Awkward: Bush Brother Dresses Up as a Communist on China Trip

Neil Bush, the brother of George and Jeb Bush, cracked a smile in China recently, posting a picture of himself decked out in communist paraphernalia.

“I’m thinking of joining the CCP. What do you think of my accessories?” he jokingly asked on the Chinese social site Weibo, brandishing a mug and a messenger bag with the face of Chairman Mao, and the well-known green communist officer’s field cap.

Here is the picture, via Weibo:

(Photo: Weibo)

According to the Wall Street Journal, the picture was posted on the man’s verified account and generated roughly 1,600 comments in the first six hours.

The comments were a mixture of praise that Bush has finally “figured it out,” so to speak, and criticism for China’s Communist Party.

Here are a selection of the comments, via the Wall Street Journal:

@UncleNiujileng: Your accessories do not qualify. These days the basic Communist Party gear is: Patek Philippe watch, Hermes wallet, Armani suit…

@LinYuntao: Lead the way to the glorious liberation of the United States!

@Highland (in English): Over qualified

@YourContentHasBeenScreened: Day doesn’t understand the night’s darkness

@DuskinPragueSquare (in English): awesome.

@SongFan svan (in English): You are not prepared!

@jiayi5001: Converting to our party — you’ve finally figured it out.

@JuneLyn2012 (in English): Take the CCP to USA, leave freedom here please.

Some likened dressing up in the Communist garb to wearing a Nazi outfit because the ideology is responsible for far more deaths, but others pointed out that Chairman Mao bags are more “mainstream.”

Neil Bush has a long and profitable history of working with China, and while converting to communism was clearly a joke, Bush is serious about his interest in the country.

“In the past 35 years, I have been to China 80 times and I am in awe of China’s development,” he says in his personal description, according to the Daily Mail.  “I hope all Americans see China’s long journey of development in to a global force with better understanding.”

    Really, much ado about nothing here…

    just one question, Mr. Bushhhhhhhhhhhhhhhsha! You said – “In the past 35 years, I have been to China 80 times and I am in awe of China’s development,” he says in his personal description, according to the Daily Mail. “I hope all Americans see China’s long journey of development in to a global force with better understanding.”

    “…better understanding.” WOULD YOU CARE TO ELABORATE? Dang sissypuss…one cream pie in the face is all it would take to send yet ANOTHER Bush into obscurity…and take John McCain with you! Please.

    What a twit. When I look at China’s so-called prosperity (remember, most of their population still craps in a hole in the ground). I always recall the 1989 student rebellion and how that was quelled (don’t look for it on You-Tube — no videotapes of it exist!) and the larger-than-life portrait of that smiling tu*d Mao outside the Forbidden City. Chinese officials are NOT to be trusted.

    Shame on you, Mr. Bush! The glorification of a murderous system of government that has forced abortion, the bondage of humankind to a tyrannical central government, the raping of the spirit of freedom, religious freedom inhibited, and crony capitalism which sucks revenue into a maoistic monster is the nightmare you are praising here- the New World Order will elect you jester-in-chief, right?

    The truth is……America is NOT that different in how it treats its people…..fiscally speaking. What the US doesnt get in taxes, it gets in speeding tickets, building permits, parking meters, cell phone tax, gas tax, alcohol, tobacco, and on and on and on…….

    China is not the only one stealing from its people….. We are just better at disguising it…….It is reason why most countries think of Americans as idiots…..

    THIS is the CHANGE Obama is talking about….OR “you didnt build that” comment. Lets face it….we will NEVER pay down that debt….thats a fact! It is only an excuse for full blown Communism, which Obama wants….and was trained for…by US tax dollars at Harvard. WE BUILT OBAMA!

    I understand China first and formost has a horrible human rights history.
    I understand that FoxConn has had several workers commit suicide jumping from the top of their barracks while working to create Apple’s next best product.
    I further understand that Foxconn has felt bad about this and then installed “Nets” to capture these would be suicidal individuals and then grant a pay raise to help it’s damaged world perception as a slave labor camp.
    I Totally get a Bush getting in bed with these commies.
    What I don’t get is the humor in any of this.

    Yup China developes fast, they can build a ten story building in a couple of days. Problem is they fall down sometimes. LOL They do not have OSHA, no form of EPA. They literally have orange rivers that look like HI-C. Oh and it looks like the house of cards that their economy is based on is about to come crumbling down. DUMB A55. I bet his family is proud.
