Atheist Dating Sites Offer Non-Believers the Chance to Meet Other ‘Freethinkers’

These days there are dating sites tailored to various faith traditions and interests. The Christians have Christian Mingle and the Jews have JDate – and these are only two examples. So, considering the fact that specific faith groups have very tailored websites to go and meet others who share their worldview, one wonders — what platforms do atheists have?

It turns out, there are a number of dating web sites geared toward assisting non-believers in finding others who share their refusal to accept the existence of a higher power. Take, for instance, “Atheist Passions,” a web site that proudly proclaims, “You have a better chance of finding Waldo on this site than you do of finding God!”

Atheist Passions describes itself as “a free online dating & social networking site specifically for freethinking singles, either Atheist or Agnostic.” The web site offers a chat room, message boards and plenty more. Here‘s a screen shot from the site’s main page (note the image of Jesus hanging on a clothes line — likely to be offensive to Christian believers):

And if that site doesn‘t suit atheists’ dating needs, there’s also FreeThinkerMatch, which claims to be the “fastest growing relationship site on the web.” At the time I was writing this, there were only five users online and using the platform. Now, I know that atheists are a minority in American society, but I’d assume, pending the site’s claim about growth were true, that there would be more people using the platform.

On FreeThinkerMatch, “Hanna,” a woman who found and wanted to share her success story, writes the following:

Wow, I never thought I’d be writing one of those cheesy internet dating site success stories, but I’m just so thankful I feel I should.

I met my boyfriend Kevin on this site almost a year ago- I emailed him through the site and got the silliest, greatest response a few days later. After having dated too many men who mistreated me and never challenged me intellectually I’d found the perfect guy. Other dating sites had felt akin to searching for a few gems in a sea of turds, but I found Kevin the first night I browsed on here. Thank you!!!

Last but not least, there’s the “Atheist Dating Service,” which has one of the more attractive websites (when it comes to the look and feel, at least). This particular service offers visitors a warm welcoming message: “Meet someone for a deity free romance today! Join other local non-believing singles in their quest for a God free relationship.”

Here’s a screen shot:

There are even Facebook communities popping up that are tailored to atheists’ dating needs:

All of these sites share one common theme and purpose — they bring together non-believers so that they can formulate relationships free of references to and debates over a higher power.

Regardless of where one stands on atheism, it’s certainly an interesting concept and one that shows the growing trend of niche new media platforms.

He77, I don’t know any atheists personally, so I guess I‘ll have to take Hanna’s word who is featured in the success story above… “Other dating sites had felt akin to searching for a few gems in a sea of turds,…”

I’m assuming that the other atheist sites contain these turds? Because I‘m sure they’re competing against each other for business.

He doesn’t live in a cloud, but that it is more “SciFi” than that. Think dimensional and other planets far far away. But the Bible is the Line by lines, and step by steps in order to get your soul to that point, because anything else would be the same thing as spoiling a child with many things whereby he wouldn‘t be happy because many things would be the starting point for happiness in the child’s mind and heart as he and after he became an adult.

Atheism stems for a belief in Stoic-Sophism and the dialectic method. The apostle Paul warned these end times would wind up with many being taken prisoner by this doctrine. Most atheists have no idea that their faith is base in Stoic-Sophism. The deception proposed by the Stoic-Sophists is so cleverly disguised that it is difficult to detect their true intent.

All of these things must rise to the top and most people will fall prey to them, its what leads to the following of the fake Christ. less than 17 years from this point in time. There is a global attempt to achieve the Stoic-Sophist based one world order. That is contrived of a single socialists government with no sovereign countries. The Stoic-Sophists believe this system will bring about world peace. It will fail in its attempt of assembly as the only prophesied peaceful global government is that of the fake Jesus (Satan), which occurs just after the war with Iran (Daniel 8 and 11 then 7, the Rev 13 and 17).
Our Father told all people in the book of Ezekiel that he was going to put on a pot an boil it until the dross and **** rose to the top (that all your man made doctrines and beliefs). Then he will destroy that dross and **** from among us with the return of the true Christ who finds all people on the earth worshiping Satan who is deceiving them as the Fake Christ.
Satan is not coming with a pitch fork, he is coming as Jesus Christ to deceive the entire world into worshiping him.

I think The Blaze is carrying the story because they are “Equal Opportunity” and not because they are attacking it, but individual people posting are attacking it. And just the fact that atheists don’t recognize that thing shows that they are not really “Thinkers” after-all. See! Now where’s that plague?

But it is kind of interesting isn‘t it that atheists don’t believe in a higher authority and yet they need someone to “Love” don’t you think….thinkers? And some how you have want to be two rather than one, don’t you think….thinkers? And I‘m not attacking atheists but that I can’t deny my own eyes, but two is greater than one, and it is a higher authority.

And again I’m not attacking, but that I can not deny my own eyes when I see two atheists want to have a child together. But why do they want to have a child together if they don’t have want of a higher authority to bond them together, something they both have a common ground in, a child conceived in love?

“It is appointed unto every man a measure of faith.” There is not such thing as an atheist, only people who claim such. I believe people have lost their way and the measure of faith within them has diminished to near zero. The primary reason for atheism is to justify man’s rules. They believe if GOD does not exist their is no sin and therefore no penatly in life or death for such. It is a pale attempt to allay guilt even though they say otherwise. They are not totally honest.
I find it ever more ironic how atheist organizations seem to have some unflatering depiction of Christ in an attempt to denounce Christianity. I have yet to see an atheist group bad mouth or insult mohamad, islam, or any number of other religions with the veracity and visciousness they do Christianity. I personnally do not care if you claim that you do not believe in GOD, god, gods, godesses, demons, satan or allah. If you make such claims you should be willing and unafraid to bash hindus, wickans, Islam and muslims sas vigorously as Christianity. One point however, Christians are not known for blowing up cars and beheading people for feable insults of their beliefs.
The Word of GOD, The Bible, is eternal.

It amuses me how atheists call themselves “freethinkers”. Where did they get their ability to “free think” from? Nature?
Self-awareness, free-will, and the ability to rationally think over instinctively think seems to separate humans from the animals. Trillions of species of life on earth, we are the only ones. No animal before us, no animal since.
I guess this means that the atheists “freethinkers” *think* we are nothing more than a freak of nature.

      ————————————————————————————————————————————-
I have serious weakness when it comes to confrontation. It’s a pathetic excuse and I readily admit I lean on it as a crutch, but turning the other cheek isn‘t something I’m real good at after growing up in the inner city where getting to and from school without running into gang members with bad intentions was a rare day. My dad who is a strong Christian and the best man I know this side of Jesus always taught us boys to never start a fight, but don’t ever run from one either, and we’d better finish it.

I guess the moral of the story is that, for a long time people have hidden themselves behind Christ because they are simply not fighters. There’s maybe nothing wrong with that except I read Christ as anything but wanting cowards. There are going to be times when Gods children are going to have to stand their ground with no way out except to fight or maybe die.

We all serve different purposes in the body of Christ. I tend toward Josiah, Gideon, and Joshua.
