‘Arrogant’ and ‘Immature’: Current TV Countersues Keith Olbermann

From a conservative point of view, watching the fight between Keith Olbermann and Current TV is a classic case of Evil versus Evil. And the fight just got a little more entertaining, now that Current TV has decided to sue Olbermann back after he decided to file suit against them yesterday. And unlike Olbermann’s suit, which essentially appeared to amount to Olbermann being insulted, the Current countersuit has some interesting details about Olbermann’s work habits. The LA Times reports:

In a court filing Friday, the network attacked the liberal opinion-maker as “arrogant” and “immature” and said that he had failed to show up for nearly half of his recent workdays. The papers were a response to Olbermann’s $70-million breach-of-contract lawsuit filed Thursday against Current, which hired him as its star last year but dismissed him in late March after months of turmoil.

Current said it doesn’t have to “pay a dime” to Olbermann, “who, having already been paid handsomely for showing up sporadically and utterly failing to keep his end of the bargain, now seeks to be paid tens of millions more for not working at all.” The papers also point out that Olbermann told David Letterman, “I screwed up” at Current during a TV appearance this week.[...]

“[H]e arrogantly and falsely calls ‘cheap’ the company that has paid him the highest compensation he had ever received in his career, provided him the largest staff of any program he had ever anchored, given him the largest studio and custom-designed set on which he had ever worked, and paid over $50,000 in an eight-month period to eight different limousine companies because none of the previous seven were able to meet his patrician standards for how to drive him around New York City,” the papers say.

Olbermann’s attorney has dismissed the filing, though it will not do much good for Olbermann in the court of public opinion.

or else ESPN will have him calling NFL games again…..that might lead me to call for my first boycott….

What I would really enjoy is seeing Al and Keith settle this man to man (or pig to whale) in the ring.
Can’t you just visualize the two of them trading slaps and dancing around, now that would be worth a pay for view show.
Poor Keith may not be able to collect anything as ruor has it that Current TV is close to being dropped by all of the cable and dish providers.

Who needs an astronomically overpriced lampshade that’s obnoxious, consummately humorless, pretentious, conceited, insulting, preachy, hypocritical, and sucks every last photon of light out of the room?

But enough about Olbermann’s former boss.

Who is responsible for the current economic malaise? If you ask Bill Whittle, it‘s Obama’s pals like David Axelrod, Harry Reid and Tim Geithner, some of the many Merchants of Despair. These merchants are costing taxpayers trillions and creating deep national divides based on class and race. Will the despair continue for another four years? Find out.

Hope it costs algore a bundle….anything to destroy the bane of my state – though it probably doesn’t matter anyway since according to algore the world will end in in 3 years 295 days 3 hrs and 25 minutes because of man-made global warming (based upon algores’ past decrees as recorded on the count down clock posted of Rushlimbaugh.com – pretty funny)

In any event, I think the rapture will happen before then. Since all of the prophecies are now fulfilled- the last was the re-creation of the land of Israel (that was in 1948 – get ready, pack up, pray up, we are going Home)

Keith Olbermann is nothing more than a malignant narcissist with a completely undeserved ego. He delivers verbal pornography to the lowest common denominator in society and even they’ve gotten sick of him. It’ll be interesting to see how much longer the Rev. Sharpton will actually last in front of TV cameras.

Olbermann really is a sad, sad specimen of a man. If he had not already given up any semblance of a ‘political pundit’s’ career, he has now. He is certainly a tool. A tool that is kinda bent and rusty and just not that useful anymore.

Most of the time, I’d agree with you, but Al did hire Keith and gave him a second (third, fourth, fifth?) chance. And Keith just couldn’t get over himself to actually do some work.

Now by getting his knickers all in a twist, Keith may have inadvertently performed a public service with his two year old behavior since the lawsuits are going to be costly and Current TV is not exactly on a stellar path of popularity. So we’ll see how deep the pockets really are at Currrent.

And note to prospective employers, you might want to think once, twice and then a few more times before hiring a liability like this guy. He’s giving Charlie Sheen a run for his money.
