Why do you think this administration was so upset when the supreme court of Honduras ordered the army to remove the president for violating the constitution?

This president appointed thirty people(Czars) to study the federal agencies and provide the senate and congress with rule changes for these executive agencies that would give them(executive agencies) the power to make law. By the passage of those laws, the president, senate and house members violated the separation of powers mandated by the constitution.

Every day I watch the world news, I get more and more uneasy. Any one manages to start an uprising, Left or Right. UN troops will be patrolling our streets and our republic for all intents and purposes will be dead. We are not battling a few radicals in elected office. Its us against the world.

You are not listening to Glenn. Glenn has had a few spots now that has talked about the difference between “Manifest Destiny” and “Divine Province”. You REALLY should become an insider and listen to his past recording about these two ways of thinking. What you posted is an example of “Manifest Destiny”. As Glenn put it…GOD is NOT on our side. WE have to be on HIS side!!!!
America did horrible injustices based on “manifest destiny”. If we turn to violence, we will lose. We have to be patient and trust the lord. We have won. We just have to remain on God’s side. Violence is NOT God’s side!

Calm down. Even if we did have a liberal court it wouldn’t mean the end of Republic. The Supreme court issues Opinions, not laws. Pretend they passed an Opinion that was contrary to the will of the Congress and hence the people. Congress can just fail to enforce or fund it. It’s happened before.

Do you think our Founders wanted a system by which the will of the public was decided by only 9 people? Or however many reside on the Supreme court at any time?

There is also the list of those that voted yes on the obamanation healthcare bill. They all need to be charged with deraliction of duty for voting for a bill they did not read or ecrutinize. A violation of the oath of office

I will not re-state my opinions of mr obama, but he has publicly denounced the constitution of the united states on more than one occasion. = Violation of oath of office

Mr Obama and the Progressives are making one final attempt to bypass the desires and will of the people by seeking to stack the courts with Radicals and Progressives. With all due hope this move will simply fall apart – for if even one judge is removed, and the court falls to a 4-4 decision on most of the cases, especially ones made by the activist and progressive judges of lower courts for the government, then those rulings shall stand and become effectively the new law of the land.

I agree, wholeheartedly, with Untamable Kate! Lifetime appointments, whether they are in the Supreme Court or Congress, are hurting…not helping. (Before there is an uproar about lifetime appointments in Congress, think Killer Kennedy, Robert Byrd, Patty Murray ,Barney Frank, etc.)

He has no case against Roberts and he knows it. He‘s only obfuscating the real issues that he’s running away from (his poor performance as a congressman).

But “bring it on” as they say! While we’re looking into one of the best justices to come along in many years, why not have a look at a few other decisions that have been made recently. We can start with DC v. Heller, where Ginsburg and Stevens couldn’t have strayed further from the plain language in the Constitution. Now that’s a clear violation of their oath to defend the Constitution. Or how about Ginsburg’s breathtaking admission that “a too strict jurisprudence of the Framers’ original intent seems too unworkable”?

Yes… unworkable for someone who is attempting to subvert our laws through judicial caveat rather than winning elections.

And while were there, let’s do a thorough review of what’s been promised, sworn and then abandoned by a few others… (Read Mark Levin’s “Men In Black” for a magnificent case against judicial activism.) I say it should be common in our Constitutional Republic to bring action against any judge who legislates from the bench, directly through Articles Of Impeachment – most especially against judges who pontificate using international laws to influence our court (like Ginsburg and Stevens have both endorsed).

NO, Congressman… You’re fooling no one with this charade.

By the way, did you know about DeFasio’s other little piece of handy work the good congressman pulled off on Monday at a debate? Go to http://www.artrobinsonforcongress.com for a thorough review of what this despicable man did to a would-be citizen legislator by conspiring to keep Robinson’s supporters out of the venue and rigging an audience in his favor.

