Author: Religious Populations Will ‘Inherit the Earth’

Deseret News:

Question: Who will inherit the earth? Answer: Whoever has the most children, says Eric Kaufmann, professor of politics at the University of London.

During an American Enterprise Institute event, Kaufmann explained how declining birthrates in secular societies and rising birthrates in religious societies are changing the world’s population.

This trend, “over even a short span of time, (is) going to lead to a substantial shift in the population,” says Kaufmann in a video of his remarks.

The event, titled “Demography and Religion: Toward a World of True Believers?” focused on the research in Kaufmann’s book, “Shall the Religious Inherit the Earth?: Demography and Politics in the Twenty-First Century”.

“In the race for souls, demography counts for more than eloquence. And demographic reality is very much slanted against secularism: what no one has noticed is that far from declining, the religious are expanding their share of the population because secular birthrates have plunged below replacement,” says Kaufmann’s website regarding his research.

    Everyone in the religious sects’ are doing all they can to have the most members. Muslim’s are reproducing at a very rapid rate. My idea of what will happen is that they will overpopulate and end up having to eat their off springs to survive. They don’t care, life means nothing to them.

      I have read all comments here and I think we should actually read what God’s word the Bible says about who will inherit the earth.
      Psalms 37:1 Do not show yourself heated up because of the evildoers.
      Do not be envious of those doing unrighteousness.
      2 For like grass they will speedily wither,
      And like green new grass they will fade away.
      3 Trust in Jehovah and do good;
      Reside in the earth, and deal with faithfulness.
      4 Also take exquisite delight in Jehovah,
      And he will give you the requests of your heart.
      5 Roll upon Jehovah your way,
      And rely upon him, and he himself will act.
      6 And he will certainly bring forth your righteousness as the light itself,
      And your justice as the midday.
      7 Keep silent before Jehovah
      And wait longingly for him.

      At the man carrying out [his] ideas.
      8 Let anger alone and leave rage;
      Do not show yourself heated up only to do evil.

      And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be.
      11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth,
      And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

      @BEARFOOT–PSALMS is in the old testament-no-also that is exactly what I said “THE MEEK SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH” does that include you BEARFOOT-I’m sure it does-RIGHT–post meddler.My Bible say’s the +LORD+ it does not say JEHOVAH,a BEARFOOT is nothing compared to a LION FOOT+ read the Bible all you want,having a relationship with +JESUS+ is all that matters,problem with that also BEARFOOT.

      I think Christos is reacting to the name of God, Jehovah.
      If he has a old King James Version he can find God’s name at four places; Psalms 83:18, Exodus 6:3, Isaiah 12:2, 26:4
      Also, the old American Standard Version uses God’s name throughout.

    I find it interesting that people will scramble after a book written by a man and not read the letter our Father wrote them? I guess our Father hit the nail on the head in the prophecy of Isaiah

    Our present bodies will be replaced for an eternal body. We know that we, if we are filled with God’s Spirit we are the temple of God. Peter in 2 Peter 1: 13-14 says, Yea I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath showed me. In 2 Cor 5:5 where it says he has given us the “earnest of the Spirit,” compares to what Paul says in Ephesians 1:13-14 where he says that the Spirit is the Spirit of promise which you are sealed with is the “earnest of your inheritance.” The phrase, “earnest of your inheritance” means that the Spirit that you received is a down payment or a deposit for what is to come, your total redemption! You are promised a new body, a new earth, a New Jerusalem. Some day we will live on the new earth in our new bodies and be able to go in and out of the New Jerusalem. Are you sealed with the Spirit of Promise? Do you have the “earnest of your inheritance?

    In John chapter 14 and verse 2 Jesus say’s “ In my father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you . I go to prepare a place for you .”
    What could these mansions be? The Apostle’s Peter and Paul give some insight to what our mansion will be . Paul , in 2 Corinthians 5 : 1-8 States , For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved , we have a building of God , a house not made by hands , eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan , being burdened : not for that we should be unclothed , but clothed upon , that mortality might be swallowed up in life . Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God , who also hath given us the earnest of the Spirit . Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight :) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
    From the above scripture we can see that our mansions are a reference to our new and glorified bodies.

