bitch start taxing the Feds property heavily!!!

Posted on August 27, 2011 at 10:31amI couldn’t agree more! I wish that we could send busloads of Americans down to AZ to volunteer to help build this fence. Think of how great that would be–how amazing to have so many true American patriots together in one place with the same common goal–THAT would send a message to Mexico!

Posted on August 26, 2011 at 11:26pmI think Mexico should be a good neighbor and pay for half the fence. Mexico should also get a bill for all the damage their people cause in our country. If your neighbors dog gets in your yard and tears up your landscaping you would ask your neighbor to pay for the damages. I think Mexico should pay for half the fence and get a bill for all the damage their citizens have done in our country.

But Princess Di would come back to haunt you over them.
Besides, that doesn’t exactly sound like “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Remember the foolish college kids being tried in Iran as spies, because they went out hiking in Kurdistan and didn’t know where the border is. At least a fence can be seen!

Report Post »Having served in Iraq (I’m now in AFG) during the last six years, those LIB hikers were warned by the Peshmerga (Kurdish Army) not to go hiking in that area and they disregarded the warning as all LIBS are all-knowing in everything they do. Well, now we know the result of that great thinking! Besides who goes “hiking” in a war zone?? It wasted valuable assets and time for us to go look for them in the beginning.
As far as the fence, being an Arizonan, I am all for it and we need to also use our military capabilities of UAV’s, camera’s, etc to keep illegals out of our state which is draining our resources in our great state. Please support Gov Brewer and Sheriff Joe as they seem to be some of the few that truly want to keep our country safe and ENFORCE the laws.

Posted on August 26, 2011 at 11:35pmIndeed, the feds refuse to do anything to stop the drug smugglers, illegal immigrants, terrorists and just about anyone who wishes to come across; after all look at the “Fast and Furious” farce of a fiasco they did as well, passing arms to known gangs of thugs and terrorists (narco terrorists) in the face of the lies told to the Mexican government.
For some reason the administration only wants terrorists to be the lawful citizens of the land who are on the conservative side. And yes, we know the reasons, his hatered for the country is only outdone by the levels of treason he has committed.

CAPITALIST THOUGHT: Coppertone ought to set up a factory & shops on the other side of the border with 1Million Sunblock & Aloe Vera, kiosk’s every half mile? Earth 2 O Water Co. ought to partner with them?
THINKING MINERAL DEPOSITS: What about a very long strip mine? Can’t mine anywhere else. Traverse that ditch!? I‘m sure there’s value in that rock stratum…. isn’t there?
Just think out of the box! ;-)

Posted on August 26, 2011 at 11:30pmWell, at least Sherrif Arpaio’s posse can set that example over in Maricopa County!! We need more lawmen like Arpaio and Buford Pusser (may God rest his soul). My question right now is why are people all around the world attacking law men and military personnel? People shouldn’t be at all surprised to see this taking a toll on lawmen and military personnel – making them more “antsy”, and quick to protect themselves. Well they should. Makes me wonder what is going to happen when the current President orders Nationwide Martial Law. In my perspective, he’s been working toward that very thing since being elected President by the Electoral College.
