Posted on December 1, 2010 at 7:10amThe reason is because we have enemies among us.
People in the government , Sate Department ect that hate our current system and seek to undermine and destroy from within.
We need to cleanse from the “inside out , bottom up and top down to borrow a phrase”
I often wonder if the military could serve a role in restoring and resetting , You know…throw down some barbed wire around

How can he be tried if the government either doesn’t have the will or the intelligence to bring him to justice. I don’t see how you can justify these treasonous actions in a time of war. Exposing classified information has so many unintended consequences on so many levels that it negates the benefits of exposing the truth at least in this situation. Wikileaks is definitely guilty of willfully putting americans and our allies in danger. Just common sense. It makes our security measures the laughing stock of the world and destroys respect and trust from those that would otherwise be willing to disclose sensitive valuable information. Too great a risk when an informant is already risking their lives and family members for instance.

Are you standing up for a computer hacker from Australia whom is trafficking in secret US diplomatic material? I am not, and think he should have been assasinated. “Are you letting Holder define who the real bad guys are?” Eric Holder does not know what is even going on…when he wanted to have a trial of terrorists on American soil. Eric Holder chose not to prosecute voter intimidation laws. I hope you are not silly enough to even defend that. “Why doesn’t this effing adminstration get its act together instead of always placing the blame for their incompetence on others?” That statement makes no sense. This administration has no desire to get itself together. Actually, they are together. THEY WANT TO DESTROY OUR COUNTRY, AND ARE WELL ON THEIR WAY. All the media. I can’t pick and choose like the hypocritical liberals, can I? I never said Assange should not be prosecuted for espionage. I said, good luck, since Assange published the leaks in collusion with the NYT.
“Eric Holder does not know what is even going on…”
Why are you preaching to the choir? You are the one who agrees with Holder that Assange is the enemy, not me.
[Why doesn’t this effing adminstration get its act together instead of always placing the blame for their incompetence on others?] “That statement makes no sense.”
Geez, Dave, I was talking from the diplomatic point of view. It is obvious you have never read any of my comments, not even on this thread. Of course Obama & Co. want to destroy America, but as you well know, they ARE very concerned about their [not America's] image abroad.
Didn’t the new TSA regulations teach you anything? A terrorist was the excuse for violating the 4th Amendment, and a hacker will be the excuse to regulate freedom of speech/the media. Stop shouting at me, Dave, and learn to play the game. You are not being consistent.

I differ in opinion however, regarding Assange being “media”. His intent is to cause instability and anarchy in the world. I think his trafficking in secret State Documents makes him fair game to be treated as a spy. The fact that the NYT also felt it necessary to publish is clearly wrong and actionable but, does not mitigate a defense of Assange. A free press is essential, although the new FCC head thinks differently but, in my opinion Assange is not “media”

I have read nothing that could endanger the life of anyone in those papers. Where a potential threat to the life or safety of a person might exist, Wikileaks redacted the information. The whole “He’s risking millions of American lives!”-shtick was just politicians trying to find a reason to stop Wikileaks and, ultimately, save their own face. The Tea Party is supposed to be against politicians doing stuff like this. Assange should be your hero.

Posted on December 1, 2010 at 8:25amWow, Mossbrain, you actually posted something worth responding to – it just took you a couple of hours. Sure, there is information in the massive leak that opens up insight into our government but Royalstar is right – there is also information that has the potential to putting our men and women in the armed services at risk as well as the nation as a whole. Even if the leaked information exposes the Obama Administration, or any Administration, as incompetent or weak that is not a good thing for our country. To have our enemies as well as our allies to see the ugly underbelly of America only hurts America and anyone who betrays their country in this manner should never walk freely on its soil ever again. Wikileaks has an objective that I submit is to destroy America and that is something our government should take seriously.

If I were Assange’s lawyer, I’d question why it took the Obama admin several doc. dumps and all those months to press criminal charges. Furthermore, why were the three newspapers that worked in collusion with Wikileaks not charged?
As for respect and trust, it’s spin. Neither the Afghans nor the Pakistanis trust or respect the Obama admin. They know he’ll start pulling out in 2011. So do al-Qaeda and the Taliban. Tell me, who in the whole wide world respects this guy? Do you?
Wikileaks may be Obama’s new whipping boy, but I doubt the Obama admin can prove that they hindered our success in the Afghan-Pak region in any significant way. I place greater blame on Obama’s ROE, the McChrystal scandal, the civilian casulties resulting from massive drone bombing w hich has turned the people against us, and Obama’s wimpy personality.
Assange is just one more far-left, anti-war, anti-American activist. So are Michael Hastings, Michael Moore, Bill Mahr, the NYT and Obama himself. Refocus on the Traitor to this country, America. Please.

Posted on December 1, 2010 at 9:38amMossbrain, it really makes me wonder what perspective you must be coming from if you think it is logical to portray Wikileaks as a potential double edged sword that can actually be used to protect America and to protect our American values.
A hypothetical scenario where Wikileaks exposes investigations and espionage against the Tea Party does not demonstrate that “government haters” support the espionage. If you follow your logic and apply it to something else, then you also must think that the 911 attacks maybe might have possibly also murdered a serial killer. So if you are against terroist attacks, then you must also be supporting the serial killers who could have potentially maybe been a victim of the attack.

