Awkward: Group Sends 300 Moving Boxes to Dem, Then Confronts His Staff

The group Pack Up and Get Out has a simple message for Dem. Rep. Russ Carnahan: pack up and get out. To make that message clear, it recently sent 300 boxes to the Rep’s St. Louis field office. When the office rejected the delivery, one of the group‘s representatives decided to confront the Rep’s staff.
What follows is an awkward exchange, some political preaching, and a guy with a killer soul patch and gray pony tail:

It seems Congressional members hold themselves up in high regards and unless you are a constituent of theirs, you are disregarded. But I think this man made his point perfectly. They are not listening to us nor do they care what the people think.

Unfortunately for the PU&GO guy, the Office Manager was correct, he should have done better research before hand or have a plan so he could articulate better his organizations frustration at the politician. And despite his final statement, he left on his own, he was not kicked out.
Really wish they could have done a better & more accurate job making their point; it would have resonated better and therefore been more effective – I support their efforts and registered at their website anyways, and I’m out on the Left Coast (CA)

I did have to chuckle at ‘this is a Congressional office’. If I were a witness, I would dryly state ‘yes, and this is one of your boss’s unhappy constitutents who represents a large group of unhappy constituents who is going to make you unemployed very soon. You might want to listen so that you at least understand what the heck happened to your career.

This statement and this action by the Pack up and Move guy, nice… it was done in a non-threatening and legally done manner. He was soft spoken, mannerly and non confrontational…

I once got fired from a supervisor named Pete, and I didn’t agree with the reasoning. It was total BS. I retaliated by calling a local florist that happened to be friends with supervisor Pete. Convincing them on the phone that I was the supervisor, I then ordered flowers for all the women who worked at the business, along with a card stating Pete’s appreciation for a job well done. The next day two trucks showed up and unloaded the flowers, taking them to each female employee. Then, as I had requested over the phone, only after they had delivered the flowers to each lady did they go to Pete’s office to collect the amount owed. I often wondered how Pete handled that. Was he too embarrassed to send the flowers back after they had already been given to the employees. Either way, he had to be embarrassed. He knew it had to be me because the next day I got a call at home from his friend the florist. It was an immoral thing to do, but I denied that it was me.

He should have said it will be a shame to refuse the free boxes in place of having the folks pick up the tab for boxes when he does have to move. Need a law in congress that allows for the people to deliver political messages to our own damn Congressional offices. Using the ladies idea that a constituent can’t make a statement like this will justify them to just lock the office all the time. Oh and take all the locks off our offices.
