Baby Girl Found Alone in Indiana Field Following Tornado Devastation Reunited With Family

A baby girl found alone in a field in Indiana after Friday’s tornado storms has been reunited with her family.

(Related: New Details Emerge About Baby Girl Found Alone in Indiana Field)

The 20-month-old girl was injured and by herself in a field in Salem, Ind. when she was found after the storms. She was flown to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Ky. with no name and no parents.

“We have tags, you know, we put arm bands on the children, just to identify them and found out pretty quickly nobody came with this little girl,” said Cis Gruebbel, chief of nursing at Kosair.

Authorities used television broadcasts to put out a search for the little girl’s parents. Family members — it was unclear whether they were her parents or not — responded and are now with her at the hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

A spokeswoman from St. Vincent Salem Hospital, where the girl was initially taken, said her family is from New Pekin, Ind., about 10 miles south of where the child was found.

According to CNN, the girl — described as having blonde hair and blue eyes — is intubated with a tube in her throat to help her breathe.

Authorities were also searching for a 9-year-old boy missing from Henryville, 20 miles away. Rescuers were using dogs and thermal imaging to try to find the boy, not seen since tornadoes ravaged the town.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

      Have you seen the devastation from these tornadoes? Do you know people who have lost their lives and every single item that they owned? During natural disasters such as from these tornadoes I didn’t think there was any red vs blue, dem vs rep, political BS, just people helping people. But, I guess that you aren’t capable of any compassion, you seem to be just a Hater. Well, in stooping to your cockroach level, I wish that I could reach through your pc and choke some sense into you. I bet that you wouldnt talk so viciously in person but hiding behind your pc you think you are immune to the wrath of people you offend, but one day someone will beat the hell out of you and hopefully no one will come to your aid and leave you to die as the cockroach you are…..

      @proud liberal
      first of all with your avatar name no one is going to take you seriously. Jesus is not anything of man’s creation but how typical of a liberal to try and squeeze Him into a box of definitions that allows for the types of lifestyles you liberals condone but are written against specifically in the Bible (not one of those “new” – a euphemism for bastardized, translations). are you feeling some guilt here? you know that conservatives outgive liberals in embarassing amounts towards humanitariam efforts. it’s been my observation that you get the government to do your giving for you by creating massive amounts of crippling debt and government programs that end up making matters worse. yet, you liberals always scream about the insensitivity of us conservatives…….there is a phrase that fits your conundrum quite nicely——– “guilty speaks loudest.”

    you know, i really want America to humble itself and return to God. I want America to be great again. I have kids and I want them to grow up and have beautiful, loving lives. I want a lot of things but I have discernment (of the spiritual variety) and I can see that we are in the birth pangs that Jesus mentioned. I don’t know how long in days it is before He returns but He is going to return soon. To some degree, I have become “attached” to this world and a part of me just wants things to get better. In my heart of hearts, I know that when He calls us my cares will be gone. The earthquakes, tornados, social/financial/everything else unrest as well as several dozen other signs of His return are in plain view but that earthly part of me doesn’t want to fully acknowledge these warnings. I will live my life with my family directed towards Jesus with each day being a gift from Him. I pray that anyone who does not know Jesus as Lord of their lives and Saviour will be brought to that truth before the tribulation. God Bless everyone, even those pagan obots :)

      I feel much like you, and yet the signs that Jesus spoke of just keep mounting. Tornadoes, earthquakes, rumors of wars about to begin and then, this morning I find this quaint little headline:
      A 60 meter wide asteroid to graze,or possibly impact Earth in February 2013.
      The expert’s current calculations put it within 16,000 miles of Earth, close enough to get sucked in by gravity.

    These tornadoes were F4 possibly F5, that is how she landed in the field. Just looking at some of the neighboring communities here in Kentucky is so sad. Our local news channel have some excellent videos and photos up of the actual tornadoes and the damage. WLEX, WKYT and WTVQ. Yesterday was just a weird day all around, you could just feel the nastiness in the air all day. I remember the 1974 outbreak and it was the same way, almost like you know something bad is coming.

    Thankfully our town was spared. I know I was saying lots of extra prayers yesterday as we live on a slab without a basement. Around here they are a luxury because of all the limestone in the ground. Nobody knows why God takes some and spares others. I sometimes wonder why the Bible Belt seems to get hammered with these killer storms and not the less Godless areas of our country, I don’t have an answer. I have heard that those who are closest to Him share in His sufferings like He did when He suffered and died for us. I believe that is true.

