Babysitter Tells Cops He Beat Indiana Girl With Brick, Dismembered Her With Hacksaw

Babysitter Mike Plumadore Admits to Killing 9 year Old Aliahna Lemmon

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — A babysitter and trusted neighbor has confessed that he bludgeoned a 9-year-old Indiana girl to death with a brick then dismembered her, hiding her head, hands and feet at a home where he was staying and dumping the rest of her remains nearby, police said Tuesday.

Allen County sheriff’s investigators said in an affidavit that 39-year-old Michael Plumadore admits he killed Aliahna Lemmon on Thursday.

Babysitter Mike Plumadore Admits to Killing 9 year Old Aliahna Lemmon

An undated Allen County (Ind.) Sheriff's Department photo shows Mike Plumadore. Authorities said Monday night, Dec. 26, 2011 that Aliahna Lemmon had been found dead and Plumadore, 39, who was watching Aliahna and her two sisters when she went missing Friday, was being held on a murder charge. He and Aliahna's family lived in the same mobile home park in Fort Wayne. He will be formally charged with murder Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011. (AP Photo/Allen County (IN) Sheriff's Department)

According to the affidavit, Plumadore told police that after beating Aliahna to death on the front steps of the home in the early morning hours, he stuffed her body into trash bags and hid her in the freezer at the home in a rundown trailer park in Fort Wayne. He said he later chopped up her body with a hacksaw and stuffed her remains into freezer bags.

Police said Plumadore told them he had hidden Aliahna’s head, feet and hands at the trailer and discarded her other remains at a nearby business. Police obtained a warrant to search the trailer on Monday and found the body parts.

Authorities didn’t say Tuesday why Plumadore killed the child, but Sheriff Ken Fries said investigators suspected Plumadore was involved since soon after she was reported missing Friday night.

Investigators questioned him Friday and Saturday and he was arrested Monday after being interviewed by detectives for several hours more.

Fries said his long police career told him that Plumadore‘s account of the girl’s disappearance had too many inconsistencies.

“Things that were said in 29 years of doing this that just didn’t make sense,” Fries said during a Tuesday news conference. “We needed to get him to talk.”

Fries said Plumadore was “factual” in talking with investigators, but he wouldn‘t describe Plumadore’s demeanor.

A judge ordered Plumadore held without bail or bond at an initial hearing Tuesday, sheriff’s department spokesman Cpl. Jeremy Tinkel said. He has yet to be formally charged in Aliahna’s death.

Mike McAlexander, the Allen County chief deputy prosecutor, wouldn’t say whether anyone else was suspected of being involved and said “nothing has been ruled out.”

Aliahna and her two younger sisters were staying with Plumadore for about one week because their mother, Tarah Souders, had been sick with the flu.

Plumadore told The Journal Gazette on Sunday that Aliahna disappeared from the home Friday morning while he was sleeping after having gone to a gas station about a mile away to buy a cigar. Authorities have said the store’s surveillance video shows him there about that time.

Aliahna wasn’t reported missing until Friday night. Plumadore said the younger girls told him their mother had picked her up and he didn‘t realize until hours later that this wasn’t true.

On Saturday, more than 100 emergency workers searched for Aliahna around the trailer park on the city’s north side where Aliahna and Plumadore lived. FBI agents were there Monday.

A state website shows that 15 registered sex offenders live in the park that numbers about two dozen homes. Plumadore is not on Indiana’s registered sex offenders list. He has a criminal record in Florida and North Carolina that includes convictions for trespassing and assault.

Aliahna’s step-grandfather, David Story, told The Associated Press that Plumadore had cared for Souders‘ ailing father until his death from emphysema early this month and was living in that man’s mobile home.

“He was a trusted family friend,” Story said late Monday, saying he was surprised by the arrest.

Richard Patee, 58, whose trailer is next to where Plumadore was living, said he didn‘t think it was odd that Aliahna’s mother had him watching the girls for an extended period.

“They had known each other for somewhere of three to four years, I know that, and he took care of their grandfather,” Patee said. “I didn’t see any reason to question it at all. I talked with Mike on and off for the past two-and-a-half years and he never had a cross word.”

Associated Press Writer Tom Coyne contributed to this story from Fort Wayne.

I truly cannot wrap my mind around this kind of evil….only thing I can guess is that this guy must have been demon-possessed or mentally deranged.I hate to sound like a religious nutjob but I am a Christian and do believe in spiritual warfare and that Satan’s desire on earth is to Steal,Kill and Destroy as it states in the Bible. And when I say “religious nutjob”,I am referring to those who see evil and spiritual warfare in EVERYTHING! I have gone to church with the type for years and they really give us Christians a bad name and make us look stupid. But that being said,no normal human being engages in this type of behavior in my opinion.Like I said,I just don’t understand it and really hope that I never do.

Jesus Christ came to create a new dispensation of Salvation by Grace. Even this guy can be forgiven. But unlike what so many turn the cheekers, Jesus didn’t come to destroy the Law, He came to fulfill it. Scriptural Law and consecutively OUR Laws demand a certain punishment. God clearly states in the Book of Matthew that, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven”. How do we do the will of God? Read the Torah, ask of the Prophets. At no point does Jesus Christ ever renounce the Law or it’s punishments, including punishments for particular crimes. He calls us all to repent (change our mind, and turn away for that which is against the Law), and to accept Jesus as our propitiation. If we do that He will grant us the Spirit of Forgiveness, which will bring us into line with His will, which is fulfilling the Law. We will KNOW we’re walking right when we love God above anything else, and love our neighbors equally. Fulfilling the Law becomes a joy.

