AZ Shooter‘s ’Best Friend’: ‘He Didn’t Listen to Political Radio’

Zach Osler talked to ABC News reporter Ashleigh Banfield on Good Morning America about his friend Jared Loughner.

The interview is revealing on a number of point but here is the key quote:

He did not watch TV. He disliked the news. He didn’t listen to political radio. He didn’t take sides. He wasn’t on the left. He wasn’t on the right.

AZ Shooters Best Friend: He Didnt Listen to Political Radio

ABC News:

One one former close friend of Loughner’s said he went from a stable high school student to a violent, self-medicated “monster” after his girlfriend dumped him during his junior year of high school.

Zachary Osler said that Loughner, who would walk around with his jaw and fist clenched, spent “excessive amounts of money” on drugs.

Osler said Loughner consumed marijuana, cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms and the hallucigenic salvia.

“There was no political motive in this, [Jared] was just angry at the world,” he said.

Loughner ended his friendship with Osler through a text message two years ago, writing to him, “I don’t want to be friends with you anymore.”

Osler also said that Loughner’s favorite quote was, “Out of chaos breathes creation.”

Osler, who spent a lot of time at the Loughner’s home during high school, described the family’s home as “cold, dark and unpleasant“ and added that he always felt ”unwelcomed.”

Littered with musical instruments and a computer in the middle of the room, Osler said he never observed a particularly loving relationship between the Loughners. Loughner once told Osler that he loved his pet dog Hannah more than his parents.

“They did very few family activities together besides going to car races and one family vacation to the beach, and they never decorated their house for the holidays,” recalled Osler. “Jared’s parents were religious but Jared proclaimed himself as an atheist.”

    The mentally ill members of the Democrat party speak their insanity, but it is Democrats who overwhelmingly are the spewers of vitriolic rhetoric. Go back to the days when the lefties spit on our Vietnam servicemen and track their evil hate and vitriol up to the modern day. The Democrat party is a vile hate movement whose modus operandi has overwhelmingly been characterized by incident after incident after incident of violent hate and vitriol – FOR DECADES!. Their attempt to point “the finger” at conservatives is the height of audacity and hypocrisy.

    Interesting bit I just read in my Juvenile Justice text book: lack of religiosity in families is a risk factor to juvenile delinquency. This is this year’s text. Amazing that that was in there. Not that it has anything to do with this case. But I did notice “political talk or political leanings” wasn’t on the rather lengthy list.
    Also mentioned that if an individual is mentally unstable, nothing will stop them from doing something deemed (by society) wrong.

    If the MSM covers this to a greater extent, it collectively will still maintain ‘right-wing hate rhetoric’ drove him to his act. Just because he didn’t take a political side is no reason to assume the original template is somehow incorrect. Lefties will never backpedal that far, like with the ‘quotes’ attributed to Rush that were later proved to be made up lies. Even though Rush never said the things he was accused of saying, Lefties simply concluded, “He may never have it but we know he thinks it.”

      Your 100% correct… I noticed many of the Dem‘s who were the first to jump on stage misquoting statements and saying them in a manner the not only didn’t reflect the truth of what was said, but changed the words around in a way that sounds evil and hateful. I guess that is how they hear things in their head. I have learned over these many years of studying psychology that those who are of unsound minds and baseless in their ideals and thinking, have no foundation in thought, so it is impossible for them to grasp reality as it truly exists. The only reality they know is the illusion of which the their fears have driven into thought. So it is the man who is quick to yell racist, who consciously , only claims to not be a racist because of fear of what perception would be of them maybe not exactly because they are a racist, but because of the fear of the world knowing the really only care about themselves and in reality are not only racist but could care less about any other human being, no matter what the type, make or model, for they are only concerned with themselves and what can be used to serve themselves. To elaborate, if I was to hate all people on earth equally, no person could make a claim I was prejudice, for I do not discriminate or care what make or model, I don’t like anybody. You will even hear this in their rhetoric often times, revealing the true selfishness of these people. Imagine the challenge of living a life knowing you only care about yourself, selfish to the core, yet, understanding you must appear the exact opposite if you wish to be liked and use others to serve your selfish needs. I would imagine this is why the most intelligent of the intellects is those whom the progressives admire the most. This would also help to understand why communism or socialism is so appealing to them, for if the government is made to be the care taker, they no longer have to participate or pretend they wish to help others, they are alleviated of the mundane and highly exhausting task of maintaining a dimension of this “popular” person of whom is only a reflection of the perception they project towards others. This is why the truth makes them so angry, for, it “blazes” through their persona and reveals them for the spoiled selfish brats they really are. I can on and on, for these people are baseless and out of touch with reality. To even hear the word God in school or see God on money, has become so scares these people to the core, as this symbol reminds them of who they really are and breaks through the great “lie” of which they call their life. If forced to take a moral account in any form is death of the person of whom they think they are. They can not find happiness because they are so far removed from their true selves, they no longer even know what it is that will make them happy. All they know is ego and pride, the shield they must maintian at all costs, this is where they find their peace. By playing the very God the deny, believing they can control all the factors of the world, truly believing that is only everybody in the world would just listen to them, then their lives would be perfect. They care not about you, but they do care that nobody find out they are a fraud of a person. These people are the disease of our society, it these people who cause the righteous to step away from the light only to avoid being trampled on by the self serving act‘s of these sociopath’s . All that matters to them, is first, they are preserved and serviced in the highest degree, that people think they are special and great, and that they get whatever they want at any costs. They are capable of justifying all their actions even with the support of their peers, through who, use each other for the same reasons. These people live in a constant fear of being found out to be a fraud all the while becoming a master at acting and mimicking the personalities they perceive will best get them what they want. Sick twisted people they are as they have been the cause of the fall of civilized societies since the begining of time.
      SO this is why they plainly misquote and outright lie when spewing their rambles of fear. They will not only violently fight anybody who calls for them to face the truth, but will also fight for any of their peers of whom if the truth is leanred about them, they themselves may very well be found out too…

      Their mere opinions equate to logic itself and to disagree is illogical and taken as an insult to their hyper-narcissistic opinion of themselves which is one of their justifications for their intense hatred for anyone not like them!