    I didn’t listen to the clip, I just looked at the title of the book which reads “Shall the Religious Inherit the Earth”
    IMO. The Godless fools and their Godless marxist leaders.( Sorry,there were no need for the adjectives ) will inherit the Earth.
    The marxists tells the fools US can keep on spending $$ because our $$ trees will keep growing more $$
    The marxists tells the fools they can keep breeding and breeding even if they don’t know who the fathers are, because there is a never ending supply of $$ to take care of them.
    The marxists tells the fools there will be a never ending supply of doctors because the government will limit their income and because of this, more and more people will want to become doctors.
    Sooo, keep breeding kids you can’t afford, there will be ample supplies of doctors to care for the out of control population.

    Lets see here.

    The cristian, muslim and jewish entitys emerged from the middleast. All books of religion to these religions call for more than one wife to every man to a hareem, polygamy or other. These familys breed out of control within thier religious beliefs. Now after over two thousand years, we now have a population on earth, mainly in the middleast, europe and the west to has grown, in spite the wars that have happened, to today nearly 7 billion and none of us wants to want to remember the causes of the ancient wars was caused by either the governing ruling nations or in the name of religion.
    I do believe in the protections of devine providence, but it is so very hard to follow religious traditions, because one way or another, these same religious institutions around the world will reignite, or already are, thier coming versions to an end of a apocolyps, in one form or another, preaching thier version as to who is the better way to understand GOD.
    You know what, screw them all, because in the end, the meek will be given the world, after all the religious pundits are extinct so that the real children of devine providence can live in a world without these opposing forces.
    You all may not like what I have writen here, but if you think about it, in the end religion by any other name will never have a voice in the scheme to trivial life and no-one religion has the right answers. C’mon, who can really follow a book writen by the hand of man, really!

    And, the marxists, communists, socialists, creepy current administration in the USA are anything but meek, so they won’t.

    Oh, then just because someone is religious they will inherit the earth because the demographics will move that way? I don’t think that is what Jesus meant. Jesus said: If you are neither cold nor hot, but lukewarm, you will be spit out. And Jesus said the meek will inherit the earth. Jesus said to one Pharisee, Jesus asked “Are you blind” and the Pharisee said “No” and Jesus said, “Then your sin remains.“ Therefore it must be that the ”Blind“ are ”Cold” and therefore the meek. Then, it must be that someone who has not been told the truth, or has not been told correctly so that they understand correctly is “The cold.“ And those whom know the truth and try to teach the truth are the righteous and therefore ”The hot.“ Then who is ”The Lukewarm?” The Lukewarm must be those who have been told correctly the truth and out of slothfulness and/or wickedness have not lived for Jesus. And the “Lukewarm” are made up of secular people, and religious people. Just as Religious people are also made up of secular people, blind people, and righteous people. That‘s why Jesus said that ’Even a Greek can enter the Kingdom of Heaven’ through Jesus. Kaufmann has no clue about what it means to inherit the earth.

      Moreover, the state of “Religious” is simply not enough to inherit the earth, because even in a Caliphate, or “Church state” those whom are not deemed worthy are systematically destroyed i.e. Protestants fighting Catholics, and Shiites fighting Sunnis. Therefore even if all were religious, only a very few would be leftover. And that is why I say that a world without the U.S.A will enter the dark ages and the world will tumble out of control with massive chaos until there is few people in the world. Therefore you must see, that some whom are called secular are actually righteous, and some are blind, and many of them are also wicked. Moreover “Spiritual” is spiritual and it doesn’t matter what group created by men they are in.

      “Living” for Jesus is the same as living for Jesus’ “Cross”, moreover “Self Sacrifice.” It simply means sacrificing what you want in the present for a greater good in the future. If you look around, you will hear of the circle of life, and see images such as circles “Zeroes.” These people whom worship the circle of life do not worship Jesus’ cross. Because Jesus’ cross short-circuits the circle of life, and it short-circuits the circle of wealth. Hence: exactly why it is called “Jesus’ Cross.”

    Obviously everyone is forgetting who teaches their children in school here in the U.S. Unless they are home schooled or go to a private Christian school they are indoctrinated by our secular humanist hedonist teachers for 12+ long years into this belief system then into college . Consequently, we end up with progressively (no pun intended) more secular humanist non-producers.

    If Christians in this nation want to continue to inherit the earth they will need to pull their children out of these indoctrination cesspools much sooner than later.