Harming a child is one of the greatest evils in this world. Whether this guy repents or not, his JUST recompense is to pay for that innocent life, with his own life. I know that being judgmental. MEH! It’s telling the truth, and it’s THE LAW that has judged the lawless. I wonder why the anti-Christ is called the Lawless one if Grace trumped the Law? The simple answer is that it doesn’t.

I understand your anger, but it’s become a societal issue. The laziness of morality known as moral relativism breeds this kind of act. The guilty in this Country have been allowed to get away with mental pleas, have legions of perverted lawyers either out for a buck or a name petitioning for a criminals rights, and humane treatment. Guaranteed it will happen in this case too. When relativism out rules absolutes this is what happens to societies. BUT after saying all that, there are times when we have to be able to trust our fellow man. The story is still vague. I’m a 30 something guy that lives alone and have been told by at least one of my neighbors that my size and color of my skin makes me kind of scarey. But my next door neighbor who I’ve had several of “interesting” discussions with has me watch his kids frequently. Only a couple of times for more than a day or 2, but almost every day that they’re in school. Sometimes we just don‘t know what’s going on in peoples minds, and is why we have to judge people by what they do, their actions. It’s not necessarily the parents completely, but a society that allows people like this creep to get off with less than they deserve at fault.

I hope BLAZE follows this story.

It is items of news as this that encourages my belief that we need to remove the prison guards from vioent criminals. Sentence all the violent rapist and murders to a prison void of prison guards.
Take a 100 convicts and give them each five year sentences. Supply Cable TV, gyms, libraries, computers, gourmet dinners. The US could sell the rights for a reality TV show to ABC….put a camara smack in the middle of it. The US would make millions. Opponents of the death penalty would have no debate…the prisonsers would affect their own justice. Each time the population falls below 90, we refill.
Until the day we finally come to an agreement for what to do with violent criminals—muderers, pediphiles, rapist; these storylines will continue to threaten our children and our society.

Im not for the death penalty,…and I am very conservative. Im not for the death penalty because our laws do no award justice withour griefious delay. After ten years on death row– it becomes revenge.

Lets place murderers in prison without prison guards and allow them to judge themself. We can take necessary measure to defend the innocent and still give allow certain swift justice.

This would reduce violent crime in a nano-second. Who would wish to vacation there.

There’s no reason bad things couldn’t happen to rotten kids as easily as nice ones. I realize she was just a kid and probably couldn’t have committed any very serious sins, but the other side of that is that they often don’t really repent of the ones they don’t get caught for. This is a tragic horrific story but if you permit something like shariah law here you can’t say “here but not there”. This is an emotional story but emotions can’t be trusted. That is why we have trails by jury.
We caught this guy alive and so we give him a speedy trail and then death. He confessed so it SHOULD not take long.

How does a guy get this evil? What does he read or watch to develop into such a waste of humanity?

I hold to the belief that everyone wants to do good, but when this kind of demon comes forth, I have to conclude that some are not good at heart but evil to the core. Justice demands proper punishment for evil actions.

I can‘t believe this mother didn’t have a clue. I have signed up with the police department in my city to get an alert any time a sex pred moves within 1 mile of my address. What this guy did was unspeakable and brought tears to my eyes as I was looking at her picture. This guy must suffer for what he did. I just hope his death is twice as bad as hers was. May you rest in peace little one.

@BLAZEN420: That’s right, brick up side his head and then saw him up with a hacksaw. Did you see the movie “ Law Abiding Citizen ” ? Sometimes it is difficult to pack up and move but when there are 24 house trailers and 15 REGISTERED SEXUAL OFFENDERS in the same park, you might want to move on down the road. Just a quick look at the “suspect” and I wouldn’t let him walk my dog.

See the movie Law Abiding Citizen and tell me this animal doesn‘t deserve the same grisly fate that Gerard Butler’s character visited upon the slayer of his family (i.e., slow and extremely painful dismemberment while alive and VERY conscious).

If found guilty, beat him to death with the same brick – forget the dismemberment unless someone wants to do it while he’s still alive. Dump his body in the nearest garbage pit or outhouse – nothing more.

Unless the mother has a reasonable explanation as to why she left her children with this piece of crap, she should be executed as well – just more humanely. Afterward – she goes in the dump too.

I agree, beat him to death with the same brick. save us all some money and he gets his. The mom, what to say about the mom, here is my question, why is it so common for poor people to be so stupid and uneducated?? I don’t get it.. I was always very poor but always wanted to learn, so I did. while I only have one degree, I know a LOT. I also know enough to protect my child, I know it is not a good idea to live in a sex offender infested trailer park, I know enough to not leave my kid somewhere for a WEEK with someone who is not the child‘s father no matter how long I’ve known him. What is WRONG with people???? This little girl didn’t even have a chance to grow up, her mom should be charged. I wish we would stop letting people use the poor/uneducated excuse to be sloppy parents, and sloppy people.

Did you even read the artical? The man a trusted family friend that they knew for years and took care of their dying grandfather.

I don’t think it was the mother fault at the least bit. But I do agree you on how this evil man should be punished.

Unless EVIDENCE comes out that the mother KNEW this man was a danger I can’t see justly punishing her for what happened here. The woman lost her little girl. She has surviving children that need her care.
This is tragic but the mother can’t be held accountable for this. Any one of us no matter how careful we are could have this happen.
How many times have we heard … “he was a quiet nice guy I am shocked …”
No leaver her be … pray for her… but leave her be.