      As regular people, it is hard to think like this, but they do exist and are attracted to positions of authority like a drug addict is to drawn rob the cash register at the nearest convenience store!

They’ve already decided talk radio causes this, so when something like this happens, it‘s talk radio’s fault. Read liberal sites like Digg.com or Reddit.com. You can’t even debate those people. Yes, but they weren’t concerned with the truth or even if the truth would eventually dispute them, as it has. They did what they always do, get out quick, splatter the “news” with “targeted” claims and accusations. They do this knowing that even if proven wrong the truth will not get the play that the lies did.
      All we can do is make sure our Rep‘s and Sen’s we have not been fooled and we will hold them responsible in 2012 for any actions taken as a result of these lies. Max jones – no offense intended but I don‘t see why there HAS to be a trigger that you can point to and say THAT’s IT, that’s why he did it. I believe he was just a trouble young man who lived in a make believe world which was constructed in his mind after years and years of interaction with others intermingled with his personal experiences (and lack thereof) until such a time that he just acted out. I really think that this is something that stewed for many years.

      We know he was taught Bill Ayers designed curriculum…

      When are the press going to ask what materials Loughner was exposed to in high school that allowed him to find the evil anarchist path he choose?

      It’s obvious the parents have no influence on what Loughner was digesting in class and online…

      Being raised in an emotionally and morally detached home, Loughner would have been ripe for indoctrination by curriculum…

      Something to think about…

      Everyone is deflecting from the real issue: Loughner made his own choice. He may be a madman/ crazy/ brain fizzled by drugs, but he still decided to bring a gun to a town hall meeting and gun down innocent people. Every single time he pulled the trigger he made that choice.

      Don’t fall into the trap of thinking that more laws would have prevented this man from committing this heinous crime. He was already on everyone’s radar for his behavior. One more law enacted because of him is just another way of saying he has no personal responsibility and we all must be protected from ourselves.

      KEN- Agreed. I have to admit I watch ‘Family Guy’ (very liberal) and as I was watching last night I saw 3 different characters, at 3 different times, point guns at people. I thought to myself, “where do I see the most violence?” Simple answer, movies and TV. Add music to that and you’re looking at 3 predominately liberal outlets “inspiring violence”. Within those outlets there is no ambiguity, symbolism or room for interpretation. It’s actual visual and audible acts of violence. I don’t think they should be censored, but if we’re going to open up a can of worms………..

      Glenn Beck supports the Tea Party.

      Loughner is a Beck acolyte: Loughner’s words on his white on black text youtube video on currency and the gold standard are EXACTLY like Becks crazy chalkboard writings on the gold standard & revolution. [Dump the US$ says Beck -- rather buy gold from Goldline, who amazingly just happen to be Beck's #1 sponsor.]

      Where else would some kid with virtually NO eduction get these (loony) gold standard + revolution currency ideas from? Comic books? Nah — The Glenn Beck comic show where it is highlighted EVERY SINGLE DAY on TV.

      AS I PASS through my incarnations in every age and race,
      I make my proper prostrations to the Gods of the Market Place.
      Peering through reverent fingers I watch them flourish and fall,
      And the Gods of the Copybook Headings, I notice, outlast them all.

      We were living in trees when they met us. They showed us each in turn
      That Water would certainly wet us, as Fire would certainly burn:
      But we found them lacking in Uplift, Vision and Breadth of Mind,
      So we left them to teach the Gorillas while we followed the March of Mankind.

      We moved as the Spirit listed. They never altered their pace,
      Being neither cloud nor wind-borne like the Gods of the Market Place,
      But they always caught up with our progress, and presently word would come
      That a tribe had been wiped off its icefield, or the lights had gone out in Rome.

      With the Hopes that our World is built on they were utterly out of touch,
      They denied that the Moon was Stilton; they denied she was even Dutch;
      They denied that Wishes were Horses; they denied that a Pig had Wings;
      So we worshipped the Gods of the Market Who promised these beautiful things.

      When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace.
      They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
      But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,
      And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “Stick to the Devil you know.”

      On the first Feminian Sandstones we were promised the Fuller Life
      (Which started by loving our neighbour and ended by loving his wife)
      Till our women had no more children and the men lost reason and faith,
      And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “The Wages of Sin is Death.”

      In the Carboniferous Epoch we were promised abundance for all,
      By robbing selected Peter to pay for collective Paul;
      But, though we had plenty of money, there was nothing our money could buy,
      And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “If you don’t work you die.”

      Then the Gods of the Market tumbled, and their smooth-tongued wizards withdrew
      And the hearts of the meanest were humbled and began to believe it was true
      That All is not Gold that Glitters, and Two and Two make Four
      And the Gods of the Copybook Headings limped up to explain it once more.

      As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man
      There are only four things certain since Social Progress began.
      That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,
      And the burnt Fool’s bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;

      And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
      When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,
      As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,
      The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!

      I never knew an inanimate object to kill some one, are these guns falling from trees and hitting people in the head. Inanimate objects in this case (a gun) needed human interaction to do harm. With out a human at the trigger no harm could have came to any one from the gun.
