Author Blasts ‘White Right’ and Their ‘Recent, Successful Temper Tantrum’

Writer Tim Wise has a message for white conservatives: “You need to drink up. And quickly. And heavily. Because your time is limited. Real damned limited.”

Wise, the author of race-related books such as Colorblind and Between Barack and a Hard Place, published “An Open Letter to the White Right, On the Occasion of Your Recent, Successful Temper Tantrum” on his blog the day after last week’s elections. In it, he mocks white conservatives as “y’all rich folks” drinking champagne and scotch, and “y’all a bit lower on the economic scale“ enjoying ”whatever sh***y ass beer you favor,“ and accuses them of wanting to go back to an era of racism and hoping to turn the world ”into [their] personal casino.”

“I know, you think you’ve taken ‘your country back’ with this election,” Wise writes, “and of course you have always thought it was yours for the taking, cuz that’s what we white folks are bred to believe, that it’s ours, and how dare anyone else say otherwise — but you are wrong.”

Wise, who is white, goes on to compare white conservatives to “the bad guy in every horror movie ever made, who gets shot five times, or stabbed ten, or blown up twice, and who will eventually pass.”

On Sunday, he appeared on CNN to defend his post:

    Equality means that we all take care of ourselves, able bodied people work and pay for housing, food, transportation, health care, and then pay for luxuries, not the other way around. That the needy, not the greedy are cared for by the local people and the churches. The blogger thinks that progressive means to get rid of civil rights and environmental laws (some of them like CO2 that grows our food are ridiculous). The first civil rights act was proposed by Republican Eisenhower in 1957, but was weakened by the Democrats who opposed civil rights.

    Kennedy’s 1964 civil rights legislation (yea-nays) – Note that a higher percentage of Republicans votes FOR the legislation every time

    We old white conservatives are a champion of civi rights, which is why most of us are color blind, fufilling MLK’s dream. We do not believe in keeping minorities down with government nanny state handouts that impoverishes their spirit and well as their wallet.

      Thank you! When Barack Obama was campaigning for Pres I used to try to tell people that this “post racial” stuff was nonesense……..too many little tells–like his Grandmother’s typical white person remark!! I lived through the 60s once and I did not want to live through all of the name calling and propaganda again!! But here we are, and alot of our young people who were not around in MLK days buy into the lies….so sad that most of the time we have to learn things the hard way!!

    Allen is impressive. Don Lemon. MMM, My first time seeing him on air. Looks like CNN finally picked a winner. Well that is if this is the way he is going to do interviews. Thought i was watching Fox there for a second.

    If you don’t agree with the far left then obviously you are a racist. Plainly saying that the government is spending too much is because you are a racist. To say that the Federal government is going too far when it attempts to take over health care is because you are a racist. To be against any more stimulus packages because they are a waste of money is because you are a racist. To want the Federal government to be fiscally responsible is because you are a racist.
    Because of the reasons I gave above I am obviously a racist. SO WHAT?

    With the Democrats having failed at just about everything they have put their handprint on under Obama, they find themselves grasping for straws or for anything to help keep them from going over the political cliff. Race is always a hot topic justifiably or not. Uusally not, but when cockroaches are up against they will grab anything that will help them. America is sick of this administration, the mid-terms showed that, so in their only defense they will bring up a convenient crutch, RACE. Completely out of date and it hardly applies but it just goes to show how desperate these socialists are. Its not going to work, but of course we will have to listen to such rubbish right up to 2012 when we truly take America back in the right direction again.

    Congressman Alan West, lovely words! He is right on point to say that anyone can take anything out of context and skew to make a point. This Tim Wise character (what a name) doesn’t have a clue about the conservative- he does know a lot about propaganda. As a “right conservative” I believe in carrying your own weight. Wow, that is scary isn’t it? If you take care of you and I take care of me, NOBODY can manipulate you or me. Period. I look forward to observing Congressman West in DC. He speaks for a heck of a lot of us knuckledraggers who believe in earning your own way. Godspeed sir.

      Maybe what we need is a commie Hall of Fame, A place to post the pictures of their good works along with their famous founders. A place where the average Joe can scan their pictures and see face to face the evil. They should all be famous and easily recognized.       Yep, we are all racist. These people never crawl out of thier holes long enough to see that the reason people like the fifties is that it was a time of traditional families that stayed together and the dad went to work, the mom stayed home and raised the children and made dinner for the family, the kids went to school and didn’t take a gun then came home and did thier chores and homework then went outside to play. Now the dads run away from home in alot of cases when things get tough, the moms are working all the time or are not connected to thier kids who are looking at porn or foolishness on the internet unsupervised. Why wouldn’t everyone be nostalgic for times like that. Oh yeah, don’t forget that the republicans were working thier butts off for civil rights.

    Is the book “Atlas Shrugged” racist?

    The book, “ATLAS SHRUGGED” by Ayn Rand was published in 1957. The book refutes tyranny, including Mr. Obama’s particular brand of oppression. She proves conclusively that individual freedom is the basis for prosperity and that tyranny produces only poverty and despair. Individual freedom, of course is in direct conflict with the “CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN” and all of Mr. Obama’s programs.

    Was “ATLAS SHRUGGED” racist when it was published in 1957 or did it become racist when Obama elected President? Perhaps, “ATLAS SHRUGGED became a racist book when we learned what Mr. Obama’s “CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN” actually is?

      Mr Wite simply shows off his bigotry and support for the sheer tyranny of the Progressives, and we the people of America are indeed taking the fight against the Progressives to undo the damages they have inflicted over the last century.       This guy is a very sad sad man. He has probable never talked to white person on the right. The white right has always been the ones who have stood with the blacks (Starting with good old Abe). The left started the KKK, the left started segregation, the left blocked civil rights and the left write the history books to cover it all up. When the left found out they could not stop the white right and the blacks they started using the blacks. The right would like all people to be equal and all people have the same opportunities. The left want all people to be poor and enslaved to a Government for their own power (Lenin, Stalin and Mao). How does he explain the black right members?