      I think you are the Bible Belt because you do get hammered by the weather. People in need turn to God. There the sorrowing get consoled. My head knowledge of God, I got from Church. My visceral knowledge of God came from when I was poor, when I was sorrowing, and when I was overwhelmed. That is when I found that God is a very present help in times of need. No atheist can ever sway me from my belief in God because I can give testimony after testimony about how God reached out to me and delivered me. In many ways He is more real and present to me than my own mother.
      A lot of this country is like the Church of Laodicea in Revelations, who were rich, well-fed and well-clothed and couldn’t see that they were really poor, hungry and naked in the eyes of God. He longs to console them, but they were blind to our need.
      If you read about the waters of Marah in Exodus. You will see that more than we need water in the desert, we need to know God as our provider. Their thirst was a gift from God to draw them into a relationship with God. As hard as it is to understand, “Blessed be the sorrowing, for they shall be consoled.” Passing grief meets eternal joy. That baby’s family is eternal joy, we grieve but are consoled that those we love we will see again, and are unlike us incapable of grief.

    I too have a Tornado Story – This Tornado was called Obama – he hit the White House with a fury of hope and change – It hit in areas where people were most vulnerable, like Welfare recipients, and Women struggling with Birth Control payments – The Obama Tornado sweep America from coast to coast promising Free Health Care, Free Obama Cell Phones, Free Birth Control.

    America was already financially in trouble before the storm – the Obama tornado was the straw that broke the back of America – when the dust settled, America noticed that this Obama Tornado was not going away – it hovered over Washington DC for over 30 years.

    This storm was so powerful that Americans lost their Constitution, their rights to bare arms, their right to vote, freedom of speach, and even freedom to choose their own religion – those that are left today in this ravage Country the World now calls America Lite are required to take the Muslim faith.

    So many Welfare recipients, died from starvation because the Obama Tornado took their money away in Dec 2012 shortly after an election – this Tornado started out very nice and then grew very Violent – some say the most violent Tornado Dictator of all times.

    People were warned – common since would have been enough to warned all of American’s that this storm was coming – but no body seemed to care. They were only worried about what they can get for themselves for Free!

      The Bamster has the situation under control! On his way to the course today, he made sure that he would be notified if there were any green energy companies needed help. Later he will meet with his staff and hopefully be able to provide assitance to business and homeowners that are interested in going green. Big Sis is on the road, setting up bilingual shelters. Oh, and Eric Holder and his gang are looking fo damaged petroleumn based facilities to levy damage and enviormental fees- in order that the relief effort is “revenue neutral”!
      Just as soon as they can map out the route, they’ll be loading up that 40 unit autocade to make sure the subjects feel reassured! It is understood that a photo op will involve Mr. Obama and a solar panel.
      In a completely unrelated story, there is a definite evidence trail from the path of destruction to Crawford,TX. It remains to be seen as to whether there can be any official responsiblity for these events!

A little bit later, he will have two lines of cocaine and will call Abbas to chat about how he screwed the Americans this week (Sunday morning over there)….then he will go to bed, and will face the disturbing image of Moo with her $5000 lingerie, and at this point, the Americans finally will have some pay back…

    TRUE STORY FROM MY LIFE::
    When I was a child, a tornado hit the log house where my aunt and uncle lived with their family. My cousin was less than a year old. The twister tore the house to pieces and scattered it across the field. They couldn’t find my baby cousin. After over an hour of searching, they found two logs laying in one direction and two in the opposite direction forming something like a giant pound sign #. My cousin was sitting in the little pen the logs made – playing with a couple of sticks that she had picked up off the ground.

Remember the little girl many years ago that fell down that drain-pipe and after many hours, I remember seeing her when they pulled her out of the pipe…her name was Jessica or something like that. When I was kid my Great Aunt told me a story about a baby in a small crib was found unharmed about 10 miles away from her home after a tornado when my Great Aunt had lived in Kansas in the 30′s. @Amazing.. You’re talking about flight 255. It crashed two miles from where I now live on August 16th, 1987. I was 14 at the time. Cecelia Cihan (sp?) was her name. She was four years old. Her mother cocooned her as the plane went down. She lost her mom, dad and brother along with everyone else on the plane that day and several people driving on the road where it crashed. Her grandparents identified her by the purple nail polish she was wearing (they brought the bottle with them to the hospital). Cecelia grew up in Alabama with an aunt and uncle. There’s a memorial at the spot where the plane went down. I’ll never forget that tragedy.
