Bachmann Defends Comments on Obama‘s ’Anti-American’ Agenda

During an interview with the BBC last Friday, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann was pressed to defend some of her past remarks, including questioning whether the policy priorities of President Barack Obama are really in America’s interest.

“If we look at the collection of friends that Barack Obama has had in his life,” Bachmann told MSNBC’s Chris Matthews in 2008, “it calls into question what Barack Obama’s true beliefs and values and thoughts are. His attitudes, values, and beliefs with Jeremiah Wright on his view of the United States…is negative; Bill Ayers, his negative view of the United States. We have seen one friend after another call into question his judgment — but also, what it is that Barack Obama really believes?”

“Remember it was Michele Obama who said she is only recently proud of her country and so these are very anti-American views,” she said. “That’s not the way that most Americans feel about our country. Most Americans are wild about America and they are very concerned to have a president who doesn’t share those values.”

The Left has extrapolated these comments to claim that Bachmann decried the president himself as “very anti-American.” The BBC questioned Bachmann on this premise and she once again insisted it‘s the president’s “anti-free market” policies which have her worried:

Rep. Bachmann, R-Minn., was also asked about President Obama’s recent trip to India which allegedly cost American taxpayers up to $200 million per day. Bachman has repeated the claim, but points out that the actual figure came from a report out of New Delhi.

    Michelle Bachmann said what a lot of Americans know. Only those who live in the haze of liberalism continue to support this man in the WH. Before the election of O, the public was spoon fed all this stuff by the liberal media about how historical this election was going to be and maybe the first black in the history of the Country would be elected and the dolts didn’t look any further than their television screens and he won the WH. Even today as he and the democrats continue on the road to destroy the Country, the liberal media continues to praise and adore him. We need more people in the Republican Party to step up to the plate and say it like it is. They could take lessons from Bachmann and Palin. These two ladies have spines of steel.

    Of course he’s anti-American,the man surrounds himself with socialists,communists and terrorists,he institutes policies to send the country into a deficit never before seen in America and his wife brings in as her chief of staff someone who is closely associated with George Soros who is orchestrating the down fall of our country through Obama! My question is why hasn’t the Senate or Congress instituted impeachment proceedings against him yet?Does the Constitution have to be ripped to shreds before our so called representatives take action?

    He is the epitome of anti-American principles. The principles of our Constitution are clear and easy to understand, separation of powers, no taxation without representation, the power to govern is derived from the people in the form of a republic, and Barak has told us enough to judge fairly, he is a socialist progressive tyrant who nationalized private companies for political payback – if Americans had their wits about them he would never have come to power in the first place.

    This BBC reporter is a nasty piece of work, really a rude dog if there ever was one.
    Michelle Bachmann handled her own quite well against this insulting and rudely handled assault on her intellect. It is just like liberal minded socialistic narrow minded British journalists to try and do character assassination attempts on politicians of whom they think are easy to break under attack, since they have nothing in the game, no cards on the table, and all they are looking for are parlor tricks to brag about their exploits, in this case she ran into a real tigress of a mama grizzly par excellence. Now this is the kind of person America should be proud of, at least she didn’t bow down to the intended pressure.

    It is time to tell ALL MEDIA, that this is not about what the next election will be; IT is time to do the work at hand; America is in trouble. If that is boring than so be it. Why does every media outlet (and I mean every media outlet) finish one election, then like someone addicted to crack have to focus their coverage on what is going to happen in 2 years. This is not a Super Bowl, a Nascar race, the NBA: this our future of getting on with our individual lives is at stake.     Assume for the sake of argument that “Little Barry” was born in Hawaii and is thus an American citizen. If that is true, then he is an American by birth. But he is an American ONLY by birth. By any other standard the man is NOT an American in any way, shape or form. He does not understand the concept of Liberty, nor does he honor it. He does not understand the nature of human action; indeed he is completely at sea regarding economics and the functioning of markets. He eschews religion, including Islam, but especially any Western religion. His ethics, if any, are anchored in a whirlwind of whimsy. The man-child is without scruple and cannot be trusted.

    That he was elected President reflects extremely poorly on our benighted fellows who supported him. America is in deep trouble, and the most serious threat is NOT Obama but rather our fellow citizens.

      He was born to an American mother and Kenyan (British) father. By British law at the time any child born of a British citizen has British citizenship so Obama was born with dual citizenship status.
      When his mother remarried his Indonesian father and moved there Indonesian law states the children become Indonesian and they take on there fathers religion Muslim. But what does that matter they will never allow that to be heard in a courtroom.

    Rep. Bachmann, I am sad to say, is an endangered species in this country. It is up to the good people of this nation to change the “Status Quo”. It seems repetitious to keep stating the obvious, however, it is necessary to counter the constant bombardment from mainstream media and politicians, which is, ultimately a brainwashing technique.

    PERHAPS, it is simply the British style, but the smugness of this reporter allows a glimpse into the the deteriorating respect the world has for the USA.
    Michele shows her usual class in response to her belief of and love for her country. Thank you, Michele. Cream always rises to the top. It is unfortunate that the world has such a short memory on what country either saved their butts or generously gave their all if misfortune struck other nations in various catastrophes.

    What I don’t understand is Obama attitute and past “freinds” were known before the election! Why in the hell did we elect him then. I just don’t understand, if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and has duck friends, why would anyone think it was a swan?? The Congresswoman is right and I am glad that she is standing up and repeating this. Obama doesn’t like the way America is founded and her freedom. He wants to change it to be more in line with the one world goverment that is here and taking over. I don’t know if we have two more years as a free and independant Nation.     Let me say it … Obama is anti American. That is obvious. I don’t understand why he still has so much support considering that only 20% of the population claim to be socialist or at least far left liberal So … there must be approximately another 25% if Americans who are either really stupid or are non white Americans who see their chance to stick it to whitey through their commie in the White house.

    I think it’s a combination of stupidity, hate and envy by the non white communities that are infesting America at this time and by really white trash ala left and right coastal cities where like rats on top of each other they have lost all connection to what free America is all about. ….

      @Maximus – I have traveled all through South and Central America and no one refers to themselves as “Americans” except of course the ex-pats who were born in the USA. When the world hears “Americans” and/or “America” they automatically think USA. Otherwise it’s Mexicans, Canadians, Brazilians, Chilalians, Costa Ricans, etc.

      I agree with John Obama is Anti-American. I have not heard him defend the United States– but I have heard him complain about the United States-and on foreign soil at that. It is not just his economic policies but his refusal to honor and recognize traditional and Patriotic elements. This nation under God–etc. left out of his speeches. I see this BBC interview as perhaps the first of many attacks on
      Ms.Bachmann by her opponents in both political Parties in attempt to discredit or control her .

      The middle east invades England the same way Mexico invades California. Over half of our students in Ca are now of Spanish decent and most are either illegal or the children of illegals.