Posted on December 1, 2010 at 2:32amI agree, this stuff was not obtained in a legal way.
However if there is a reveal that shows ANY wrong doing or ANY war crime we the people have a right and a need to know about it. This stuff does not need to stay classified for the next 60 years.
We still to this day have an almost yearly release of stuff from WWII. There has been nothing I can recall that shows a list of troops who committed crimes who were let off by a commander to protect the publics perception of the war but if there was and if they were still alive I’d hope they would be charged with something.
The American people are ready for both of these wars to be over.
We can no longer afford them and honestly with the internal conflicts that are coming from with in by the individual sects let them handle things themselves.
With nearly 14 trillion in debt a bit of isolationism and some investigations into leadership of the military and the govt may be good for us.

Without that, all we have is some embarrassed politicians that are upset about confidential information being publicized. Sure, world leaders and others will be reluctant to divulge information to the state department if they feel what they say will be in the New York Times-but this sort of exposing of confidential information has occurred and will continue. Trying to put a stop to it has its limits in a free society. Posted on December 1, 2010 at 10:49amHey y’all…It is time to look very carefully at our intentions and the realities of the present conundrum.
The U.S.’s image in the world is so benevolent. Our leaders are so trustworthy. RIGHT? HA!!
America, the former “breadbasket of the world”, is now the arms supplier of the world. America, the moral icon is now an abortionist, homosexual, careless icon of depravity. Materialism is our god…mammon. we feed our children to the fiire…moloch. Hedonism is our desire…Baal.
All the way through the old testament, God judged entire nations(mainly Israel) by their leaders. Sure there were some God fearing people there, but when it came to it, they went into captivity right along with the heathens, did they not?
Our leaders have been dining at the captains table for generations and the bill WILL be paid.
When we kept our head in the game and tried to do things right, we did fine. We fell to greed and lust and we will reap what we have sown.
The condition of our political system illustrates the baseness of our modern way of thinking. Who do YOU trust? When I hear a politican, of any stripe, I look for ulterior motives and If I can’t find them, I am sure its because he is too slick for me.
It took 230 years to take the ideas of liberty and trust In God to our current state which is entitlements and the culture of death that we labor under today.
So, now here on this site, murder is being discussed…..What? Disregard the laws of God, if you will, and pay for it.

Posted on December 1, 2010 at 8:07pm“Why are we so reluctant to kill people who need killing?”
Because the progressives have managed to turn a large part of our society into sissies and girly-men.

I find the reasons to off these people are valid. If we were talking about one person, or one group of people, I could see your point. My problem is… this may put our entire nation in danger and this country is worth saving. Throughout our history we have had presidents that had to take extreme measures because of extreme circumstances for the good of the nation as a whole. This is one of those circumstances. IMHO.

Posted on December 1, 2010 at 9:02pmDid some of you miss where Thor said “If he’s found guilty he should get the death penalty”? Death is the current penalty for being a traitor. He’s talking about the PFC, not the Aussie. The PFC needs a military trial followed by a bullet. We’d have less people willing to try to destroy the country if it would harm them. They’re a butch of cowards
NYTimes? yep. Traitors. Should be in prison.
The politicians saying garbage behind peoples backs? You aren’t really shocked are you?

Because the Hostage-taker, the one pointing a gun to their head, that’s holding the patient, has been shot in the shoulder and is still standing.
To All:
In some cases Mr. Thor’s solution has merit but everything has a price to pay. there are other ways to deal with individuals or organizations but they take time, thus, requires…. patience and finesse. The truth prevails but not without casualties. This government of appeasement and college-educated/reality disconnected/in-the-box thinkers would not sanction it unless directed here at home. “They”, out there, terrorists, Wiki-whatever, Educational Institutions, Union leaders, Uber-Left, radical thinkers & do-ers, extremists are not the enemy; We The People are – very sad indeed. (See Homeland Security report) Thus, our control is more important than what happens beyond our borders, or on our borders.
Prior & During WWII a generation awakened to the task to do a great and terrible thing; root out evil as evil was left unchecked and good men did nothing. A response was required. God called a generation to step up and with strong hearts routed evil and that generation, with America leading, did it— with gusto! A lot of people, countries, have forgotten these facts and dismiss it because of the times we’re in. Can the UN lead us like that? G20? Security Council? I don’t think so as I think and will think,” 2 + 2 = 4″
Wiki-whatever is just the tip of the iceberg heading toward us through the fog….. and we’re heading straight for it at 20 knots. Can we round the berg? Time and reliance on Almighty God will tell the tale. We just need to remember to keep history honest & correct for somewhere a Republic of honor and freedom MUST stand to be the anchor of the world.

Posted on December 6, 2010 at 3:34amHOW ABOUT ALL THE STUFF THE ISRAELIES HAVE STOLEN FROM US OVER THE YEARS…where is the reprocussions of that…they steal weapons technology from us at will and turn around and sell it to the Chinese…why do we not get up in arms about any of that.
Or the fact that the EURO space agency works witht the Chinese on various projects basically upgrading their weapons capability…UAV’s for instance…China is developing a jet powered one thanks to who? the Euro space agency…we are loosing our edge…God help us, because once the Commies get more advanced then us we could have us a major conventional war on our hands.

….then simply have him killed and make it look like an accident…write a nice suicide note or make it look like a simple car crash off a cliff…