      I hate to break it to you, but it’s not the job of a public school to teach or endorse Christian values. One of the things that amazes me most about this country is that even though some of the Founders may have been Christians, they designed the first truly secular government/society in the history of the world, as laid out by the First Amendment and even more explicitly by Thomas Jefferson’s (in)famous letter to the Danbury Baptists. If you want your child to receive a Christian education, then put them in a Christian school; just don’t demand for a government-funded institution to cater to your own personal beliefs – that’s unconstitutional.

      Also, please don’t be so harsh towards secular humanism. Contrary to what many seem to believe on these message boards, it is possible to be an atheist or agnostic and still be a morally sound person. I happen to know plenty of them myself.

      The Founders never concieved of secular public education, but they were very much in favor of religious education. You do the math.

      And as for moral atheists being a reality. Yes, they exist. But it isn’t atheism that made them moral but the largely Christian culture in which they live. They are like warm stones from a campfire. They can stay warm after the fire has gone out, but not indefinietly. The less religious a culture becomes the more atheism in that culture will reflect an inherent nihilism and callousness because atheism on its own inspires no one to altruism.

      Yes, please pull your children out. Let’s educate liberals and conservatives in different schools. Liberals can study things like science. Conservatives can keep reading whatever scripture it is they think came directly from God.

      At least as it is now, no matter how hard you try to shield your children, they hear different opinions at school than they do at home. Thus, they have a chance to escape the social conservative religious, know-it-all upbringing.

      All higher education is liberal. Basically, all art, all movies, all newspapers, all universities, all literature – almost everything is liberal to one degree or another. Social conservatism is some citation to scripture followed by a proclamation of certainty and an insult about damnation.

    Those who will inherit the earth will be those who survive the great tribulation.
    One group that survives is the remnant of Israel. The other group (I think) are those who come to the saving knowledge of the Truth (Jesus) of God during the great tribulation. After this great tribulation period is over and the 1000 year reign of Jesus Christ begins is when there will be a population explosion.

No one to pay the taxes. God was right about procreation. It is his plan for us to have as many children that we want to have…it’s not a state run program.       One thing people need to realize, that for most of mankinds history, religion has predominated in one form or another among the city-states; tribal and family lines. Only in the last couple of centuries have the true national personalities really been established by arbitrary boundaries on most of the planet.

      One effect that globalization has achieved is the strengthening of the return to all forms of religion in many areas of the world, and no, not always for the better.

      This fact isn’t about religion or politics.

      It boils down to simple mathematics. The saying “there is strength in numbers” is correct. It’s true in religion, politics, ethnic populations, ideologies, land, nature….everything. The more members you have, by conversion and/or replacement rate….the stronger your group is.

      Superior technology contributes to the mathematical equation but it doesn’t necessarily change the end result.

      You can get an edge with higher birth rates, faster growth, bigger guns, better science, more resources, better orators convincing people to join your ranks etc — but in the end it comes down to how many replacements your group has.

      This is no Revelation people
      Its only because most people do not understand the connection between Stoic doctrine and (Communism, Socialism, Progressivism, and Liberation Theology) that they assume these sects do not stand as religious belief. The largest single religious belief in the world is that of Stoic doctrine. The Apostle Paul warned of this occurrence in Colossians chapter 2, after his interaction with those of Stoic doctrine in Acts chapter 17.

      The book of Revelation defines a one world religious system which is assembled by the Anti-Christ (Revelation 9, 11, 13,17). Even Revelation 17 talks of the kings being of “one mind”. It will be just after the war between Ishmael (muslims) and the Christians of the west, over the state of Israel (Daniel 8 and 11), when they discover that they are all of the house of Abraham (Ishmael, Isaac, and Median). This will be the seed used to bring all of them together and dominate the world under a single global religion. So yes religions will inherit the earth for a period of 5 months (Revelation 9), after which the true Christ returns and that reign by religions is ended. Christ and his election will teach for 1000 years (one day, 2 Peter ch 3) and then Satan is loosed to test the masses once again, afterword, Judgement occurs, where each person is judged according to his/her works (Revelation 19 &20).

      I believe Christianity is indeed Christ’s church, the bride of Christ whatever you want to call true christians…and I believe Islam is the religion of the anti-christ…they definetly have the number of follwers it takes in the book of revelations…prophecy is being fulfilled right before our eyes…want to know more, I suggest you pick up your king james bible….It’s a good thing God has a plan and we will overcome..Thank you Jesus!
