PHILADELPHIA (The Blaze/AP) — Law enforcement officials are investigating reports of suspicious packages on cargo planes in Philadelphia and Newark, N.J.
Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman Kristin Lee says the planes landed safely and are being swept by law enforcement.
The planes have been moved to a remote location so law enforcement officials can investigate.
Philadelphia International Airport spokeswoman Victoria Lupica says Philadelphia police and other agencies are with a plane at a remote part of that airport. Video from the airport shows emergency vehicles around a UPS jet.
A spokeswoman for United Parcel Service Inc. did not immediately know what prompted authorities to search the flight at Philadelphia. The company says it is working closely with authorities.
UPDATE:
According to CNN, a bomb squad in New York City is responding to a report of a suspected explosive device inside a package aboard a UPS truck in Queens. Officials are not commenting on whether that potential bomb could be part of the possible bombs on planes in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Additionally, investigators in the United Kingdom found a suspicious device containing a “manipulated” toner cartridge aboard a plane flying from Yemen to Chicago when it stopped in London on Thursday night
ABC News’s Terry Moran originally reported that more than a dozen possible bombs may have been shipped to the US:

Fox News is now reporting that trucks in Brooklyn and Queens have been cleared, and do not contain any explosive devices.
ABC’s Moran has corrected his earlier report regarding IEDs:
Fox is also reporting that the packages may have been a “dry run” by terrorists testing whether or not they could sneak explosives on cargo planes in the future.

CNN is now reporting that the packages were sent from Yemen to mosques in the U.S.:
A “number” of suspicious packages have been found in England, a British security source said. All were sent from the same person in Yemen through UPS and had American destinations. The nature of the addresses is described as “extremely sensitive.”
In the last 24 hours, security officials received a tip from an unnamed ally that packages coming from Yemen were destined for synagogues in Chicago, Illinois, according to information given to CNN contributor Fran Townsend.

There are reports of of suspicious packages in Portland, Maine and San Francisco. Police are investigation those reports, however officials have not said if they are connected to the packages on the East Coast and England.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Officials for FedEx say the company has confiscated a suspicious package in Dubai that was shipped from Yemen and is cooperating with the FBI.
Memphis-based FedEx Corp. has embargoed all shipments from Dubai indefinitely. Company spokeswoman Sandra Munoz said Friday she could not estimate how many packages might be involved or discuss what was suspicious about the package.
She said the package originated in Yemen but referred all further questions to the FBI.
Otherwise, Munoz said, FedEx operations were running normally.

Fox is reporting that a New York bound flight from Yemen is now being escorted by two U.S. fighter jets.
