President Obama experienced what one might consider an awkward moment when he spoke to a group of Toledo autoworkers earlier today. According to National Journal, he said, “…that the recovering U.S. economy took a hit that even a Jeep Wrangler couldn’t rebound from quickly.” Do you think the joke went over well? I work in the education field and unfortunately, I know how easy it is for some to play the system and get that diploma without learning a single stinkin’ thing. Some people work harder at playing the system than they do at actually learning something, and that is most unfortunate. What is even more unfortunate is that some people actually believe he was good for this country.

Or not. It’s probably just another indicator of how Obama hates America, and how the only thing that can stave off a full-blown global meltdown is a Palin/West Presidency. That sounds much more reasonable.

Posted on June 3, 2011 at 10:55pmI don’t get the headline for the thread, and everybody laughed at the joke. I don’t get what the posts are saying. I watched the video twice and didn’t get the “awkward” thing, but I guess if you read the headline, and are predisposed to hate Obama, you can hear laughter and believe that people are actually booing.
Chrysler has paid back almost all the 12.5 billion loaned by the government. They, and GM, are in the black and making money. Without the “government bailout” there would no longer be an automobile industry in the US. Not now, and possibly never. And the people in the audience, and their family and spouses would have no jobs.
Many of you say the US should simply have let the industry fail (although, again, they’re profitable now and have almost completely paid back their debt). The people in this video would be without jobs. So what you say? Since they don’t have money, they can’t buy things in Toledo. So the businesses that rely on people buying things fail.
And wait a second. Aren’t cars made out of things like steel, alloys, tires, fabric, electronics, plastic, glass, lights, nuts, bolts and whatever else? How many of those industries are dependent on the automobile industry? How many people would have been out had Chrysler and GM failed?
Sorry to disappoint you, but the bailout was a success, and Obama made a pretty good joke, one appreciated by the audience.

His studdering and stammering clearly prooves Obama isn’t in the genius category. He probably has a dozen speech writer but it‘s evident he couldn’t follow what was written on the paper before him.
We all have “meltdowns” and maybe, just maybe Obama is experiencing one as he tries to balance the economy, three wars, rumor of more, illegal immigration, gay rights, a hostile Congress also and keep up his campaign schedule for the 2012 Presidential election. He may have to admit, to himself, that he has bitten off more than he can chew and swallow.

Our economy is BASED on oil! The last time gas prices shot up it triggered the initial collapse of the housing market and RV business. Which of course always leads to a snow ball effect on the rest of the economy.