An impeachment probe should be launched against Barack Obama…

During this deep economic recession, this president has just donated $100 billion over the next few years to the Global Fund… Our federal government cannot afford to offer our senior citizens a measly cost of living adjustment on their Social Security payments for two years straight; yet, we can send $100 billion to the Global Fund to help others around the world… Of course, this was done under the radar.

Now Barack Obama has just signed a document, again under the radar, authorizing the arrival of 80,000 new immigrants mostly from Muslim countries in 2011. Obama states on this document that this is “out of humanitarian concerns and in the interest of the nation.” In the interest of the nation? With one in eight Americans living on Food Stamps and 15 million Americans unemployed, how on earth could this be “in the interest of the nation”?

This country is being turned upside down…

This effort is without basis. AFAIK. They want to hold a sitting justice accountable for statements made at their confirmation, as if they are binding commitments for the rest of their judicial careers?

Pity they don’t view the Constitution with the same laved of sacred consistency…

Any chance we can get the politicians on the left to extend this “logic” to campaign promises?

OK, a few factual pieces of red meat:

From The Daily Kos, which in turn grabbed it from The Huffington Post:

“DeFazio is doing so based on two points.

Justice Roberts‘ testimony during the 2005 confirmation hearings and Justice Stevens’ Dissenting Opinion in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission.

In short, Roberts swore not to be an activist Justice and to follow the traditions of the Court. Justice Stevens dissent clearly demonstrates that Roberts did neither.”

So what we have here is that DeFazio is going after SCOTUS Chief Justice Roberts based largely on the dissenting opinion of Associate Justice Stevens because Stevens felt that the court should not have heard the case, and the court expanded the case beyond what was brought before it.

Wow, is this the first time an Associate Justice disagreed with the Chief Justices’s decision to hear a case? I think not.

Is this the first time an Associate Justice felt the Chief Justice expanded the scope of a case beofre the court? I think not.

What is unusual is that Chief Justice Roberts said, under oath, that he wouldn’t do either (as he referred to it at the time, he said he wouldn’t be an “Activist Judge”), and this Congressman has decided to draw some attention to himself with his “investigation” into impeachment proceedings – oddly timed to be announced before, but acted on, before one of the most contentious mid-term elections in years. How strange!

But what is odd, is that they want to charge a sitting Supreme Court Chief Justice with and impeachemnt on the grounds of perjury, based on testimony provided in his confirmation hearing. For those of you, like me, that aren’t legal scholars, here is the best, most accesible definition of perjury I could find – I encourage you to look for a better definition if this one doesn’t suit your needs:

“In order for a person to be found guilty of perjury the government must prove: the person testified under oath before [e.g., the grand jury]; at least one particular statement was false; and the person knew at the time the testimony was false.”

      Source: http://www.lectlaw.com/def2/p032.htm

What is fascinating is the REQUIREMENT that the “person knew at the time the testemony was false” – how will Congressman DeFazio PROVE that then-nominee Roberts KNEW not only that Citizens United was going to come before the supreme Court, but that he would also (in the opinion of Associate Justice Stevens at least) expand the scope of that case?

Seriously, how will Congressman DeFazio prove those two claims are true?

Does this remind anyone of Rep. Conyers “mock impeachment trial” in the basement of the Capital?

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Can_a_US_Supreme_Court_justice_be_impeached_and_removed_from_office the irony here is the last official calls for impeachment were in the late 50s, to oust justices accused of fosterimg COMMUNISM and trying to MAKE laws from the bench!! but, the good news is, a SUPER majority of the senate would be needed to actually impeach a judge 67 votes! that being said, its just a very sad disgusting display of desperation by democrats to alter the political make-up of the Highest court in the land, knowing full well that they will NOT retain majority status after Nov 2, and dashing ALL hopes of changing the Supreme GUARD!! also, a few months ago, there was a collective pledge by the CONSERVATIVE Judges to NOT retire Until OBAMA is out of office!
