TUCSON, Ariz. (AP/The Blaze) — Arizona authorities say a second man has been cleared of any involvement in Rep. Gabrielle Giffords shooting.
Pima County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Ogan said Sunday that the man, a suspected accomplice in the shooting Saturday, was not involved.
The office has said a man possibly associated with the suspect who was near the scene was being sought. The man, who was photographed by a security camera, was described as white with dark hair and 40 to 45 years old.
The prime suspect, Jared Loughner, remains in FBI custody has been formally charged for Saturday’s shooting spree. The federal government is charging Loughner with an attempt to kill a member of Congress; two counts of first degree murder; and two counts of attempted murder. Though six people were killed, the federal government only has jurisdiction to to bring charges for the deaths of federal employees who died Saturday, including one Giffords staffer and a federal judge. State charges are still pending.
“This was an attack on our institutions and on our way of life,” FBI director Mueller told reporters.
Additionally, Mueller noted Sunday that authorities were continuing to investigate possible ties to any hate groups, suggesting there may be a case for hate crimes charges.

Posted on January 9, 2011 at 5:52pmI’ve noticed a chanbe in the rhetoric from the liberal media. When they were certain this gunman was a tea Party fanatic, they were readily labelling him as full of hate ans using any and all other names to associate him with intentional and premeditated actions driven by the hate filled teachings of the right wing .
Report Post »Now that it has come to light that the gunman’s political leanings may be more closely aligned with their own, they have begun to proclaim that the gunman was obviously mentally challenged, and that there were not any political motivations to his actions.

And Home land Security pushing the idea this kid was associated with “America Renaissance” The idea for law enforcement pushing unfounded evidence before hand is just as bad as the media claiming this kid was a Afgan war veteran. Stuff like this get people hurt. CNN cant stop bringing up Palin there obsessed with blaming her.
This statement kinda bothers me from the FBI Director “This was an attack on our institutions and on our way of life,” FBI director Mueller told reporters. Let me remind the Director to be PC correct, you shoud have said “This was an attack on our institutions and Americas way of life” Thats the problem in this country folks in political elected/appointed positions class themselves away from the rest of America.

Posted on January 9, 2011 at 5:04pmJust like Lee Harvey Oswald, Mr. Jared Loughner was no “lone gunman”. All indications point to him being a “fall guy”, hired to do a job that would have broader implications. If this case is take over from the Arizona authorities to the Federal government as was the case in Texas after the assassination of John F. Kennedy we will never know the truth.
Report Post »Mr. Loughner was too well trained in the use of fire arms, well prepared with a note to state what his “personal” objective were and the after effects were predictable enough to glean that there is more to it than a “crazed” lone gunman.
The left jumped too quickly without any substantial evidence to blame the Tea party, the Conservatives, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh as distraction from any investigation at this critical point whether this was pre planned by those in power who want to push agendas now weakened by the new Congress.
The same people in Congress who found the reading of the Constitution unsavory are also the very members who have called a postponement of the repeal of the Obama care health program that was slated to occur.
How convenient that what Glenn Beck told has come to pass. Create a crisis in order to justify actions normally not approved. This is no lone gunman but a fairly clumsy attempt to derail the new Congress and keep pushing the Obama issues.
It is clumsy due to the fact that the second step of taking down the assassin as was the case with Lee Harvey Oswald failed. It was equally clumsy since the Senator survived unlike John F. Kennedy, and it has exposed the duplicity of this act by the immediate demonizing of the conservative movement and those who espouse it.

Yes, how dare we, Blue Boy, take your words and the map with targets on it, which DailyKos has now pulled so that they can demonize the right without fear of rebuttal? How dare Paul Krugman? How dare Keith Olbermann? How dare MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, etc., all of whom are jumping on the right as if we all personally pulled that trigger? Enough is enough- I cannot stomach idiocy. Perhaps that is why I am a proud conservative- I don’t deal well with fools and, unfortunately, they are out in abundance. Soldier on, friends, soldier on. God bless.

Posted on January 9, 2011 at 4:12pmJared appears to be a paranoid schizophrenic. He has had problems with the police in the past and that would explain his paranoial rants against government. The fact that he is anti-government is why the left keeps trying to portray him as a tea party guy.
He was kicked out of College due to his emotional problems. His parents were called in reportedly and told that in order for him to come back he would have had to have undergone a psychiatric evaluation and have some help. I assume this happened this past Fall. It is reported that he bought his gun in November.
What I want to know is if his parents EVER brought him in for an evaluation. Because this guy needed some help big time. He reportedly still lived at home with parents and they may have some culpability in this if he never received an evaluation.
For those who are trying to peg him politically….If anything the guy is more of an anarchist-type who doesn’t believe in God and who burns American flags.

Sometimes people just fall through the cracks, and a chain of events sets off in rapid succession. Often there are the flags that should be seen; in some ways it is like a team effort on a ball game, you have a fairly good idea of the other teams intentions, and can usually make a difference when the play begins. Sometimes you just get it wrong and they score.
In this case, from friends and family, to the authorities and anyone else who may have seen the signs and flags; no one made the connection for the nightmare coming.
