Arizona Sheriff: Why More US Troops in Korea Than on Mexican Border?

On Monday, Arizona Sheriff Paul Babeu told CNS News that the 1,200 U.S. National Guardsmen that will be kept along the U.S.-Mexico border until Sept. 30 is far from enough. The sheriff accused the Obama administration of “pandering” with this decision on manpower levels, indicating the sheriff believes it is a purely political gesture that will have a negligible effect on US-Mexico border security.

Arizona Sheriff: Why More US Troops in Korea Than on Mexican Border?

Section of the US-Mexico Border Fence

Only 520 guardsmen are deployed in Arizona, according to the sheriff,  and Arizona is a state with a 276-mile border with Mexico. In 2010, approximately 212,000 illegal aliens were seized in the Tucson sector of Arizona – or 47 percent of all illegal aliens taken into custody, according to a Department of Homeland Security study cited by CNS News.

To illustrate his point, Babeu compared the number of U.S. soldiers assigned to protect the US-Mexico border with the28,500 US troops that have been stationed in North Korea for 58 years.

Referring to what he views as a grossly undermanned US-Mexico border-particularly in the State of Arizona-Babeu said:

“The gravest national security risk that we face is right here with the unsecure border with Mexico…right from the beginning, these 1,200 [National Guard] soldiers fall far short from what’s really, truly needed to achieve a secure border.”

The Sheriff went on to claim that 6,000 U.S. troops are needed to properly secure the US border. In his opinion, 3,00o National Guardsmen in Arizona and 1,000 in each of the other three border states would do the job over a two-year period.

We do not needs US troops in Afghanistan, Iraq, or Libya. Dear Lord, we’ve had US troops in South Korea for sixty years. None of these countries want us there — just one year ago the people of South Korea were demonstrating/rioting against the US. We don’t have to be the police department for the world; we need to mind our own business. Our foreign aid does more harm than good. We need to close foreign bases and bring our troops home. We need a presidential candidate who will kick the United Nations out of the US and terminate all funding to the UN. We need a presidential candidate who will terminate all foreign aid. We need a candidate who will secure our border

You are right Dennis. I cannot disagree with anything you said. Maybe we just see things differently here in AZ. Nation building is BS. We went into Afghanistan because that was the main base and the main place the terrorists trained. There was nothing wrong with that, they attacked us. Our goal was to get Bin Laden. We got him, now we need to bring the troops home. But before we leave we need to tell the terrorists if they move back in we come over and clean them out again, and again, and again if need be. The government and the people allow them to train and plan in Afghanistan they are just as responsible as the terrorists. Take no prisoners, let God sort them out. Building their nation is destroying ours and I personally do not consider that a bargain. Getting our guys killed for the Afghans is also BS. Enough said!

Bush and McCain are every bit as bad as the Democrats when it comes to illegals. The fact of the matter is that 40% of illegals are not Mexican. They came with visas and over stayed. We tried amnesty once, when there was supposed to be only a million illegals. There were really more than 3 million. Now they say there are 12 million, I bet it is closer to 30 million.

That’s not exactly true CALVO, the republicans are ambivalent about illegal immigration, because they don’t know what the hell to do about it. The democraps are much more sinister, they purposely don’t want to do anything about it, for purely leftist reasons, such as World Governance, Globalism, voter numbers, and to be able to use these people and the problems they create to further their agenda’s such as government contolled healthcare, gun control, increased taxes, etc.

No one should be able to cross our borders illegally. No one. I don’t care if they are a Mexican or a blond haired, blue-eyed Swede. No one should illegally come here. There is always the ones who speak of how good the Mexicans work at the menial jobs. The truth is they take good jobs from Americans too. They cost us billions in education and in medical bills. A large percentage of them are criminals and they prey on unsuspecting Americans. They form and enlarge drug gangs. There are some that are revolutionaries and want to take the Southwestern states from America and make them a new Spanish speaking Country allied with Mexico are part of Mexico. They are a plague. Then there is the fact that other people are crossing the unprotected southern border.., including terrorists. What a stupid government we have in Washington D.C.

If intercity blacks are killing each other in record numbers, driving up our crime rate, it serves the leftists in the area of gun control, gun confiscation. They are pure evil.

Comprehensive immigration. If you can’t solve 20 million illegals already in the country why stop a few hundred thousand more a year. We have been told this by both political parties for 30 years (wait…a few hundred thousand a year for thirty years = 20 million). What if we had stopped them starting thirty years ago, There would be 19 million fewer to send back now. Comprehensive anything is just a code word for doing nothing. Comprehensive=paralysis. It is sick how our government is giving away our country without lifting a finger to do the will of the people. The immigration problem alone is proof that we have lost our government. Compared to what is happening right now in this country due to uncontrolled immigration from Mexico I could care less what happens to South Korea. Our own federal government is doing a better job of destroying us than some dictator in North Korea could ever do.

I grew up 7 miles from the Mexican border – sure the Mexicans want US jobs. Right now about 18 million legal Citizens would love to have those jobs. When we have 3-4% unemployment again we may consider letting them return legally as Braceros with 90 day temporary visas then they must go home. Even Mexico will shoot and kill Guatemalan’s trying to cross their southern border.

Well perhaps if the US gun shops along the boarder would stop selling guns to smugglers who they know are taking them to Mexico, and a host of small business people like construction, landscaping, housekeeping, maintenance, etc. companies would stop knowingly hire them the problem might start reversing itself. But yes I am in favor of reducing our military footprint everywhere.

Sheriff Paul Babeu is a national hero! It’s no wonder he received the “Sheriff of the Year” award… This man speaks the truth, and we desperately need more American patriots with the courage to stand up and speak out.

Why do we secure the borders of foreign nations while leaving our southern border wide open to mass human smuggling, drug smuggling, gangs, crime and corruption? As Sheriff Babeu states, this is not about race; this is about the rule of law.

A country without borders is not a country at all. We must stop being a big fat “free for all” for any and all invaders from across the globe as this has made us the laughingstock of the world and will most certainly be our downfall…

We must secure our borders and protect the safety and security of the American people; and the only way we can accomplish this is by electing political representatives who will honor their oaths to the Constitution and serve the majority will and best interests of the American people.

Enough with these open-border, We-are-the-World, global elites running our show! After all, our “royal” members of the ruling class don’t have to live with the devastating consequences of wide-open borders and mass illegal immigration… We the People do.
