WASHINGTON (AP) — A top adviser to President Barack Obama says the White House objects to “permanent” tax cuts for the wealthy but is silent on the possibility of extending current tax rates for the short term.
Obama adviser David Axelrod says the president only wants to make permanent the tax cuts for the middle class that expire at the end of this year. He urged Congress to resolve the tax-cut question during a lame-duck session of Congress.
Options facing Congress include extending middle-class tax cuts permanently while continuing tax cuts for the wealthy for only one or two years, or to adopt short-term extensions of all tax cuts.
Axelrod says he would leave negotiations to Obama and lawmakers. He appeared on “Fox News Sunday” and NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

He creates a ROCK STAR Persona for his candidate.
This “Emperor” has no clothes. Uh, Uh, Uh, Er, Er, Er. And your point Mr. Axelrod?!
Did anyone ever notice that our President, Rahm Emmanuel, Gibbs, and Axelrod ALL say TA instead of TO?

Posted on November 14, 2010 at 4:00pmA flat rate tax at a reasonable rate (one low enough not to be worth getting around) equal for all citizens, businesses and corporations would bring more revenue then could be imagined. It must be equal for all ,if you earn you pay from the lowliest wage earner to the mightiest corp. All must contribute toward the the needs of their nation. Trick is making sure it is spent honestly, something the government is extremely poor at.

Posted on November 15, 2010 at 12:08amThe only ‘truly’ fair way to collect federal taxes equally is to implement a flat percentage rate on all goods sold within the US.
There are SO many reasons to do this including: everyone purchasing items within the US pays federal and state tax, yearly tax returns – gone, the Internal Revenue Service can investigate businesses instead of individuals for tax fraud, and best of all when federal or state taxes increase, EVERYONE will notice.

Posted on November 14, 2010 at 3:52pmObama and his fellow democrats would like to not only let the Bush Tax cuts expire and after they expire, raise up the tax rate. They talk about how concerned they are about the middle class. That is just another one of their lies. They could care less about the American People, rich poor or otherwise. Their concern is how much power they can retain and how they can stuff more into their pockets. The democrats will fight tooth and nail to let the tax cuts expire and then spin it, so it is the Republican’s fault. These people have the same creditability of the snake oil guys back in the 1800′s.

First of all, there are NO tax cuts being discussed….there are no tax rate CUTS….PERIOD. The question is whether or not the CURRENT TAX RATES are to be extended.
AXLERUT: Knock off the squirmy talk and admit YOU WANT A TAX RATE INCREASE!!! SPEAK PLAIN ENGLISH!!!

Raising taxes is always a tax cut. You can either collect reasonable taxes from a large base or you can raise taxes and sent half your base into poverty and collect the same amount or less from a smaller base

Posted on November 14, 2010 at 2:38pmIm all for extending the Bush “TAX CUTS” up and down the ladder. But here would be my only compromise across the asile. extend the tax cuts for the Middle Class at $500,000.00 and below. The additional taxes that will be collected on the Hi-End earners will go directly to the National Debt. A once a month report will be generated by the Internal Revenue Service and reported back to congress and available to the public. A simple one page bill would be sufficient to accomplish this. This tax issue is nothing more than a game to both sides, lower payroll taxes but yet there trying to add additional $.18 cent sales tax on gasoline please give me a break. ITS ALL SMOKE AND DECEPTION.

Posted on November 14, 2010 at 5:08pmDo you really think that we could count on the IRS to do this? The govt dept with the highest percentage of delinquent taxpayers who, of course, don’t get nasty letters and threatening phone calls from the IRS!!!!!! The same govt that has experts who give us weekly unemployment statistics and they always UNEXPECTEDLY rise or fall. Little noted in that same report are the revisions for the previous week or month which are always revised downward. Why are these experts always so surprised every week? I used to think that if I had my life to do over I would be a weatherperson, since it was the only profession I knew where you could be wrong most of the time and still keep your job. Changed my mind, want to come back as a govt expert!

Posted on November 14, 2010 at 2:05pmThese people aren’t ignorant about capitalism. They want to crash the system. They want to foment a crisis in Arizona so the people will look to the federal savior. They want people to look to government for their needs. These people are wicked, pernicious, nefarious. Pray to the True God (the one who is not the spirit brother of Lucifer) that he might send another Great Awakening that the people might turn their hearts toward liberty instead of comfort and safety. Electing conservatives is only a bandaid on the problem. A nation‘s who’s hearts are turned to the One who gives us our sovereignty is the answer.

The Great Awakening is happening right now, and the time is at hand. The battlefield for the light of truth and the darkness of lies (Lucifers team) is here in America and each of us citizens has his or her part to play. The watchmen have called and we have awakened in part; carry the message on for the storm is at hand, and soon will land with force. We either stand togeather as a nation with the Almighty, or we will pass into the night and never recover what we are meant by Him to be.

How about we start with Mr Obama being delusional, self agrandizing, self oriented, an egotistical maniac, conceited, counter productive, deceitful, compulsive liar, and probably a few hundred more I could find in the big book of Psychological Problems given the first few pages and enough time.
Hope the weather is good there in Florida, just had a fire alarm go off in the complex here, some idiot torched their breakfast by walking off while it was cooking. Whole complex smells of torched and scorched eggs and toast. A pig pen in the summertime smells better than this place right now.

Posted on November 14, 2010 at 5:02pmWhich stash of cash is Obama using to give money to the Palestinians? The irony is that 42 cents of every dollar he spends is borrowed from China, so in effect, China is giving them the money and we will someday repay China.
Report Post »Also, did anyone hear about the UN request for $150 million to combat the cholera epidemic in Haiti? Question 1: UN, where is all the money that the member nations donated to recover and rebuild after the earthquake? Question 2: Bill, now that you are no longer campaigning for former Hillary supporters, where is all the money that “we the people” donated to Haiti? Question 3: Wyclef Jean, now that you are no longer running for president of Haiti, where is all the money that “we the people” donated to your celebrity telethon? While I empathize and sympathize with the plight of the Haitian people, I do think it is time that someone stepped in to figure out where the roughly 10 trillion dollars of aid that has poured into Haiti over the past quarter century has gone. The nation and people of Haiti of today appear to be no better off than they were 25 years ago, but the money is all gone bye-bye. Sort of like the missing billions of dollars from the Dept of Defense that was exposed just prior to 9/11 and 9 years later, it is still unaccounted for.

Hey, I am no economist, but even I could tell you if you over tax the wealthy, the job creators, corporation owners, small business owners, and those with the capital to invest in businesses, jobs won’t b e created and more people will be laid off or out of work. They (Washington D.C. politicians) just don‘t get it and basically I don’t think they really care. The mentality of these morons seems to always be “hey, I’ve got mine to hell with you”.
