‘Ask If You Can Work From Home’: EPA Releases ‘Tips’ on Living Green for Earth Day

Ask If You Can Work From Home: EPA Releases Tips on Living Green for Earth Day

(Photo: UNCF)

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is reportedly trying to make every day “Earth Day,“ and is providing Americans countless ”environmental tips” to facilitate the transition.

The official “Earth Day” website reads: “Today, instead of having only 17 thousand EPA employees working to protect the environment, we now have over 300 million Americans as environmental partners making environmentally protective choices. By equipping this growing army of environmental stewards with the tools they need to meet today’s challenges, [the] EPA is helping America shift into a green culture.”

Some of the “tips“?

…If you commute to work, ask if you can work from home at least some days, and you’ll reduce air pollution and traffic congestion – and save money. Reduce greenhouse gases on the road.

Don’t idle! Remind your school system to turn off bus engines when buses are parked. Exhaust from idling school buses can pollute air in and around the bus, and can enter school buildings through air intakes, doors, and open windows. Constant idling also wastes fuel and money, and school bus engines really need only a few minutes to warm up. More about reducing engine idling.

It’s electric! You can check how much of your electricity comes from renewable “green” power sources, such as wind or solar…

Make your home an Energy Star! When you do home maintenance, also do a home energy audit to find out how you can save money by making your home more energy efficiency. And if every American home replaced just one conventional light bulb with a compact fluorescent light bulb, we would save enough energy to light more than 3 million homes a year. Find more energy savings.

Everyone can make a difference! High school students can study links between everyday actions at their high school, greenhouse gas emissions, and climate change. Become a “climate ambassador” leader in your school or neighborhood and motivate friends, schools, and community leaders. Talk to you friends – help spread the word! Learn more at school.

Ask If You Can Work From Home: EPA Releases Tips on Living Green for Earth Day

Lisa Jackson, EPA Administrator

The EPA also had abundant tips on “using water efficiently,” with suggestions like, “don’t pre-rinse dishes,” and, “put a little timer or clock near your shower so you can see how fast you are” (they recommend 5 minutes, and discourage baths altogether).

The report comes as EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson meets with the leaders of more than 40 nations in Paris (not exactly ‘working from home’) on the issue of sustainability.

Ah yes…,let us all embrace “EARTH DAY”! It’s such a beautiful idea!

The founder of Earth Day , Ira Einhorn, was a deluded hippie who murdered his girlfriend in Philadelphia. He kept her body in a locked trunk, inside a locked closet in his Philly Apartment for years! Great compost! Ah yes…,Father Earth Einhorn.

When the body was discovered, and Einhorn was arrested, his Defense Lawyer was no less than our illustrious retired Senator Arlen Spector. Arlen arranged bail for the murderer Einhorn. Einhorn fled the country and lived a fine life abroad for YEARS! If you want to know more GOOGLE the JERK(with)OFF Ira Einhorn. UGH!

I honor EARTH DAY by putting EVERY light in my home ON as soon as I wake up! I run my dishwasher, my dryer, and my washer EMPTY simultaneously!
All hail EARTH DAY and it’s founder…,the idiot Hippie Murderer Ira Einhorn!

I used work four 10 hour days, but then when we got a new boss .. a democrat, and liberal democrat to boot, he made me work 5 days a week 8 hrs a day.

Plus I wonder how many EPA people will ask to work from home and how many requests will she approve.

I save energy where I choose to and since I am paying the bill I consume energy as I wish even if its not always in the most efficient manner. I like a nice, steaming hot shower in the morning and some days I take an extra few minutes. I believe life is to be enjoyed and if a hot shower starts my day off better that‘s what I’m going to do.

I also have a very bad view of the EPA. In my opinion, they are the most tyrannical of the Federal Government agencies. So, taking a hot shower is also a bit of a rebellion. One more reason to smile.

Love it. Lisa flies to Paris for an EPA meeting. ( Guess they didn’t go to New Delhi because their airport is often closed due to air pollution from the gazillion family fires they burn each days – not from cars ! ) Ha. Guess that is why the Democrat Marxists haven’t improved our economy : they figure that no jobs, means no commuting ! Cuts down on capitalism. Saves gas ! Cuts down on pollution Then we won’t need to drill either ! See : the Democrat Marxists are so environmentally focused ! Oh, those Marxists …..

Set on the anniversary of the birthday of Karl Marx.

But, that’s all just a coincidence. Really. The founders of Earth Day were NOT avowed communists. Really.

So sorry – I meant Lenin:

“Lenin was born Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov in Simbirsk (now Ulyanovsk), Russia, on April 22, 1870 (April 10 in the Julian calendar). Living in Simbirsk until the age of 17, Lenin was the son of ….”

Here is a little about the founding of Earth Day:

Originally by noted leftist Senator Gaylord Nelson – then on March 21.

      Moved to April 22 – coincidentally coinciding with the 100th anniversary of Lenin – by leading antiwar (Vietnam) activists, including Denis Hayes, who (then, in 1970 ~~~ FORTY YEARS AGO !!!) was a huge solar power advocate and was pushing to replace organic energy creation with solar power. {{NOTE: it’s now 40 years later, and this pipe dream remains just that}}

The keynote speaker and entertainer was Singer/songwriter Pete Seger:

America’s Most Successful Communist (Pete Seeger):
      By Howard Husock, Summer 2005

“The Popular Front sought to enlist Western artists and intellectuals, some of them not party members but “fellow travelers,” to use art, literature, and music to insinuate the Marxist worldview into the broader culture. … It’s an irony that communists should seek to change the culture, of course, since Marxism holds that culture is merely a reflection of underlying economic structures, whose transformation will bring about capitalism’s inevitable collapse.”

Fair enough. It happens to also be Lenin’s birthday. Big deal. Lenin and Marx were two very different people. Lenin did not try to institute a true communist system in the Soviet Union. He wanted an authoritarian dictatorship. Karl Marx believed in democracy, not dictatorship. Marx and Engels always stressed that a true worker’s revolution was only possible with individual freedoms like freedom of speech and freedom of the press. You should actually read some of their works, rather than listen to capitalist propaganda against it.

I really detest the EPA, the greenies, the global warming freaks, the liars, in general. People need to look into the history of ‘earth day.’ Quite fascinating. I will be using plastic forks, paper plates; and putting my leftovers in a styrofoam container on ‘earth day.’ Oh, and I will be burning gasoline, running my furnace or AC; which ever is appropriate that day. Think I’ll use a whole roll of toilet paper and leave all my lights on that day.
