‘Ask bin Laden’: Obama Pulls Osama Trump Card

WASHINGTON (The Blaze/AP) — Invoking the death of Osama bin Laden, President Barack Obama on Thursday forcefully rejected Republican criticism of his foreign policy as timid and the equivalent of “appeasement.”

“Ask Osama bin Laden and the 22 out of 30 top al-Qaida leaders who have been taken off the field whether I engage in appeasement. Or whoever is left out there, ask them about that,” the president said during a news conference.

Here’s his full response:

And this video has the question:

His remarks came a day after Republican presidential candidates took turns criticizing Obama’s foreign policy as weak during speeches before Jewish activists and donors. They especially focused on the Obama administration’s Middle East policy.

Former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania on Wednesday said Obama’s policy toward radical Islamists “has been nothing but appeasement.”

Obama seemed primed for the question about the critique, responding by citing the killing of al-Qaida leaders and offering no further defense of his policies.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney on Wednesday said Obama “emboldened Palestinian hard-liners who now are poised to form a unity government with terrorist Hamas and feel they can bypass Israel at the bargaining table.“ Romney also accused Obama of being ”timid and weak in the face of the existential threat of a nuclear Iran.”

Last week at a New York fundraiser, Obama specifically addressed concerns from Israel supporters about his administration’s approach to the Middle East.

“I try not to pat myself too much on the back, but this administration has done more in terms of the security of the state of Israel than any previous administration,” Obama said then.

@realindependent: This is exactly why he won’t get re-elected. The only people buying into the argument that this economy isn‘t Obama’s to take responsibility for are the people that will already vote for him regardless.
Because you were in office when bin Laden was killed doesn’t make you a foreign policy expert. The fact is the way any president can have a strong foreign policy is by having a strong America financially, militarily, and morally. This is where Obama is void of any responsibility as he hasn’t done anything to boost any of these principles. In fact he’s torn them down, i.e. the corruption in government that he’s perpetuated, payouts to union supporters, Cass Sunstein get his own category, bestiality and homosexuality in the military. Shall I go on?

Clinton is the President most responsible for 9-11. He had several chances to take out Bin Laden but was too busy fooling around with Monica and fighting impeachment. Bush didn’t do anything until after the fact, then he used it as an excuse to take out Saddam Hussein for trying to kill his dad. We spent a trillion dollars and lost over 4000 good men in Iraq and accomplished nothing except to carry out a personal vendetta.

And the next questions should have been….”Mr Obama..are you saying that your policies alone led to the killing or capture of these men?”. “Are you disputing that the policies laid down by the Bush administration were the means by which these people could be found and killed?”. “Why aren’t we capturing these men and only killing them Mr Obama?”. “Does it have something to do with having to place them in Gitmo?”.

Every American knows Obama’s against harsh interrogations and that OBL was found because of the policies the Bush administration fought so hard for. Can you tell me where the Bush adminstration allowed lending standards to be dropped to dangerously low levels thus bringing on the mortgage meltdown? I’ll be waiting.

Problem is, this killing and blowing up terrorists is just as bad as Clinton not having us go boots on ground in the Balkans, we were so far behind the eight ball when we started the GWOT it wasn’t even funny, all fighting techniques didn’t work, their value system is different (those that know what this is know what I am talking about). So now, simply eliminating terrorist leaders does not allow us to get information, which I believe is the reason why this administration continues to eliminate them instead of bringing them in to interogate them. Dead men don’t tell lies (or give us new information, which is his point). Look at all the socialist based governing systems, they all eat themselves to survive.

So let me get this straight. Obama has gone from blaming everything bad in America and the world on Bush. And his friends, the progressives, call Bush a criminal.
Now Obama is trying to gain favor by boasting about continuing Bush policies that so many of his supporters say made Bush a “war times criminal”? And then lie about his policies on Israel?
I think this strategy is something Obama has always done. Riding on the coattails of someone else. Well, that, and lying his butt off and pandering to his wealthy supporters like Soros, unions and celebreties and using his skin color to gain favor.

The operation was based on the superb work of intelligence analysts who found the dictator’s footprints in a vast country. The operation was carried out with skill and precision by a brave fighting force. Our servicemen and women and our coalition allies have faced many dangers in the hunt for members of the fallen regime, and in their effort to bring hope and freedom to the Iraqi people. Their work continues, and so do the risks. Today, on behalf of the nation, I thank the members of our Armed Forces and I congratulate ‘em.

He doesn’t like to pat himself on the back too much? This clown probably has welts on his back from too many pats! Kinda ironic, isn’t it? Obama is THE perfect example of affirmative action gone too far!

Well we have been expecting the “UBL blown away” message to come forth as his desperation increases in the coming elections; what he seems to convienently forget is that for every leader that is wasted, another will arise in their place…and even if somehow Al Queda were eliminated, there will be yet more arising.

And do not forget as well Mr Obama, the death of the SEAL members aboard a helo that got shot down after the enemy found out they were the ones who took down UBL. A little too coincidental of the timing many of us will never forget.

Correct. Don’t forget, an intact(and very hi-tech) Black helicopter given to the other side in the “play”. Also, we are gently landing (undamaged) our very best tech drones in Iran. Class warfare, supply the other side, betray our allies, condemn capitalism, destroy the dollar…all in a days work for a Marxist.

      You’re right!
There IS some belief that UBL is possibly still alive – AND
the unlikely event & untimley deaths of the Navy Seals, was to hide that fact.
So, it MAY BE possible to ask UBL.

The potus IS correct : “ but this administration has done more in terms of the security of the state of Israel than any previous administration”

NO ONE has done more to destroy the security of Israel -
